You know what, if there is one theory I have (for laughs) that I want to be true is All For One is Midoriya’s GRANDfather.

I already explained why in another post, but if I had to say I want AFO and Midoriya to be related, than I want it to be in that way.

Even better, on Inko's side.

Didn't say it in the other post, but I think it would be mad wild if she was AFO's daughter because the irony of her having the same hairstyle as his enemy Nana and having a "floating" type quirk.

It would also reflect Shigaraki to Midoriya more for the fact that they both had/have moms who do care about them and vice versa.

In addition, it would be a reflection of Inko to Kotato.

Inko - daughter, who happens to be a kind, caring mother to Midoriya but her father is the most feared, evil villain of all time

Kotaro - son, who is the totally opposite mistreated his children yet his mother was a sweet woman who was a Hero

Both having the similarity of parents abandoning them. Yet, one didn't want to and the other (hypothetically) didn't care to be there/or just didn't know.

Like if we're gonna do the whole DFO Theory, gotta think outside the box for it. It would be perfect in showcasing reflections for...

Izuku -> Tenko

Inko -> Kotaro

AFO -> Nana

Also, think about what it could do to All Might. (I know some of you like that angst.)

Not only did AFO take his predecessor's grandchild, but he's also the grandfather of his own successor.

MHA CHAPTER 418 HIGHLIGHTS ⚠SPOILERS⚠

This chapter actually broke me. I actually cried. Tenko's past has always been the one to make me cry every, single, time.

I knew what was coming. I knew I was going to see this scene again. THAT DID NOT MAKE IT HURT ANY LESS.

But even more than that, this scene was what truly destroyed me. Seeing Tenko/Tomura trying to cope with what he did by saying he wanted to do it, because how else is he supposed to live with being born this way?

And just the way Izuku continues to hold his hands even when Tenko's decay destroys his arms. Gosh...

The joy on Tenko's face when he sees his old friends (also EYYY we finally get to see them), but then he remembers...

He has people now, in the present, who need him. Seeing him say he needs to be a hero for all the people who have been hurt like him, it really hit me hard. Seeing him genuinely care about people will never not make me cry. :'(

The fact that AFO and Kotarou knew each other STILL shocks me. Not only that, but AFO tried to get Garaki involved? He really was just after this whole family, huh.

Also HAHA back problems! Old man! (I, 17, say as if I don't have any.)

I'm wholly convinced now that AFO gave Tenko Decay now. (I made another post on the theory and explained why I thought AFO giving Tenko a quirk would make sense. In short, he's an Izuku parallel, so I just think it makes sense for Tomura to get his quirk from the villain while Izuku got his from the hero.) I like the thought of Tenko having been quirkless, but who knows maybe AFO has been using Tenko's original quirk to fly or smthn. Either way, this parallel goes HARD.

AGAIN WITH EATING EVERYTHING. GEEZ. You know, I was just joking when I was talking about AFO eating anything and everything (and everyone), but I don't think it's a joke anymore. This counts FOUR TIMES he's eaten/tried to eat(?) someone.

It says something about their society's dehumanizing view of heroes that they would prefer heroes end in a blaze of glory rather than continue to live past their "usefulness".

Here is where Kota's parallels with Kotaro become clear. Heroes are nasty people he can't understand sounds a whole lot like Kotaro's heroes are monsters who abandon their families to save strangers. And both had hero parent(s) who died in the line of duty and left their young son behind. Though Kota differs on a few key points: (1) he is still with relatives so he wasn't cut off from his entire community like Kotaro and (2) Kota knows the circumstances of what happened to his parents which gives him more opportunity for closure compared to Kotaro who had no idea what happened to his mother and why she left.

About the reveal about Shigaraki this chapter: I say it once and I say it again, revealing new information that changes the context of past events is not retconing! It is literally a fundamental part of story telling!

Sometimes, I feel like people who say things like that just want to be haters to the story but try to sound "technical" about it.

Before, we really only had that one flashback of Tenko's childhood. If anything, this chapter cleared up a thought I had for a while.

I mentioned it just now in another ask, but I'll say it again.

I always wondered if AFO already knew about the Shimura family. It would make sense if he does. He is evil and one of his own worse enemies is Nana. Man rules from the shadows. He has followers! No doubt he was keeping an eye on them since Kotaro was a child. Come on.

How is that retconning?!
