Happy Belated Valentine's Day! 馃挄
I got to transform paint this background for the Solar Opposites holiday special! It was such a joy to make all the colors fit for such a love struck occasion! I definitely took color inspiration from the target valentines day section, it had to look aesthetic!
Solar Opposites Valentine's Day special is on Hulu!

tumblr tuesday: hyrule compendium
The world is healing, Rauru is great, your art blocks are being cured, and no one, absolutely no one, is thinking of the Zelda x Link ship name being Linda instead of Zelink. Tears of the Kingdom is here, and mentally, we're all in Hyrule for the foreseeable future. Here's some fanart for your heart containers.
(Please, proceed with caution. There are mild spoilers for the game ahead!)

Lunar New Year washi tape design for my collaboration with The Washi Station! I was very much inspired by my family's love to decorate our home with florals to celebrate the festivities! Each florals represents something special to bring prosperity and luck for the household!
My friend Aviva, runs this beautiful little small Washi tape store that collaborates with different artists on a washi tape design! Check out the website for other designs from talented artists!

Thank you so much everyone that came out to Lightbox Expo two weeks ago! It was so wonderful to meet everyone old and new!
Being a creative can be isolating so being part of events like these gives me a chance to talk to other artists and creative alike face to face! I am so grateful for everyone that stopped by, I really appreciate it!
I have finally updated all the new goodies on my store online! New prints, stickers, book, tote bags and old restocks. If you would like to grab anything please feel free to head over here : susanyung.com/store

The Royal Guard Swordtember design from my last post actually started out as a gouache painting! I actually wanted to do the whole series in gouache but I think that was more work that I thought it would be. Hence the animated gifs came to life, which was a blessing in disguise cause I really enjoyed doing those!
I did do a base drawing but it actually took me a while to sit down to finish it. I don't know what came over me but that fear was real. I realized all it took was the first brush stroke and if it looked like crap so be it.
Thanks to this piece I wouldn't have started the others in digital and even added a bit of animation to it!

Cute Travel Bug tote bags have arrived just in time for LightBox Expo! I'm so happy with how it turned out. I wanted to dedicate this tote to all the travellers and wanderers, life's always an adventure. This is a thick canvas tote bag, screen printed perfect for your farmers market shopping!
I thought a little acrylic charm would complete the look as well. I always have a soft spot of little charms, and had a ton of those on my phone back in the day!
Totes will go online after the expo!

Finally get to share some Background paintings that I did on Glitch Techs!! :) I'll be sharing some over the next few days just because I've been so excited to share them! Here's some of Miko's bedroom and an Exterior of the Miko's house! :) had so much fun adding colors to the clutter in her room :) Sometimes as a BG painter you have to paint another view of an existing background, which is what I had to do with the Miko's house exterior. It really challenges you to think how the colors and lights are affected on a different view.
Thank you Scott Kikuta for the wonderful art direction! Loved working with Steve Eat and Miche Perez on BG paint together!!! I'm so sorry but I don't remember which designers did which BG's so I'm gonna credit them all! Thanks Ceaser Martinez, Alex Lee and Erik Payne!
