Yandere class 1-a (Mostly poly)

Plot: What is class 1A like as yandere?

Note: This is a poly class, some aren’t romantic, but they share you. More coming like this a series one the way. Hagakure/Mineta not included

Yandere type: Medium-Soft

Dekusquad. Bakusqaud. (Coming soon)

Being the darling of a whole class of yanderes isn’t as bad as you think. They all have their moments of being overly obsessed and protective of you but they still didn’t go too far.

It all started when you entered the class room a few weeks after school started. When they saw you they just knew that you were special. From the way you looked so flustered and shy, to the way your voice sounded. And how beautiful you looked.

Next thing you know the whole class is shouting at you and wanting to get to know you. You formed a special bond with each and everyone one of them over time.

The ones who have romantic feelings for you are: Iida, Bakugou, Kirishima, Izuku, Denki, Ojiro, Todoroki, Sero, Mina, Ochako, Jirou, Momo, Hagakure.

The ones who have a romantic feels but don’t like everything a “relationship” has to offer: Shouji, Tokoyami.

Then the ones who care for you above all else but in a platonic way: Kouda, Satou, Aoyama, Tsu.

The girls try to pull you away all the time because they can say“It’s a girl day and we trust them” and just steal you away from any of the boys. (If you’re a male that’s why they say they trust you)

Sleepovers every week because they get to spend the whole night with you. They feel like they can protect you while you’re with them. Also it’s just a fun night. Cuddle puddles always happen because they can’t keep their hands away.

The boys are a little bit of a different story since they like to break up into different teams or stay by their selfs. But they still have different takes on how they spend their time with you, either it be all together or alone.

Todoroki or iida take you shopping, or they do together. Sugar baby? Yes you are.

Shouji and Tokoyami like to take you out somewhere quiet and just have a small cute time.

Bakugou and Kirishima spend time with you together mostly to show off- Bakugou is okay with sharing but he still gets mad sometimes. And Kirishima is the only one he doesn’t get too jealous over.

The rest of the boys usually just only pair up if they want to do the same thing or if you want to hang out with more of them.

Sleep overs at the boys are also a little different, you usually are at one of their dorms. You only have big sleeps overs with the bakusquad boys, dekusquad boys, or the rest of them. Because it will get competitive very fast.

Possessive. That’s it. You’re theirs in a way, so no one will ever take you away from them.

You get dragged away a lot from anyone else who wants your time. But sometimes they let it slide because it’s needed for you but they will all glare at who ever your talking to. They steal you away as soon as they can.

Like a pro hero, class b..they really hate them, teachers, some other students. Ext, you name it.

One of them stays outside on your balcony to make sure no one breaks in, or they put a camera out there. Not looking in on you because they know to give you privacy. Once you start dating them, one, if not more, of them is always in your room or you’re in theirs.

Shielding you when villains attacked. Or when you’re out and about in school they are always with you.

What are they all like individually? (Doing the ones I might not do in other hc’s)

Kouda is the sweetest yandere you will ever met, He just wants to protect you and make you happy. You’re so sweet to him when you first met and he now make sure you’re happy. So he just likes to show you his animal friends because you guys bond over it.

Satou is also every sweet and I see him as a affectionate person. Likes to pick you up in his arms and hugs you when ever he sees you. Just like Kouda in wanting to protect you and make you happy. Makes you sweets all the time and you guys bake together. Iida lectures him about feeding you so much sugar.

Ojiro is a chill loving baby, all he wants to do is protect you. He also will blush every time you are around him because he just can’t take how cute you are, making his heart rush. Is more of a quite type and will do his tendencies in the shadows. He can’t risk you finding out. But he loves to wrap his tail around you and make sure you’re okay all the time.

Aoyama, is your bestie. He loves to show off, himself or you. Hyping you up and telling you how beautiful you are and how your quirk is amazing (What ever it’s is, even if it’s small). Is literally just a very good friend! Face masks, giving you cheese…Just remember he is always taking pictures of you and him. Be prepared.

Froppy is like a protective sister. She protects you like family and wants to be around you. She loves to cuddle up next to you and just watch you shine. She also protects you from everyone else if she needs to! She will hype you up in small ways and is like the cute friend who just cares. But is also very badass when she needs to be, so if you’re ever in trouble she’s got your back.

Shouji is a big guard dog, who’s also a teddy bear? Yes. Stands behind you and stares at anyone to keep them away if needed. He also loves to hold you in his arms or anything you allow him to do. He is also every sweet and likes to make you laugh and smile. Please give him affection back.

Jirou is very chill, kinda. She likes to hang out with you but if you complement her she will shout down. She loves to do things just to get your attention, also loves to teach you how to play instruments just so that she can hold you close. Is more of your cute goth girlfriend.

Momo is mama bear and you’re her baby. She is a lot like iida. She makes sure you’re doing everything you can and at the top of your game. Buys you everything you need and even if you don’t need it, you’re getting it. Loves to show you off like her little precious thing and everyone else loves when she does it.

They are all obsessed with you so good luck.

YUGA AOYAMA

Smells, for lack of a better term, feminine

There's of course the smallest trace of cheese but we don't talk about that

We do not tolerate Aoyama Yuga slander in this household 😤

But he smells like really expensive feminine perfume

There's like floral scents along with this hint of almost sweetness?

MINA ASHIDO

Girl is spicy

Not too much

It's residual acid that adds the spiciness

But other than that

She smells like candy

You know the smell of strawberry taffy?

ASUI TSUYU

Ever been out by a lake at night with the crisp, cool air and you can't help but breathe in deeply?

She reminds you of lazy days, sitting with your legs in the lake

TENYA IIDA

I'm not gonna lie to y'all

He smells like smoke and sweat

His engines are part of his body, naturally he's gonna smell like an engine

And that reciprocal burst?

That works up a SWEAT

He's very hygienic though

He showers often because he can't tarnish the Iida name by smelling bad

So you can always smell the exhaust but more often than not, you smell his soap too

She smells like how bubbles make you feel

Just the simple euphoria that popping bubbles brings

I like to imagine he smells like sage and cinnamon

Denki Kaminari X Shy Male Reader

Your eyes were stuck between looking at the board, looking at Denki, and then back down to your work. You know you shouldn’t be focusing on Denki so much; you should be paying attention to what Ectoplasm was saying but you couldn’t help it. Denki was an idiot, but you wanted him to be your idiot. You shook your head when you noticed you zoned out looking at him and tried to duck to hide the blush you knew was on your face. You huffed out before looking back up at ectoplasm when he gave us questions to complete. You pouted not in the mood to do all this work but, whatever. You turned back down to your work choosing to ignore the chatter of your classmates. You are startled at a tap on your shoulder turning to smile at Kouda. The two of you were the shyest people in the class so you guess that’s why the two of you connected so well. He began to sign discreetly to you

‘Are you okay? You seem to be a little on edge.’ Bless this boy’s beautiful, sweetheart. You really hope that his crush on Tokoyami was reciprocated. They would make a very cute couple.

‘I’m doing okay just keep getting distracted by Kaminari. I wish I can talk more with him without backing down or getting all quiet.’ Kouda was the only one you were comfortable with expressing your feelings to. In his own little way, he would push you but, he never told anyone else about your crush. He, Shoji, Tokoyami, and Ojiro wouldn’t open their mouth to anyone but, they would tease him in their own little ways.

‘You’re going to have to catch him alone if you want to talk. I know you don’t want to talk to him in front of his friends because they would just make it worse.’ You nodded your head looking around and stifling a yelp when you saw Bakugo staring directly at you. You felt an embarrassed flush crawl up your neck to your face that became worse when he smirked at you.

‘I think he saw us.’ You were trying not to panic but, you were panicking. Bakugo was the only one who knew sign language in the class so the idea of him finding out and telling Kaminari was sending you into a spiral

‘It’s okay, it’s okay.’ Koda was signing quickly so he can pull you into a hug. He wasn’t one for PDA but, he made an exception whenever you or Toko were going into a panic or frenzy. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Tokoyami staring at you for a couple of seconds before his attention went back to Shoji who also glanced at you. You hate to worry them but, your panics were always so weird to deal with and annoying. Once you calmed down and became aware of your surroundings that’s when you looked around and saw that Kaminari had a frown on his face while looking at you. You guess this was your time to die then. He tilted his head and rose an eyebrow at you trying to signal without drawing attention to you if you were okay. Thank God he had enough sense to do that for you cause if anyone saw how you were reacting to Bakugo possibly finding out about your crush you would have been mortified. You nodded your head in affirmation giving a small smile that seemed to placate him for the time being. Everyone’s attention went back to Ectoplasm and the rest of the classes before lunch went by smoothly. Now lunch was a whole different ball game. You were standing in line just waiting to get your food when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned expecting to see one of your friends, but your face blew up in red at who it was. It was Denki! He was standing there with a tray smiling at you. He was a few inches taller than you but, you didn’t mind you found it cute when you would daydream about the two of you together.

“Hey Y/N! I wanted to talk to you for a while, but I never got a chance today.” What was this? Why was he talking to you when he had the Baku-squad to talk to? You were happy beyond ecstatic but, you were just curious that he would want to talk to you.

“S-sure, um, how come you aren’t w-with your other f-friends?” You just had to make sure that this wasn’t an obligation or something. You were head over heels for him, not a dumbass now.

“I’m always hanging out with them they won’t miss me. Besides, I always wanted to hang out with you, but you were always with your friends, so I just never intruded.” Denki was very perceptive when needed to be. You figured he wasn’t all that stupid if he got into the U.A heroics department.

“W-well to be fair we both w-were always with our friends. I-I-I wanted t-t-to talk to you too.” Your stuttering was coming out more and more in front of you and you were worried that he may have seen you as an idiot.

“That’s great! Let’s get our food and find a table to sit at.” You didn’t know what was going on at all. You did as he told, and you waited for him to grab his food. He had his tray in one hand and with his other, he grabbed yours and led you to a table. You passed by your group of friends who simply smiled and gave you a thumbs-up. Your face was permanently scarlet as Denki passed by his friends who were talking amongst each other but, out of the corner of your eye, you saw Bakugo staring and grinning. That little bastard told Denki something. He has that stupid shit-eating grin on his face.

“We can sit here L/N-Chan” Why did he have to call you Chan and why was that nickname so cute? As if your face couldn’t get any redder. Instead of sitting across from you, he sat directly next to you. There goes your heart. Not surprisingly he was a great conversationalist and he roped you into one about everything. It was little things about yourself such as what’s your favorite color, animal, movie, hero, tv show, and stuff like that.

“I n-never thought you would be i-interested in anything I d-do. It’s n-nice though that you are.” Your stuttering was going down the more you talked with him but, it was still there.

“I always was it’s just that I thought you never liked me, but I see that’s not the case.” Your head swiveled up to look at him before frowning. What made him think you didn’t like him?

“Of course, I like you always did. I have a crush on you.” You slapped a hand on your mouth staring wide-eyed at Denki who also froze. Great Y/N. Just had to open your mouth. “I’m l-leaving.” You went to get up but were pulled back down on the bench almost on top of Kaminari. “D-Denki?” You were confused as to why he wasn’t trying to get away from you. The weird kid in the class just confessed to him.

“Please don’t go anywhere you didn’t even listen to what I have to say.” You froze not knowing what to do but, decided to relax a bit and listen to him. You didn’t pay any mind to the fact that he was now holding your hand knowing you weren’t going anywhere. “I was always interested in you. Always. You were just so shy, and I didn’t want to scare you off. I always caught you out the corner of my eye looking at me and the little doodles in your notebook.” You felt yourself flush brighter and all he did was just smirk at you. “My suspicions were confirmed when Bakugo told me what you were telling Kouda.” That bastard did see you. Well, it seemed to have played in your favor though. “I texted your friends that I was going to talk to you about this and they were fine with it also.” So just everyone was in it huh? “I know this is a lot to take in at once but, we can go at your pace there is no rush.” You thought about it for a second staring straight into his eyes. You stared for a few to see if he was lying but, he wasn’t. He genuinely wanted to be with you and was willing to be patient. You gave a warbled smile burying yourself into his chest

“That sounds nice.” You weren’t eloquent with words but, when he wrapped his arms around you tightly you knew you made the right choice.

Asshole shouji

Honestly I can see being anti-mutant in a way. Very internalized thanks to how he was treated and he doesn't talk about it like at all, but he is. And I can see him dismissing others due to it. He thinks that he, Tokoyami, Mina, Kouda and so on will never be great heroes, or that they'll end up on various lists about 'villain looking heroes'. And his actions prove it because he looks to non-mutant people first.

In this particular AU, having Izuku be a mutant Quirk user, and having him try to get Shouji to listen only for the guy to default to Bakugou whose run off, and the other students listening to Shouji in some exercise would be interesting. It's some team thing, and the only reason they won is because Izuku, Kaminari and Sato all worked together. It's pointed out, and Izuku explains the othe two didn't listen despite Izuku being team leader.

Bakugou is who he is, but Shouji inadvertently admits his biases. And he does NOT give up. He's refusing to admit he'd wrong, or that it's toxic. How he talks makes the class feel for him. Yet he's still an asshole in that he refuses to change. It just hurts him as much as it hurts other.

i did not realize previously to picking these characters out that i would give them almost all the same favorite jojo but i can defend my decisions and every reason i have for the answer is different

katsuki bakugou:

•knows what it is, has read the entire series AND WILL STRAIGHT UP LIE ABOUT IT FOR MONTHS!!!! his fav jojo is jotaro and his fav jobro is abbachio

•like. im so serious he will lie about it. if you ever bring it up he never involves himself in the conversation. only told you after a few months when y'all started getting closer and closer to dating <3

•doesn't have anything to say about your merchandise. might judge you for having so much but that's it. might even have his own merch

•won't mind that you jojo pose but will bitch about it

•he will judge you but still leave little jojos related things around where you will find them instead of giving them to you like a normal person

izuku midoriya:

knows what it is, loves it, and will absolutely fanboy over it with you!!! favorite jojo is giorno and favorite jobro is bruno or koichi

•will absolutely cosplay with you and do all types of stuff you want him to do. maybe one of the only people who can do the dio backbend.

•will cry in joy at seeing your collection, finally a fan just like him <3 his lil fanboy heart explodes when he sees your room for the first time!

•100% jojo poses with you and can do really complicated ones. (he does them to impress u like the cutie he is) so he will for sure do them in pictures with you too.

•y'all's dates are pretty much just going to merchandise stores for your respective interests tbh.

•honestly might be the second most excited about your collection. deku is the first duh. bc i think aoyama would be super into collecting items esp cheese and just because he might not collect long lasting stuff doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate a good collection!!

•loves jojo posing with you in pictures, will do any that you ask him to do, you didn't even have to ask him to join you before he just. did it himself.

All might really outshined mina's qurik with his OP suit's imitation like it was nothing lmao. That was one of my concerns, all might being able to outshine the actual quirks of class 1a (quirks in general tbh) with his imitations and I hate it.

I personally don't have a problem with tech outshining quirks. It never made sense to me why someone like Ojirou would be automatically stronger than a guy with a machine gun. Of course there are OP quirks, just as there is OP technology, but in the end it should be about the balance of power, skill, strategy, the battleground, circumstances that decide the fight, and not the one with the more powerful quirk winning automatically.

I mean, we are talking of a manga, where Deku, with no prior athletic ability and only 8 months beach training was able to keep pace at the obstacle course with all his quirked classmates, including those with speed and mobility boosts, and somehow managed to overcome the top 2 students with a rudimentary invention.

So, for me the existence of the suit in itself is not the problem. It does feel however like a bit of an empty HAX however in All Might's case, because the build-up is just not there.

Let's remember that All Might had both the suit and Hercules when he left with Deku during the Dark Hero arc, approximately 1 week after the PLF war ended. This means, All Might already somehow had the suit that is an homage to the class 1-a quirks, at a time, when he ditched class 1-a without a second thought, thinking that Deku as the OFA-holder should follow in All Might's footsteps as a solo hero to beat AFO.

It was only after Class A vs OFA and after meeting Stain that All Might was reminded of his origins and started to have faith in all of his students (not just Deku) and started to accept that he would have a place in the final war as an active participant, someone who could contribute despite his quirklessness.

I can picture the post-Stain meeting All Might going to David and Melissa Shield to ask for a suit with specifications to imitate his students moves. But the suit predates this moment. And before that, All Might had not really interacted with the others, nor did he have a lot of focus on their quirks.

So I could not see All Might before the final arc ordering a suit like that, but if he had a suit, it probably would have relied on imitating his own previous fighting style.

So, even if we don't think about things like design cycles, the "aha" moment of an invention being a fun aspect of tech based heroes, just even the nostalgia value feels a bit hollow, because there was too little build-up for it to be believable that All Might would go out of his way to have a mechanic crow to copy Kouda's quirk (with whom he never interacted) rather than just have another mini-missile or something.

And on the design side, since the Shields have no connection to the wider class A (Melissa only worked together with a few of them), there is really no rationale for the scientists either to use those specific quirks.

It's a cool gimmick overall, but that's what it feels like to me - a cheap gimmick, rather than letting All Might's own arc develop in a more organic way and have the connections he's truly built up until the birth of the suit shine (e.g. the suit imitating only a limited number of students, mainly Black Whip, possibly Explosion, have Gran Torino and Nana for mobility, etc.).

But overall, I think this suit would have been an awesome endgame thing for Deku (at a different power-scaling). Because for him, it would have made full sense to use all of Class A's quirks, to figure out combos - I could definitely picture him better with this equipment.

I can't speak for POC but this latest MHA chapter feels, gross??? It feels like it's taking some stuff from the Black Lives Matter protests, but also turning it super violent and horrible

Exactly. If Hori was going to use something like this in the story he should have either never had mutant characters to the sorta-core cast like Shouji Kouda and Toko or even Ectoplasm and Cementoss, or he should have brought it up with them earlier on. As it is its pretty clear that he brought this up to try an make Spinner seem more sympathetic specifically. He does this way too much.

Its not Togas fault shes like this her Quirk makes her like this (we'll ignore all the characters that also have scary Quirks that youd think might influence their personality (cough cough Tokoyami whose Quirk is literally sentient))

Spinner has been discriminated against his whole life for being a mutant (please ignore all the other mutant characters weve had in the story before this was brought up that have never dealt with this kind of thing)

Shinso was discriminated for his villainous like Quirk thats why he couldnt be in the hero course or whatever (Please ignore the other characters with villainous Quirks that have no problems or even someone like Kouda whos arguably got the same Quirk but worse suited for Heroics because he lives in the city so at best he can control like small birds and rats so how did Kouda pass but he couldnt? WHO KNOWS.)

Stain talks about the corruption of hero society and now weve had it shoved down our throats... the fact weve never seen any heroes do anything particularly bad... except Endeavor who IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON NOW NO SERIOUSLY HES A PRETTY COOL GUY NOW LETS JUST LET IT GO who the fuck is Shoto? ...weve in fact seen heroes even 'selfish heroes who are hero-ing for the wrong reasons' fight tooth and nail to protect innocent people and the Hero Commission... ??? like?? Who the fuck were they? We have no idea they did some shady stuff right? ???? WHO?

I just... Its so dumb.

MHA Class 1-A ProHero Headcannons

Because I wanna pretend Manga Chapter 362 isnt happening LOL. I was just texting these to a friend but thought I’d put them here too. So not too detailed or based on much, just for fun :)

Also I’m ignoring a lot of Manga stuff and spelling oofs. And ALSO also, two students dont get a happy ending :( just fyi.

Bakugou Katsuki: Bakugou wpuld be ranked #2 because theres no way he’s NOT gonna get to #2 if he can’t be #1

Eijiro Kirishima: He would be the #1 Hero

Izuku Midoryia: Deku would be at #3, and perfectly happy with it because he learns he doesnt need to be #1 to be the hero he’s always wanted to be

Shoto Todoroki: Todoroki, after spending a year in the Hero Industry, discovers his passion for police work and joins the police force. He realizes he’s never needed to be a Hero to help people, and he can follow his dreams his way

Ochaco Uraraka: Uraraka is the #9 Pro Hero(and 1 of 3 females in the top 10 rank)and takes part in a lot of sponsorships. Which at first made the public think she was shallow, and Uraraka thought for a while she was going to have to go on a super annoying talk show just to set the record straight. But then more and more photoage of her kindness and compassion in Rescue Hero Missions went viral and soon people didnt care that she was in so many ads because she was a good hero

Kyoko Jiro: Jiro is ranked #10, and is considered the most beautiful hero. Its un related to her work and rank, but the public has decided shes the most beautiful. Which actually makes Jiro really happy, because it gives her an outer confidence she didnt have in school.

Tsuyu Ausui: Froppy is not in the top 10 heros. However, on top of Hero Work she also stars in a childrens TV show :)) I just feel like she would LOL

Momo Yaoyorozu: Momo was on her way to becoming the 1# Hero, but only got to #5 before she left the profession. She went on to become a professional Financial Agent for Heroes trying to achieve personal goals.

Mina Ashido: Mina is the #5 hero

Tooru Hagakure: Hagakure is the #4 Hero, you could say she snuck up the ranks ;)

Tenya Iida: Iida is the #8 Hero. And while he of course works to be better and climb up the ranks, the world did eventually learn about the STAIN incident and he’s been having trouble with gaining public approval.

Mezo Shouji: Is the #7 Hero, and is considered a handsome hero. He’s super flattered because he was always considered creely looking. But now as an adult he’s considered mysterious and alurring

Denki Kaminari: Denki is the #6 Hero and is a huge role model for nerodivergents. It was a huge thing when he “came out” as having ADHD on live TV. It was when he was being interviewed after a mission and he kept looking all around. The reporter asked if he was looking for something, if there was a villain— but Denki just laughed and said “sorry i forgot my ADHD meds today!”.

Mashirao Ojiro: Ojiro became a teacher at UA for martial arts and self defense, and the students admire him for his soft and kind voice. All Might is loud(even in skinny form)and Aizawa can be harsh. Ojiro is the perfect balance :)

Fumikage Tokoyami: Tokoyami worked very hard as a Hero, but could never gain the public approval required even as an underground Hero. He and Dark Shadow went off the grid and now work as vigilantes.

Kouji Kouda: Koda works in more remote areas, a rescue Hero for natural disasters. He uses his quirk with the Local Wildlife that just can’t be found in the cities.

Hanta Sero: Works in very crowded and run down cities. Because he works in smaller yet packed places, he has a more personal relationship with the people he protects. Think spiderman

Rikido Sato: Because of his quirk, he wasnt liked very much. People thought he encorraged unhealthy diets, and that he looked big and scary. Rikido snapped after 3 years in the Hero industry, and is now a villain. He is known by other villians as loud and violent.

Yuuga Aoyama: An average Hero, but not a bad one. He often partners with Uraraka in advertisments and guest stars on Froppy’s kid show

Minoru Mineta: After watching a famous Hero become ‘cancelled’ for sexual assault, Mineta worked to change his veiw points. He’s making progress, but is staying out of the Spotlight just in case.

Something crazy that's not overt in this current battle in the hospital, but it's a running theme I suppose, is how it's a ...battle of voices? It isn't physical power that will decide how this will end but what voices will be heard:the mutants are finally making their voices heard and are also being responded by Shouji who is trying to make his voice heard and even removing his mask for it, Koda power is in place and it's voice based, Mic is here and he can take over and make it so only his voice will be heard and can eclipse all the other's voices, and finally if Kurogiri hears AFO his programming will make him awake but he will be controled by him since Noumus can only follow commands...I'm beginning to believe that if Kurogiri hears Tenko's voice he will be able to fight his programming unitying his Shirakumo side with his current status, freeing himself from AFO and turning the tides, what do you think?

Yeah I think you're totally right about the voices thing! There's so many voices all at once and it's really a battle (physically and mentally) of who will get through to who first

Personally though, I think the voices thing isn't just limited to this arc. It's what bnha is about

You know, getting through to people. Getting through to the villains. Especially with Izuku and Tomura, Shouto and Dabi, and Ochako and Toga

But it can be found anywhere too. It's in the way Tomura has been crying for help, Dabi talking to Tokoyami about Twice's death, Twice and Hawks, the second license exam and trying to get through to the kids, Izuku vs Class 1A, Ochako speaking to the crowd in the return to UA etc etc

It's really what's been happening this whole time. The story is a conversation between different kinds of people and their ideals and experiences, overlapping in the air until one overcomes the other - like you said, "It isn't physical power that will decide how this will end but what voices will be heard". That applies to the story too I think

Though of course there are big shounen battles which is par for the course of reading shounen lol

But, yes, that definitely also includes this plot line centered on heteromorphs - a topic that has been talked about and touched on in the past, but has now come back into focus. EXTREMELY important, given the fact that it's a topic with a ton of different experiences all in one area (Spinner and Shouji being from villages and suffering from discrimination, Kouda being from the city implying that he has faced little to no discrimination despite being a heteromorph himself, PLF general talking about heteromorph massacre in history, the Heroes in the middle of the battle who haven't gone through anything like that)

And this arc is also a little more specific in the use of voices. I mean, like you said, we have two voice-based quirks in the battle (Mic and Kouda, interesting), then there's Shouji removing his mask and speaking about his experiences and wants for the future, but there's also the PLF general announcing to the mob and stirring everyone up, and AFO (the voice inside Spinner's mind - even if just in a memory, it's still a voice and it is influencing/controlling Spinner)

About Kurogiri; I don't know how exactly he would hear AFO's voice or how he would hear Tomura's voice (whether they personally go over to the hospital or it's some kind of mind connection thing idk, though yeah if it does happen, they definitely tie into the voice thing too)

BUT I fr have been thinking the same thing, about the Kurogiri side (warp, memories of villainy, loyalty to Tomura) merging with his Shirakumo side (the boy who wanted to be a hero, the boy who loved his friends and saved a kitten) and THAT being how he frees himself from the control and turning the tides

LIKE?? I'd fucking love that. I honestly think something like that is going to happen at some point, whether it's this arc or not. The Villain side combining with a Heroes heart and choosing to, idk, help the situation with the Heroes or specifically help Tomura and/or the League? Maybe both in some way?

I think it'd be so cool

Again, I'm not sure about how exactly Kurogiri would hear AFO and Tomura, but Kurogiri combining both sides of him to somehow help the situation would be a real tide changer that's for sure

Actions Speak Louder

After getting @ginkitsune-imagines-bnha‘s ask about Kouda, I found myself wanting to write about him so here’s a drabble focused on him and Fortune. Although, I can’t really call it a drabble since it ended up being over 2000 words, making it longer than the Jirou drabble lol

I hope y’all enjoy it! ^-^

Shopping trips with Kouda are always quiet affairs. Of course, that’s to be expected since the shy boy isn’t much of a talker.

For the most part, he only really talks when he’s using his Quirk. Otherwise, Kouda often communicates via sign language.

Once you realized this, you immediately started learning sign language so you could always understand what your student was trying to say. While Kouda does know actual sign language, he often uses his own version of it since he’s aware that his classmates aren’t familiar with sign language. So, oftentimes, when he signs, it’s like he’s playing a game of charades with his classmates.

Because he’s so accustomed to relaying messages non-verbally, Kouda is unsurprisingly very good at charades, and as a result, the taller boy never has much trouble trying to figure out what you’re trying to say when you’re playing charades with your students to reveal what kind of visions your Quirk shows you.

It’s unfortunate that your Quirk won’t allow you to use sign language to reveal the contents of your visions since that would definitely make you easier to understand as compared to playing characters. Sadly, you’ll get a headache if you try to use sign language just like you would if you try to speak or write about your visions.

Thankfully, you have students like Kouda in your class, so you’re not too worried about conveying the contents of your visions. As long as he and the other quick-witted students are around, you’re sure you won’t have any trouble telling them about your visions.

Since you can’t use sign language to convey what you see in your visions, the only time you ever use it is when you chat with Kouda. You’re really glad you decided to learn it since the shy boy always looks so happy whenever you talk with him via sign language.

The first time his classmates saw the two of you chatting like that, they immediately became interested in learning. Naturally, some took to it more easily than others, but they all started working really hard to learn the language so they could properly communicate with Kouda.

While only a few have the language fully grasped--i.e. Yaoyorozu, Midoriya, Bakugou, Iida, Todoroki, and Jirou, the rest of his classmates do know the basics, and every so often, you’ll see them asking Kouda what the sign is for a certain word. Every time you do, it always warms your heart since you can tell how much it means to the shy boy that his classmates are going above and beyond to have a proper conversation with him in a language that he’s most comfortable with.

Still, there are some rare occasions where Kouda does verbally communicate with you and his classmates, and whenever he does, everyone always makes sure to give him their undivided attention. After all, for him to take a step out of his comfort zone to say something, that means his message is obviously very important.

“S-Sensei.”

At the sound of your student’s quiet voice, you immediately turn to look at Kouda and see him frowning worriedly. Before you can ask him what’s wrong, he points in the direction of a little girl with brown pigtails, standing on the sidewalk right in front of the window of the store you and your student are currently in.

A matching frown appears on your face when you see that it looks like the child is on the verge of crying, judging from her trembling shoulders and the way she keeps scrubbing at her face as if to prevent any tears from falling. By the looks of it, she’s alone since you don’t see anyone else with her.

When you direct your gaze back to Kouda, he signs that she’s been there for the last five minutes. He waited to tell you since he wanted to see if she was waiting for anyone, but by the looks of it, he doesn’t think that’s the case.

Unable to leave a crying child alone, you motion for your student to follow you out of the store. Since it’s likely the little girl was taught not to talk to strangers, you do your best to appear as un-intimidating as possible and make sure to give her plenty of space when you crouch down in front of her. “Hey there, are you alright? Did you get separated from your parents?”

With a hiccup, the child shakes her head. “I can’t find Mochi! What if I never see him again?!”

Well, at least, she’s willing to talk to you about what’s wrong. So, she’s upset because she lost someone.

That’s when you feel a soft tapping on your shoulder. When you lift your gaze to look at Kouda, you see that he has a small bird on his shoulder now. Once he has your attention, he signs that according to the bird the little girl has been looking for her pet cat for the last two hours without any luck.

No wonder the child is on the verge of crying. You would be too if you were in her shoes and searched for that long without finding any signs of your cat.

Wanting to help her, you ask, “Kouda, do you think we could ask the local animals for help finding Mochi? Maybe if we had some extra eyes and ears around the area we could find him.”

When Kouda gives you a thumbs up, you grin at him before directing your attention to the child before you who’s now staring at you and your student with wide eyes. “You’ll help me find Mochi?”

Nodding, you move to pat her head. “We sure will. Can you tell us what Mochi looks like? Kouda is gonna ask the other animals if they’ve seen him.”

She quickly moves to scrub away her tears before responding, “He’s big and white. And, there’s a big patch of black fur on the top of his head.”

Once he gets a description, Kouda asks the bird to look around for the cat. While he’s doing that, you find out that the child’s name is Kimi. She lives nearby, and her cat ran off after a dog started chasing it. Since she was worried about him, Kimi started searching for Mochi which is why she’s here now.

For the next half hour, the three of you walk around the area near her house, with Kouda talking to every animal he comes across. Eventually, the bird from earlier and some of its friends appear to tell your student that they think they’ve found Mochi.

That’s how you find yourself standing in front of a tree about ten minutes away from where you found Kimi. While you don’t see him at first, after you strain your eyes, you catch sight of a cat, matching Mochi’s description, on one of the high branches.

Kimi happily squeals when she sees him after you point at him. “It’s Mochi! You really found him! Thank you, Onee-chan, Onii-chan!”

While Kouda sheepishly rubs the back of his neck, you give him a pat on the back. “Purr-fect work as always, Detective Kouda. Another case solved thanks to your extensive network of allies.”

As he quietly chuckles at the pun, you walk closer to the tree. “All that’s left is to get the target down. Kouda, can you ask Mochi to allow me to carry him down? He’ll probably be wary of me since I’m a stranger, and I don’t wanna scare him.”

With a nod, the shy boy cups his hands around his mouth to ensure his voice will be heard. “Mochi! Sensei is coming to help you get down! Please allow her to do so!”

Hearing the cat meow in response, you give your student a curious look. Kouda signs that Mochi has been stuck there for a while and is willing to accept help from anyone at this point. So, he has no problem with you coming for him.

Snorting, you start climbing the tree. “Alright, here I come, Mochi. You’ll be in Kimi-chan’s arms before you know it.”

Several minutes later, you arrive at your destination and take a seat on the branch Mochi is currently occupying. After petting him in hopes of soothing his nerves, you pull down the zipper of your jacket just enough that you can put the cat inside, making sure to tuck your shirt and jacket into the waistband of your jeans so you won’t have to worry about him falling out.

You leave the zipper down just enough so Mochi can poke his head out of your jacket to look around. Once you’re sure he’s secure, you start climbing down, wincing whenever you feel the cat’s nails dig into your skin. Well, considering the circumstances, you can’t really blame the feline for being nervous, so this really is to be expected.

Kimi cheers when you finally return to the ground, cat in hand. “You did it, Onee-chan! You saved Mochi! Thank you so much!”

Smiling, you gently pull the cat out of your jacket and hand him over to the child who hugs him as moves to stroke his back. Judging from his purring, it’s obvious Mochi is just as happy to see her as she is to see him. “I couldn’t have done it without Kouda. It was a team effort.”

When you wink at him, Kouda flushes, and he only gets more embarrassed when Kimi starts energetically thanking him for helping her and Mochi. Rather than try to wave off the compliments she starts giving him, the shy boy quietly states, “I’m glad we were able to help you find Mochi. I know I’d be really sad if I lost Yuwai-chan, so I wanted to do everything I could to help you reunite with him.”

A grin forms on your lips. “As expected of the Petting Hero: Anima. A hero to all humans and animals everywhere.”

His face turns red at your words. Meanwhile, Kimi stares at him with wide, amazed eyes. “You’re a hero, Onii-chan?! That’s so cool! No wonder you were so good at saving Mochi!”

Unsurprisingly, her words just make your student ever more flustered. While he was able to accept her earlier compliments when she was thanking him, it seems Kouda has hit his praise limit today since he starts frantically shaking his head and waving his hands about.

Giggling, you decide to have mercy on the poor boy by asking Kimi if she’d like for the two of you to escort her home. She immediately agrees, wanting to hang out with Anima-nii-chan more much to his embarrassment.

When it eventually comes time for you and him to part ways with the child, she energetically waves with one of her hands while her other arm remains wrapped around Mochi. “Thank you again, Onee-chan, Anima-nii-chan!”

Before running into her house, Kimi tells Kouda that she’ll be keeping an eye out for him on the news from now on and that she and Mochi will be rooting for him. As the flustered boy waves goodbye to his new fan, you gently nudge his side with your elbow. “Good for you, Kouda. A sweet boy like you deserves all the fans. Keep this up, and you’ll have a large fan base even before graduating.”

He hides his red face in his hands. “S-Sensei!”

With a laugh, you start heading back to the shopping district with Kouda. On the way, you catch sight of a large brown dog that appears to be heading in the direction of Kimi’s house. “Hey, Kouda, do you think that dog is the one who chased off Mochi?”

Rather than respond, Kouda surprises you when he immediately approaches the dog and starts talking to it. A few minutes later, the dog turns and starts walking in a different direction.

When Kouda returns to your side, he explains via sign language that your guess about the dog was correct. Once he found that out, your student asked the dog to stop bothering Mochi so Kimi wouldn’t have to deal with a repeat of today’s events.

Once he finishes his explanation, you smile proudly. “Great job, Kouda. I know Kimi-chan and Mochi will be really grateful.”

After patting his arm, you resume walking toward the shopping district. “It’s important for heroes to treasure their fans, and your actions just now were a perfect example of how to do that. As long as you continue to be your sweet self, I know anyone who becomes your fan will be a fan for life.”

You wink at him. “I know I will be.”

While your words obviously embarrass the taller boy, there’s no mistaking the small smile that soon appears on his face. After a brief pause, Kouda starts signing again, and your eyes widen at his message.

”And, I’ll always be your fan, Sensei.”

Naturally, you immediately move to hug your student much to his embarrassment. How else are you supposed to respond to a sweet comment like that?

After all, if you’ve learned anything from Kouda, it’s that actions speak louder than words.

BNHA 320 - Thoughts

How do you have a fight between people who don’t want to hurt each other?

The answer is to turn it into a giant Catch-a-Deku and shower him with a plus ultra dose of friendship.

Kacchan proves right at the bat that they’ve predicted Deku’s likely course of action. He had a move ready to counter smoke-screen, which does not surprise me at all. I bet he’s been thinking up ways to match / counter Deku’s new quirks as soon as he laid eyes on All Might’s notebook.

Also, all the discussion from last week can be laid to rest on whether Kacchan told the others that he was part of team OFA - he obviously prepared them - they all recognized Smokescreen.

What is even more interesting is that he calls out Deku (and by implication his younger self) about how once someone is able to do everything alone, everyone else starts to look like extras. That it’s easy to lose perspective. I guess Kacchan is saying that from experience, knowing how screwed up that is.

Deku doesn’t want to hear this, so he bolt. Then the action is rather cool - we get Kouda sending in a flock of pigeons, a Sero-Midoriya spiderman vs spiderman tug of war, Jirou having a totally new move (let my girl fight, she looks badass),

Ojirou catching Deku with his tail, Dark Shadow pushing Deku into Momo’s sleep machine. So I guess with was Plan A (probably the Momo-plan). It would also make a pretty cool theme park ride if anyone would ever want to make one.

They are not trying to hurt Deku, only get him in Momo’s sleepy-time machine, which Deku resists like an angry toddler, all the while talking about their bonding moments - Jirou about Deku helping her to organize her notes, Ojirou about how Deku got angry on his behalf.

They all appreciate Deku for just normal friends stuff - nothing to do with Deku’s quirk or his self-sacrifices, but simply his caring, decent nature. For things that are totally unrelated to OFA or breaking himself for the sake of others.

Satou is going for the jugular mentioning Eri and her candied apples. And it’s so heart-breaking that even at the mention of Eri, Deku thinks that she would be all right with anyone. (Deku, you total dumbass). He also asks his classmates not to care about him anymore (hahahaha) as he breaks the sleep-machine. Love Dark Shadow’s little exasperated look.

..only to be caught by Kaminari giving him a bro-hug, telling him that even if they never interacted that much, he thinks of Deku as his pal. I adore Kaminari - he doesn’t even use his quirk, he uses his superpower as official whisperer of all the beasts of class A.

Shoji is next in restraining Deku and reminding him back when Deku thought that Shoji, Tokoyami, Shouto, Bakugou and himself were awesome enough to go up against All Might even. I love this reminder, not only how much his classmates also been through and handled, but that back before OFA-Sixquirks, Deku used to see them differently. And it’s not like they’ve become any weaker since then - rather the opposite...

Tokoyami is back with Ragnarok - Womb that looks like a pretty awesome cocoon - I adore the design and all of Tokoyami’s moves, putting Kaminari in there with him, who finally says the most important thing to Deku.

Yes. Please. For the love of All Might, go, take a shower, Deku. Shoji at the same time asking him if he only sees them as people to protect now - and it’s a very pertinent question - hits very hard - it’s something I’ve been asking since the beginning of the arc, and I’m glad someone asked him that. Even if Deku doesn’t think like that, it’s important he understands what it FEELS like to his friends.

Deku breaks out from the cocoon, but finally the mask falls and he’s holding back tears now, gritting his teeth, saying yet again, how he’s fine. Sure Deku, you look “just fine”. I guess it’s another one for the list...

He also notes how Danger Sense didn’t activate this whole time (which the scanlation totally mistranslated btw), because the class has no ill intent. Cue my UA traitor theory.

So as Deku breaks free, he yeets himself head-first into a Heaven Piercing Ice Wall - nice throwback to the first Kamino rescue - and damn, Shouto made it go straight up in an instant, and you can see how high it is.

But even more devastating is Shouto’s deeply disappointed face, as he questions if Deku can even cry anymore - a nice throwback to their heroes cry too conversation.

Deku’s resolve is really weakening now and Tsuyu still comes to give her two cents - about comic-book heroes and turning fiction into reality, and why does she talk like AFO suddenly.

Interestingly, there is a car approaching - it’s either Hercules or Jeanist Mobile, so we may have an interruption soon. I hope it’s All Might - he should really say something about this lone pillar thing.

We’ll know in two weeks, but other than some of the big guns in terms of closeness to Deku - Iida, Uraraka and of course, Professor Kacchan, with a PhD in Dekulogy - we still have some of the less significant and mid-tier characters who haven’t spoken: Aoyama, Hagakure, Mina and Kirishima. I’m guessing the UA traitor will be one of them and may end up pinging Danger Sense.

I guess Iida and Uraraka will be the real heart-breakers, and Kacchan (if we’ll segue now into DvK3) will be the nuclear explosion in the end.

Or maybe Deku gets his bath before that happens.

In any case, so far - I think the “fight” is handled in a balanced way. Nobody tries to hurt the other, the class is showing some new moves, a bit of clever combos, Deku can show off his growth to them, but ultimately it’s a fight for his heart. They are talking to him like to a friend - they are not putting him on All Might’s pedestal, but try to draw out the human side of him and try to get it through to him that he’s appreciated exactly for that.

The class is not approaching Deku, the hero, they try to get through to their dumbass friend who is hurting and is in need of help. They are breaking him with friendship and the no-jutsu has more punch when it’s stuff that’s been built for a long time.

It also shows that the more gut-wrenching moments are the ones with classmates who he has a longer or closer history with. So I’m getting my tissue box ready for 321.

Also, check out the trivia in HK’s author comment about the origin of Deku’s name. It’s pretty cool.

All the dude-bros frothing at the mouth about how Deku didn’t get to beat class A to a pulp makes this chapter extra delicious.
