Throwback to first weeks of uni and reading about the ancient philosophy in the library. 2nd throwback to trip to Budapest a few weeks ago. Feeling so grateful today ✨
1. use the pomodoro technique - studying for hours on end is putting yourself on the road to burnout. take 45 or 50 minutes (or even shorter) and spend that time soley dedicated to work and then take a 10-15 min break - go talk to your friends/family, get a study snack, get outside for some fresh air
2. spaced repetition - going over a topic (even if it is briefly) mutliple times in anticipation for an exam or test will make it easier for your brain to retrieve and store content
3. handwrite notes - you are more likely to remember content if you physically write it out; even better, try and explain concepts in your own words instead of passively copying out a textbook or lecture
4. explore different resources - try and find videos, studies, podcasts about the topic you are learning about. get different people to explain the same concept; this helps to solidify concepts and allows me to stop relying on my lecturers to explain a concept in a way I understand
5. practice papers - a great way to practice retrieving and applying knowledge is to do questions. this allows you to test your active recall and is far more effective than rewriting notes or skiming through the textbook

studied physics all day, not able to keep up with the schedule but still managing. Got a test tomorrow and i don't think I'm completely prepared but let's see. These pencils w/ erasers and aam panna really be reminding me of good old days. I wish they taught physics the way this book does. I've never enjoyed reading studying material as much I'm doing these days. Good luck to you if you're preparing for some upcoming test. Okbyeee
Ps. I just crossed more than 150 followers and i don't believe it but thankssss

Summer review courses are officially over and the week of frantic prep begins! I feel WAY better about quantum mechanics. My first qual will be classical and thermal so I’m going to start sifting through my homework from earlier in the summer and organize an equation sheet.
I also emailed one of the professor I’m interested in working with (who I’ve talked to a bit before) and he suggested that I shadow some of the experiments later this week!!! That will be such a nice mid-week break from qual studying.
This weekend I made made sure to relax and rest, which is so important!!! This included an impromptu day trip to pick fresh fruit!
The interview was interesting… don’t think I’m getting the position, but I wasn’t very serious about it in the first place. Plan for the weekend is to get some homework done and prep for another week in lab!
I have been decluttering my digital space and I found a few photos from really nice cafe with tons of plants. I went there to write my uni assignment because I love working in places like this.
Now I’m waiting for my next philosophy exam, I’m so stressed 😩
5th December - Are you usually busy during winter?
Yes, especially during the high school years.
6th December - Do you get a break from school/uni/work during winter?
Usually, yes. But our school often gives us a break in November so if that happens, no breaks in December.
7th December - How do you stay motivated during winter?
I usually convince myself to finish task A so that I can read another chapter of my current read or drink something hot and sweet. The key is to bribe your mind.
8th December - When should people start preparing for, decorating and celebrating Christmas?
Anytime which they deem as fit! Usually, early December, it is.
9th December - What do you usually do during the holidays?
Me mostly visit our grandparents but for the past few years, we just stay at home (because, school). So, I read!
