i just hate how c//a stans act like adora isn't allowed to exist outside of catra. as if everything she does has to relate to catra in some way.

ppl make comparisons between hunter (toh) and catra, but personally i think it makes more sense to compare him with adora.

hunter was also brainwashed into believing he was doing smth good. hunter was the prodigy, the golden guard. but eventually he realizes his entire life was a lie and he runs away. he's also haunted by his origins once he finds out the grim details. not to mention both hunter and adora were, in a way, possessed/corrupted by their abusers (which catra does to adora in s2).

while i definitely don't think h/untlow is as bad as c//a, i do believe it was badly written and in turn it never solved hunter's identity issues bc he had to save willow (a character who was definitely done dirty as well). he ended up looking like another caleb even though we never see him processing it all. similarly, adora's entire character arc of finding out about her bio family is dropped in s5 so they could push c//a.

when i look at all of this, i srsly could never compare hunter to catra. hunter may be snarky but even before his redemption, he was never as terrible as catra. i would say she's more like belos than anything.

i looooove glimmer i love how she’s pink and cute and sparkly and mean and aggressive yet well intentioned and smart and kind and PASSIONATE. i love how righteously angry she is and how it factors into her growth as a character. i think she’s a great role model on a kid’s show because so often pink and feminine characters are not allowed to be as expressive with their negative emotions as the other characters but glimmer has the range to do it all. it’s refreshing to see feminimity and emotion portrayed together so positively. little girls deserve to see that their emotions are a good thing and that passion and kindness can coexist. and on top of it all she’s chubby and it’s NEVER made fun of and she’s still allowed to be beautiful and feminine. glimmer is the most girl of all time i love her so much

Hey so if you saw this post on my profile pic and thought it looked cool, here is some others I did a few years back (not redesigns though)

For those who don’t feel like reading the OG post, it basically talks about how my profile pic is basically a screenshot from the show that I edited slightly, traced over, then made a lineless version of. None of these are redraws, and I don’t want to pretend that they are.

These are basically edits that I put way too much effort into. I did these for fun and because I think they’d look neat.

You can also use them as profile pics if you want. Just maybe make a small post explaining that you got it from this post and also add a link. These were partially traced, but I put effort into that tracing, and while I don’t want full credit, I don’t want someone else to get credit for something nobody should get credit for!

Also, maybe tag me if you use it? Just because I do think it’d be neat to see someone use one of these.

what the fuck is a mean hufflepuff?? their defining trait is literally kindness. hufflepuffs are known for being kind, compassionate and impartial people.

nate is just making shit up at this point. i haven't watched nor read harry potter, and even i know what the hogwarts houses are. you can't sort your most ruthless villain into hufflepuff and say “okay but they're not like other hufflepuffs, they're mean hehe” because then they wouldn't be in hufflepuff.

Gods that scene where Catra, in S3 "Remember", holds onto Adora and says "stay with me" just breaks my heart. Her hesitation in asking Adora what she wants. Her full, complete buy in of this "perfect" reality. Not perfect because of that power she's always saying she wants, heck, Adora is succeeding in CATRAS perfect reality, in their shared perfect reality. It's perfect because... Adora stayed. She stayed. For once in her life she stayed. Except she doesn't. Even here... she leaves.

Yeah, it sucks! I think the minimum the show could've done for H/untlow to feel more natural was have Willow show signs that she liked Hunter in return. Like, maybe have Willow blush more often at him - as far as I remember, she only blushes at Hunter in For the Future, not anywhere before that. Or maybe Willow could talk about her crush on Hunter with other characters (especially Luz and Amity, who are already dating and could give her some advice).

But I don't know, it just looked like an one-sided crush from the beginning. I actually would've preferred that. Sometimes we have crushes that won't really go anywhere, and that's okay. That needs to be more common in kids shows IMO.
