For my practitioners in the south: what's an old remedy, superstition or general "rule" you grew up with?
I remember the time I got stung by a wasp my dad pulled out his chewing tobacco, got it wet, put it on the sting and made me wear a band-aid over it. Was suppose to "pull out the sting". Can't say I remember if it worked or not, since it was so young.

Being a Hestia Devotee and having executive dysfunction can be rough.
As part of my devotion I would like to do some spring cleaning and cleansing of the house. Sadly standing in the middle of a room and being overwhelmed is not the best method.
Are you like me?
May I point to you an app called Goblin Tools.
You put in the task you want to do and then how spicy your brain is that day.
It breaks it down into steps and if you click the magic wand is will break it down even further. This way you can follow the directions step by step without feeling overwhelmed.
As you can see in the picture above I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do this weekend :)
Hope this helps you too!

As a southern kitchen witch, my favorite protection spell would have to be a making sweet tea. It can also be used as a hospitality spell. So I'm gonna share the recipe for the perfect southern sweet tea!
1 gallon pitcher
2 cups sugar (sweetness, love, friendship, hospitality, happiness)
4-5 black tea bags (I like Luiziane) (protection, energy)
Sun water or plain water
* Place tea bags into a kettle or pot or whatever it is you use to make tea with enough water to cover the tea bags (you want this strong)
* let boil for a few minutes careful not to spill over.
* place your sugar into the gallon pitcher and pour the hot tea on top of it making sure to dissolve all the sugar (this is the part where you can stir in your intentions)
* fill the pitcher the rest of the way up with cold water and place in the fridge to cool for a few hours

rocks 🪨 ✨
so going clockwise from the top right. the ones on the right, Mom got me off temu as part of my birthday present months ago. the ones on the left, I got last night along with the key. and then there's dice I got forever ago to the left of that, and my blue bag of runes in the background.
can't remember what the red is. green looks like jade, purple is amethyst, brown I assume is tiger's eye, and two small smooth pieces of quartz. it's missing lapis lazuli that threw itself down the drain the first night I shadowed a tour at the shop/ company I'm gonna be working with.
the rest on the left I got last night at a local witchy store. well, they appear to have expanded here to New Orleans but got their start in Salem? I went into Omens but apparently they're the sister store to Hex: Old World Witchery. (old world they say, but have voodoo stuff on their shops, smh. xP)
there's a hunk of quartz there at the bottom that's the clearest, and to the left of it is opalite. the black is supposedly jet and the purple with green specks is grape agate?
both the brown one, and the clear one with orange, were in the bin that said aragonite
the bright green with the swirls is malachite and the green with white is apparently tree agate
some more pictures from different angles. the picture with the black background is from last night right after I'd gotten them because that's my skirt, lol
so according to the labels in the shop I got them from:
opalite: to work on self-love, improve mood, & attract business
jet: for divination & "to invoke the Great Goddess"
grape agate: prophetic dreams, visions, & intense meditation
aragonite: to draw upon the energies of "the Earth Goddess"
tree agate: to restore energy, relax, & connect deeply with nature
malachite: for love, balance, guarding children, & protection
Idk how I feel about those descriptions but they definitely jumped out at/ called to me, and for similar feelings to what the description said even if the descriptions didn't feel or seem quite completely the most accurate.

Southern Superstitions #7
Buy a new broom when you move into a new home. Don't bring your old broom, or you'll bring the troubles from your previous home with ya.
This is one I've known of for a while now but ain't sure of its origins. Bringing an old broom into a new home is said to bring all the bad luck and problems you had at your previous home with ya. Buy a new broom when you move to start fresh.

I watched from the sidelines for a while feeling called by Hestia and Hephaestus. I decided to take the steps forward to worship..
Next thing I know I’m being told to leave my hair alone, let it grow, stop dying it. Take your vitamins. Start eating more balanced foods, Continue your morning yoga.
How did Hestia know the hardest devotional to give me would be to take care of myself 😑

Decided to do a more witchy design for our redbubble shop. I myself am a witch from the American south, so I wanted to do designs to represent that. More will come for this section, designs around southern, Appalachian, and Kentucky folklore and myth.
