You asked us to send you headcanons, so. I think it would be funny if, before he learned Tim was Robin, Bernard was a die hard Robin/Superboy shipper. It just has so much potential.

gonna be honest, the closest i get to consuming any bernard content is through tumblr posts. i have close to zero concept of him as an actual character.

i did see a post like this the other day though and thought it was really amusing. i think it's a hilarious concept, and can see it happening with other vigilantes.

imagine poor steph, having to listen to a friend talk about how they think spoiler and robin are 'an item', fresh off breaking up with tim.

or dick, talking to a co-worker at a temporary barista job he picked up, and she's going on about how when the teen titans were a thing, she always 'felt bad' for aqualad, because kid flash and robin obviously had something going on as they got older, and wonder girl.. well she was just too good for any of them.

“I told you not to go, babe,” Steph says unsympathetically, even as she dabs a cloth to Tim’s cheek. “Look what happened.”

Tim grimaces, his red lipstick making his mouth look like a bloody slash on his face—matching the actual cut on his cheek. He holds an ice pack against his ribs.

His wig is askew, and with the faux leopard fur coat no longer wrapped around his shoulders, he looks strangely small and delicate in his black dress. Tim has always been a wisp of a thing, but Steph never notices as much until he’s dressed up as Caroline. And then all she can think about is leaving finger shaped bruises all around those dainty little wrists.

One of his wrists is already bruised, by fingers much thicker than Steph’s.

“I know,” he says begrudgingly, wincing a little when speaking tugs at his injuries. “But we needed that intel.”

“Badly enough that you couldn’t arrange for some kind of back-up?” Steph asks, incredulous, dabbing at one of the cuts a bit harder than she needs to. Tim hisses under her. “Shit, Tim. Undercover work is dangerous. You know that. The amount of things that could have gone wrong…”

Tim as Caroline… all alone at a shady bar…

The amount of cases they’ve both worked where that was where it all started can’t be counted. Tim knows better than most men just how badly a girl alone at a bar can be hurt. It doesn’t matter how much training he has, either, not if he can’t use it.

Tim catches her wrist. His fingers are so pale against her skin. Not that she gets much more sun than he does, but, what little she does get seems to stick.

“But it didn’t,” he says, looking up at her earnestly. His contacts are still in; ice blue eyes turned whiskey brown instead. Fitting, for the way he makes her chest burn, her fingers prickle, her face flush.

“This time,” she whispers, cupping his cheek. “Tim… you’ve got to be more careful. If not for yourself, then for me. Please.”

Tim closes his eyes, leaning into her touch like he’s starved for it. “I… I’ll try,” he whispers.

She leans down, their noses brushing. “That’s all I ask,” she whispers, before catching him in a kiss that tastes like tequila sunrise and copper.

An unpopular thought: DC should stop presenting Steph in Tim Drake-centric comics as Tim's ex-girlfriend who has to get along with all his friends and boyfriend, and instead show Steph in a Steph-centric comic as her own person with her own interests and friends separately from Tim. 🤷🏻‍♀️
