Today’s replies! We’re covering a lot of topics today: some are related to our posts from this week so far, then there is one about Scott Pilgrim Takes off, and one about the Shingeki no Kyojin fanart. Let’s start with the latter one.

I remember a few years ago you were drawing a lot of snk related stuff. Do you think that you are making a comeback sometime? I feel like the fandom is much more calmer now.

Ohh that was such a long time ago and it was such fun time… well, a lot of it was stressful as hell because of the fandom and the shipwars and the non-shipping crowd who are quick to shit on artists who draw niche things; but to be honest, this isn’t the only reason why we stopped posting snk fanart. The main reason was that we were getting burnt out and wanted to consume some new media, and it’s nothing unusual or bad: it happens all the time. We dive deep into the title, have a lot of ideas, create AUs, draw and post stuff, and then after some time we move on. There are some titles that we revisit every other year or so, without diving too deep into them, and sometimes we just randomly remember about the characters and get the urge to draw something with them (we’ve done a couple of Zevi sketches even after technically stopping posting snk, as you might’ve seen).

With SnK, even though it’s been quite a few years already, I think it’s still kind of fresh in our minds, so we don’t have anything new to say with our posts or my art…yet. So I can’t really predict when we’ll come back, but you know what they say; a criminal always returns to the scene of the crime lol We love Shingeki very much, so even if it takes a long time, it’s inevitable.

Also, we are very grateful to have people who remember our stuff from back then and even wait for us, I am honestly surprised by it... So thank you so much for asking <3

Which one of the Scott Pilgrim girls do you like? And other than Todd and Wallace, which other male character do you like?

My absolute favourite is probably Julie, and it’s partially because I have the Aubrey Plaza Bias, but I also really liked what they did with her character in the anime. She has the best faces, she’s so animated and so evil. I would love the second season (that we won’t get) simply to look at her more lol

I am also super weak for Kim, she and Julie both are my “best girls”. Kim’s personality just perfectly fits the type of character that I usually like, and I really like the bitter-sweetness that comes with it.

Speaking of the anime specifically, I also really like what they did with Ramona and Roxie. Their relationship didn’t get much depth in the movie (for obvious reasons, they didn’t have time to dive deeply into any relationship), and it was very delightful to see them work through what happened between them… in a way, I guess. Plus, Roxie is an idiot and that’s awesome lol

Ep3 was too much for me in general, all the girls’ interactions were very good + oh my god Hollie’s hot.

Now for the guys… Oh, Gideon, absolutely, he is great. He is such a highlight of the movie, we adore him a lot. So it was interesting to see his trajectory in the anime, and I am very happy that he is just… naturally evil and controlling fuck lol

Matthew was very enjoyable in the anime and I’m glad he got more attention, Lucas was animated very nicely and had a couple of very funny lines. I also think I developed a soft spot for Stephen at some point lol

Yeah I’m 100% sure that Neige fell for Vil back then. Not only Vil was so cool and professional and mature, but he was also so so so pretty. Even if their characters weren’t supposed to fall in love and Neige’s character was supposed to be bullied by Vil’s character, Neige just couldn’t stop thinking about how pretty Vil is. And not a single person noticed… That’s why he’s a great actor lol

Oh good question! Other than Trey/Riddle and Azul/Idia, the first couple that comes to mind is Rook/Vil, who pretty much already feel like a couple that’s been together for quite some time. Their household situation would probably be complicated, but in general they’re each other’s partners for life I think.

I would also say ADeuce but they’re the type of couple who is always together but just can’t settle down because of some stupid reasons. Jack might steal Deuce from Ace and settle down with him lol Who else… Kalim and Jamil are stuck together, they don’t count lol

I agree, Anon! I actually wanted to mention him in the post because of that. He knows everything there is to know about aftercare and which products work the best. He is so well-prepared for that it’s almost ridiculous.

A/N: Happy Birthday Commander (big tits) Erwin Smith!!!!! I wrote him a smutty fic for his birthday last year, so I shall give him something more family-friendly and relatable xD

A: Attention

Erwin is really attentive and pays a lot of attention to small details. He's the kind of person who remembers a lot of small details, and will hardly forget his schedules and plans.

However, due to his attention to detail, some people might find that Erwin is nitpicking too much. People might also think that Erwin is micromanaging too much as he wants everything to be perfect and in order.

B: Behaviour

Erwin is always calm and collected no matter the situation. He is always polite to people younger than him and respectful to those older than him as well.

Erwin is always the most grounded in his circle of friends, and people tend to depend on him due to how knowledgeable he is too. Erwin is very sensible and intelligent, and hardly does anything that would harm his image.

C: Career

With Erwin'a charisma and great leadership, he would do well in organisations that requires discipline and order, such as the military, the police, or the navy. He would be a very persuasive and charismatic leader who leads with knowledge and compassion.

I can also foresee Erwin doing really well in a political career. He is extremely persuasive and charming, and he can easily garner support from the general public and citizens as well. Likewise, he would also stand firm in his beliefs and work for the rights of the people.

Erwin would also do well in the corporate world, such as opening up his own business, working as a financial advisor, or a fund manager. He makes daring moves and investments, and even though they might be risky, Erwin's wit always bring the organisation he is working for to new heights.

D: Dating

I think Erwin would be someone who enjoys going on classic dates like in the good olden days; a dinner and dance, a late night movie at the outdoor cinema, a walk in the park. He loves spending quality and undisturbed time with his lover, and he loves diverting all his attention to them.

However! Erwin finds thrill and excitement in other kinds of dates too; arcade dates, shopping dates, beach dates, hiking dates just to name a few. As long as he's with his lover, anywhere would always be the perfect date.

E: Energy level

Erwin's mood is always calm and relaxed, so he doesn't have random bursts of energy. He's always on-the-go, and he is always doing something.

Erwin hardly has mood swings as well, unless he is too stressed up at work. Erwin does not really like surprises and impromptu occasions, and he prefers having a plan than to work on spontaneous bursts of energy. Therefore, Erwin would also behave as such, and he is always predictable and easy to go along with.

F: Fashion

I feel that Erwin would have a preference for long sleeve shirts, knitwear, and sweaters. He would like to wear light coloured clothing too. Colours like khaki, beige, ivory, and mother-of-pearl would look very nice on him. Baby blue and sky blue would complement his eyes too.

His wardrobe has a large variety of business suits, formal wear, and also more casual button-ups and tailored trousers. Erwin's wardrobe is more colourful during the spring and summer.

I also feel that Erwin is the kind of person who collects watches, and he has many watches for different suits and occasions.

G: Games

I don't think Erwin plays a lot of games, and he isn't interested in them as well. However, he might just give in to peer pressure and join Levi and Mike on games like Counter Strike and Call of Duty.

Erwin would probably enjoy playing card games like Blackjack and Poker, and somehow he manages to bluff really well. He would also enjoy strategy games like chess, shogi, go (wei qi), and reversi.

H: Hobbies

Other than reading and chess, I think Erwin would enjoy exercising a lot. He does a mix of aerobic and anaerobic activities, and running is his favourite. He usually goes to the gym with Mike and Levi where they would help to spot one another while at the weight machines.

I think Erwin would secretly enjoy crocheting too. It's hard to see Erwin sitting down for hours crocheting something, but Erwin is really good with his hands. He sometimes crochets gifts for his lover too.

I: Interior

I can foresee Erwin's house to be really wide and spacious, with not too many decorative items and furniture. Erwin would have paintings hung on the wall, and there would be bookshelves around the house too.

Erwin's bedroom is really simple, with a single bed, a small armchair by the window accompanied by a floor lamp. Erwin spends most of his time in his study/home office, where he would spend the most effort to maintain as well.

His home office would be bright and well-lit, with bookshelves by the wall too. Erwin has a preference for white lights and he loves opening his window during the day too.

J: Jealousy

Erwin would definitely not be a jealous lover, for he trusts his partner wholeheartedly. He doesn't worry if his partner is going out with friends of the opposite sex, as long as he knows where they're going.

However, Erwin can be a little possessive, especially if he sees someone hitting on his partner. He would switch from a calm demeanour and become a little stern, exerting dominance over the other party so that they know his partner's taken.

K: Kinks

You can't deny this, but Erwin definitely has a size kink. He finds his smaller-sized partner really desirable, and he loves how protective he can get over his partner.

Also, Erwin really loves holding his partner by their waist. The subtle act of putting his hand around their waist, or on the small of their back while walking makes him feel really 'manly', and he can be protective of his lover too.

During sex, Erwin would be a really gentle and sweet lover, always making sure his partner is feeling good. However, he definitely has his rougher moments too. Erwin would enjoy taking his partner from the rear, and he would get so turned on whenever he pulls his partner up by the hair or limbs so that he can take a good look at their blissful face.

L: Love language

Erwin is someone who wouldn't hesitate to spend his money on his lover. No, he doesn't necessarily splurge, but he loves pampering his lover with purchases. If his partner sees something they really like, Erwin would buy it. Erwin would also pay for meals and desserts, for the groceries, for dates, and anything that involves finances. Erwin wouldn't let his lover spend a single cent.

Erwin would also enjoy spending undisturbed time with his lover too. I feel that Erwin would sometimes be too engrossed in work that he forgets to separate work and personal time, so he would really appreciate spending quality time with his beloved. Even though it's activities like watching tv, cooking, or even doing chores, he appreciates all the little moments spent together with his lover.

Erwin would be so good at giving his lover words of affirmation! He loves singing praises of his lover, and he loves encouraging his lover with his words too.

M: Marriage

Erwin would look forward to married life so much. To him, it's more than being lawfully wedded under the law. Getting married means a commitment to spend their lives together, and a decision to be devoted to his lover for the rest of his life. It is also a promise to be by each other's side, supporting each other in everything in life.

Erwin would have an elaborate wedding proposal; he would enlist the help of his friends to make the occasion perfect. He would probably bring his lover to a place with sentimental value; like the place the went on their very first date.

N: Nicknames

Erwin would love nicknames such as 'sweetheart', 'dear', 'darling', and 'love'. They're simple, heartfelt, and not too cheesy as well.

Erwin would probably be embarrassed if you call him names with a slight tease, like 'babe', 'handsome', or 'hot stuff'.

Erwin probably got nasty nicknames in school because of his thick prominent eyebrows, but he definitely doesn't mind them. He even thinks they're funny (Mike called him Eyebrows, Levi called him Shitty Brows).

O: Outbursts

Erwin would be pretty well-natured and doesn't have much of a bad temper, but do not make him angry! He would flare up and shout at the top of his voice when he's angry, and his anger would last a long time as well.

Erwin also does not like to be challenged, therefore he does not appreciate being questioned about his choices and actions. He would be irritated if someone showed him any doubt towards his decisions and abilities.

P: Parenting style

Erwin would be the father who always tries to educate and be there for his children, just like how his father had been there for him when he was younger. Erwin would be the role model in his children's lives, showing them all the right examples and teaching them the right values and morals.

Erwin would also have his fair share of being a fun parent without forgetting about education. He loves bringing his children to the museum, science centre, planetarium etc for them to learn and expand their knowledge while also having fun.

Erwin wouldn't have preferences for a daughter or son as well, but I feel that he might be sliiiiiiightly biased to having an elder son and a younger daughter.

Q: Quirks

Erwin would unfortunately be a snorer, a very loud one too. He's constantly working and always busy, and he snores really loudly. Sometimes he even scares himself with how loud he sounds too.

I feel that Erwin would also tend to rub his eyes a lot too, because of how dry they always are. He knows it's a bad habit, but he can't help it. He carries eye drops around with him all the time.

For some reason I feel that Erwin prefers eating white meat opposed to red meat, so you'll see him enjoying chicken and fish more than others. However, he definitely wouldn't say no to a nice steak! Erwin's favourite fish is codfish, and he likes eating seafood like shrimps too.

R: Romance

Erwin is 10/10 a very romantic lover! He would remember the dates of anniversaries and birthdays at the tip of his finger, and he would plan for these celebrations way ahead too.

Erwin would pamper his lover just the way they love and want without asking for anything in return. He would be a very devoted and loving partner as well.

During sex, I feel that Erwin would pay a lot more attention on the foreplay and build up than the actual sex. He loves to pleasure and slowly prepare his partner, and he loves making his lover feel good as well. Erwin would prefer to be the dominant one in bed, but he wouldn't oppose to switching things up once in a while too.

S: Sweets

Erwin wouldn't enjoy sweet stuff too much, but he definitely enjoys eating baked goods like cupcakes, muffins, cookies, cakes, and doughnuts. Erwin loves taking his coffee black, and it goes well when he's eating a sweet treat as well.

He would probably avoid treats like caramel popcorn, candy floss, lollipops, hard candy, or anything that has too much sugar. Erwin would also dislike anything with whipped cream as well.

T: Television

Erwin probably doesn't watch much tv, but he enjoys watching shows like Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Sherlock, and The Crown. He would also enjoy shows that are educational, like the history channels and BBC.

Erwin would prefer DC to Marvel, and he probably has a secret collection of DVDs of DC movies that no one knows about.

U: Unwind

Erwin loves to read as a form of unwinding. Magazines, bibliographies, self-help books, fiction anything! Erwin also enjoys reading the newspaper, and prefers hard copies of them than digital copies.

He also likes exercising and sweating it out. Erwin prefers aerobic activities that gets his heart pumping, like running, swimming, and cycling. Erwin usually runs about 5km to 8km each time he's out for a run.

V: Vacation

I feel that Erwin would enjoy visiting somewhere warm and sunny even though he doesn't really like the heat. Erwin loves listening to the waves, and loves being near the sea too. He would enjoy visiting countries in South East Asia, such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, or Singapore.

Erwin probably grew up in the city, therefore he would love visiting countries that have a slower-paced of living as well. He would enjoy strolling around the city, visiting historical sites and learning about the country's history, study their architecture, and learn about the cultures of the people there.

W: Weather

Erwin loves the summer! He would enjoy getting a little tan, and he loves wearing thinner shirts during the hotter days as well. He does complain about the heat occasionally, but he loves the longer summer nights.

Erwin also likes it when its windy. He loves seeing the leaves sway with the breeze, and he loves the feeling of the wind through his hair as well.

X: XOXO

Kisses with Erwin are always deep and passionate. Erwin loves kissing his lover, and he always has to kiss his lover goodbye before leaving for work.

Erwin loves cupping his lover's cheeks with his hands while they kiss, and he definitely wouldn't object to a little more tongue too. However, he wouldn't be that affectionate in public!

Erwin's hugs are really warm and comforting given how big his build is. Erwin also loves enveloping his lover in a tight hug. Whenever his lover is in a bad mood, Erwin's hugs would definitely make everything better.

Y: Yearning

Erwin wouldn't be too affected if his lover had to leave him for a while, be it an overseas work trip, or a short getaway. Erwin would constantly be in contact with his lover, making sure they're having their meals and getting enough sleep. He would constantly send them messages, and video call each other every night too.

Erwin keeps the house neat and tidy during his lover's absence, and he would want them to returning to a clean and tidy home. Erwin would reach the airport early to wait for their return, and welcome them with a big hug.

Z: Zodiac

Erwin is born on 14 October, making him a Libra. Libras are known to be very charismatic individuals, and are always the spotlight in any occasion. Libra men are also extremely charming, and you would definitely find yourself become attracted to Erwin the first time you see him.

Libras, however, are rather vain, and pay a lot of attention to their appearance. Libras might also find it hard to settle down in a relationship, as they prefer to socialise and widen their circle.

How can I discern the themes of a story? I've been trying story analysis since coming across your blog, because I found it very fascinating how you could predict things I never saw coming. I think I've got better at it but I still miss so much, then I hear someone else point it out and my brain goes of course! How could I possibly not make that connection? I think it's mainly because I can't reach the themes.

Hi! Good question! (And funny you should ask because I legit JUST wrote an article about this for my day job, like, two days ago.)

Honestly, themes are just like... the main ideas of a story. They are ideas the writer wants you to think about. It's not necessarily the same things as a moral message. It can be a moral message. But it can also be a question in more complex works. And the longer a work is, the more likely it is to have multiple themes, too!

A question theme doesn't always have an answer, either. For example, one of Lord of the Rings' themes is that it asks us how we can recover from a lot of hardship. The answer's different for every character. Sam marries and has a dozen kids. Frodo leaves Middle-earth.

If you're not sure what the theme is, here are some ideas to jump-start your thoughts!

Questions To Ask Yourself:

What do you like about the story? It's probably not just set design! What appeals to you about the characters, or what pisses you off? If you talk about stories with other people, what do you talk about?

Questions To Ask (About) The Characters:

What do the characters want/what's their goal? What do they say they want? What obstacles stand in the way of getting what they want? Here's an example of me breaking this down in HxH.

A hint: in more mature works, a common obstacle is some part of the character themselves, the human heart at war with itself. (For example, in Attack on Titan, Eren wants to save the world. He also wants to be strong on his own, and he's not actually all that strong. To save the world, then, he'll need other people... but that makes him feel weak.)

Questions To Ask About The World-Building:

Yes, world-building is very relevant. Think of A Song of Ice and Fire. In the story, if characters make mistakes, they tend to die for them--even if they're right. It literally opens in the first chapter with a man seeing the Others, telling our protagonist that he saw them, and getting executed for it. He's right, but he still dies for it. Thus, you can expect consequences along the same lines for the rest of the story--ASOIAF, SnK, etc. are not forgiving worlds. The characters who mess up, no matter how well-intentioned, are probably doomed. In a fairy tale or superhero story, like RWBY or BNHA, there's a lot more room for a character to survive.

This pattern of actions-consequences will tell you the genre, which will help you with expectations! (Genre can be very relevant for tragedies, deconstructions, etc.)

So, ask yourself: if a character dies, but he's right, then should he have done what he did? Does the author think this is bad? (Often, no!) Why does an author punish rightness with death? Is it an indictment of the character or the world? Is death a punishment at all in this story?

Questions To Ask About Framing:

Framing just tells us how to view certain events. For example, Ned Stark dies in ASOIAF, right? But did he do anything wrong? Or is it rather that the world is messed up? Some combination?

Ned does mess up. But, he also acts in a kind way that we don't see literally any other character acting with. He's concerned for innocent children, even those conceived from incest, which is very much not how the rest of the world treats kids in the story (think of how the story again opens with a child being attempted-murdered). So, he's not framed as a bad guy we should be pleased gets put down.

So, ask yourself: why did he die, then? What does this tell me about the world? About the characters? What about one similar event is different from this similar event?

Questions To Ask About The Writing:

What do the characters keep repeating throughout the story?

MHA: "I want to save people!" "I want to be a hero!" Conclusion: heroes save people.

SnK: "The world is cruel, but the world is also beautiful."

The Witcher: "destiny." (The story explores what destiny is.)

Tokyo Ghoul: "live, even if it's not stylish."

If it's repeated, that means the author wants you to think about this idea. Which means it's probs a theme.

chapter one

The celebration was one of the most lavish events you’d ever seen outside of the inner walls. There was more food than you had ever seen, even meat, desserts and some wine. People wouldn’t stop coming up to you; everyone congratulating you on your new role. You had to make the MP members laugh and impress the Commanders with your tales of outside expeditions. They all were the same. Addicted to power and shiny prizes. Interesting captains were just another thing for a commander to brag about. They were all so predictable and so boring, but it was your job and so you did it all with a smile on your face. Plus, you didn’t mind all of the attention, at least for the first few hours. But it was getting late and you were getting tired. Searching for somewhere to escape to, you found Moblit hiding in a corner with Rashad.

“Captain Azeria!” Moblit said, ruffling your hair, “Oh god please just call me Azeria its too weird!”

He laughed, his calming disposition welcome after a day of rubbing shoulders with MP’s, Commanders and other chumps. “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it. Besides, you earned it.”

“I’m just happy I survived it,” You laughed. Hange was an unconventional leader with unconventional ideas of what could be called ‘missions’. And after spending the better part of the past few years trying to capture titans alive, you had all seen your fair share of excitement. “I will miss you both so much, though. It won’t be the same being without you all every day.”

“Don’t worry, we aren’t going anywhere,” Rashad smiled, taking a bite of a cake, “I just hope you get promoted more often, they haven’t fed us like this in years.” You couldn’t help but laugh along with him; they had gone over the top for this recent round of promotions. You knew why though; they were trying to butter you up already. It annoyed you that they thought your loyalty could be bought. You thought about Erwin. It would have to be done now; no turning back. But for now, you could relax for a little while longer and enjoy the fun.

“You’d think that you’re a celebrity with a party like this,” A familiar voice said from behind you, cutting through the laughter at your table.

“Captain Levi, you’re still here,” You prodded, spinning from the bench to see his face, “I thought you would have left by now, I didn’t realize you wanted to celebrate my promotion so badly.”

“It’s nice to see your new title didn’t make you any smarter,” He snarled back, “I’m being held here against my will by Erwin, who won’t let me leave until I speak to every MP he can find. I didn’t know there were people on this earth dumber than you until talking to all of these fucking idiots from the inner wall.”

“It sound like you’re having a blast, Captain.”

“Tsk, I cant think of anything worse,” He rolled his eyes.

“Oh come on, you know that we have to make a good impression on the MP. They’re the ones that give us our budget,” You leaned over the table to grab a cup and a jug, “Here, have some wine, it will help with the torture.”

He looked at you with a disgusted face, “Why would I put that crap in my body?”

“It’s a party! It’s fun!” You smiled, but it only seemed to make him more annoyed.

“Tsk,” he scoffed, “I better not have to carry you back to your room tonight.”

“That only happened once!” Your face was flushed from the wine, and you couldn’t stop smirking, “Besides, I’m fine!”

“We’ll see,” He rolled his eyes and disappeared into the crowd. It was fun to see him so annoyed. Humanities strongest soldier couldn’t handle small talk.

Music got louder, card games got rowdier, and soon you found yourself dancing around the room and singing war songs with your fellow soldiers, even Petra joined in. Over in the corner, you saw Erwin chatting with the MP Commander. Soon, the fun would have to subside in lieu of duty, but for one last night you partied like a soldier, not a leader.

Finally after hours of music you needed to leave. The dining hall was still full of people but the rush and buzz of conversation all day had finally caught up to you, and you wandered back to your room in your tipsy state. On your way back you passed through the courtyard and let the cool night air run through your hair. It was refreshing to take those moments away from everyone. Your cheeks were hot with wine and your hair was a tousled mess, but you were so happy. All of those years of fighting hard were finally paying off, and tomorrow you’d have your first day as Third Squad Captain. You’d have to enjoy these few moments of bliss, because who knew when you’d be out on another expedition, losing even more soldiers. But you didn’t want to think on it right now.

“Look who managed to walk this far,” Levi’s voiced echoed down the hall. “You’re still up? How did I leave the party before you?” You asked, your words filled with tipsy giggles.

“Beats me,” He shrugged. You laughed, “I can’t believe it, the grumpiest man in the military lasted longer at a party than me!”

“I cant believe the most immature brat in the military became a captain today,” He rolled his eyes. You laughed again, “That’s right! Aaaannnd I’m coming for your squad next!”

He finally let out a smile, “That’s funny. I’d like to see you try.”

You were about to say something, but suddenly the wine had finally decided enough was enough. “Oh no- Im gonna-“ you ran half-hazardly over to the fence, leaned over the railing and puked.

“This is a nice look for our newest Captain” he said sarcastically, “And you were trying to feed me that garbage all night,” Levi walked over to help hold your hair. “Oh shut up! Its my party I’m allowed to celebrate! Ugh… this is going to suck in the morning,” You coughed as you leaned over the railing, Levi was behind you steadying your stand. This was not the first time you’d gotten drunk at a party, nor was it the first time that the smug asshole had held your hair for you afterward. You were just mad that he was right, and you were still acting like a child instead of a leader.

“It was partially your party, don’t get cocky. You sure drank like it was all for you,” you leaned yourself back to standing, tired and ready to sleep, “Are you good to walk back to your room or will you wander yourself into the horse stables tonight?”

“Hey that only happened once!” You sneered and shook your arms from his assistance and brushed out your hair, “I am fine. But if you’d like to join me - for the conversation; not because I’m drunk- then you may.”

He let out a laugh, “Okay come on brat, let’s go.”

You walked down past the stables and through the many bunk rooms for the soldiers. The perks of being squad leader meant having your own room. After all those years with bunk mates, you had forgotten how nice it was to get a full uninterrupted sleep without roommates snoring on all sides. The only downside was that it was so much farther from the dining hall. Still, the walk back was nice, and the breeze and star filled sky made up for the distance.

“How was the rest of your evening?” You asked, trying to act less drunk than you were really feeling.

“Awful. I really don’t know how you and Erwin can handle dealing with that bullshit. Those bastards wouldn’t know their head from their ass,” He paused, looking back towards the horses, “Everyone wouldn’t stop talking about you. You’ve turned into a damn celebrity”

You smirked, it was strange to ever hear Levi acknowledge something nice about you. You didn’t even know what to say back, so you both walked the rest of the way quietly, watching the torches pass by until you finally reached your building. He opened the door in and walked you up the stairs to your apartment.

“Wow, I didn’t know you were such a gentleman,” You laughed, playfully smacking his arm as he walked you up the stairs. “Shut up, brat. Next time you can walk alone.”

“Okay, Levi,” You mocked and giggled until you reached your front door. It swung open and after a long never ending day and too much wine, you couldn’t wait to fall asleep. “Goodnight, Captain,” You said and turned to face him.

“Goodnight, moron,” He scoffed, as you closed the door.

“-By the way..” He said, stopping the door using a palm to hold it open. It startled you a little and you looked at him. His dark grey eyes held a strange expression, and his face was paused in thought, looking at you.

“Congratulations. Not bad for a fool like you,” he muttered. You blushed a little, and when he noticed he turned away, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Oh. Thank you,” you said, letting the surprise show on your face. Looking at him you realized that it had been so long since the two of you had talked alone. Your heart ached a little, thinking back on all of the years you’d spent fighting together, “I couldn’t have done it without you.”

He looked you in the eyes now, his face softening into a smile, “I know. You would have been titan puke by now.”

“Hey give me some credit! I was top of the training cadets without your help,” You rolled your eyes, he was always so annoying.

“You don’t let me forget it. Let me remind you that I’m the reason why you ever met Erwin,” He teased.

“Oh gosh remember how bad I was back then?” You laughed. Levi smirked, “Back then? You’re still shit.”

Sometimes, you missed moments like this with him. Nowadays things were so busy, it seemed like you never got to just talk.

“I miss those days. Things are so complicated now,” you wanted to reach out and touch him. He sighed, “I miss them too.”

He paused and gave you a look that made your heart beat fast in your chest. “Levi,” you stepped closer to him and let your fingers touch his cravat. He didn’t move, but his he let his eyes shift down to your fingers, “I can’t imagine my life without you. I guess you’re just stuck with me now,” you smiled, cheeks rosy from the wine.

His grey eyes gazed into yours, his dark hair falling across his face. He softened his look and smoothed out the part of your cape that hung on your shoulders, “You were never good about keeping this thing ironed. How many times do I need to remind you to keep your uniform tidy?” You smiled back at him, “Maybe just a few more times.”

“It’s getting late. Tomorrow’s your first day and we’ve got paperwork to do.” He cleared his throat and shifted himself away from you, gesturing to your bed.

You groaned, “I hate paperwork.”

“You’ll learn to love it. ‘Night Captain.” He said, giving you a wave. “Goodnight, Captain,” you said, smiling even if you felt a little sad.

You closed the door and finally got undressed and into your cotton night clothes. The moon was peeking into your window and as you laid on your bed, you couldn’t help but stare at it in longing. Levi Ackerman. After all of this time, after everything that’s happened, I am still so hopelessly in love with you.

I kept seeing requests and predictions to guest teams for KOF 15. Things like a Street Fighter team with Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li or a Tekken team. The mobile game KOF Allstars did that. While those are all well and dandy, I kinda want a team that has 3 characters from 3 different franchises. This is the team I'd personally like to see if SNK followed this idea of mine. It would pretty much be the only way to get all these characters into one game together.

There was what you put on the survey, but what characters do you think are most likely for the 2nd pass, and which do you want? (The way they mentioned it seemed guests may happen)

My impression is that they mentioned side characters a lot so as to cover all the bases, but I really don't think characters like Daryl or Erica might be playable compared to more popularly demanded characters who have appeared in past games.

Of course, even my predictions are wrong sometimes (Baiken showed up in Samurai Shodown and KOF Allstars among other things). I was actually thinking Nagoriyuki would've joined Samurai Shodown's roster instead (since he already existed in Feudal Japan beforehand).

On the possibility that guest characters would show up in Guilty Gear… GGStrive would be the absolute FIRST game in the series to actually go that far, so it's difficult to say what results they could come up with.

Though, if I had to list a few ideas that come to mind:

Bastard!! (Dark Schneider?)

Berserk (Guts in his Berserker Armor)

Nier (Still popular, especially 2B, even in the Soul Calibur Scene)

Samurai Shodown (Since SNK made Baiken a guest, it would only make sense for another SamSho character to make a reverse appearance… Asura from SamSho 64 would be a good pick.)

BlazBlue (Ragna=the=Bloodedge would be an easy pick).

Code Vein/God Eater (These two games share a lot of parallels with Guilty Gear's Universe, so they could easily make the leap).

Disgaea (Another possible crossover… there's a great deal of interesting characters in that series to match in GG's world of vampires, demons, and ghosts.)

Anyway, those are only possible choices... what they actually end up doing is still up in the air.

(And they still need to fix some aspects of the PC version, since the current patch seems to have rendered it virtually unplayable on my PC at least... don't worry, I sent in a report.)

At the end of the day, my top picks are Izuna, Paradigm, Bedman, and Justice, since they almost never get a showing.

Attack on Titan Review!

Well, this day had to come at some point, right? The day when I review the so-called best anime of all time... If you've spent even a second on this planet since 2013, you must have heard of it at least once. I'm obviously talking about Attack on Titan, also known as AOT, or Shingeki no Kyojin (SNK) in Japanese. I could be playful and say it could also be called "Attack on Traitors" or "Attack on Hypocrites" but I won't.

Does it need introducing? Obviously not, but I'm still going to do it. Well, AOT is an action anime (originally a manga, of course) dealing with the world of the military. It is composed of four seasons of varying lengths: Season One is twenty-five episodes long, Season Two is twelve episodes long, Season Three is split into two parts of respectively twelve and ten episodes, and Season Four, the final season, has aired in two parts of sixteen and twelve episodes. Note that this anime is not yet over (gotta make that sweet money, eh?) and that a third part for Season Four will air in 2023.

With that said, I won't go too much into detail about every season, as it would be very difficult to do without spoilers, and I always keep my anime reviews spoiler-free. Nevertheless, I can safely say that this anime will catch you off-guard quite a many times. There are plot twists everywhere, some predictable, some not. Some plot twists actually pull a fast one on you and end up being decoys.

About the plot... Well, it's obviously good. People don't call AOT the best anime ever for nothing, after all. It's told extremely well, the ambience is spectacular, and the attention to detail is clear. However, I prefer to warn: this isn't your traditional combat anime which you can watch without using your brain. You'll get lost if you don't pay attention, so please do. By that, I mean that the plot has a tendency to get complicated at times. Luckily, important details are heavily insisted upon. I do regret that a dose of BS and cliché was added in Season Four, as it taints the nearly flawless plot of Seasons One through Three. Also, do not be surprised if you notice some parallels to some... real historical events, let's just say. Finally, don't get me started on how superb the second part of Season Three is, alright?

Now, the OST is as good as you would expect from such a praised anime. Some openings have earned legendary status, and it is well-deserved. The way the music allows to raise the tension during the most important scenes is not to be underrated. It seriously makes you feel hyped. The animation truly has its own style, which you won't see anywhere else. It's extremely pretty, although there are a few scenes with horrible 3D effects, and I mean that. Some fighting scenes are beautifully animated, though. Not on a Demon Slayer level, but very pretty, nonetheless.

But of course, what makes a good anime is a cast of good characters. Well, Attack on Titan has its fair share of memorable, unforgettable characters, the names of whom you must have already heard at least once. Eren Yeager, anyone? Yeah, that guy. Possibly the most famous protagonist in 21st century anime, along with a certain Light Yagami. Now, about half of the cast is made of assholes, but I can't deny that some of them are written well. Still, you can't get them all right, and a few absolutely suck, as you'll see in the tierlist. It's not a majority, though, and you grow attached to the main cast quickly - possibly too much, actually. Don't get too attached to the side characters, though: they'll be dead before you know it. Now, this doesn't hold true at all for the main cast, and this lets me mention maybe this anime's biggest issue: plot armor. I swear, it gets absurd after some time, especially in the final season, which is regrettable. Character dynamics are pretty interesting, especially between the most important characters. I'd say the characters are developed well, too, although obviously not equally.

In the end, Attack on Titan is good. Really good. Extremely good. If you don't believe me, I suggest you watch it for yourselves. Now, is it the best anime of all time, as is it often claimed? Who knows? Maybe it is for eleven months of the year, but you're free to disagree.

tbh I wouldn't even say I'm "trying" to watch anything this season lmao I gave up trying to keep up a very long time ago. the only one I even remotely tried keeping up with was Spy x Family, but even that one I fell behind on after a few episodes despite how much I enjoy the series. I'll definitely catch up with that one once the season is done airing though.

yeah Christmas music is such an important part of the season for me but I have a pretty specific taste in that genre of music haha which I why I have a playlist. living in a place that gets lots of snow can be really nice because it's so pretty and it makes the Christmas season even better, but it can definitely be a huge hindrance too for sure. we hardly ever got significant snowfall back where I grew up, so white Christmases were never really a thing when I was a kid so it's been nice to have them as an adult~

I mean, I struggle to even watch the shorter stuff that's been on my to-watch list for YEARS so I honestly doubt One Piece will ever happen for me. xD but hey, who knows! I know plenty of people who absolutely love it, and my brother also enjoys it, so who knows what the future will bring haha.

as for faves regarding HQ!! and SNK, Hinata and Kageyama and my babies and I adore them with every fiber of my being, but I also really love Kuroo and Nishinoya, and Mikasa and Levi are my queen and king~ what about you?? we've talked a lot about BNHA but who are some other fave characters of yours?

and yeah I totally agree with you regarding Hawks, he deserves so much more love and appreciation. he's been through so much shit throughout his life and he tries SO HARD to do good however he can despite constantly being manipulated by the HPSC and forced to do things that he doesn't necessarily want to do. speaking of Endeavor though... what are your thoughts on him? 👀 I personally can't stand him and the fact that Hawks as a character is so linked to him throughout the story just... hrg;kahgrjabs I absolutely hate it and I do wish we had seen SOME sort of backlash after Dabi's broadcast, especially from Hawks himself, but nothing seems to have changed at all?? I'd love to hear your thoughts regarding that whole situation~

Oh hell yeah, all your HQ favs are my favs too!! lol. Hinata is a complete sunshine and literally deserves everything good in the world. I think he's so motivational and really makes you feel like you can do anything haha. And Kageyama was my love at first sight in HQ bcus I have a type and his misunderstood personality speaks to me alsjdkkdd lol. I also love his character development a lot. And Kuroo, his personality, his looks...he's perfect. I also predictably loved that Kuroo's VA in japanese is also Hawks'. ^^ And Nishinoya is just so damn cool and reliable, he's the best! Anyways I really love almost everyone in HQ tho, sports anime always makes me feel that way lol. Idk if you've seen Run with the Wind, but it reminds me a lot of HQ too, so I highly recommend. It's only one season and the main character is such a Kageyama clone too but the story is very satisfying. 💛

And for SNK, Levi and Eren have been my favs since 2013 lol. I love their tragic pasts bound by duty, the way they grew up how no one should've, their personality and need to be free, I love that they never give up and their dynamics with each other. SNK's plot of no clear cut black and white of villains, but watching Eren go from hero to antihero, was incredibly interesting. And at the end of the day, despite what he does is unforgiveably wrong...he just wanted to protect the people most important to him and its really an impossible choice. And Levi is one of the biggest badass so I liked him instantly. When you think super cool character, its easily him!! But you also learn his mistakes, his flaws, his emotions that crack through his inital cold exterior when he's anything but. And like that just makes me feel things, they're both very much human with the weight of too much on their shoulders despite the monsters they're described to be. So I have a very soft spot for them even though I don't paritucularly enjoy the fandom anymore (it turned too toxic). 😅

Besides the favs I mentioned on my last ask, hmm to expand on some of them, one of the reason I like Trafalgar Law from One Piece is because he reminds me a LOT of Levi tbh lolol 😉. The tragic past, the personality, the way he's so damn cool when he fights ...and they even have the same VA too. 😂

And to mention a few more favs,

FMAB - I loveeee Roy Mustang and Ed Elric most but also Greed/Ling.

MP 100 - Ughh I'm deep in feels since the anime just ended 🥲 but MOB is so precious.

Anyways!! OH MAN, my thoughts on Hawks and Endeavor..hahah. So I don't like Endeavor at all, but I also don't really think about him much and it doesn't bother me that Hawks is there and interacts with him in the plot because to me it speaks volumes about Hawks' character and not Endeavor. I know there's a lot of people mad that we don't see Hawks react negatively to the situation after Dabi's broadcast. But I also think people have to realize they're in the middle of literal war. Hawks, who has always been manipulated, conditioned and grew up in non conventional ways, who had probably never processed anything in his life—from his personal abuse from his parents and HSPC to what he had to do as a solider and probably a lot more if we look at Lady Nagants' hints, I think hes very good at ignoring his own feelings. He's the fastest hero literally also because I think he never takes a moment to stop, to breathe. He's always in fight for survival mode, he's always trying to do the next thing, to "be of use" (and I think after being told "what use are you" as a kid, he can't help but do this) and it shows. Even when we see him after the injures from Dabi, he's barely recovered but he's already up and about without his voice before, and now with prosthetic wings on a battlefield with the main villain. He'll really do anything including shoving his own feelings away if it means helping everyone else and he's just doing what he's always been taught to do—focus on the mission (AFO in this case). Given the war, of course he still helps Endeavor fight. But beyond that I think he says if he wants to change he'll help is because think about it -- Hawks own parents never did this. He never got answers, he never got any form of redemption from them, they never so much as apologized or recognized him in his entire life. So seeing Endeavor trying to do that? I think Hawks is very much projecting himself into Todorokis family, because he never had someone even try in his own family to reconcile on him. And he himself feels like *he's* the one that turned his back on his parents, when it was obviously the other way around. There's a lot of complicated layers and history that I think people have to understand about Hawks that makes him do what he does. I of course would LOVE to see him break down and react to everything that's ever happened to him and I hope they'll show it, but we'll see. I like mostly of where the plot is and I think there's still room for a lot of what's to come including Hawks changing/processing everything.

I feel like there will be a breaking point soon, where the "old" heroes and society will see how they've been wrong all along. It's not heroes vs. villains when a lot of the villains have been mistreated and discarded by society. I very much think the theme here is, changing and helping people like Toga, Dabi. Shigaraki who was not inherently evil the way AFO is. And that includes Hawks changing, consequences for Endeavor (I hope, after this basially apocalypse theyre fighting to end.) That's my thoughts anyways lol.
