How the heck does our ship get spiderwebs?? Did spiders come on board?? I’m going to be sleeping outside in the void of space if we don’t find the damn spider(s)!!

YAYY FOR SCIENCE
I did a little experiment with deceased spiders where I injected their abdomens with liquid that would preserve them. If you've ever kept a dead spider, particularly one that is too small to be taxidermied properly (such as a widow), you'll understand what I mean when I say that the abdomen collapses and dries up, leaving the spider looking pretty strange. I was able to combat this, I injected hand sanitizer into one and modge podge into the other (which seems to be drying quite nicely), and they are both preserved well.
The two specimens differed, however, one having an already collapsed abdomen and missing the red hourglass on its bottom (discoloration upon deterioration, I suppose) and the other having been freshly dead. The latter I put two holes in, one to push the insides out and to inject the liquid in.
It Worked!!! Yippee!!!

and they were roommates
a napoleon spider (Synema globosum) sharing a flower with a spotted chafer (Oxythyrea funesta) might seem like an unlikely pair, but i've never seen one of these spiders even attempt to catch a beetle despite both species being very common. they must prefer lighter prey
here's another spider preying on a nomad bee (Nomada sp.) and a bunch of chafers partying together

spiders have got to figure out contracting I need to be able to call my local spiders union and be like "hey can you send a guy out for a few days the fruit flies are back" and then pay it in spider currency. I'll learn the conversion rates. I'll be generous with my rounding. please.

Speaking up and educating people on why the most hated life forms on the planet are important and meaningful is a thankless task.
How do we reach out and get people to care about insects and spiders when the average reaction is either "EEWW KILL IT WITH FIRE" or blind panic?
Arthropods are crucial to the survival of life as we know it. Yes, even commonly vilified bugs like wasps and mosquitoes have ecological niches that the world CANNOT do without.
I cannot overstate their importance.

I was making coffee and I heard a "mpeep" behind me so I turn around an on my kitchen floor sits Kotelet, the tiny stray that visits me every day, and to her side sits a big fat house spider, you know the one that gets stuck in your bath.
So I go "Hey ehh, you brought a buddy?" and she looks down at the spider and swallows it in one go -legs and everything- and looks back at me with these cute big eyes
