✕ — wasn’t that tabitha smith wandering the streets of new york, 1973? civilians know them as boom-boom and see them as a hero. as far as i know, the twenty-four year old stands with x-force, x-factor, & new mutants, and are rumoured to be pretty self-assured & recalcitrant. hey guys, sophia’s at it again lmao!!  here’s more about my second baby aka my trash!baby under the cut  

PT. 1: INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION // 

tabby doesnt really have any appearances outside of the mceu except for a handful of cartoon appearances 

so this rendition of her is gonna be entirely comic based

PT. 2: FROM TIME-BOMB TO BOOMER TO MELTDOWN TO BOOM-BOOM // 

okay so. tabby was an only child, raised in a trailer park in roanoke. her mom was never really in the picture and her dad was an abusive alcoholic nut job. tabby never got an actual education. she was emotionally neglected & abused, as well as physically abused for her entire childhood. 

the abuse only got worse when tabby’s mutation (and gender & sexuality, see below) came into question. her father beat tabby so hard that she ran away at around 13-14. 

she started a long ass journey trying to figure out how the fuck to live in a world where she couldn’t really read & understand, but somehow make it to xaviers school for the gifted (someone in the trailer park had mentioned it to her and she decided it’d become her salvation) 

a train she was taking en route to washington dc was attacked by the beyonder. the beyonder ended up considering tabby its only friend and felt bad for this young, frightened, abused girl and brought her to xavier’s. however because the beyonder is a powerful cosmic entity the x-men attacked it on spot and tabby, frightened and bewildered, left with the beyonder back to its home planet. she stayed there with him for a little while before realizing it was an evil entity hellbent on the destruction of worlds, and demanded she be returned to the xmen. she led the beyonder into an ambush and the beyonder, heartbroken about the loss of its only friend, willingly surrendered 

that was tabby’s introduction to the x-men. because of how it all went down, she left the x-men for a little while and moved to LA. she joined a gang called the fallen angels where she learnt how to steal (amongst other things). she began to be sexually harassed and was sexually taken advantage of during her time with this gang, particularly by the gang’s male mutant leader, who’d enlisted her, and so she told the x-factor about the gangs presence 

tabitha then witnessed the children of the x-factor being kidnapped by soldiers of The Right and stowed away on the ship to save them — where she befriended Rictor

the ship crashed when apocalypse was defeated and she lived on apocalypse’s ship for a while 

when the x-men found her, tabby was forced to attend phillips academy in new hamsphire, where she was bullied by the other kids for being a mutant. she allied with the other mutants at the school and formed a group called the x-terminators, where she got hella involved with a bunch of demon & limbo & illyana bullshit when some of the mutants were kidanpped and being used as a portal into limbo 

even though tabby had helped save the world, her school expelled her for being involved in the entire ordeal, and she then joined the new mutants, accidentally summoned a giant sea monster (like an idiot) and went to live wth some dwarves on asgard 

she then joined x-force and changed her alias to boomer 

she joined an underground paramilitary group and was bombed by a vibranium bomb, but survived. my trash queen 

she was then invited by Cable, as meltdown, to join his group Underground to investigate the new weapon x program 

she then joined next wave, as boom-boom, where she learned she’s immune to mind control 

she was then kidnapped by anti-mutant extremists and personally held hostage by the leper queen. the leper queen decided to take her wrath out towards the x-men on tabby and shot her in the head (consequently she was then saved by otherwise certain death by one laura kinney)

she then teams up w/ domino to infiltrate sword because fuck the government, i guess

she went to live on utopia and stayed after it was destroyed, before finally settling at the xavier school and becoming a full-fledged x-man.  

PT. 3: TABBY’S PERSONALITY & RELATED HEADCANONS //

she’s literally a disaster gay. that’s about it. she’s a chaotic babe who loves to throw herself into stupid situations. she loves to party, get smashed, has a ton of super famous hollywood friends who invite her out to parties all the time. she gets shitfaced with them and gets in a lot of trouble with them

i also write tabby as transfemale. and i imagine that was also a big contributing factor to the strain between herself and her parents, as well as a motivating factor to joining the gang she did. she needed money for the transition and for hormones. 

shes super dumb bookwise but very streetsmart. it’d be dumb to underestimate her because she perceives things in such a unique way and it always ends up int he benefit of the team

that said she can be a lazy shit sometimes, motivation is not her forte

shes got a ton of trauma she’s never willing to address ever (and more she never talks about from her party days)

shes the kind of girl though who’ll blast music at 4am — despite everyone else being asleep. she’s got absolutely no manners, and has a long history of playing pranks on the x-men (via literally bombing them with her powers) if they don’t listen to her/undermine her/ neglect her. basically. don’t get on her bad side.

she just wants to be that fun friend everyone can go to for a good time, she doesn’t like to drag people down with her own issues. anyways shes a chaotic bisexual with the mouth of a trucker who deserves the world & u can’t change my mind

Simu Liu masterfully dodges questions about if Shang-Chi will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The second film of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now out in theaters. After waiting longer than expected to see Shang-Chi’s solo film, the movie has proven to be worth the wait. Shang-Chi is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, earned an A Cinemascore, and is wildly exceeding box office expectations for its opening weekend.

The positive reception to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and how it introduces the MCU’s latest Avenger will only increase interest in Liu’s return. Marvel hasn’t confirmed any future plans for the Master of Kung Fu so far, but Shang-Chi‘s ending clearly sets up his MCU future. Shang-Chi and Katy (Awkwafina) are recruited by Wong (Benedict Wong) and meet Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) over a hologram. The mid-credits scene teases more mysteries about the Ten Rings Shang-Chi now possesses and teases multiple upcoming Phase 4 MCU projects in the process.

Screen Rant recently had the opportunity to speak with the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star about his MCU debut and future. This included discussing the film’s final teases and the possible setup for Shang-Chi to return in Doctor Strange 2 now that he’s met Wong. Liu might be new to the MCU, but he’s already a master of dodging spoilers and questions that might elicit such answers. Screen Rant: To start off, I’d like to talk about the end of the film as well as the credits scene, about how you’re brought in by Wong into the world of the Avengers and the superheroes…

Simu Liu: You’re putting me in a really tough place, man.

Screen Rant: Well, does that mean, based on what we see, that we can expect to see you in Doctor Strange 2?

Simu Liu: Man, you are good. You’re good – but unfortunately for you, I’m better! It was an extreme pleasure to be a part of the MCU, and if and when the call comes for me to return to the universe, I will be more than ready. But beyond that, I have no knowledge whatsoever of any of the future Marvel plans for this character or any other character.

Even though Shang-Chi doesn’t confirm when and where Simu Liu will make his MCU return, Doctor Strange 2 is as strong of a possibility as any confirmed Phase 4 movie or Disney+ show. Wong’s interest in the Ten Rings and saying they felt Shang-Chi use them all the way in Kamar-Taj means these objects and Shang-Chi should be on Doctor Strange’s radar too. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton already said that there is a good reason why Benedict Cumberbatch doesn’t appear in the movie, and that could be because Marvel Studios is saving the Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange crossover for Cumberbatch’s sequel.

Nevertheless, the possibility of Shang-Chi appearing in Doctor Strange 2 is exciting to consider. The movie already is confirmed to feature the return of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and the MCU debut of America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). It is also rumored to feature plenty of other familiar MCU characters through its multiverse story, with Loki‘s Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) the latest linked to the sequel. An appearance by Shang-Chi could be in the cards too after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. But, if Liu has already filmed a Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cameo or is scheduled to do so in the future, he clearly won’t be the one who reveals that information.

Craig Marshall is cute and I’m happy Ororo is getting a new love interest or at least some fun time in the clouds but… does NASA usually send one person to Mars to ‘look’ at dirt especially now…? He works for a government agency on a planet that has been transformed into a liveable planet… a planet the many humans feel has been colonised by mutants… a planet many humans bank on being their last resort if things on earth go bad… I think everyone is so distracted by the the way Marshall looks and the fact we haven’t seen Ororo in a good relationship since Logan died… she also has been very isolated for the last year… that everyone forgets this is an Arrako/ mutant political book and after SoS the stakes are high… I’m side eyeing the man🤷🏽‍♀️

I look forward to seeing what his ‘true’ intentions are on Arrako… and with Storm especially since Brand is gone.

Black Panther and “Storm” fans will see T’Challa going behind Ororo’s back and spying on mutants and still talk about how much “in love” they are with each other and how much they love seeing them get back together… do yall not know Storm at all?? No because if we’re gonna be honest… Tchalla immediately shut down that marriage the one time Storm didn’t act like the weapon he thought he married…🤷🏽‍♀️ now in the BP comics they’re making it seem like the two are in some sort of relationship that isn’t marriage meanwhile writers are still using her as a weapon under wakanda while she’s in the xmen comics doing what they’re doing there… and I want to know why… can’t the King of Wakanda carry his own comic books on his own?? With all the technological advancements his nation has why does Storm need to be on the cover of every BP comic??? Wakanda doesn’t even acknowledge Krakoa as independent so how and why is Storm, a whole veteran who watched her family die to create a home for mutants to reside, someone who’s literally the heart of the nation still fighting for this man???

If they did an Xmen Origin show on Disney+ it would be pretty interesting. Almost all the xmen have gone through some sort of trauma or something abnormal before moving into the institute, having high quality episodes of the major X characters would be interesting if done well so we can see the display of their powers before they start training. Seeing how Jean, Scott, Hank and Bobby were found, finding Kurt at the circus, going to a village in Kenya and seeing Ororo being worshipped while making it rain… it would give marvel fans who aren’t familiar with the characters a good place to start while introducing them into the MCU and introducing the audience to a found family before going in on the films…​but it all depends on the direction the MCU is moving🤷🏽‍♀️

This a character that open doors for some many people, with or without the xmen is spoken about with high regard, has fought wars, lead teams, has fought and gone through hell and back and has been an icon from the moment she was introduced…

THIS IS STORM!!! A peacemaker, a diplomat, a voice for many, a fighter… she has always been the moment. Yall better get with it!!!

I’m not jumping for joy until I see where Hickman is taking Storm in ‘21 there’s been a lot of reintroduction to Storm than any other character which is nice but still... This new arc’s focus on Storm is great cause she’s had her origin story picked and altered for everyone else’s amusement for years.

I just want a meaningful character development. I need a deeper introduction to origin story. Someone who’s connected to the earth should have be able to see more about Krakoa than anyone else...

But I’ll wait... the art for this weeks Maurauders was beautiful tho
