Just my little thought after watching one of the clips from the upcoming TMNT MM movie. You can ignore it, I just needed to write it somewhere, lmao.

As we all know, in one of the trailers, Leo mentioned that he would like to find a girlfriend.

This is the normal thing for teenagers - who among us hasn't wanted someone who will love you, no matter what you look like?

But anyway, am I the only one here who sees some potential fluff for Leo with a human girl? I mean, it's just an idea, but I secretly hope that maybe in this movie towards the end, or in a potential sequel, it will be suggested that Leo likes some girl, I don't know, maybe a younger friend of April's or a completely random girl... ANYONE. Especially because it could also fuel some youthful rebellion from Leonardo if, unfortunately, Splinter had any objections to it.

I just think it would be a cute storyline, for movie's plot or just normal fanfiction with oc or whatever.

It would definitely be healthier and more enjoyable than the Donatello x April ship portrayed in the 2012 TMNT.

Not to mention that strange storyline with him and Karai, euuugh.

Regardless of whether this storyline is further explored or not, it won't take away my joy of watching this movie.

Some friends to lovers writing concepts:

I LOVE friends to lovers trope, so I wanted to challenge myself to come up with some prompts for that relationship dynamic:

One friend is a serial relationship kind of person, and the other is a one-and-done kind of person. When A and B starting sleeping together as FWB, A doesn’t ever think the arrangement will lead to more, while B very quickly catches feelings and thinking about them growing old together. They both think they’re on the same page with each other and lots of feelings happen when they realize they’re not.

Both friends start talking to anonymous people online and start falling for them, and don’t realize that the person they’ve been talking to online is their best friend. C figures it out before D (because D sends C a photo and C recognizes their tattoo) and has NO idea how to tell them.

The two friends have a misunderstanding in which character E now thinks the two of them are now dating, while character F can’t understand why E is suddenly so much more tactile - cuddling on the couch, holding their hand in public, giving them little forehead and cheek kisses. F really likes all of it and is pinning hard for E, while E thinks their new relationship is going great and is super happy. (can have an element of E thinking F just doens’t like sex so they’re happy not to have it, OR they are sleeping together but F thinks they’re in a FWB situation while E thinks they’re full-on dating.)

Character G decides they’re gonna try and seduce H by constantly flirting and little touches instead of actually just telling H how they feel, but H is completely clueless and just thinks G is being more tactile than normal because they haven’t dated anyone in a while. H decides it’s their job as G’s best friend to find them someone to date.

J and K have been best friends since thye were kids/in college, but have lived halfway across the country from each other for the past however many years. When J has to move back home suddenly K offers that J can live with them, but when J arrives K realises that oh no they’re really hot. J has the same thought about K, and now they’re both trying really hard not to develop a crush on their best friend-slash-new roomate.

Shipping hypotheticals

If my muse were to develop a crush on someone, it would be because they have displayed admirable personality traits in one form or another.

If that person happens to be a villain/rogue, she's going to be super conflicted, beating herself up about it emotionally. There are so many reasons why it wouldn't work out, and she knows it. She's also torn because she knows they've committed some (severity varying) crimes, but she's beginning to see a side of them that no one else has bothered looking for: their humanity.

She knows it wouldn't work out long-term with a villain, because she's unlikely to turn completely to their side, and she's aware that it's very unlikely she could be their saving grace, no matter how much she wishes it could be so.

In either case, she's likely to keep her feelings to herself, although there will be tells that she can't hide. The occasional flustered stammer, a bit of blushing, avoiding eye contact. Susceptible to becoming very shy if referred to by a term of endearment or a "pet name."

An actual confession would only happen if there are obvious, unmistakable signs that the object of her affections reciprocates. Expect things to be a slow burn. She would take forever to decide that holding hands is even appropriate, if she had to be the first to act upon it.

Much further into a developed relationship, she would likely treat her significant other as though they're fragile and precious. Feather light touches, gentle but warm embraces, soft kisses on the forehead or cheek. She isn't typically the physically affectionate type, but the right person just might bring that side out of her. She has the delicate touch of a surgeon, and the way she traces her darling's face ever so lightly with her small, dextrous fingertips makes that obvious.
