Lavender
Lavandula officinalis
Known as: Elf leaf, nard, nardus & spike
Related plants: A member of the mint family Lamiaceae, there are genus of 47 known species of lavender. It includes well known plants such basil, mint, rosemary, sage, savory, marjoram, oregano, hyssop, thyme, lavender, and perilla, as well as catnip, salvia, bee balm, wild dagga & oriental motherwort.
Parts used: Flowers
Habitat and cultivation: This flowering plant is native to the the Mediterranean
Plant type: Perennial
Region: Most are hardy from Zones 5 to 9 | Spanish Lavender (L. stoechas) is only hardy in Zones 7 to 9.
Harvest: You can harvest all the budding spikes or flowers on your plant during the growing season but avoid cutting into woody growth. Don't want to take more than 1/3 of the plant at this time & limiting your harvest to flowers and buds should keep you within recommended limits. As first frost approaches, snip off woody, leafy stems & branching. You can safely take up to 2/3 of the plant at this time. Harvesting too early can stimulate more growth which you don't want since the lavender is moving into winter dormancy.
Growing tips: To grow lavender successfully it needs well-drained soil, full sun & may be a good idea to check the PH beforehand because soil too acidic may kill off your plants. It survives well in dry conditions, so you'll only have to water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Plant lavender in spring, once all chances of frost have passed. This beautiful, fragrant herb is a great addition to raised beds, in-ground gardens, and growing in containers spacing plants 12 to 18 inches apart.
Medicinal information: Taking lavender products by mouth, including teas and a specific oil supplement or inhaling lavender oil as aromatherapy, seem to reduce symptoms of depression & anxiety. Lavender oil is believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to heal & burns & bug bites. Some studies suggest that consuming lavender as a tea can help digestive issues such as vomiting, nausea, intestinal gas, upset stomach, & abdominal swelling. A study published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology found that lavender oil could be effective in combating antifungal-resistant infections. Using it as aromatherapy can also reduce colic symptoms & menstrual cramp pain.
Cautions: Lavender essential oil is possibly safe when inhaled as aromatherapy, but applying products that contain lavender oil to the skin is possibly unsafe for young cis males who haven't reached puberty. The oil seems to have hormone-like effects that could disrupt normal hormones & in some cases, this has resulted in breast growth.
Lavender might cause sleepiness and slowed breathing. Taking lavender with sedative medications might cause breathing problems and/or too much sleepiness.
Lavender might slow down the central nervous system. If used with anesthesia and other medications given during and after surgery, it might slow down the central nervous system too much. Stop using lavender at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

Something zoomers and less informed millennials struggle with is that support for Israel has been baked into American society for decades and really only in the last ten years has that meaningfully changed.
The process has inarguably been going on longer than that, but has been most obvious to the lay observer for about a decade. Particularly, Trump made Israel a partisan issue. Trump brought to America the vicious hate of blood and soil Zionism. It's hard to fully encapsulate how much damage Trump's support for Israel did to the works of hasbara. Honestly, it's depressing.
More critically still, Christian Zionism—a necessarily antisemitic belief—has become the primary form of vocal support for the Israeli state. I don't particularly believe the average gentile is reacting to the plenary evil of the Evangelical beyond how loathsome they are or, indeed, their antisemitism in any meaningful way, but as with the reaction to Trump, at least we've gotten here.
Prior to around the turn of the century, American support for Israel was part of a cultural and political reaction to the Holocaust. Even different from a lot of powers in Europe that had found in a Jewish state an answer to their Jewish question, the United States was among several nations to make a blunt, direct statement about allyship with Israel as a deviation from historical antisemitism locally and abroad. Now, all but our most vicious antisemites claim to be Zionists and, vitally, Israel embraces them.
More notable still is how a reified, non-ideological form of anti-Zionism has taken root in American society. This, in particular, is a very new development.
Truthfully, I am deeply suspicious of any gentile who calls themselves an anti-Zionist. Anti-Zionism and Zionism both are ideologies with historical roots nearly two centuries old. Anti-Zionism is not merely a dislike of revanchism and far-right nationalism—things one should not need a deeper body of thought to dislike.
Nonetheless, where gentile anti-Zionism was once primarily a form of thinly-veiled antisemitism (it still is in many cases), it has seen more and more use by people seeking a specific term for their hate of state violence, which has further crystallized the change in the perception of Israel.
This, not just some mindless love of death, is why there is such a notable cleaving between the generations on the issue of Israel in the US.

“I’m getting on the bus to the other world, see ‘ya!”
“What value is there to a life that wants to end? ‘That must suck.’ ‘I get it.’ Don't act as if you understand! In the end, after a few years, I'll still be suffering. So stab me, kill me, and take me away.
This is the only thing I thought to do, my first and final struggle in vain...”
a/n: basically just an emotional diary cause dazai’s the only thing my insane mind cam conjure up (cw: suicide duhh, overdosing, mentally ill pwp, im romanticizing my ideal partner)
Tumblr media
dazai is so tired. acting as if being insulted constantly and getting bashed isn’t anything at all for the ‘second-most esteemed detective of the agency’ or the ‘mafia demon prodigy’.
“you know i’m human too, right, chūya?”
why could no one acknowledge how much he needs love, any kind of love— a miserable rope ties around his heart, pulling on it tighter every single second of every day. does no one truly care for him?
ahaha! how funny— to believe that someone really cared for him? with all of the wrongdoings he has committed and not to mention how utterly inhumane he looks. that could not possibly be him, right?
someone with such a dreaded mind and a pessimistic view could not possibly look like him, no, it must not!
the people he calls his allies are merely lying, of course! kunikida wouldn’t care at all if one day he had just dropped dead, in fact, he would probably sigh from overjoy that the annoyance known as osamu dazai has left the living world— chūya has always despised his partner in crime, he’d probably do the same thing that he had done when dazai left the mafia, open some expensive wine and celebrate the death of the maniac.
why has he continued living? the goal entrusted to him by his departed friend has started to stray from his mind; why must morals divide what is good and bad? why is it a so-called sin to kill yourself? what good is a life that has no aspiration of living if it’ll die anyways?
as he sits in his dorm room, empty bottles of sake and soju are all over any surface he was able to find, he lies in his futon, clothes and bandages soiled from sweat and tears.
he stares at the bottle of anti-depressants mori had given him four years ago.
“here, dazai. perhaps this will cure your burdens.”
what shitty advice. it was blatantly obvious that mori had only wanted him to live as his little mind toy, someone he could play with until it broke and he got bored.
opening the bottle, he shook around, looking at the ivory white tablets. “haah, fearing death— how silly of me.” he laughed to himself.
throwing each tab into his mouth, he watered it down with the little bit of sake left in his bottle.
slowly, his vision started to blur as his head became lightheaded. the heartbeat that dazai had normally been able to control started beating out of his chest— as if the tight rope around it had torn and burst from the sudden highs of dosulepin.
‘i’m sorry, odasaku. i could not keep my promise to you.”
Tumblr media
white, the alcoholic scent of disinfectants, the flow of IV through his wrist, could this be doctor yosano’s office? no, yosano is definitely somewhere here but it’s not her office.
he’s in a hospital, and he’s still alive. lost in his own thoughts, dazai didn’t even hear yosano walk in.
“dazai, you’re awake. glad to know, s/o was worried sick when they found you in your dorm.” she explained, of course it was you who had brought him. although the both of you were often busy with your jobs, you still fawned over him and sent him endearing texts throughout the day— to let him know you cared.
he couldn’t believe it though. he truly believed everything you have told to him was a complete and utter lie. you were probably laughing about him in private, that’s the only way he could stay sane in his cruel version of reality anyways.
“i feel like i already know the answer but— why would you do this?” she sighed. “when s/o had found you, you were trembling and your heart was going over 80 beats per minute.” she said, reading through her diagnostic charts.
“isn’t it obvious, doctor yosano? i wanted to die. that’s all.” he said meekly (as meekly as someone outspoken like him could). obviously annoyed with his ideation for death, yosano had walked off into the waiting room, where you were waiting.
how shall he explain something such as this? you hated every self deprecating joke he had made, you hated how he had lied and deceived even people who trust him with their life, because you are the only one he has let know he is a fraud to humanity.
what would you say? something as idiotic as ‘i understand that the pain you’re going through is unbearable but—‘? haha, how hopeless that would be, wouldn’t it?
snapping out of his thoughts, your hand rests on the bed he’s sitting in. he didn’t even notice you walk in, the drugs must have done some sort of number on him, ahaha!
what will you say? why won’t you say anything? for once, dazai is scared. the painfully agonizing silence is the only thing that fills the bright room as he predicts your words.
will you break up with him? it wouldn’t be a surprise, dealing with someone as ‘sensitive’ (as mori would put it) would get annoying eventually.
“i hope you know i’m here for you, osamu.”
“what?” he responded. you’re here for him? …
“i’m just saying if you need someone to help you when you’re overwhelmed by your emotions, ill be here for you. i get that you don’t want someone to say ‘you’ll be okay’ when you probably aren’t. i’ll be here for when you’re exhausted, i don’t want you to die soon.”
the long rope clenched around his heart once more. this time it wasn’t from depression like it has been for years, it was from endearment, panic, adoration, love. osamu dazai loved you.
you weren’t able to instantaneously fill the hallow hole in his heart but slowly, you’d help him fix it and replace it with memories of you and him.
you could not fix his ideals but, you could make him stay— just one last time, and another, and another until he has spent so many nights he has almost completely forgotten of his grievances.
dazai was tired. but with you in his life, his burdens have felt just a little bit lighter. and he couldn’t really kill himself now and leave his light all alone, could he?

I don't always jump on necro'd predictive text chain shitpost bandwagons, but when I do...
Tumblr media
This is disturbingly apt for someone with songs out there about overthinking past regrets, making thinly veiled comparisons between medieval folk medicine & modern anti-vaxxers, and the joys of long term treatment with anti-depressants.
All the little things that don't matter
Years later
Eating you away
Pulling you away from the moment
In which you exist
Until you just subsist
On guilt and shame
Drive the nail through the soil at the crossroads
Turn three times around
To the next passer-by
All your fevers shall ever
Be bound
And there's no release
From this nameless disease
This sense of unease
And I can't decide
Is it all in my mind
Seen by gaslight?
Either I use my issues, or they use me.

Remembering Kurt Cobain 🕊🤍🙏
(20 February 1967 - 5 April 1994)
Kurt Cobain was an American rock musician who rose to fame as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the seminal grunge band Nirvana. Through his angst-fueled songwriting and anti-establishment persona, Cobain's compositions widened the thematic conventions of mainstream rock music. He was often heralded as a spokesman of Generation X (a title that he was never comfortable with) and is considered to be one of the most influential musicians in the history of alternative rock.
Kurt greatly admired Freddie Mercury and Queen at an impressionable age and even blamed the band for car troubles….
There were songs that Kurt wanted to listen to repeatedly until the car battery ran out. In most cases he knew the words by heart. His favorite album was Queen's 'News Of The World', one song in particular struck him: 'We Are The Champions'.
Cobain said: “My father’s idea of a father-and-son day out would be to take me to work on Saturdays and Sundays and I would sit in his office while he went and counted logs. It’s really a quite exciting weekend. I drew pictures, I made prank phone calls….And then I would take a nap in the van and listen to Queen — “News of the World” on eight-track, over and over again, and drain the battery on the van. Then we’d be stuck. That happened a few times — we’d get stuck after work with a dead battery because I listened to Queen too much.”
It was widely known by his friends and fans that he suffered deeply from depression and drug addiction. Tragically, after several years of critical acclaim with Nirvana, Cobain took his own life on April 5, 1994. His body was discovered by an electrician who was installing a security system in his home several days later.
He left a suicide letter found stabbed to a pile of potting soil with a red ballpoint pen nearby his body in the greenhouse on his Lake Washington property.
He made a heartbreaking reference to the legendary Freddie Mercury:
“When we're back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins, it doesn't affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy.
The fact is, I can't fool you, any one of you. It simply isn't fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I'm having 100% fun.
Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage. I’ve tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do, God, believe me I do, but it's not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we [Nirvana] have affected and entertained a lot of people.
It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they're gone. I'm too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child.” 🥺
The Cobain Estate released a picture Kurt drew of Freddie Mercury while he was on tour in Europe on 23rd November 1991, the day it was announced that Mercury had contracted HIV and was suffering from AIDS

There are many health benefits associated with grounding or earthing through the healing power of earth's electrical charges-by physically touching the ground or conducting a practice that simulates this connection. There is an anti-inflammatory effect on the body which leads to overall well-being by boosting the immune system and reducing the risk of chronic disease. Other benefits include improved sleep, reduced stress, improved circulation, reduced pain, increased energy level and improved mental status. Grounding can be as simple as walking barefoot on wet sand, dewy ( wet) grass, soil or other natural surfaces. So, treat (or heal )yourself to 20 minutes of grounding each day! #farazberjis #guthealth #coredigestive #wellness #health #mindbodyspirit #grounding #earthing #digestivewellness #emotionalwellbeing #inflammationreduction #inflammation #stressrelief #stressmanagement #painrelief #antiinflammatory #immunesystem #immunityboost #coreintegrativedigestivewellness #chronicdisease #love #digestion #digestivesymptoms #personalgrowth #mentalhealth #anxiety #depression #gratitude #grateful #cardiovascularhealth #emotionaljourney #fatigue #energylevel

The death warrant was plastered in every crevice of sorcerer society; yet Suguru Geto's dorm room has been left intact on the wake of his straying.
Pushing the door open would offer a glimpse into the occupant's psyche these last few months; deterioration evident in the muck caught on sticky coffee stains over his desk and the pile of laundry on the corner of his bed. It wasn't made. The sheets smelled of smoke and sweat. It added to the general musty reek in the room, like it had been left shut for some time. The water boiler was still half-full, a raw packet of ramen was dumped beside it as if it had been opened and then discarded over a change of heart.
There were a few empty over the counter dramamine pill cartons on his nightstand, alongside a crumpled up prescription for anti-depressants that hadn't been punched to validation. A brief sift through his things would unearth a lot of empty Mevius packs, ash and plastic cups used for makeshift ashtrays when his pocket one had been full.
The repurposed shoe box they pulled out from beneath his bed has been left unopened. Dust has thinly collected on the lid. A variety of items rattles inside; from bottle caps to movie tickets, a rabbit plushie won at some arcade and a folded poster for an all-you-can eat event at Haibara's favorite restaurant. Buried somewhere within the mementos; a friendship bracelet with a white fish pendant dangling amidst azurite beads. And under it, Suguru's personal diary bulges with a number of torn papers, pictures and magazine cut outs all cramped together under its pages. Merely picking it up would have the bulk of it crumble and open on a certain entry. It's fairly spaced out from the one before it, with nearly a month of silence in between.
14.04.2007 We went stargazing on the hilltops tonight. It was good to remember my hometown at a time like this, even if there was no nostalgia. The grass was wet and we forgot to bring a blanket, so our jackets got drenched after a bit.
Some kanji mixes into Suguru's hiragana then, written on the sides or over doodles of starry skies and a surprisingly detailed drawing of the mountain side evidently made with a black ball-point pen. He's shaded the grass blades in a scratchy fashion. There's a crispy spot somewhere on the paper like something had dripped over the writing.
Your face was beaming. You said the world was beautiful with a tone to your voice I have not heard in some time. That makes me think I miss having moments like this. I watched your hair fluff up like watagashi in the wind and I envied the breeze. You spoke with a pure, childlike excitement when you pointed to the Orion and the Ursa Major. I felt embarassed when I realized I was staring at you instead and I could not keep up with your thoughts. But you saw everything around us in vivid color, and again I slip past your sight unnoticed. I'm very tired, so I can't feel angry at you for looking everywhere else for small comforts anymore. Seeing you like this was a small comfort for me in exchange.
There's smaller notes crossing over that part of his writing; a repetition of the sentence 'write it down' like some mantra, scratched out kanji containing the meaning for 'hanahaki' and a piece of bamboo paper ( the special kind one would use to write their heartfelt wish on during festivals ) taped to the page that covers the final part of Suguru's deepest thoughts.
I'm sorry, Satoru. That night, you wanted to share with me the beauty of the stars. But I couldn't face the sky without feeling small. Selfishly, I wanted you to lie beside me, on the earth. I was overcome by a desire to be one with the soil, if only to be the thing that cradles you. I wanted my arms to be the place that holds all your wonder, because I know that I will never be a star.

Burmese Harp - Kon Ichikawa
Going into this film I had heard little inklings in class that it was going to be depressing and I came into with those kinds of expectations. Throughout my viewing, I realized that while at some points it was depressing, there was an equal amount of hope and promise that provided me with the perfect balance to enjoy this movie. The film opens with Mizushima, a Japanese soldier who becomes the harp player for Captain Inouye’s group that fights and sings to raise morale in the Burma campaign. The group settles in a small town and realizes they are being watched by British and Indian soldiers. The groups begin singing together and through this, they are able to learn that the war has ended with Japan surrendering. I like the way music is used in this scene and throughout the movie, primarily to bring everyone closer together, which can be seen at the beginning when the Japanese soldiers are singing with one another, and at this point in the movie when the British and Japanese soldiers start singing in the same melody. I am also taking a class about music in Japanese film and I’m definitely going to bring this movie up at some point. The British ask Mizushima to relay the information that Japan has surrendered to a Japanese group that remains fighting on a mountain. Mizushima begs the group to surrender, however, they decide to keep fighting and all end up dying, except for Mizushima, who was knocked unconscious. Mizushima recovers with a monk, whom he steals clothes from and shaves his head to stay undercover. Posing as a monk, Mizushima journeys to Mudon and along the way, finds many corpses from his fellow Japanese comrads on the way. He decides to bury these corpses and study as a monk. While Mizushima is on his journey, Captain Inouye and his group buy a parrot that they use to convey a message to Mizushima telling him to return to them. He receives the message but declines, telling them that he can’t go back and that he has to continue burying the dead while studying as a monk to promote the peaceful nature of mankind. For a war movie, this ending gives off anti-war messages which I kind of liked and showed that you can find peace and purpose even in loss. Mizushima’s decision to become a monk slightly confused me as he initially just stole the monk’s clothes and began to pose as one as a means to journey back to Mudon. I think the impact of seeing all of the dead Japanese soldiers on his journey may have affected him in some way. I'm not too familiar with Buddhism but I do remember something about dying off of Japanese soil having a religious meaning. Overall, I liked this movie and I thought it had some really good messages, my favorite being that Mizushima is able to find his own purpose in the world even though he lost the war that had consumed so much of his life.

All The Love: Damiana Plant Profile
Tumblr media
Alexis J. Cunningfolk
Today I get to introduce you to a plant friend that I met in one of my very first formal herbalism classes. I still remember the ease and laughter that talking about Damiana (Turnera diffusa) brought to the class - a feeling which encapsulates Damiana’s gift of joyful exchange. While Damiana is typically classified as an aphrodisiac and seen as an herb of sex and romance (which it is), Damiana is also a wonderful plant ally to work with when you’re trying to create connection with other folks in a shared space.
If you prefer to be able to easily print out the following profile as well as learn about other aphrodisiac and adaptogenic herbs, you’re invited to The Plant Ally Library.
I hope you enjoy meeting Damiana and getting to know this plant that acts as an “adaptogenic aphrodisiac” helping us to soften our edges while feeling sturdy in our sense of wellbeing.
Enjoy!

Main Uses : An herb that has recorded use stretching back to Mayan culture, Damiana has a lot to offer in the ways of herbal healing. Damiana has long been used by the indigenous peoples of the American Southwest and Mexico, including the Yaqui, Rarámuri, and Pima Bajo, including as a tonic for stomachache, a remedy for diarrhea, infertility, inflammation, for lowering blood sugar, increasing the metabolism, and low libido.¹
Damiana was one of the first herbs I was introduced to in my first round of herbal classes in Southern California and it’s honored as an important local remedy as well as a recognizable local liqueur bottled in a distinctive Goddess-shaped bottle. While Damiana is typically presented as an aphrodisiac (which is definitely is), you’ll sometimes see the plant is categorized as an adaptogen. I was taught to use it as an adaptogenic aphrodisiac, embodying the best qualities of herbal aphrodisiacs with the nourishing and restorative qualities of an adaptogen. One of the reasons that Damiana is so effective as an aphrodisiac is that it reduces stress and stress-related complaints including ulcers, colic, indigestion, poor fertility, and low libido. In addition to helping with stress relief, the adaptogenic qualities of Damiana work to regulate the pituitary gland and increase energy.
Damiana clears brain fog and many head-related disorders including migraines and headaches, calms the nervous system, and greatly reduces overactive mental activity. For anxiety, Damiana is indicated when anxiety creates sluggishness in the mornings and becomes increasingly worse in the evenings.² Damiana can either be stimulating or relaxing to the nervous system, depending on the needs of the body. Damiana is helpful in cases of mental agitation including OCD and anxiety as well as for cases of cognitive decline, including dementia. Herbalist Thomas Bartram recommends combining Damiana with Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) and Milky Oats (Avena sativa) for dementia with accompanying indications of weakness resulting in a blend which strengthens and nourishes while providing gentle stimulation which assists in cognitive function and stability.³
The herb helps the nervous system to deliver information throughout the body and as both a brain tonic and aphrodisiac helps to line up mental and physical clarity and desire (i.e. helping to alleviate the ways we can get stuck in our heads in unhelpful ways when pursuing pleasure). While the herb has soothing energies, it is also energizing in that it invigorates the mind and body, which is another reason that Damiana is such a great aphrodisiac.
Tumblr media
As an aphrodisiac, Damiana also helps to improve libido, increase fertility and sperm count, and reconnect the body to the experience of orgasm. Energetically, the herb is said to help folks who want to to overcome shyness and fear of intimacy as well as the fear of being “good enough” in bed. Herbalist Karen M. Rose recommends Damiana for those recovering their pleasure after experiencing disconnection due to trauma.⁴ While it should not be used during pregnancy, the herb can be used during labor to aid in childbirth - it softens and opens up the birth canal. Damiana is also useful for menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Overall, it is an excellent herb to reconnect with pleasure in your life.
In addition to use as a nervine and aphrodisiac, Damiana can help to expel excess phlegm and dry up excess mucous in cases of colds and bronchitis. The herb helps to relax the respiratory system, calming coughs and helping to alleviate the symptoms of asthma.
Topically the herbal oil (not essential oil) can be used as a lubricant in mundane and magickal rites of sex and pleasure.
Magickal Uses : Damiana is an excellent herb for love magick, especially when sexual desire is involved. Use it in sex magick and practices, especially when it comes to communicating clearly with your partners and feeling comfortable expressing your sexuality.
The herb also aids in the development and awakening of psychic vision. Magickal herbalist Paul Beyerl notes that Damiana has an affinity with quartz crystal and he recommends storing clear quartz in your jar of Damiana as well as making an quartz crystal oil using a base of Damiana oil.⁵
The Damiana Personality : The need of a Damiana person feels so great that they have cut themselves off from it to cope. Damiana folk want sensuality and sex but the emotional labor to experience it because of the emotional baggage they carry can feel insurmountable. There can be a pattern of denying and suppressing wants and desires which then emerge in unhealthy habits in an attempt to find the pleasure they feel denied. There can also be a fear of rejection tied up with low self-esteem that makes even the smallest dismissal from a significant other feel catastrophic, further driving a wedge between their needs and desires for physical affection. Fortunately, when Damiana folk are able to get the support they need (therapeutic, nutritional, herbal, etc) and untie the emotional knots tangling up their spirit, they can and will experience pleasure again. In fact, they’ll often find that the pleasure that they imagined was unattainable is small compared to what they are able to experience in a beneficial Damiana state. For Damiana is a patient, flexible, and wildly intelligent ally when it comes to pleasure of all kinds, not just sexual, and reconnecting us to the radiant fullness of feeling.
Contraindications : Generally regarded as safe, but may interfere with iron absorption. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Caution with diabetes medication due to Damiana’s affect on blood sugar.
Dosage : Standard dosage.
I believe that every plant contains the possibility of helping us to connect with our pleasure as a state of expanded connectivity where we feel good in ourselves.
Of course, there are plants that have a reputation for being very effective at helping us to connect with what feels good in our bodies and our relationships, including Milky Oat (Avena sativa), Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca), and Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), to name just a few. Building a relationship with plant allies, returning your herbalism to an earth-centered practice, and allowing yourself to play with possibility as a path of healing can all help to name and experience your own pleasure. In other words, there are as many paths to pleasure as there are beings, and plant allies are just one of many helpful partnerships to finding those paths.
As you journey through the world of herbalism, I hope that you find those plant allies which help you connect with your deepest desires, and find a way to know your desires as things of loveliness and revelation throughout your life.
