👎Mitsurugi/Setsuka. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine Setsuka developing feelings him after tracking him down to wreak vengeance for her master in the first place. At least New Legends of Project Soul had her move on after losing a duel to him. It's a logical conclusion, in my opinion.

To be fair, I like that Mitsurugi's first impression of Setsuka in her Soul Chronicle was pretty much "Wow, cool swordsmanship!" (no pun intended). But beyond that, there isn't a lot to go from. Maybe that might sound a tad hypocritical as someone who likes Mitsu/Taki, but it's not like Taki had a personal vendetta against him.

💖 Seigfried/Salia. Here I go again. I'll try not to repeat myself too much. And yes, I'm bringing up the chart again:

Good friends. After everything that happened with Siegfried. Granted, it doesn't help that Salia is mostly off-screen, but even in the supplementary material the elements are right there... Fanworks with them together are a rarity, and in my experience they tend to be worth digging for.

Well, Siegfried/Nightmare is also a beloved fave. All my PCs have been named after him, currently we're at Siegfried the 3rd.

And well, Dante was in a few crossover FGs so I guess he does count? I'm very out of the loop with DMC, but my love for this middle-aged half demonic himbo is forever.

...does Morrigan counts as "demonically emporwered" since she's a succubus? If yes, add her too to the list!

Thanks for the ask! Soulcalibur II was my entry point into the series, so my first exposure to Siegfried was as Nightmare’s 3P, and I loved him. I’ve always been a sucker for the knight-in-shining armor aesthetic, so he was one of my go-tos as a kid. I was ecstatic when I played Soulcalibur III for the first time and learned that he had become his own character. His backstory is intriguing, his character designs are consistently great, and overall, I think he’s one of the most unique fighting game protagonists. I like him just as much now as I did back in the day, although I don’t use him as much, because I tend to prefer playing as faster characters now.

Pissed that they retconned the story in SoulCalibur VI so that Kilik was the one who finished off Inferno when in the original game Kilik collapsed after fighting Nightmare / Siegfried and it was Xianghua alone who battled Inferno and then carried Siegfried out of Ostrheinsburg Castle.

This change does nothing to further highlight Kilik's own power, as he had already proven himself by defeating Nightmare as well as rejecting Soul Edge's influence over him and only undermines Xianghua's own power as she wasn't able to defeat Inferno and save Kilik on her own this time...
