to me the most tragic thing about the long breaks between the publishing of the novels in asoiaf is that the series started off with those beautifully illustrated covers that you used to get in the 80s and 90s and now its just. stock image of a goblet on a bright green background. sigh.

I’m re-reading Fangirl at 9am* and I take massive offence to the fact that Reagan says that “Internet friends don’t count.”
Bitch, yes they bloody do.
*the window dude turned up before 8am. Before my alarm. Luckily he was cool enough to wait outside in his van for us to rush around like headless chickens getting up, ready and moving the last few things.

my mum forbade me to say anything to my dad about the top surgery thing, and it's just hit me how funny it would be if i got it done and didn't tell him and just waited for him to notice. i mean, what's he gonna say? "didn't you used to have tits?"

Can you believe there's no Zagreus/Thanatos/Megaera/Dusa fic? None! Where's my messy and half-queerplatonic polycule?!

a very interesting part of Carrie (the novel) is that it ends with a letter from a young mother regarding her daughter who might be developing esp. is it supposed to be scary? maybe! but i cant see it that way. while the woman seems nervous about her young daughter developing these powers, you can tell these people are nothing like the White family. they seem to care for and cherish their children. AND the writer talks about how her grandmother had a similar gift, it's not something that she is unfamiliar with. in the writing you get a hint of the love these small family has for each other, so I'm not worried. if anything it's a little reminder that it didn't have to end this way. carrie could've lived and thrived if she had been loved.
