Mortal Kombat: The new Tournament: The champion’s decision

Hope you enjoy. (This is a little more dialogue heavy than the others so sorry)

“The tarkatan’s appeared through a portal and massacred several of our fellow monks, those that survived are wounded and searching for other survivors. When you didn’t appear, we feared the worst. I was about to try and find Bo Rai Cho but then you appeared.”

Liu Kang stood wordlessly as he took in the new information. He had won the tournament and Earthrealm was supposed to be safe for the next fifty years. So, what happened? 

He wasted no time in delivering these concerns to his friend. “we thought that you failed but since you are alive, it cannot be an invasion.” “Perhaps a retaliation? I cannot imagine Outworld being overjoyed at failing to conquer Earthrealm.”

Kung Lao was about to respond but was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a jet landing from the sky. this was an uncommon occurrence as sircraft was not used by the monks.

They both looked stunned as the jet door opened and out walked a man in a black suit. After a moment he spoke.

“I believe you must be Liu Kang?” “Who wants to know?” The man pulled out a business card and began to explain. “Sub Zero, of the Lin Kuei.”

Liu Kang eyed the man and the jet suspiciously. “I was unaware the Lin Kuei was modernizing. I also heard that Sub Zero died.” Sub Zero nodded in understanding as he went into greater detail.

“Unlike my brother, I embrace the technology and how it can improve our clan. I am here to complete his mission and restore honor to the lin kuei.” “My sources heard that there will be another tournament and I was told to find the contestants. If you have any information of their whereabouts, tell me now so we can find them.

Liu Kang turned towards Kung Lao, placed his hand on his shoulder, and spoke with a request.

“If there is a new tournament would you like to join me? Earthrealm needs all it can get.” Kung Lao’s eyes brightened for a moment as he bowed before his friend. “Yes, I would do well to avenge our brothers. And I need to make up for the time I missed.”

Liu kang looked at his friend with a fond smile.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Kung Lao nodded and looked around the survivors before leaving to alert them of their journey.

Liu Kang turned back towards Sub Zero and asked him a question. “I believe I know here another of the contestants are. Have you ever been to Hollywood?” The raised Eyebrow told him all he needed to know.
