The mood when you’re sick for three weeks and can’t go to school and you teacher tells you she won’t be giving you credits for a course, because you weren’t present, but you already did all the work and felt accomplished for finishing all of it while sick and now you just want to cry.

This statement which has been all over social media sites such as tumblr and twitter pretty much expresses how the way society sees and treats teens can affect the way they look, dress, act, speak, think, and even the way they see things. Its like teenagers are being dictated on how they should look like and act. Teenagers today have been hurt and judged just because they dont fit in.
They sometimes even feel self-conscious and sorry for themselves because they cant live up to societys expectations. Doesnt society know that teenagers are greatly affected by their judgments? Many people look at teens as a stereotype. As Reid states in his article: Even the way we dress can cast immediate stereotypes from the people around us. We get stereotyped from our clothes, hairstyles, social class, the way we act, our ethnicity, even the kind of mobile phone or iPod we have.
It can be difficult to find our personal identity everything we do, say or buy seems to be associated with a certain social group. Sometimes we feel we should fit in with our friends, so we buy the same things and listen to the same music. Reids statement is exactly what is happening today. Teenagers are being judged based on their appearances and actions alone. Media also plays a very big role in a teenagers life especially since they spend most of their time watching television, surfing the internet, and browsing through magazines.
An online article on Buzzle. om entitled Medias Effects on Teenagers states that Fashion magazines are also to blame for their glossy covers showcasing models with so-called nice bodies that teens idolize and work towards, while of course compromising on health. Seeing and knowing such information, the self-confidence of a teenager can really be affected . Society creates this image for teenagers to look up to which, by the way, just ruins them. When teens look at them, they think to themselves why dont I look like her? I wish I had what she has. It is sad to even know that teens are not contented with their imperfections obsessed with their body image . They do this just to be acceptable to the norms of society. ○Despite all the influences and pressure the society is giving to teenagers, they should still have their own set of standards based on her needs and not the wants as dictated by her environment, most specifically the society which could either destroy or improve her as an acceptable individual. So the fate of a teenager really lies on her own decisions. It is the teenagers choice if she gives in to all the pressure and complies with societys definition of beauty or she stays true to who she is and be contented with her own imperfections.

my roman empire: shows of tv past
sometimes at night or even in the middle of the day, i think about all the unanswered and unfinished stories from cancelled tv shows. i petition that once they cancel a show they have to do sit down interviews to tell you what would've happened if the show continued. ones that immediately come into mind (that i've watched because there are literally too many to count):
the society (definitely the one that keeps me up the most)
warrior nun
the wilds
the secret circle
everything sucks
first kill
stumptown
prodigal son
1899
icarly revival
the royals (this needed to end though because of the showrunner)
stitcher
fate: the winx saga
the family (the one that was on abc)
finding carter
star-crossed
teenage bounty hunters
cloak and dagger (sort of...)

Most likely someone has said this before but seriously.
It's ridiculous that I feel like I've accomplished nothing after doing something for an entire weekend. I panted two ceilings, cleaned our aquarium and hang up two pairs of drapes, cooked, went outside and finished up an English course from last semester.
And still I feel like I've accomplished absolutely nothing. And I damn well know why. I didn't get much schoolwork done. I didn’t focus on "the one job of a student".
I didn't do schoolwork that has no value in three weeks when summer starts. Schoolwork that wont show in my final grades that I'll use to apply to universities. Because those grades come from single exams, that are completed in six hours each.
My worth is being defined by work that has none.
I DEFINE MY WORTH BY WORK THAT HAS IT'S VALUE DEFINED AS NULL.
Even if I've done all the work I'm assigned, I'm still fucking anxious. I'm still waiting to remember something that I've forgotten or to get more worthless work.
Just... What in the absolute fuck is wrong with this society?
What is the worth of a person when their worth is defined by work that has none.
Anyways. Here was my stupid rant that I wrote in the last five minutes of a physics class. I really just want to sleep for a week.
Mischief out-
