@shadowphoenixrider aw I haven’t seen it but I do know one thing about X-men. To sum it up there’s a comic panel I remember with Charles and Erik saying heaven is basically a revolving door for mutants. (They rarely stay dead) so there might be hope for whoever it is !!! (Gambit I’m guessing?)

And right?? I don’t know if they’re hoping it’ll be the emotional gut punch that Varian’s death was? But that was like a rare success. Idk it just worked for a lot of reasons. Many were specific to Varian’s character and Anduin’s though.

However they then proceeded to completely mess up another death not even five minutes later (poor vol’jin he got done so dirty) so there’s that.

Just leave my man alone 😭 why can’t he just be my special pal who pops in once in a while.

Tell me about Camdyn! I want to know your thoughts (but if you need a prompt, tell me about Cam smacking Nathanos and or Sylvanas straight in the face with her hammer because they deserve it)

Let’s just say that when I get to Shadowlands content in story, it’s gonna look really different for Cam than how it actually goes in-game.

But tapping into her...spirit or essence, if you will, while I was railing on Nathanos was really satisfying. I’m not gonna lie, I was torn on Tyrande getting the actual kill. Of all of us, she deserved to. What happened to Teldrassil needs vengeance. Needs retribution. But man am I tired of having my kills stolen; it sort of deflates you a bit, you know? (Feel free to toss actual prompt stuff at me, too - you know you always can)

I’ve got my Artifact Challenge!!!!! :D

That was hard.

This is my first btw; resto druid’s not only my main, but the only class and spec I even do dungeons with, so I’m not holding out much hope that I’ll get any others. I did practice the Balance a bit already, as I use that for soloing, and if I had the gear with my mage (my only other 110 character), I’d try the Arcane (I’ve got a few LFRs under my belt with that at least, but being a dps in a team is weird, I keep looking at people’s health), but I barely even know the spells of the others.

Pity, the flame cat looks awesome. But I’ve never really played Feral.

Worth a couple of tries, at least...

@shadowphoenixrider thanks for the encouragement, I use BigWigs, I don’t know how much less info that gives me than DBM, and I’ll try to keep the survival part in mind now that I’m actually trying DPS challenges. (Funny thing is, the healing challenge of course needed you to keep your allies and yourself alive, but to do that, you had to do most of the DPS too.)

@shadowphoenixrider she was always so supportive about my writing too. She was amazing like that. She’s a huge reason I had the courage to even post a lot of my stuff.

I was reading through old conversations earlier and I cried. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact I’ll never talk to her again.

Canon? Nope. And I’m a bit rustier at writing them than I’d like. Obviously this means I need to write more of A Prayer soon, yes? ;-)

I’m not sure how good this is, but it’s done and complete, and I’m counting that as a victory. ____ “At the sound of the retreating boots, Caeleborn turned to Aelfira, pressed his finger to his lips, and leaned around the low wall.” Camdyn turned the page, then immediately carded her fingers back through Varian’s hair where his head rested in her lap, gently dragging her nails against his scalp.

He exhaled a hum, a small happy noise and tipped his head to chase her touch.

Camdyn set the book aside on the grass next to her hip for a moment, relishing in the feel of Varian’s hair sliding between her fingers, of the sensation of his weight on her crossed legs. She watched his face as she scratched at scalp again. As the corner of his mouth tugged up in a grin, she smiled at his simple happiness. He deserved it and so much more besides. He had always given so much to his people.

To their people.

It was still strange, still so large as to be vaguely nebulous and something she had trouble truly grasping.

The gentle drag of his fingers against her jaw shook her free, and she felt heat creeping across her cheeks as she looked down at his head in her lap.

She knew it was coming from the gleam in his eye, from the quirk to his mouth.

“My queen?” His voice was soft, and he didn’t try to hide the wolfish edge to his smile.

“Stop that,” she scoffed. The pad of his thumb skimmed over her cheekbone.

“But it makes your flush that much more pronounced and endearing.”

Camdyn swatted his shoulder for that, and at least he had the decency to feign injury.

As he rolled back and settled again, his fingers still cradling her face and hers in his hair, her heart skipped at the joy in his eyes.

His hand slid to her neck. With gentle insistence, he guided her down until their lips met.

It was slow, easy, gentle.

With Camdyn’s hair curtaining around them, Varian kissed her as if there was nothing else in the world but her, and the tenderness of it stole the breath from her lungs. The tip of his tongue flickered along the line of her lower lip, teasing, testing.

The absolutely wicked chuckle he made into her mouth as she nipped at the fullness of his lower lip made her blood sing for him.

The sudden, distinctive sound of a throat being pointedly cleared was like dumping ice water over her head. Camdyn tore her mouth away from Varian’s and her hand flew back to the book, yanking it to her face as she sat back up.

“I apologize, Father. Camdyn.”

Camdyn wasn’t sure whose blush was brighter, hers or Anduin’s, but she was almost certain the heat in her cheeks rivaled the heat of the Great Forge.

“I’ll just find you both later then, shall I?”

Camdyn could feel Varian’s eyes on her still, but she refused to look at him, instead keeping her eyes studiously fixed on the book.

“That would be best, I think,” Varian finally answered, amusement coloring his words. “And close the doors to the gardens on your way out, if you don’t mind.”

As the heavy wooden doors creaked closed, the book was delicately taken from her hands and she was guided back down to taste the curve of his smile.

13. What’s the biggest change between your style when you started in fandom and today?

I would have to say that I finally learned to write effective description. My biggest flaw when I first started writing - at all, not just in fandom - was that I was an informative essayer, not a storyteller. I finally learned how to describe things, actions, words, atmosphere.... It made a HUGE difference.

20. Have/Would you ever rewrite a fic? If yes, would you take the original down?

I have. And yes, I took down the original to be replaced with the rewrite, but it got bashed so much that I threw the entire work (over 150 pages, 300k words in, unfinished) out the window.

23. What’s the nicest review you’ve ever gotten?

I think it would have to be this one:

35. Have you ever written a ship into a fic without meaning to?

... Yes. Dust to Dust was not meant to be shipped at all. In any way. Wound up with Kalec/Khadgar AND Raventrust. .... The muses decided to be assholes about it so I let them have their way.  ..... And the whole thing wound up a giant angst fest instead of the crack it was MEANT to be.
