i very much dislike when people like that anon imply that the only people who fought for ussr were slavs, and maybe only russians at that. just wiping millions of soldiers, artists, poets in “its territory”, including my ancestors, who fought for it and for socialism. sukhbaatar? aliya moldagulova? mullanur waxitov? rasul gamzatov? i can walk around my city and find thousands of those memorialized by ussr, foreign and not.
hell, even stalin himself was georgian. dzerzhinskyi was polish. does that suddenly not matter to liberals, do these people magically become russian orcs?
this is not to imply that soviets were perfect, so much of it’s treatment of non-slavs sucked ass, but to just ignore how many of them actively participated in ussr, actively build it, is ridiculous. maybe those indigenous people weren’t dumb and weak puppets idk.
Yeah, an admittedly minor part of this is that really fucking bothers me when liberals conflate the ussr with tsarist/modern Russia, and when they talk about ww2 they say Russia beat Germany or that Germany attacked Russia. It was the joined sacrifice of belarussians, ukranians, lithuanians, latvians, estonians, georgians, armenians, azeris, kazakhs, uzbeks, turkmens, tajikis, kyrgyz, mongolians, tuvans, russians, and that's just the ones with a republic. It was the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics that beat fascism and liberated most concentration camps

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s intelligence ministry on Thursday identified a top suspect, described as ringleader and bomb-maker, in the twin suicide bombings last week claimed by the Islamic State group as the death toll from the attack rose to at least 94, state media reported.
The Jan. 3 attack, in which two suicide bombers targeted a commemoration for an Iranian general slain in a 2020 U.S. drone strike in Iraq, was the deadliest in Iran in decades as the wider Middle East remains on edge.
One bomber first detonated his explosives at the ceremony in Kerman, about 820 kilometers (510 miles) southeast of the capital, Tehran, then another attacked 20 minutes later as emergency workers and other people tried to help the wounded from the first explosion.
The official IRNA news agency carried a statement by the intelligence ministry saying the main suspect who planned the bombing was a Tajik national known by his alias Abdollah Tajiki.
According to IRNA, the suspect had entered the country in mid-December by crossing Iran's southeast border, and left two days before the attack, after making the bombs.
The report also identified one of the bombers by his family name of Bozrov, saying the man was 24 years old and had Tajik and Israeli nationality. It said he also arrived in Iran by crossing the southeastern border after months of training by IS in Afghanistan.
The report further said authorities were still trying to identify the second suicide-bomber. In its claim of responsibility, the Islamic State group had identified the two bombers as Omar al-Mowahed and Seif-Allah al-Mujahed.
Iranian authorities have so far arrested 35 people across several provinces with purported links to the bombings, the report added.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the attack rose to 94 on Thursday, from the previous 91 fatalities reported on Sunday. Iranian media said 14 of the dead were Afghan nationals who were participating in the commemoration for Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who led the paramilitary's expeditionary Quds Force.

The Story of Rustam, Rakhsh, and the Demons
Tumblr media

The Story of Rustam, Rakhsh, and the Demons Translated from the 9th-century Sogdian by N. Sims-Williams
Sogdian was an Indo-European language written and spoken in Transoxiana, modern-day Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. It included a considerable corpus of literature and contributed to modern Farsi Dari Tajiki. Traders spoke Sogdian on the Silk Route. This 9th-century manuscript was found in 1907 in a cave in Dunhuang, China, on the edge of the Gobi Desert and one of the ancient world's significant crossroads between East and West.
The story recounts Rustam, the champion warrior in Ferdowsi's epic Shahnama written in the 11th century, his horse Rakhsh and a battle with demons who have besieged a city.
Rustam is the son of Rudaba, princess of Kabul, and Zal, prince of Zabulistan near current-day Helmand. Rakhsh is Rustam's Kabuli stallion and sidekick. The manuscript does not have a conclusive end, yet it has the exact dynamic language as Ferdowsi's epic.
[The demons] immediately fled towards [the city]. Rustam went in pursuit right up to the city gates. Many demons died from being trampled; only a thousand managed to enter the city. They shut the gates.
Rustam returned with great renown. He went to a good pasture, stopped, took off the saddle, and let his horse loose on the grass. He, himself, rested, ate a meal, was satisfied, spread a rug, lay down, and began to sleep.
The demons stood in malevolent consultation. They said to one another: It was a great evil, a great shame on us, that we should have taken refuge in the city from a single horseman. Why should we not go out? Either let us all die and be annihilated, or let us exact vengeance for our lords!
The demons, who were left a meager remnant of their former strength, began to prepare great heavy equipment with strong armor and with great.
They opened the city gates. Many archers, many charioteers, many riding elephants, many riding monsters, many riding pigs, many riding foxes, many riding dogs, many riding on snakes and on lizards, many on foot, many who went flying like vultures and …, many upside-down, the head downwards and the feet upwards: they all bellowed out a roar, they raised a mighty storm, rain, snow, hail, [lightning] and thunder, they opened their evil mouths and spouted fire, flame, and smoke. They departed in search of the valiant Rustam.
Then the observant Rakhsh came and woke Rustam. Rustam arose from his sleep, quickly donned his leopard-skin garment, tied on his bow case, mounted Rakhsh, and hastened towards the demons.
When Rustam saw from afar the army of the demons, he said to Rakhsh: Come, sir, run away little [by little]; let us perform [a trick] so that the demons [pursue us] to the flat [plain …]. Rakhsh agreed.
Immediately Rustam turned back. When the demons saw, at once, both the cavalry and the infantry quickly hurled themselves forward. They said to one another: Now the chief's hope has been crushed; no longer is he prepared to do battle with us. By no means, let him escape! Do not kill him either, but take him alive so that we may show him evil punishment and harsh torture!
The demons encouraged one another greatly; they all howled and departed in pursuit of Rustam. Then Rustam turned round and attacked the demons like a fierce lion attacking a deer or a hyena attacking a flock or herd, like a falcon attacking a [hare or] a porcupine attacking a snake, and he began [to destroy] them …

Fruits are in new colours of green and gold I wish to write text on them and see...
Alphabets in Farsi/Arabic have same shape and sound showing text have been borrowed and few sounds extra are being added in farsi, As Pa sound is missing in Arabic which they replace it with Ba Pepsi is Bebsi...
The word written in Farsi is Tajiki I could read because it use Farsi Script, As In my written research record we have seen the imposition of Cyrillic script of Russian when Soviet Union was formed and the local language had to go underground.... reviving its text again after the collapse of Soviet Union...

If you’re a high school student and United States citizen with an interest in foreign languages (or you know someone who fits that description), definitely take the time to look into the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y)! (If you’re a US citizen with an interest in foreign language but you’re an undergrad or graduate student, check out CLS instead!) NSLI-Y is a State Department-sponsored scholarship program that sends high school students abroad for a summer or academic year to study a critical-need language. It is FULLY FUNDED, which means the scholarship covers all tuition, travel expenses, visa fees, accommodations, and even medical insurance. The languages offered for NSLI-Y’s 2019-20 programs are as follows:
Arabic (summer and academic year offered)
Chinese - Mandarin (summer and academic year offered)
Hindi (summer and academic year offered)
Indonesian (summer only)
Korean (summer and academic year offered)
Persian - Tajiki (summer only)
Russian (summer and academic year offered)
Turkish (summer only)
(If you’re a student of German, you might consider CBYX.)
NSLI-Y students participate in intensive language classes, as well as cultural classes/activities and excursions. They may live with host families, in dorms, or a combination of both. Participants are sent as part of a group of other accepted students to one of a number of pre-determined host locations, so NSLI-Y is also an amazing opportunity to meet peers from around the country who share your passion for languages! NO PREVIOUS LANGUAGE OR TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Applications opened today (August 22, 2018) and are due October 30, 2018 in order to be considered for the 2019 summer or 2019-20 academic year programs.
As an alumna of NSLI-Y’s Chinese summer program, I’m more than happy to try and answer any questions you might have! (You can send your questions to either of my blogs: @adventuresofyifen or @zhongwenstudieren.) You can also head over to my Wordpress blog for a compilation of past NSLI-Y blogs from all languages to get an idea of past program locations and participants’ experiences!
