I hope you know what I'm talking about because I swear I didn't make this up lmao. Do you know the interview (I can't remember if it was like a video or a written interview) where Joe says he had a really hard time filming the scene where Nancy is drunk and Steve realises she doesn't love him? Like they had to do a lot of takes for it or something and he just found it hard/upsetting having to do it over and over.
I thought of this immediately but he doesn’t mention doing it over and over so maybe it was something else? My brain isn’t braining right now so if anyone knows, help anon out 😌 otherwise I’ll try to look into it later :)

Last night I had a dream Danny got stuck in invisible ghost mode, but Damian could see him because of the lazarus pit. He had to contact Jason to get someone else who could see Danny. The only stuff I know about the batman fandom is from tumblr and crossover fanfiction.
Solid DP x DC idea in my humble opinion, pulls from Damian's connection to the pits. I have inspired greatness in my mutuals.

So Hades + Persephone retelling embargo aside, I was wondering if you had any good retellings you've read? Or just good greek myth retellings in general? I have started Circe. Also, do you have any recommendations for like good places to start learning more about the original myths? I know about Theoi but I'd love other resources if you have them? Thank yoooooooou <3
yes! many.
greek myth retellings i've read and enjoyed:
circe, the song of achilles by madeline miller
stone blind, a thousand ships by natalie haynes
the penelopiad by margaret atwood
lore by alexandra bracken
mythos, heroes, trojan by stephen fry
autobiography of red by anne carson
resources for greek mythology:
the iliad by homer (translated by richard lattimore, robert fagles, or emily wilson, whose edition is set to debut this fall)
the odyssey by homer (translators same as previous, though wilson's is already available)
an oresteia trans. by robert fagles, anne carson
grief lessons trans. by anne carson
sophocles, electra trans. by anne carson
sophokles, antigone trans. by anne carson
fragments of sappho trans. by anne carson
metamorphoses by ovid (albeit roman fanfiction of greek mythology, but verbose, heady, and necessary)
the homeric hymns
mythology: timeless tales of gods and heroes by edith hamilton
i would also like to loop in @andromedaexists, who studies classics, and @authoralexharvey, a hellenistic pagan, as they read widely and probably have a host of recommendations themselves.

Hey I like your stuff about Tiso have a nice day
oough my Void Tiso stuff is SO good here I have a gift for you: things he does in Hallownest when he's not competing in the colosseum
-Walks through Greenpath to see how long it will take Hunter to maul him (enrichment for vigilance)
-Walks through the City of Tears so he can maul the Collector (enrichment for violence)
-Visits the Hive
-Stares at the door to the Abyss like it has offended him personally
-Steals more gender (as most void beings do not have any Tiso needs to replenish his gender like it's a stat /j)
-Talks to Elderbug (Tiso is older than him)
-Frees grubs
-Leaves Hallownest to visit Sharpe in Pharloom (they are Void brothers to me. There is no proof otherwise)
-Visits the door to the Abyss again to see if it's open yet
-Drinks lifeblood
-Annoys Hornet until she attacks him (enrichment for vigilance AND violence)
-Checks up on the Black Egg Temple in a show of Void sibling solidarity for the Hollow Knight (he did not know that the Pale King was experimenting with Void until stasis began, otherwise he would have tried to stop it)
-Vandalizes the remains of White Palace
-Frees more grubs
-Annoys God Tamer until SHE attacks him (more violence enrichment)
That's all I have for now but thank you for your interest in Void Tiso I love that headcanon so much

can u write something about “daddy can you pass the salt” with austin when u guys are at a huge family dinner with all of the readers aunt and uncles and parents
Your boyfriend’s hand was clammy as you knocked on the door to your childhood home. “You’re gonna be fine, My parents love everyone.”  and that was the truth, granted they were a little skeptical of your age gap.
“Hi, honey,” your mother greeted. Shaking Austin’s hand. In all honesty, it was your dad’s approval you were least worried about, as most of the time he was more of a background character in situations like these, your big sisters, however, were a tough crowd to please.
“Hi mommy.” You say as you’re pulled into a hug.
“Hello, Mrs. L/N.” Austin greets, placing the cake you two had made on the table.
You help your mother set the table, while Austin introduces himself to your father and sisters.
By the time everyone had sat down to eat Austin was talking to your family like they had known him forever, and you couldn’t be more ecstatic about it.
“Daddy, Could you pass the salt please?” You ask. You turn to your mother who mumbled something about you getting high blood pressure. Turn back around, confused by the silence. You’re greeted by Austin, who was blue in the face, retracting his hand from the salt, and a look of utter shock on your fathers face. Even your big sister’s were trying not to laugh. Not knowing what to do, you whisper in Austin's ear. “Breathe, honey.” and he let out a deep breath.
Your father passes the salt clearing his throat, not saying anything, wanting to avoid the awkwardness of confrontation, to your’s and Austin’s pleasure your sister however had a few choice words for the two of you.

Hey, are you doing ok? You haven't posted in a while. I'm a new follower so no problem if I missed a hiatus note or something, just wanted to make sure you were ok. ❤
aww, thank you! i'm hanging in there ^^;
the hiatus note thing is my fault - i've wanted to start to work on this blog since i stopped, so i've occasionally posted since i originally went on hiatus, and any hiatus note i may have posted got buried.
i do still check this blog's notes for nice tags and messages, and ofc to clear out The Bots™, and i appreciate your concern!

🐝 to dance among the ruins
>:D
Their world is gone. Their home- beautiful, intricate, precious- has been reduced to ashes. There is nothing more of Season 8, not the mountains, not the valleys. Only stars remain in the sea of void. But when they float in the darkness, hand in hand, friends until the end, then, well. They might be okay after all, Grian thinks. (or: the server is gone. boatem is not.)

Hi! What are ace temple weddings? I'm an ace LDS but I've never heard that term before
Okay so ace marriage is a term I came up with to describe what my ideal temple marriage would look like. I didn't think it would get as spread in the doc as it did but I like that I contributed to the lingo ❤️
Essentially, in my mind, it's one AFAB member (which would be me in said scenario) and one AMAB member in a platonic relationship, and then they get married in the temple with no sex required
Edit:
Tumblr media
YEAH! This is exactly what I mean :] you're getting eternally married to your best friend and then you will be together as friends forever, which is exactly what I want :D

What are your thoughts about the pacing of the series, because I personally think that everything has been rushed to absolute hell.
The only real timeskip we get is the 10-11 months at the very beginning when Izuku is working on improving his physical condition to receive OFA.
After that, it's like all of the major events are spaced at like days or weeks apart, and I just don't like it. You're telling me all of these major events happened in their FIRST YEAR at UA alone? Yeah, I'm not buying it at all.
I really don't get it either, to be honest.
The beginning was a little weird to me, considering we're going from middle to high school very quickly with very little in between the time skips to get us settled in. And once Izuku gets into Yuuei, it's just one plot point after the next, after the next, after the next - it's exhausting to read through. I have to admit, I'm a manga reader through and through, and I'll defend reading the original all day every day, but sometimes I wish we had more filler or at least more chill arcs in between whatever the next calamity is going to be.
I continue to refuse to believe that ALL OF THIS happened within the first year at Yuuei. Besides being the single worst year in the school's history for staff and students alike, there's just too much at play here that needs to go down. They should've broken it down into the cast's entire three years at Yuuei to make it more believable. Give AFO more time to get Shigaraki ready, give Shigaraki more time to perfect his control and his techniques, give the League more time to become a more feared villain group - and give the kids more time to BREATHE. They're literally kids, they shouldn't have to deal with all of this in their first year alone. Can you imagine how AWESOME it would be if we had to see third-year Izuku going toe-to-toe with Shigaraki? How awesome it would be if we got to see them all matured, having trained themselves up, and going all out in a civil war against the villains' side. But we won't get that, because - and this is my opinion - everyone is too impatient to get the ball rolling. I don't think Horikoshi and the team want to wait until 1-A's third year for a climactic battle of ideals. And that's honestly kind of disappointing.
It's too much even for the audience. Many times in the manga I had to stop reading for a while because I needed time to process what the hell just happened before diving into the next problem at hand.
I don't know. You've got a good point in that the pacing is off, even for a shonen manga. I know it's taboo to even suggest, but I really do wish there was more manga filler to at the very least give readers time to process each arc. I know that's probably what the manga breaks are for, but I jumped into the manga after MHA started airing as an anime. It's too much.

Favorite Gochi moment(s)?
That’s a bit of a tough one given my memory of the series isn’t the best - seriously it’s been a WHILE since I’ve seen DB/Z/GT and I refuse to touch much of Super - but my all time favorite (well not moment but it counts) is the filler arc with ChiChi’s wedding dress. They’re just so cute! It’s neat seeing them before it all hits the fan! Favorite actual series moment is when Goku wakes up in the Cell Saga and she jumps out to hug him. It’s not often we see them just having a good time and I have to say it really warms the heart.

(1) So, I'm writing a story in which magic is real but the magical world is separate and hidden from the mundane world (most people don't notice magic, and if they do, they quickly forget about it). Writers often use this trope for wish fulfillment (yes, magic is real, it's just very well hidden).
(2) However, in a mundane world where so many people suffer and die from disease, poverty, and violence, a separate and hidden magical world would be problematic. We'd all escape from our ordinary lives to a place of magic if we could, but the right thing to do would be to share that magic with people who need it. (3) 2020 made this point painfully clear. If that hidden magical world exists, then all of its inhabitants are psychopaths. Otherwise, someone would have used magic to prevent the pandemic... or the explosion in Beirut... or to save George Floyd or Breonna Taylor... or to summon rainclouds to put out the wildfires in Australia or California. The fact that these tragedies happened at all is revealing. (4) Can you think of any solutions to this moral/ethical dilemma?
Um. Not really? I'd be tempted to talk about something to do with the butterfly effect - I think that's what it's called, fixed points in time, canon events or whatever. Something about magical users not being able or allowed, due to magical law, to intervene like that. Something, something a much higher being caused the pandemic or... Something. I honestly don't know. I don't write situations like this, I don't tackle politics or real world situations like this. I don't find it fun for me personally. I write to escape the real world and all of its problems, not to solve them. I'm sorry I can't be more help.
