New arachnid for me. Sometimes called tailless whip scorpions, I prefer the name amblypygi. Sold as paraphrynus mexicanus, I'm still getting this ID double checked.
Edit: ID'd as Phrynus whitei, remember to double check when you buy inverts as even experienced sellers can have trouble with ID, especially on more niche animals!

Francisco is pretty much done hardening after his molt, so here he is with Alfonso for comparison. Alfonso isn’t as small as I thought, but he’s still got youthful rosy cheeks that will fade when he’s older

bonus image from when both of them got on Alfonso’s board. he was not happy about the intrusion and deployed his Mad But Polite About It Legs

Chinese Water Deer: "they are deer with fangs. what isn't freaky about that"
Tailless Whip Scorpion: "I'm voting for them because I'm very scared of arachnids but I saw one of these in a zoo once and I was so bewildered that my body forgot to activate the fight or flight response. I think about them all the time and I think they genuinely helped me be less scared of spiders"
