bellamy’s mindset through the show can basically be broken up into 3 parts: we save who we can save (s1-4, 6), the ends justify the means (5), and sacrificing the few to save the many (7). there are caveats to all of this: in s1-4, bellamy will put the life of octavia over everyone else. in season 5, spacekru is where his loyalties lie and who he is willing to protect above all else, but only after his relationship with both octavia and clarke is severed. in season 7 this just isn’t true anymore. he’s trying to save everyone, not just his people, and he isn’t willing to run into situations that would get himself killed to save them anymore. it was the start of him learning how to balance himself and what he wants/believes in ( for once ) with the interests of the people he loves. for the first time ever, the few include his family. prior to that, he was willing to do anything for them, willing to die and kill, and it was just what could have been a conclusion to his arc because finally finally finding self love and not putting everything he is in others. that’s all i’m gonna say about s7 bc .. yeah.
in early seasons, he also focuses more on protecting his people as a way to justify his choices. i once read a post talking about how bellamy says protect and clarke says save, and I think that does a good job at hinting where his mindset is. bellamy takes preemptive action as a way to try and protect his people. he can’t see 89 steps ahead of him, he only sees what is directly in front of him. this inability to look ahead and focus on saving who is in front of him has indirectly caused the deaths of multiple people -- and because it’s bellamy he of course blames himself for them too but it’s not something he thinks of until confronted with it.
season 1
i don’t really have a lot of examples for s1 because it’s really .. a lot of protecting octavia & himself
hanging murphy is one though. when they discover murphy’s knife, i do believe bellamy put the pieces together before everyone else. i’ve talked a bit before about that and how based off what’s been shown, i think he was going to talk to murphy when they were alone instead of outright. this is also one of my examples when i think about how bellamy & abby have a similar leadership style. he’s more willing to keep that a secret because he understands how people will response - and he ends up being right. instead of blaming himself for this though, he transfers the blame onto clarke because he didn’t want people to know for this exact reason. he at that point had also put trust and faith in murphy and would have wanted to protect him from that, but by the time he hangs him, he has to choose between murphy and the rest of the delinquents. the delinquents are more important to keeping octavia safe if they’re on his side, and he has to go through with it. flash forward, and his relationship with murphy becomes increasingly contentious because murphy then leads the manhunt against charlotte. charlotte, to him, is just an innocent kid and he can’t handle murphy being willing to go after a child ( basically insert misplaced big brother feelings ). he feels the intense need to protect charlotte, even when it comes out that she’s guilty, and that goes first.
destroying the radio. this was a big protect himself ( and therefore protect o because he still believes he’s the only one that can ) moment. if raven could contact the ark and let them know that they’re all alive, then he’s as good as dead. he doesn’t know about the culling of the ark, at least not that it’s happening now. even still, clarke saying that it’s his people ( factory station ) that will die... isn’t on his mind. he knows that’s true, knows that it’ll be his people and not the elite. the beginning of s1 is rooted in his focus on the power dynamics on the ark in this way and it’s how he connects with the delinquents. by destroying the radio, he effectively signs the death warrants of 300 people. while he does try to stop this by showing them where he threw the radio and working on setting flares off, it’s another way that bellamy indirectly kills people because of his desire to protect (himself and) octavia.
focus on the number dead vs alive. this is just a big bellamy thing especially earlier on. bellamy focuses on the number dead when they’re leaving camp, and clarke has to correct him to the number that are still alive. the delinquents at this point are his people, and he has felt every death ( she only came because of me ). his focus is on the people he couldn’t save, and that continues going into season 2
season 2
mel. when faced with mel, bellamy says that they don’t know how if their people are still alive, but they can save this one girl. this really begins his we save who we can save today mindset, and he focuses on the fact that they can help her when the odds are insurmountable.
infiltrating mount weather + protecting echo. the 100 are his people; it doesn’t matter what the risks are because he’s doing what he can to bring them back and get them out. while in mount weather, other people become his people, such as maya. it’s also another moment where bellamy has to kill someone in order to escape the cages ( a direct threat to himself and others there ). bellamy has no reason to trust or protect echo at this point because he’s just come out of the war with the grounders and still prejudiced against them, and yet when they come at her, he makes noise so they take him ( the strong ) instead. he does what he has to to ensure that she’s protected for the time being, and then she helps him in return. killing the mount weather guard didn’t completely hit him until he saw the son of the person he killed, having to confront that there are children in mount weather and that the person he killed had people that needed him.
pulling the lever. bellamy focuses on the people that have helped him and the children in mount weather as people that need to be saved too. they helped him so there has to be another way. it’s hearing raven being tortured and seeing that octavia will be too that makes him change his mind and help clarke because he sees that they don’t have time. as much as the other’s have helped him, they aren’t his people. octavia is his responsibility and he needs to make sure he protects her first.
season 3
the massacre. i’m only going to focus on this here because it’s really the main thing but also brings him back into the we save who we can save. he asked gina to stay back to protect her, thinking she’d be safer there. he spent early s3 focused on finding and bringing clarke back as well. bellamy is also still recovering from having to kill people in mount weather because of lexa’s betrayal, and because of his prejudices, he lumps all grounders into one and is unable to see that azgeda blew up mount weather, not trikru. when lexa sends trikru warriors to protect them, he doesn’t believe the intentions because the last time they were there to help them, they made a deal with the enemy and turned their backs. they’re always going to put their people first. so is bellamy. the entire time he backs pike, it’s focusing on protecting their people. he doesn’t go into the massacre thinking that he wants to kill people, tries to get pike to spare the women and children and does convince him to spare indra ( i honestly don’t remember what the reasoning was but i think it has to do with her importance to octavia and at this point lincoln too ). he thinks that he’s protecting his people before they can get killed. this is a shift from the past two seasons too, which obviously influence this because he didn’t strike first in season 1 or against the mountain men in s2 and it led to the deaths of some of the delinquents and torture of raven. act first and he doesn’t have to live in fear of them attacking first, and thus convincing himself that he’s protecting everyone.
season 4
blowing up the hydrogenator. this is one of the best examples of bellamy being unable to think ahead. outside of his intense faith in raven, he thinks they have six months to figure something else out. he sees the suffering in those people now. he can’t do anything about praimfaya, but he can save the people here. they’re being forced to work, they’re going to be moved, and a little girl tells him all of this. he sees the suffering and has to act ( how many people do you have to save before you forgive yourself ). these people had one day, but by saving them, the skaikru survival number has gone from 500 to 100. raven and clarke are able to see that he just sentenced all of these people to death, but bellamy sees that he gave them another day to live.
opening the bunker. octavia above everyone else. clarke is telling him what the consequences of opening the bunker would be, but he can’t focus on that because octavia is on the other side of the bunker. it’s not just octavia though because kane is out there too. by opening the bunker, bellamy is again sentencing 400 people to death, and he again doesn’t view it this way. he sees that octavia and kane will die if he doesn’t. by doing this he also inadvertently saved 600 more people, which matters after the time jump.
protecting echo. this !! is the moment that sparked this entire thing. it’s so subtle but when emori’s suit breaks, bellamy steps in front of echo and stops murphy from taking it. it’s another one of those moments where by doing this, he effectively sentenced emori to death. it’s not that he was trying to do this, and while i also use this moment as a way to show that b/echo always had a foundation even if bellamy pretended like they didn’t, it’s also just that he knows echo. anyway, if murphy takes echo’s suit, echo will die. bellamy steps in front with that mindset, not that by not letting murphy do this, emori dies.
season 5
threatening the lives of 300 inmates. not much has changed huh. bellamy threatening 300 people for the life of 1 ( who it’s important to note he originally thought was octavia ). octavia still comes first even after six years in space. upon finding out that clarke is alive, he doesn’t change his strategy because ... well.. she’s alive. he then uses this as leverage to save the rest of his people -- which at this stage, now includes wonkru just not in that train of thought. when it comes to saving the people in the bunker, he wants them all saved. even if o is still the priority at this point.
killing kara. ends justify the means. taking lives to save them. the difference is that now bellamy actually views it this way. it isn’t just about protecting his people, he’s acknowledging that he is killing them. he is sacrificing the few to save the many. the only reason why he isn’t completely in this mindset is because he’s trying to save octavia from herself. it’s the beginning stages of sacrificing his own people though, which was never an option prior to season 5. he was willing to do anything for those he had promised to protect, and kara was originally skaikru. now, she was completely wonkru but bellamy didn’t want to believe that wonkru was completely the enemy and that his sister was still in there somewhere ( this didn’t change until after she burned the farm because he would never be able to forgive her willingness to sacrifice her own people when there was another option. when peace was an option. he is entirely unable to see octavia’s perspective and why she needs to be out of the bunker. he’s had peace the past six years, even if not peace of mind, unlike octavia and so he only sees that there is another way ).
poisoning o + putting the chip in madi. prior to s5, he never would have poisoned o. he always thought that she would wake up and that they would have peace and she would understand. honestly prior to s5, putting the chip in madi probably also wouldn’t have been an option because of her age. this time he actually can see ahead more than he could before space, but he still doesn’t anticipate what does happen. he’s willing to betray clarke because honestly he thinks she’s overreacting. he still doesn’t think octavia will harm madi and he believes this is the only way to save them all. he’s terrified when it looks like madi might not wake up / take to the flame. ( and honestly part of why he can forgive clarke quickly is bc of this - he put her daughter in danger and he once upon a time would have done anything for o. ). putting madi at risk was a necessary risk to him though because it meant that all of their people might survive. he knows that the rest of his family is in danger if this doesn’t work, so it’s also putting spacekru above everyone else, and in the end he does decide them over o and clarke.
season 6
casting octavia out. while in s5 he had decided that his people specifically were spacekru, casting octavia out was because she was a threat to all of them. she had walked them into a war that destroyed earth, and after monty and harper died, he takes doing better to heart. he hasn’t forgiven himself for his actions on earth, many of which were to protect octavia, and his first action on sanctum is deciding that octavia is a threat that needs to be contained. she isn’t someone he knows anymore, and she is a threat to his family and everyone else. it’s not an easy decision, but he is deciding that she needs to go to keep everyone else safe from her. if octavia had died, it would have been another indirect death as a result of his actions, which i think he knows. i also think he blames octavia for monty & harper because if she hadn’t forced them into war, earth never would have been destroyed and they wouldn’t have spent their entire lives trying to find a new home for them. he isn’t going to let octavia threaten what monty and harper left for them.
clarke. i don’t remember a lot of s6 but he does backslide into putting one above all. he does try for peace prior to finding out clarke is alive, but clarke brings up all of these feelings in him about protection in general. he’s already cast out octavia, lost harper and monty, and he’s grieved clarke before. he can’t go through that again, so they come up with a plan. when it goes south, he still looks to echo for confirmation that she can handle it. when she gives him permission, he leaves. he no longer thinks about the people he left behind because all he can see is that clarke will die. if he doesn’t take action, she WILL die. he believes in echo and thinks that she can handle herself and so the people he left behind.. they’re safe in his head but clarke isn’t. he also partially blames himself for this because he should have known clarke would be a target and didn’t do anything. clarke is the person that needs to be saved and the one he knows that they can. when he finds out that that aren’t safe, he works to make sure that they will be.

Tagged by @rosyrosalie, @bcllamy and @bellarkesgodson. Thank you, guys ❤️
The moment I saw this I knew that I would end up with Clarke and Bellamy. And even though it was fun to think about and choose other characters, ultimately I knew what I would end up with. So I decided to eliminate them from the first round and ta-daaa.
I'll put my ramblings under if you wanna read them.

This was hard. Especially the women's bracket - I love all the 100 ladies (except Abby #sorrynotsorry). I've made choices mostly based on storylines, but with a few it was about the character themselves.
The Women's Bracket
The most difficult choice was Octavia vs Raven. Usually I would go with Raven. I've been rewatching the show and loving s1-s3 Raven (love the idea of her arc in s4, not really the execution though) but the last two seasons her writing has been lacking. I didn't like her storyline with Shaw at all. I feel like she's been in a standstill since end of s4 with the exception of her s6 arc which imo should've been how her s4 arc ended but I digress.
Octavia is the opposite. I didn't really like her all that much. She's a good character just not my favourite. But I loved her story on s5 and s6! She made such a good antagonist and her redemption (more like the beginning of her redemption) was really well-handled. She was one of the highlights of s6 so ultimately, that's why I chose her.
Probably most of my mutuals would be surprised that I chose Echo over Emori. I am too. 😁 This was a difficult choice too. Look, I like Emori. I think she is a great character. I think she has a lot of potential (luisa has been talking, about her story in season 7 and I'm excited!) but the last time she got a satisfactory story imo was season 4. Season 5 was good but I wish I'd seen more. I wish we saw her more outside of her relationship with Murphy. Echo, on the other hand, has her own story in s6 that I actually really enjoyed. She is fascinating. I like her as an antagonist season 2-4 and I think she was great in season 5 (I think it's really interesting to compare her to clarke; they're more alike than I thought).
During this rewatch I realised that a big part of why I loved Lxa was grounded in fanon, not canon. I really liked her in season 2. She was fierce, ruthless, mighty, interesting. I liked the development of her relationship with Clarke and how it changed her. However, I did not like her in season 3. Like at all. She's not a very good leader. I don't want to go on a tangent here and get myself killed by the fandom, but yeah, Diyoza was an easy choice. I loved her from her introduction. She's been compelling, consistent, true Slytheryn and I love her. And that is why ultimately, she won. Fingers crossed we see more if her in season 7 🤞🤞
The Men's Bracket
Murphy vs Monty was a hard choice. Monty has been one of my favourites since season 1. However, I went with Murphy because I hsve been enjoying his story during this rewatch and I'm excited to see how it ends in season 7.
I love Murphy, but not as much as I love Roan. He is a fascinating character. I loved his dynamic with Clarke and he is the only part of the season 3 Polis storyline I like. I think he was great in season 4 as well. I would've loved to see him go up in space with spacekru instead of echo but I know, I know the story wouldn't have worked well with him there. Anyway, Roan is da best and I need a spinoff of him and Clarke fucking shit up.
I'm honestly too lazy to explain the others but if you're insane you want my two cents, ask away :D.

The 100?
Thank you Nonnie!!! :)
Top 5 favourite characters:
Echo / Emori / Raven / Murphy / Octavia
Other characters you like:
A lot, actually! Off the top of my head, Lexa, Clarke (although not in the way most people like her, I enjoy her as an anti-hero lmao), Bellamy, Monty, Jasper, Lincoln, Indra!
Least favourite characters:
Aside from the obvious villains obviously, I’m gonna say Kane and Abby. I never really cared for their stories, I’ve hated Abby since season 1 and Kane since s5 there’s just something about them being absolutely awful leaders and blaming kids for their failures that I can’t get behind.
Otps:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically lmao.
No but seriously, I think their love story is just great on so many levels, they’re the only love story I really care about in the show.
Other couples I really like are: Bellamy and Echo, Octavia and Lincoln, Octavia and Niylah, Octavia and Diyoza, Murphy and Emori and Raven, Echo and Raven, Jasper and Maya, Monty and Harper
Notps:
..... Bellarke lmao.
I enjoy the dynamic between Bellamy and Clarke, but I never saw it as romantic, and that’s how I enjoyed it. I love their ennemies to reluctant allies dynamic, I love the fact that their relationship is dysfunctional I love the parallels between Clarke and Octavia. But I don’t enjoy it at all as a romantic dynamic.
Favourite friendships:
Monty and Jasper, Octavia and Jasper, Raven and Murphy
Favourite family:
This is almost only found family because this show has a ton of found family dnamics that I love!! The Blake siblings, Spacekru, Octavia Diyoza and Hope, Raven and Finn.
Favourite episodes:
Murphy’s Law, Blood Must have Blood part 1 and part 2, Thirteen, The Chosen, Pramfayia, Red Queen, The Garden
Favourite season/book/movie:
Season 2. It has my favorite version of Lexa, it has Bellamy and Echo meeting, it has the most interesting antagonists (in my opinion haha). Season 4 is a close second though!
Favourite quotes:
“You believe that to defeat an ennemy who will stop at nothing, you must stop at nothing. How is that any different than Blood must have Blood?” - Luna in s3, because I think this quote shows very well the central conflict of the show, one that was established by Finn in s1: We have to try not to repeat history, and yet everytime, they do repeat it. I disagree with Luna in that instance because the threat that was ALI wasn’t like any other, but I agree with her sentiment.
“In peace, may you leave this shore. In love, may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels. Until our final journey to the Ground. May we meet again.” LISTEN. If there’s is one thing of the world building I absolutely adore, it’s the Traveler’s Blessing. It’s a beautiful prayer, and it gives me all the right emotions when I think about it. I was disappointed with what the show was making of it in seasons 2 and 3, with characters saying it all around, but then there are two instances that really get to me: Octavia and Bellamy saying it over the dead radio at the end of s4, and Monty / Bellamy and Clarke saying it at the end of season 5.
Best musical moment:
I loved the way the music carried the scene right after Lexa’s death, how it melts from Lexa’s death and Titus saying his ritual words, to Becca reaching earth, back to Lexa and the Flame coming out of her.
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest:
Oh boy there are a LOT Off the top of my head: when Monty refuses to leave Jasper alone when he gives his blood to Maya, when Murphy says “Touch me again and I’ll end you... in a non-criminal way”, when Becho was confirmed in s5, When Clarke managed to align the satellite dish in Pramfyia, when Octavia confronted Skaikru in The Chosen,.... I can’t think of others right now but there are a lot lmao You can check out my favorite scenes series if you want, I’m working on it slowly!
When it really disappointed you:
A lot of times, honestly... I’m gonna say, all of season 6. I hated it. It had so much potential, with characters having to deal with the aftermath of season 5, Monty and Harper dying, Jordan existing, Wonkru.... Instead we got a whole mess that didn’t do much for any character and I was really disappointed.
Saddest moment:
Lincoln’s death. I knew it was coming because I knew the actor was leaving the show, but I was so NOT READY for it omg it’s the scene I still cry everytime I watch it because it’s so sad and heartwrenching....
Most well done character death:
Okay so I think The 100 is really bad at having well done character deaths, so I’m gonna say my less well-done one lmaoooo
Lexa’s. Her death was so stupid. I wasn’t in the fandom at the time so I wasn’t aware of the awful queerbaiting that was going on, so without talking about BTS and marketing ploys, I do believe that her death was heavily predicted by the show. However, it was a stupid death and Lexa was too awesome a character to die by a stray bullet. She deserved a proper send-off, she deserved to die in an epic battle, or fighting for what she believed in,..... not a bullet.
Favourite guest star:
I know Shawn Mendes (Mendez? I don’t know lmao i don’t know him) was a guest star but I don’t know any other guest star so I guess that’s my answer lmao
Favourite cast member:
I don’t follow the cast, so I don’t have a favorite xD
Character you wish was still alive:
Jasper and Finn both deserve to still be alive, because the show treated their mental struggles like shit and I’m very bitter about that!
One thing you hope really happens:
Honestly, I don’t know? We have four episodes left of the entire show and I have no idea where it’s headed lmao I guess I hope both Emori and Murphy survive to see the end and have a long and happy life <3
Most shocking twist:
Okay I actually have three so I’ll you my top three:
1- The revelation of the Mountain Men. I was absolutely NOT expecting this to happen and I was gasping and going “nooooooooo way!!!” at my computer because it was so out of nowhere!! I loved it lmao
2- Murphy discovers that ALI destroyed the world: the ending of s2. That scene is so chilling, Murphy watching the video of Chris crying and killing himself, cut with scenes of Jaha getting to the mansion and the wholse scene with ALI herself... that whole scene was really cool and unexpected!
3- Clarke and Jaha steal the bunker during the conclave. I was so SHOOK by this moment, it was such a bold move and I loved it!
When did you start watching/reading?:
Early January, 2015. I was back at my appartment waiting for the semester to start, my roommates weren’t back from the holidays yet, and I was bored. So I started the show, and I binged all of season 1 and half of season 2 in 24 hours xD I caught up at Spacewalker, and then had to wait two weeks for the next episode to air and it was agony!!!!
Best animal/creature:
HELIOS THE BEST HORSE THERE IS
Favourite location:
The Second Dawn Bunker. Yeah I know it’s strange coming from me because I absolutely hate so many things about the bunker xD But it was such a cool location!! With the rotunda/arena, the farm, the huge corridors,.....
Trope you wish they would stop using:
“It’s the end of the world, whatever shall we do???” I’m just tired you guys. Nuclear apocalypses and other bombings should not be that common lmao
One thing this show/book/film does better than others:
I love the fact that it has so many different and well developped female characters. It shouldn’t be rare, but it still is, and this show really stands out to me for that reason. I’m not saying it’s the peak of feminism or anything because lmao IT’S NOT. But the women of the show have agency, freedom, they’re all distinct from one another and not just tropes and cliches. I really like it.
Funniest moments:
Nothing comes to mind right now? I feel like an idiot lmao I have so many moments that make me laugh and I can’t think of a single one right now x)
Couple you would like to see:
I would love to have canon Murphy x Emori x Raven!!
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast:
Nobody haha sorry
Favourite outfit:
Blodreina’s cape thingy!
Tumblr media
Favourite item:
Raven’s necklace!!! I’m actually hoping to make myself one someday, it’s my favorite thing ^^
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?:
Nothing!
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?:
I wish I could be spacekru haha they’re the best found family of the whole show and we deserved a flashback episode for them <3
Most boring plotline:
the entirety of season 6 xDDDDD
No but seriously, I’m gona say Illian’s plot. Honestly I never got into it at all, I didn’t care enough about him, or his family.
Most laughably bad moment:
I mean, the pilot is pretty cringe-worthy xD
Best flashback/flashfoward if any:
the flashbacks of the Dark Year.
Most layered character:
Octavia
Most one dimensional character:
Jordan lmao I was so disappointed with his story in s6.....
Scariest moment:
OMG in season 2 when Bellamy, Octavia and the guards go into the old parking garage and CAROL OF THE BELLS START PLAYING THAT WAS SO FUCKING CREEPY
Grossest moment:
Ewwww the whole worm thing happening in s5, AND the weird trees growing inside people in s6 xD
Best looking male:
S5 Murphy, hands down. Also s7 Murphy cause he spends half his time shirtless lmao
Best looking female:
Emori! She’s so pretty.
Who you’re crushing on (if any):
I mean everybody is gorgeous but I don’t have a particular fixation haha
Favourite cast moment:
I don’t watch interviews or BTS stuff so I don’t know much, but Richard Harmon wearing hie sister’s costume and wig was really funny ^^
Favourite transportation:
Becca’s rocket
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise):
It’s very obvious symbolism, but I love the last shot of Blood must have blood part 1, with Clarke standing alone in front of the door of Mount Weather.
Also, Octavia forcing the clans into submission in Red Queen, the mini conclave in fron of the doors of the vafeteria. The shots in that scene were really good!
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you:
Lmaooooooo do you have ten hours? Because that’s how long I can ramblr about the inconsistencies and plotholtes of this show x) Off the top of my head:
- Why does everybody on the Ark speak Enlighs?
- If Becca knew Nightblood could let you live on Earth then why didn’t she distribute it among the space stations?
- Why did Cadogan build the bunker in the middle of the city when he had a prefectly good FOREST??
- If Lexa is the first Commander to unite the clans then what was the role of the Commander before her?
- Why didn’t the Ark send one adult with the 100 (Pyke) to protect and help them?
- How come the Eligius IV prisoners don’t die when they come back to Earth in s5 since they have no nightblood and didn’t adapt through evolution?
- How is it that Spacekru survived with algea alone but Wonkru had to have this huge variety of plants?? WHAT’S THE MAGIC ALGEA MONTY???
- Why did Mount Weather crash the Exodus ship?
- If the ressources on the Ark are so scarce then why would they float people with clothes on them?
- How come Raven could visit Finn in prison but Bellamy couldn’t visit Octavia?? If Octavia was in solitary, why?
...... Okay i’m gonna stop for now lmao but I could write an entire memoir on the inconsistencies of this show lmao
Best promo:
That one:
Tumblr media
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book:
I’m thinking Murphy’s Law? The first few episodes were a little too teenage-drama for me but this episode shifted my opinion enough to get me to keep watching ^^

topic...  (  my  portrayal  /  reasoning  of  raven’s  behavior  in  s6  /  s7  &&  some  things  i  would  like  to  be  done  better  );
season five
starting  off  at  the  end  of  s5,  raven  and  shaw  were  turned  in  to  mccreary’s  crew  by  clarke  and  they  were  tortured.   but  most  importantly  mccreary  was  threatening  to  cut  shaw’s  legs  off,  because  he  was  a  pilot  and didn’t  need  his  legs  to  fly,  in  front  of  raven   ( if  i  remember  correctly ).   that  was  very  hard  for  her  because while  shaw  may  have  not  been  a  person  she  loved,  she  had  started  to  care  about  him  and  now  they  were  threatening  him  with  something  that  raven  had  experienced.  she  knew  what  it  was  like  to  lose  the  mobility  of  your  legs  and  it  was  something  she  wouldn’t  let  happen  to  shaw.   so  by  the  end  of  s5,  raven  is  very  mad  at  clarke  for  turning  on  them  because  it  could  have  left  shaw  disabled.
season 6
going  over  to  s6  raven  wakes  up  to  see  a  goodbye  video  of  two  people  who  she  considers  family.  it  hits  her  hard,  to  lose  people  she  care  about  very  much.    but  at  the  same  time  she  saw  the  happy,  she  saw  them  in  peace.    i don’t  know  about  you,  but  spending  a  lifetime  with  someone  you  love  sounds  pretty  damn  good  to  me.     it does  seem  good  to  raven  and  maybe  this  time she’ll  get  it  until  they  get  to  sanctum  only  to  find  shaw  dead.   she  breaks  at  that,  more  than  she  shows.   raven  becomes  tired  of  all  the  torturing,  the  killing,  losing  people  she  cares  about  but  she  never  handles  her  emotions  well.
so  when  they  find  the  others,  she  does  what  she  does  best  when  she’s  hurt.   turn  her  emotions  to  anger  towards  clarke  for  turning  on  them  in  s5,  to  abby  for  hurting  her  and  for  hurting  herself  with  the  pills,  to  ryker  for  travelling  across  the  universe  only  to  find  another  planet  where  they  kill  innocent  people  to  survive.    jasper’s  and  later  monty’s  words  stick  to  her  by  that  point.   they’ve  both  been  her  friends  and  she  realizes  that  they’ve  been  right.   and  that   they  should  do  better.    everytime  you  do  something  bad,  you  say  you’re  sorry  and  then  you  do  it  again.    the  cycle  keeps  going  over  and  over  again  without  stopping ,  no  matter  where  they  are.
however,  she  doesn’t  express  that  in  the  same  way  that  monty  did ,   instead  she’s  more  judgmental  towards  others  in  her  attempt  to  make  them  do  better  resulting  in  having  a  rift  in  her  relationships  rather  than  advocating  for  them  to  do  better.   a  small  part  of  her  does  this  intentionally,  because  firstly  she  lost monty & harper and later shaw,  they  thought  clarke  died  and  eventually  towards  the  end  abby  died.   that’s  four  people  that  raven ( & others )  lost  and  she’s  putting  up  walls  again  and  pushing  them  away  because  she  can’t  handle  the  grief,  anymore.
jroth  moved  the  role  of  people  advocating / being  tired  of  the  violence  from  jasper  to  monty  to  raven,  which  could  have  been  done  some  much  better  if  after  raven  acted  like  this,  they  also  had  a  taken  her  in  the  direction  of  admiting  that  she’s  tired  of  losing  people  and  she  wants  this  violence  to  stop.  it  would  be  perfectly  understandable  in  s5  if  that  had  happened  with  raven  and  any  member  of  the  spacekru  /  or  even  abby  when  they  started  to  ment  their  relationship.   raven  is  a  great  choice  to  pass  this  trope  onto  for  the  later  seasons  because  firstly  she  had  spent  a  lot  of  time  with  jasper  during  s3/s4  when  he  was  tired  of  the  violence.   she  was  the  first  ( besides  monty )  to  be  with  jasper  while  he  grieved,  while  he  searched  for  something  more  than  violence  and  her  storyline  in  s6/s7  could  have  mirrored  that  ( esp  considering  raven  is  again  in  a place  of  grieving ).  also  with  monty  it  could  have  made  sense  on  the  matter  of  they  probably  spent  a  lot  of  time  together  in  the  ring  and  figuring  out  stuff  together.   she  could  have  definetely  kept  the  be  the  good  guys   part  of  his  goodbye  in  her  attempt  of  honoring  him.
note:  raven  ( like  the  rest  of  spacekru )  spent  6  years  in  peace  and  by  the  moment  she  went  aboard  the  eligius  ship  to  get  everyone  back  on  earth ,   she  got  tortured  multiple  times  in  that  season.   so  it’s  very  understandable  that  she  doesn’t  want  to  fight and  hurt  in  the  rest  seasons.
season seven
now  onto  s7,  they’re  in  a  place  were  peace  could  be  close  if  they  all  make  it  work.    raven  is  back  on  a  place  of  getting  things  done.  it’s  easy  and  she  knows  what  to  do.  but  the  reactor  suddenly  malfuctions  and  in  the  span  of  a day  she  has  to  make  a  decision  that  costs  four  innocent  lives.    up  until  that  point  she’s  done  questionable  things  but  she  hasn’t  killed  anyone  that  wasn’t  considered  their  enemy  and  threatened  her  life.    she  was  in  a  similar  spot  in  s4  were  she  denied  the  medicine  to  heal  the  radiation  poisoning  of  the  child  from  floukru  but  by  murphy  stealing  that  medicine,  it  confirmed  that  she  was  right.   whether  or  not  she’d  taken  the  medicine,  the  child  would  die.   now  hatch  and  his  people  were  killed  by  her.   the  reactor  would  have  killed  them  anyway  if  they  hand’t  fixed  it  but  as  she  said  in  the  last  episode,  she  could’ve  done  the  job  herself.   she  really  thought  in  the  beginning that  they’d  just  be  sick  for  a  few  days,  so  she  didn’t  risk  herself  and  decided  that  it  would  be  best  to  monitor  and  help  emori  from  the  chamber.  by  the  time  emori  had  gotten  back  and  she  could  do  fix the  pipes,  she  now  knew  that  going  in  would  be  a  suicide  mission.  raven  has  always  risked  her  life  to  save  others  but  she  never  had  a  death  wish  and  she  wanted  to  stay  alive.
that’s  what  completely  broke  her  in  s7.   she’s  wants  to  do  better  since  the  moment  they  stepped  on  sanctum.   it’s  why  she  makes  sure  jordan  undestands  that  her  killing  those  disciples  was  wrong.   he’s  the  new  blood  of  their  people  and  she  wants  him  to  learn  to  do  better  than  killing  the  enemy  and  that’s a  big  difference  from  raven  in s1-s5.   she  never  hesitated  to  harm  the  enemy  if  it  meant  saving  the  people  she  loves.   but  now  when  she  was  forced  even  in  relative  peace  to  kill  innocent  people,  she  breaks.   raven  didn’t  want  to  harm  hatch,  she  just  tried  to  protect  herself  and  she  hates  herself  for  that.   she  saw  herself  in  nikki  who  was  angry  and  hurt  and  attacked  raven  because  in  her  spot  she’d  have  done  the  same.   in  that  moment,  she  didn’t  realize  that  these  kind  of  decisions  are  hard,  she  didn’t  understand  clarke.   instead  she  realized  that  exactly  how  this  cycle  of  violence  is  so  fundamentally  wrong  and  saving  their  own  people  doesn’t  justify  it ,   because  the  people  they  kill  also  have  loved  ones.   and  the  cycle  keeps  going  and  hurting  more  and  more  people.  where  does  it  end ?
conclusion
what  i  really  want  to  see  is  exactly  this  notion  being  said  by  raven.   i  would  have  loved  for  raven  to  speak  more  about  it  instead  of  having  her  judge  everyone  in  season 6  although  she  had  her  reasons  and  it  was  her  defense  mechanism.   she  tried  with  murphy,  telling  him  to  chose  morality  over  immortality  and  it  was  a   good  start  but  then  they  had  her  focused  on  getting  shiedheda  out  of  madi  instead  of  speaking  about  it.   i  think  the  biggest  problem  is  that  t100  has  too  many  storylines  going  on  and  in  result  with  the  limited  screentime  they  are  half  done.   instead  raven’s  storyline  would  have  made  more  sense  if  she  had  time  to  speak  with  more  people  about  this.   instead  she  spent  more  time  with  ryker  for  no  reason  instead  of  being  a  part  of  the  rest,  and  speaking  with  bellamy,  for  example,  about  it  who  also  wanted  to  do  better  here.  another  thing  is  that  they  keep  isolating  characters  with  the  different  storylines  and  it  doesn’t  help.   but  generally  i  think  that  raven  should  have  approached  this  storyline   in  her  own  way.   she  has  lost  so  many  people  throughout  the  series  and  she  can  speak  about  wanting  that  to  stop.   everyone  would  understand  why  raven  is  tired  of  them  losing  people  or  hurting  people  because  she  knows  first  hand  how  it’s  like  to  lose  those  close  to  you.   this  way  it  would  have  mirrored  jasper’s  storyline  but  still  be  a  bit  differently  because  jasper  was  tired  of  fighting  /  of  hurting  in  general  while  raven  doesn’t  want  to  give  up  she  just  wants  them  to  do  better.   and  it  would  have  been  different  from  monty  who  found  peace  in  harper  and  wanted  them  to  live  a  better  life  together  and  raise  their  family  in  a  better  world.    raven  doesn’t  have  that  stability  but  she  wants  to  be  able  to  find  it ,   to  live  in  peace  for  once  in  her  life,   and  because  that  has  elements  from  both  jasper  and  monty  could  have  made  this  storyline  so  much  better  and  so  much  more  interesting.

question: how sexist do you think the show is? I used to think it used to be the height of feminism (I was a dumbass) but I want your opinion on what it does wrong, etc because as time goes on the way the narrative treats female characters is disturbing to say the least, at least to me
Be kind to yourself, anon - at one point, I do think this show was pretty good in terms of representing women in a diverse, positive way. While not “the height of feminism” (which is a tricky thing to pin down anyway,) the early seasons featured a range of women of all ages, abilities, races, and most sexual orientations.
Back in 2014, when it premiered, I think it was actually doing pretty good work at not only featuring these female characters, but making sure that their storylines included agency and motivations that went beyond what the men in their lives wanted/needed.
But the show has slipped a lot since then. Not only have our standards lifted, but the writing itself has taken a serious dive, and season six was the lowest point so far, for me. If we look at the way the female characters’ motivations have changed from season to season, it’s clear that, at some point, the writers kind of forgot that these women have agency and conflicting motivations, and don’t just exist to prop up the missions of the men or children in their lives.
In s1 and s2, Clarke was all about making firm choices and sticking with them. She was motivated by the safety of her friends and the rest of The Hundred, and a general impulse to “do the right thing.” No one single person or role compelled her - she was flexible and realistically able to fit into leadership positions, rebellion stoking, and squad commander. Although she was backed into a corner, it still felt as though her choices were hers.
In s5 and s6, Clarke is a “mama bear” driven into a illogical frenzy at the thought of her adoptive daughter being put into any sort of danger whatsoever, despite that being a reality of the world when one actually has to interact with people. Her decisiveness becomes impulsiveness, and her motivations are drained of all their complexity. It just becomes “Madi, Madi, Madi,” with no room for anyone else, and even less room for flexibility. She’s one-note, now. By giving her exactly one motivation in her life, one singular person to focus all of her affection and need to protect on, she’s been stripped of all of her complexity and agency. This is made even worse by the fact that she spent half the season on ice, essentially dead to the world, while her body was inhabited by the most charming lil sociopath this show has ever seen - one Josephine Lightbourne. A character who should have been a refreshing return to that kind of complexity, but falls flat for her own reasons.
In s6 we’re introduced to one of the most interesting characters in The 100 universe. A cunning, cutthroat, cold young woman with a cheery disposition and enough cleverness to kill a cat with a smile. Josie has been alive, on some level, for hundreds of years. She’s seen untold violence, and has become a greedy, selfish, cruel woman because of it. You would think that this kind of person’s return to life in this universe would’ve been earth-shattering - that she would’ve had some sort of epic, evil plan, motivated by the need to grab more and more power for herself. But what did Josie really, truly want in the end, more than anything? To reunite with her ex-boyfriend and body-snatch until the end of time, so she could stay with him, forever and ever. She was motivated, at the end of the day, purely by her romantic feelings for a man.
That’s disappointing to me. Especially because, in the latter half of the series, everyone’s motivations, but especially the women’s, end up coming down to one person - a person who is dependant on them for affection/comfort/softness/love, etc. Basically, everyone has now been hamstrung by their inability to focus on anything other than one person. And for each of the women, that’s often meant taking on the role of supportive girlfriend/mother, rather than having agency and goals of her own.
Other examples - Emori was a background character for most of season six, basically Harper Mcintyre’d, right up until her necessary betrayal of Josephine and Murphy becomes relevant to the plot. Echo was sidelined by her longterm romantic partner, ending up in serious danger, while he gallivanted off making googly eyes at his (old??) best friend, and this was treated as perfectly acceptable. Raven has been reduced to nagging shrew, and was also more or less set dressing until she become plot relevant to Madi’s story. Madi herself was the literal meat puppet of a creepy dude controlling her brain. Abby lived just long enough to make a meaningful sacrifice as a grandmother and then died. And so on.
I think that, as the series went on, and more and more characters and set dressings and crazy scenarios were added, the writers had to simplify character motivations and story arcs. If you just compare everything Raven went through and had to do in s2 (losing use of her leg; learning to use a brace; her romance with Wick; cracking the Mt Weather radios; figuring out how to stop the acid fog; watching her first love die; dealing with her grief; getting seriously wounded again at the end of the season, etc,) with what she had to do in s6 (work on a motorcycle; chastise Ryker for being a body-snatcher; watch Abby die; save Madi from Sheidheda) - it’s clear that the writers have shelved certain characters for the sake of others.
And what ate up the most time this season? The story of the Lightbournes, which is ultimately, yet again, a story about how a small group of people are solely motivated by protecting only each other, even if at the cost of everyone else. Specifically, Josephine is motivated by wanting to protect Gabriel from death forever, and her parents (particularly Russell) are motivated by making her happy, whatever the cost.
A cautionary tale for our OG heroes? Maybe, but it sure didn’t feel that way during the season.
The weird flipside of this is the way Bellamy and Russell existed purely for women in this season. Bellamy wanted nothing but to save Clarke, Russell wanted nothing but to save Josephine. But the difference is that, even within their singularly-focused motivations, Bellamy and Russell still had agency, and they both ended up making more decisions for the women in their lives than those women made for themselves. They moved the plot around the women, who simply had no choice but to react accordingly.
I think the show is trying to not be sexist, but in its current bloated state, it’s gotten really lazy, and the writers have lost sight of the complexity and characterization that made s1-s3 more impactful. I think JRoth and Co are probably bored with this universe - that’s why s6 was such an insane leap in tone, setting, and world-building.
And I think, like most human beings, they’ve allowed themselves to get comfortable with what they’ve already achieved. Unfortunately, the “good representation” aspect of this show has suffered a lot for it.
The short answer is: on a “how sexist” scale from 1-10, with 1 being “super sexist” and 10 being “not sexist at all” - we started at an 8, now we’re at about a 4. The show has done better. It will probably never do better again.

Hey Rosy! Have you heard Marie’s comments about s7 at Dutch Comicon? She said Octavia “finds her peace in a place you’ve never seen her before.” And “you guys are going to see a bunch of different planets.” She also said “I can’t tell you who’s where or what’s what or where’s where, but it’s ugly and it’s crazy because it’s the 100 and no one ever smiles. There’s challenges and there’s wars and there’s stuff. Different circumstances this year.” What do you think is going to happen in s7’s plot?
It’s hard to guess what will happen in the plot because they like their plot twists, so the only thing I can do is think about the storylines that are still open, the narratives that are already being told and need to be finished, and the clues they’ve been dropping.
Becuse, this is, like, the LAST season, so they need to wrap up the storylines they’ve left open. It’s kind of a big challenge because they’ve been working on a LOT of long term storylines, so if they manage to get them all wrapped up next season I will be VERY impressed. I don’t think most tv shows DO manage to tie up all the loose ends. Most shows just kind of drop them over the years? Or don’t present them at all. So let’s see. I think they’re going to do it because they’ve started to resolve things I thought they had dropped.
Bellarke is going to get together romantically. It’s a big narrative, and has been relentlessly getting closer and closer. I know people call me delusional or a clown for still seeing it, but if they weren’t still moving it forward, I’d say they weren’t. They ARE. Season 6 leaves it clear without a doubt. No they don’t go quickly. That’s the way they’re telling it. And that is okay, even if it frustrates the impatient. BUT one of the requirements, every season of The 100, is that Clarke and Bellamy come together in order to reach victory, and every season, what brings them together is a deepening level of love. Actually it’s the most easily predicted outcome for any long term narrative. The others are less certain.
For Clarke herself, she’s been through the ringer. She started out the golden girl, the heroine who was idealistic and determined and full of love for humanity and her people, and as time went on, we found out she was ruthless, sneaky, and determined, and you really wanted her on your side. HOWEVER her heart was broken many times over, she was terribly betrayed, she bore the burden of terrible acts, she lost her belief in humanity and in herself and that there even WAS a right choice or a good guy. But in the last season, she’s recovered some of her belief in humanity, mostly through Bellamy, actually, and has come to learn that love is a strength, not a weakness, so I expect to see her fully coming into her heroic powers as she saves and redeems humanity in season 7.
For Bellamy, he started out at the bottom of the hero pile, being an actual villain in season 1a, and rising, expanding the circle of who he would protect out from Octavia, to his delinquents, to arkers to all of humanity. I believe Bellamy actually completed his hero’s journey in season 5, when he came back from space and did the right thing, saving everyone, spacekru, wonkru, eligius, and thus restoring Clarke’s faith in humanity because HE was good. Right? So that meant for him s6 and 7 need to have a different story, and I speculate that Bellamy has moved on to fulfill his archetypal character trait of “The Heart.” I think the end of the 100 for Bellamy is going to be a romance. He needs to search out that good life lived in love. And we saw it in season 6, as his goal, what/who he needed to save was his soulmate. And it was a dedicated mission that had ONLY Bellamy doing the saving and he used HIS HEART to save her. No guns. No diplomacy. No wars. No distractions. No make it go boom. No delinquents. JUST bellamy, and his hands and heart, because he needed her and couldn’t lose her. See? Bellamy was already the epic hero, now he’s the romantic hero. So that brings me back to Bellarke, because that means getting CLARKE is his goal now for s7. That’s his story. Because in romance stories, the goal is the romance. Clarke’s story may still be to save humanity, but I’m guessing that this is part of the overall story. Clarke saves humanity, Bellamy saves Clarke. Just like Bellamy inspires the masses but Clarke inspires Bellamy. See they trade off who supports whom, and that’s why they are the best.
Octavia will be redeemed. She has to be, because she’s symbolic of humanity itself. That she became evil for a while also fits because humanity is what destroyed the earth. I do not think that JR is writing a grimdark show that says humanity is evil at its root though, because the redemption of Octavia is happening. That was in doubt for me for a while. I thought they’d switched the humanity symbolism to Madi maybe? Or were cheaping out on a martyr sacrifice instead of real redemption. Not after they took away her martyrdom, though. ALSO a slow narrative. It seems like a war is brewing with whoever is in the anomaly, and she may use her warrior skills...BUT it might be important that she DOESN’T??? not sure. She might actually need to use them to better the world. This story DOESN’T say that violence is always the wrong choice, so being peaceful MIGHT not be the answer. Being peaceful has sometimes been the wrong choice in this show. But also, just because you HAVE the power to kill people doesn’t mean you should. So I’m not sure HOW she’s going to manage saving people. But she’s going to care about THEM, not her own power.
Raven will find a way to save everyone with technology. We’ve been talking a bit about her roll on my blog, and it’s highly likely that she might redeem BECCA, as a mirror of Becca’s tech destroying the world and leading to all of this, Raven has learned that it’s not jus getting to the goal that matters, but also HOW you get there. She’s learned ethics and morals. So if Octavia serves as a kind of symbolic salvation of humanity, Raven might be the redemption of technology, cleverness and advancement, as we see her no longer making it go boom, but rather unlocking secrets or creating tools or defense or who knows what? Not sure how this is going to work out. I also think that Raven and Clarke will reconcile, again, not sure how it’s going to work out because I thought it was going to happen through a spacekru story but Raven’s reckoning came through Abby instead, and therefore a kind of symbolic siblinghood with Clarke. I don’t think spacekru will be against Clarke anylonger though, because she was the last holdout and a lot of it was personal issues which she worked through with Abby.
Murphy... now Murphy is a question. We were talking and thinking that maybe HIS growth might be SPIRITUAL in direction. Which would be quite a twist for that s1 villain. But it might be true that he always wanted to be a part of something bigger, he always wanted to belong, to be loved, he also, until s6, was actually able to understand morality the most clearly of anyone, even if he chose to be bad sometimes. Then he had his spiritual reckoning when he died and thought he was going to hell... so we’ve got these questions coming up for him. Now he’s “immortal” and I hear tell that in s7 he’ll be living in the castle and that some of the sanctumites might still worship him. So that’s interesting. If his journey on the show has been a spiritual one, and now he’s being worshipped... he might decide to scam them be, well, leading them as “a god.” Of a type. Which might actually help to settle everything in the village. Oh, yeah. This is an interesting concept. I’ve actually had a long term theory that the 100 is actually a kind of origin story of the “gods” who redeemed humanity. And if we consider that Murphy is (for now) immortal, and he’s such a scammer, and he’s been a witness to Clarke and Bellamy from the beginning...oh holy heck, what if MURPHY is really the narrator of this tale? Oh holy heck. Murphy has taken part in all the storylines except for Mount Weather and Pike. AND he played the role of fleimkepa for a while. Holy Heck. Murphy as religious leader. Possibly god. Religion founder? s1 no god. s2. searching for god (literally on a quest for the city of light.) s3. fake(?) prophet/priest. s4. clarke’s morality (while you were saving them I was saving you,) and his own. s5. needs to be a hero/to be good/sacrifices himself. s6. dies/goes to hell/becomes immortal.  s7. holy heck murphy’s found god??? is god??? leads the people to god???
Echo. Echo is Ash. This is important. She also needs to be her own person, who she is. She can’t be the good spy anymore. This is a plot point, not my wishful bellarke thinking. Echo’s story is about independence and identity and finding herself again. This is not a romance story. This is a feminist story of breaking free of the dictates of the past and choosing her own path. She needs to stand on her own two feet and not follow her leader anymore, who is now Bellamy, her boyfriend. Having your boyfriend be your king is already a suspicious dynamic. Ditch him, Echo. First off, you can make your own decisions. Secondly, you need someone you can share your soul with and for some reason it’s not him. (oh right because he’s already given it away and she’s standing right there.) Thirdly, you need to figure out who you are.  I think Echo needs to make a choice for herself and it might not be the choice that Bellamy makes. Last season I said she’d choose to stand with the slaves of sanctum over her own people. This might be how it works out in the end, but it would look different because they’ll integrate at least some of the sanctumites into their people. IDK we’ll see.
Madi. IDK. I think that’s part of her story. What is her role now that she’s no longer heda? Child? She’s not just a simple child either.
Emori. Mostly Murphy’s storyline. She steadies him and gives him love. His early redemption started with “I don’t want to die alone.” and she gives him that. (Oh no. What if that means they are going to die... but not alone, together. a possibility.)
Jordan. Not actually my favorite character, but he’s a main, so that says his role will be bigger next season. He’s been brainwashed. So we’ll either have to get him out of it, or he’ll end up being kind of a villain. :(
Biggest mystery. The anomaly, Hope, Diyoza.
The anomaly is a gateway. It leads us to multiple planets. We already knew about those planets, so that makes sense. There are five, I think, of which Alpha is the first. There’s a guy there who made Hope bring Octavia back? Hope is a grown up now but Octavia is still her own age. The anomaly not only messes with space but also with time. I have not given up on our heroes going back in time and back to earth (they have been filming in and around a yellow farmhouse which I have speculated might be Diyoza’s father’s farmhouse where she went to hide from being captured but eventually WAS found in.)
We also know there will be upheaval in Sanctum, not all of the sancumites accepting what happened, Jordan being brainwashed and Murphy and Emori being worshipped as gods. lol. Wonkru is awake unless they put them back to bed and we have some Eligius prisoners awake because we saw the casting. Why wake them? Marie said a war. Are they going to war against whoever stole Octavia? They need them for a war.
I still think it’s about the redemption and salvation of humanity and maybe making up for destroying the earth, either by fixing what they did on earth, or creating a new, non toxic society in the colonies. I am not keen on colonies being the answer, because I think that’s not the answer to redeeming humanity for what they did to earth, but I also wonder if our delinquents might separate and choose different paths. Maybe some go back to earth. 200 years later it might be habitable again. I could see most of the delinquents going to different planets but Clarke and Bellamy going back to earth to see if they can fix it and living in peace, their own adam and eve. It’s a theme we’ve seen used before so it could happen. Also it would give them a The 100 style happy ending like Marper got. idk. I predicted marper’s ending as a possible bellarke ending a while ago... in other words, got the right story but the wrong couple. but marper is a mirror of bellarke so it could still happen.
I have a hard time saying what the plot of s7 will be. They’ve given us less than they ever have before. I got quite a bit from s5 hiatus, and I’m actually still going on things we found out then. I feel like it’s all one story, not two separate stories each season.

The 100 Ask Game
okay, I was searching through @dylanobrienisbatman’s echo tag for some head canons awhile back and stumbled upon this! I’ve tweaked it a little and added some things from S5 and omg this is so fun! thanks to whoever made this ask game! S6 STARTS TONIGHT!
1. What Station on the Ark would you be from?
Farm Station. I grew up in the south and my great/grandparents all owned farms so yeah, probably Farm Station.
2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark?
I think this happened to a character in the book...I would probably get locked up for getting pregnant as a teen! lol
3. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground?
If Bellamy Blake asked me to, you bet I would.
4. What would the necklace Finn would make for you look like? (Clarke: deer/Raven: a raven duh..)
an eagle 🦅
5. If you could resurrect any MINOR character who would it be?
WELLS DESERVED BETTER JAHA
6. Create a squad of 5 characters to go on missions with. Who are they?
The Leaders: Bellamy Blake & Clarke Griffin
The Brains: Raven Reyes & Monty Green
The Muscle : Lincoln kom Trikru
7. What Grounder Clan would you belong to you?
Geographically, I would probably reside in Trikru somewhere. But I really want to live in Shallow Valley. I wish we had seen more of that clan!
8. What would your name be in Trigedasleng? (example: Octavia=Okteivia…just make it up!)
sara - sera ? I don’t know. lol
9. Thoughts on Finn? Some people hate him, and others love him, so I’m curious
He was okay in the beginning. I was pissed when I found out he had a girlfriend in space and was trying to get with Clarke on the ground. I did not like him at all in S2! The guy really lost it in the end.
10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does?
I would have been able to resist in the beginning. Maybe took a step back to watch others take it first. But peer pressure, man. I would have given in eventually.
11. What character do you relate to most?
Clarke Griffin. She’s been isolated a lot and that’s something I relate to. And her Mama Bear instincts.
12. What character do you like the least?
S1- Finn, S2- Cage Wallace, S3- Pike, S4- Echo, S5- Kara Cooper
13. Describe your delinquent outfit. (Would you wear something like Murphy’s jacket with the spikey red shoulder patch or have a trademark like Jasper’s goggles? Be creative, yet practical)
Clarke’s soda tab jacket or Raven’s red bomber jacket!
14. Favorite type of mutant animal?
The blue butterflies! 🦋
15. What would your job be on the Ark?
A teacher! Teaching Earth History! Oh, that sounds amazing.
16. Would you have willingly pumped Ontari’s heart if Abby asked?
Barf.
17. If Lexa wasn’t Heda, but she was still alive then who would have made the best commander?
Luna. Is there any other answer but Luna?
Nightblood aside, I think Octavia (with Lincoln still alive to influence her) would be a cool choice too.
18. How would you act if you ate the hallucinogenic nuts like Jasper and Monty?
Paranoid af.
19. How would you have dealt with Charlotte’s crime? A more John Murphy approach or Bellamy Blake approach?
Bellamy Blake approach.
20. Who should have been the Chancellor, if anyone?
I don’t care who is the Chancellor, but Clarke Griffin is in charge. lol. Kane was the best leader for Skaikru on the ground.
21. Would you have been on Pike’s side like Bellamy or on Kane’s side? Or Clarke in Polis?
Kane’s side! Viva la revolución!
22. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s Ipod) What is the one thing you would snatch while there?
Chocolate. All the chocolate!
23. What would your Grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint?
Tattoos: let me get that eagle across my back or on my sternum that I’ve always wanted
Hairstyle: the most epic Harper style braid please
War paint: no thanks
24. Favorite quote?
”In peace, may you leave this shore.
In love, may you find the next.
Safe passage on your travels,
until our final journey to the ground.
May we meet again.”
-The Traveler’s Blessing
Or literally anything Bellamy Blake says. lol
25. If all of the characters were in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning?
I feel like as unlikely as it is, the show really has Octavia set up as Warrior Princess Goddess Hero and she would win. lol. As far as forming alliances and making it to the end...Clarke Griffin could make it with Bellamy Blake by her side throwing back nighlock berries till the end.
26. Least favorite ship? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non canon ship? NOT INCLUDING CL OR BC OR BE
Least: Mackson
Favorite canon: Zaven
Favorite non-canon: Sea Mechanic
27. A song that should be included in the next season? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo?
Radioactive needs to make another appearance in S6
Musical Guest Star: how about Hozier?
28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time?
We’d probably go crazy.
29. Your an extra that gets killed off. How do you die?
Bellamy Blake choking me to death... (can’t believe this took me so long to answer. Is there really any other answer from me?)
30. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of?
I would have liked more flashbacks of Roan and Luna and Lincoln. Spacekru on the Ring. Emori? Harper? literally everyone, right?
31. A character you’d bang?
Bellamy Blake. All day. Every day.
32. Would you stay in the Bunker? Go up to Space? Or live on your own in Eden?
SPACE!
33. In the Bunker, would you follow Octavia? What would you do to pass the time underground?
Sure. I don’t think I’d have much of a choice. I’d probably help take care of all the little kids!
34. What crime would you commit in the Bunker that lands you in the fighting pits?
Okay, so the way my life works I would probably get pregnant...again. And steal some blankets or something that I needed for all my kids. I’m not even going to front and say I survive that fighting pit sooo hope Blodreina trains them little squirts well!
35. Up in Space, who would you bond with first? Who would be the most difficult for you to get along with?
I’m instantly bonding with Harper. She’s the sweetest.
I’m going to be a little leary of Bellamy Blake during his Clarke ‘I left her behind’ Griffin Depression hour. So he’s probably really mopey and moody. And let’s just avoid him for a while.
36. How long do you think you would last on Earth by yourself?
Two weeks? I’d probably starve to death.
37. When the Eligius ship lands what do you do?
HIDE! And then spy on them. Figure out who they are and if they’re friendly. Go to them for help if they are. Take them all out in their sleep if they’re not.
38. Favorite Eligius character? Least favorite?
Miles Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Shaw!
That creepy Kodiak guy.
39. Would you Spacewalk?
Hell yes!
40. Would you prefer to eat Windshield Bugs, Space Algae, or Bunker Meat?
Bugs, definitely bugs.
41. Would you start a war for the last spot of green on earth? What would your solution be to avoid it?
I’d fight for it.
42. Would you rather dig out flesh-eating worms or stick thumb drives into bullet holes?
BAND-AIDS DON’T FIX BULLET HOLES — AND NEITHER DO THUMB DRIVES. That was such a clever move. I’m going with thumb drives over worms. I hate the worm scene. gross!
43. Are you willing to poison your sister for the Traitor Who You Love? What would you do to stop Octavia?
I’m not a big fan of my sister, so yes. Was there any easier way to stop Octavia? I mean, Clarke wanted to kill her. They wanted to protect Madi. As much as that scene pained me I think Bellamy did the right thing soooo I would poison her.
44. Would you go to sleep in cryo or stay awake like Marper?
Stay asleep. Unless I’m living my entire life with Bellamy Blake by my side I dont want it.
45. Who are you waking up first to explore the new planet?
JR isn’t going to give it to us so I’m waking up Octavia so her and Jordan can have a First One on the Ground Pilot parallel!
you may have already done this so I’m sorry! But the bottom questions are new!

The 100: season 7 is the end
I can’t say its fully sunk in that The 100 is ending next year but I wanna get this out before the S6 finale because things are gonna happen, characters may die and that will affect the objectivity/focus of this post lol.
I love this show so much. Like it is currently my favourite show airing and has been for the past five years. I fell in love with the world of The 100 and the characters, bought and read Kass’ books to get a further look at them and I was hooked. I don’t want it to end. So badly. I think we all had a feeling it was coming to a close maybe with the new planet or the directions things were going this season I know a lot of us felt it may be ending and were so happy to hear it got renewed for season seven.
I personally am someone who has been worried about The 100 getting renewed year after year as our ratings obviously aren’t the best but honestly not the worst of the currently being aired shows on the CW. So from S3 to S4 to S5 I’ve been watching the ratings, being worried, tweeting HASHTAG RENEW THE 100 and rejoicing every time it got renewed. This year especially seeing it get renewed for season seven I am so happy, but seeing this news is obviously bittersweet. Many people are saying its a good thing you know “end it whilst its still amazing” or “don’t let it go on for too long”, I don’t agree because quite frankly I love it so much I could watch 10 more seasons of the characters doing absolutely nothing and just living and being happy. But its not up to me and I’m not mad about it, I do understand, I am just sad.
I can say that at least I’m glad they told us a year in advance so we can prepare our emotions and hopefully have the confidence that they will end the show right. Complaints that many of the fandom had about season five have been well addressed in season six like the lack of meaningful conversations for one they finally allowed the characters to speak to each other so this hopefully means they’re going in the right direction. I hope this continues into season seven as they now know its the final one I hope they continue to take the fandoms advice that Yes, this show is chaotic but it doesn’t always have to be massacre BOOM fight for your life to be interesting. At this point, those of us who are still watching are watching because we love these characters and this world and they are all we need.
Getting to the characters, I sincerely hope that the writers do them all justice by the end of season seven. Now I have to say I am more biased towards the characters that have been on the 100 since season one and are still alive AKA Clarke, Bellamy, Raven, Miller, Jackson, Octavia, Murphy. Mainly because tbh if they have made it this far and are still alive they deserve happy endings, please. In last weeks episode (6x12) Abby was killed, can she be the last initial character to die, I want everyone else to live and see this through to the end.
I can’t predict anything especially with the season six finale airing tomorrow and me watching it on Wednesday morning I don’t know whats going to happen in season seven. If you follow me you know I adore Bellarke and have for the past five years and for all the posts I have written on here I really hope they will be endgame. Also I just want Madi to be a happy child with her mother Clarke in the end. I could go on about all the characters but generally I just want them to be happy, to not suffer for once and to be at peace.
I just can’t imagine this fandom not being active anymore or posting new screenshots from new episodes its going to be so strange after it ends. Especially looking back our The 100 fandom has been through so much since the beginning and had so many ups and downs. If you’ve been here from season one to now without stopping and seen everything like me I applaud you for sticking it out and staying with our show 🥺. I can say that S1-2 the fandom was probably the best the only thing was bellarke vs flarke lmao which looking back was hardly anything. From S3 the experience in the fandom was horrid I can truly say. The constant fighting and negativity made it not a fun place to be I think I posted a lot less and at the end of the season with people purposely trying to get the show cancelled fuck I don’t even want to remember how hard that was. Even now years later I am seeing bitter haters rejoicing with their ‘the evil is defeated’ memes but they can catch that quick block button. The show may have stopped getting some support but it still went on into one of the best seasons S4 and then through S5 and now we are all somewhat united in our love for this show. If you’re still watching you love this show, don’t try to deny it.
I still can’t believe its actually ending next year oh my gosh. Whilst I can say I knew it was coming from some degree, I’m still devastated to hear its really coming to an end. Especially because at the end of season five it said ‘End of Book One’ which made me naively believe that we would get up to Season 10 for ‘Book Two’ but nah only two seasons. Also, I suppose it was inevitable as the CW is ending many of their older shows like Supernatural and Arrow and one look on wikipedia shows that The 100 would then be the oldest airing show on the channel so it would be the next to end.
I basically just went back through my tumblr as I have majority of my posts from episode 1x07 and onwards tagged so I can read what I thought of the episodes at the time. Ah nostalgia. Ah naivety. Ah I’m going to miss The 100 so much. Writers please do me well, do us well. I hope they give the characters the happiness they deserve. Season six finale episode in two days, a year wait probably for season seven, lets spend the time well by appreciating this show.

September 2: Thoughts on The 100 2x05, Human Trials
Thoughts on Human Trials
They set up an electronic gate really fast, didn’t they? An efficient people. I think of the big Arkadia wall as really being a S3 thing, but they had to specifically unlock the entrance to get Clarke in.
Clarke & Abby was another relationship they really destroyed, huh? “That’s not a prisoner. That’s my daughter.”
Omg, Clarke thought Abby was dead this whole time. I completely forgot about that. I mean, I remember that she saw the Exodus ship explode, but I forgot that she had no way of knowing up until now that Abby wasn’t on it. Technically, Abby should have been a bit of a surprise to Bellamy and Finn, too, but I guess they had bigger surprises to deal with at the time.
I kind of miss Byrne tbh.
Six people made it to Camp Jaha. That’s Bellamy, Finn, Monroe, Sterling (RIP), Raven, and I guess Murphy is the last one, although as far as I can remember, the last Clarke saw him he was blasting a hole in the dropship and running away into the woods. So she probably wouldn’t guess he was one.
Jasper looking for Clarke 3-4 times a day in medical just tears me up inside. He’s so loyal. He feels all emotions on such a large scale. And his disbelief that Clarke would abandon them.... Who was it who theorized that Jasper was more upset about Clarke abandoning them in Mount Weather than abandoning them in 2x16 because I’ve never been certain I agree but I am intrigued.
Raymond J. Berry is so underrated.
I tend to think that Dante is sincere in offering Jasper the chance to leave and come back but I also think that this is a perhaps unintentionally cruel test because of all of the 48, Jasper is the one for whom it would be hardest to step back outside the bunker even on a mission of great personal importance.
“I have to believe they didn’t survive here all this time by fighting.” But like, actually.... didn’t they? RIP to my mom’s theory that ALIE kept the Grounders in a constant state of war to discourage population growth.
“In Grounder Creole.” I mean I guess that’s one word for it.
Clarke’s incredulousness that her mother is Chancellor is semi-hllarious.
She keeps on mentioning Finn and Bellamy as the most important people--were they among the six who made it? Where are they?
And yet RAVEN was the one who was waiting outside for her all night. Outside that shitty little medical tent. With her little tablet, reading. RIP Princess Mechanic.
Too bad Clarke put on pants before The Hug or think how much better it could have been lol.
I could watch them hug all day. Just this scene man. The best. I’m such a simple person. This is all I want. People smiling and being fond of each other.
Bellamy’s face when Clarke says she’s the only one who came back.
That Mount Weather/Reaper stuff is fully fucked up and I don’t think the show ever did anything more outrageous than this season. Which is why it should have stepped back from trying to be outrageous.
I really like scenes like this one with Bellarke and Abby, the tension in the power structure being so uncertain. Kane is the Chancellor, but Abby is also, and there are multiple groups of people out there with different levels of information, working toward different ends, and different ideas about who should be prioritized, and why, and Bellamy and Clarke are used to having the power to make those decision but now they don’t--just the intricacy of the plot at this point in the narrative. I love it. I love power dynamics and stuff like that. Also, while I get why Abby doesn’t want Clarke to leave, Bellamy is 100% right that she owes aid to Murphy and Finn, and Clarke is 100% right that, tactically speaking, cutting them loose is dumb, because they could easily create problems with the Grounders--which, in fact, they do.
Clarke’s “We’re gonna need guns” is so hot.
Adventure Squad to the rescue!
Electric fence. And Wick helping them out. I love Octavia actually looks younger than them here even though objectively speaking Marie is not. ALSO the massacre happens at Lincoln’s village but isn’t he from TonDC, which also had that bomb drop on it? Or am I confusing things? Because if so, damn, that’s a lot of bad luck lol.
So Monty would have left immediately to go after Clarke and Jasper wouldn’t--in part because he’s afraid but I also think he does feel betrayed that she left them, which Monty really doesn’t seem to care about. Interesting. And then of course the containment breach, organized to distract them and keep them from leaving. Not sure how to fully unpack that. I will note that Monty sees Maya being irradiated, which is to say that when he opens the vents in 2x16, he knows what that will do, down to the details, what it looks like, everything, and Jasper does too. Also interesting that Maya doesn’t want Jasper to leave, thinks it’s “smart” to stay. Because she doesn’t like Clarke? Because she fears the outsiders? Yet isn’t the greatest wish of her people to see the ground?
Also looks like they’re already prisoners given that you need a keycard to get out of the dorms.
I find it intensely suspicious that the Grounder blood didn’t work on Maya, since I’m sure they’ve seen radiation that bad before--the guy Clarke saw was pretty well covered if I remember correctly. I think they just weren’t doing anything, to try to get Jasper to volunteer as a subject. But is this done with or without Dante’s knowledge? I am going to say without personally.
“I know that look.” Monty knows Jasper’s ‘I’m gonna do something stupid’ look lol. Also, he is brave! He is!!
Bellamy looking at Clarke by the fire is so capital-R Romantic. They’re so efficient at comforting each other that he literally does the entire conversation re: guilt over closing the dropship door on him by himself. Don’t worry babe, I got this forgiveness narrative down.
Finn... is such a weird character. I don’t actually dislike his arc but it’s so hard to tell, for example, how smart he is, the details of him. He’s certainly very weak. Cracks under pressure, loses whatever moral compass he had at the first convenience. And what of Murphy? He’s uncomfortable with what is happening but for whatever reason seems to find himself unable to stop Finn even as he inches closer and closer to something terrible.
Is their leader... Indra?
Jasper’s “heavily sedated” face and Monty’s reaction lol. “Nothing, I feel nice.” And Monty’s eye roll. Bitch why are you so judgemental? Like you haven’t heavily sedated yourself for fun. And the classic ‘no, not going anywhere’ Monty gesture. Truly an Icon.
Ooh, I like this little outdoor cafeteria/bar. Forgot about that. Forgot about how much in S2 was outdoors or in tents.
I remember when Doctor Mechanic was a significant rare pair/side ship and you know what, I rather miss it. I was never really on board but I can see the appeal.
Minus the slapping, obviously. Which doesn’t even really fit in this scene imo.
“She stopped being a kid the day you sent her down here to die” is of course an iconic line but tbh it’s not really fair. More fair since Abby just slapped her but like--it’s a little late to be pulling that card. If they’d stayed on the Ark, more of them would have died than died in S1 on the ground, imo. And at this point that’s basically already known.
I wonder what all the ‘warning radiation area’ signs are from. Was there a post-bomb period where survivors lived on the ground and divided the worst radiation sites from the more habitable areas? Also the “no weapons beyond this point” sign clearly pre-dates the Grounders. And it’s in English.
Kane’s optimism/pacifism is really halfway and to that extent, what does he expect. Also is there prison a subway station? What a ridiculous but great way to bring Kane and Jaha back together again.
Yet again floored by this set design at the Grounder village.
Tbh I find it highly unrealistic that that amount of forest could have grown up on the National Mall in 100 years. And where are the other monuments?
Bellamy’s handdddddddddddddddddds.
Or maybe they just made Maya extra sick. So the treatment of circulating her blood through Jasper’s system is the same one they use with the Grounders, so it isn’t so much taking Grounder blood, as I tended to think of it, as using the Grounder circulatory system. But obviously this can be done without kiillng the person--so do they just use each body repeatedly until it... dies? I realize trying to find order in this is futile but I’m curious anyway.
“We all have jobs to do. Mine is to be obeyed” should have gone down in the canon of great lines. It’s certainly much better than some others I can think of.
I don’t believe Dante took the kids to experiment on them, what with his intense aversion to the experiments, and the way he gets attached first to Clarke and then to Jasper. But then, truly, as Tsing says, why take them? What was the endgame here?
“We have no choice but to move ahead with the 47″ is truly one of the weakest forms of ‘no choice’ on this show. Because, I mean, you do have a choice. You’ve discovered that they’re useful to you, but that doesn’t mean you HAVE to do the useful but completely immoral thing, that’s quite an obvious example of wanting, not needing.
No one can convince me that Dante is straight with scarves like that.
So in other words, Delano, of one-eyed Delano fame, was like the Murphy of TonDC. Don’t cast people out, nothing good comes of exile.
Finn’s “I found you” at the end is top 5 creepiest moments in this series and no I am not taking criticism on this post.

The 100 rewatch: 1x09 Unity Day
This episode was never one of my favorites, but I didn’t dislike it first time around, so I was surprised to which extent I did this time. It’s an important episode that moves the plot along in crucial ways both on the Ark and on the ground, but it has so many of the things I disliked in season 1 (the Jaha/Diana plot – which reaches its climax and ends with this episode, Finn the peacemaker, and the first appearance of Anya – always one of my least favorite characters, who starts the tradition of Grounders being extremely hypocritical in their interactions with the Arkers) or that I’m indifferent to (the very rushed Linctavia romance - the Romeo and Juliet “we just met and we’re already in love” type romance was never my thing, I just don’t find it relatable).
Rating: 6/10
The scenes I liked the best were just the little moments of the Delinquents having fun during the Unity Day celebration. And I don’t mean just the scene where Clarke and Bellamy spend a few minutes eye fucking flirting totally platonically interacting, but also Clarke having fun with a couple of random Delinquents (Fox and Sterling, who are both introduced here) and the start of Jasper’s and Raven’s friendship and him telling her that she now kind of has a family with the Delinquents. And I liked Miller’s snarky remark while watching Jaha’s speech, that he can now try to take credit after the 100 have done the toughest job.
This was the first time we got the backstory of the 12 stations joining, and the unofficial fact that the 13th station was blown up, which the show explored more in S3.
It’s also the first time we hear the “…May we meet again” prayer for the dying, when Kane says it to his mother.
At least the Diana/Jaha conflict is finally over. This is how not to do moral greyness: instead of having sympathy for both sides, I disliked both sides equally, which results in indifference. Diana’s political stance is supposed to be about protecting the working class, but it’s kinda hard to trust that when all her people did in the previous episodes was manipulate one member of the Ark’s working class to do their dirty job and assassinate Jaha and then another one to try to kill the former one. And here they stage a terrorist attack and fail to kill Jaha, again (this guy survived probably more near-deaths during the show than anyone else), but blow up a bunch of innocent people, including children.  And on the other side you have Jaha, with all his oppression, executions and constant lies. But I guess this show loves the “people being total a-holes and destroying everything” plots, like this one.
Something that I always disliked but couldn't put my finger on why, but now I know: Finn’s new role as a peacemaker is just Finn doing Finn things again: he is saying so many things that sound right (peace, we should all get along, stop the cycle of violence etc.) but the way he goes about it is so frustrating and stupid, it’s basically “How not to do pacifism”.
First, he goes to talk to Lincoln on his own and suggests negotiations – nice, but Lincoln tells him straight up that he has no power to negotiate a truce, and Finn is like “Find someone who can”. What makes him think any of the Grounder leaders will listen to Lincoln? He knows nothing about the Grounder society, so it’s dumb to assume they don’t have a strict hierarchy and act the same as an informal group like the 100. He assumes the thing is already as good as agreed on and that everyone will do exactly as he wants them to, including the Grounders not bringing any weapons, because he said so. Then he tells that to Clarke alone – Lincoln identified her as the leader of the 100; I wonder what Finn would’ve done if Lincoln had thought Bellamy was the leader – and brings it all to her as a done deal, telling her to do as he says, insisting that there should be no weapons, and silencing any arguments to the contrary.
First off, this is really stupid: there’s nothing unusual about bringing guards to peace negotiations, in fact, I’m pretty sure that’s what leaders always do – and of course the Grounders are going to bring armed guards and backup to the meeting. This shouldn’t have been a surprise. Secondly, how presumptuous is he? Now that I’ve seen S2, everything Finn does looks like an attempt to be a hero and to prove himself as a hero to Clarke specifically and to have her need him, like Raven did on the Ark.
Clarke, on her part, obviously thinks to herself – the same as she later does during the conversation with Anya – “there’s no use arguing with someone so unreasonable”, and you can see her starting to learn to be sneaky to get things done. So she goes to Bellamy for armed backup, of course. Later, Finn is surprised that, oh look, the Grounder “leader” is coming with armed guards (duh) and is clearly upset when Anya tells Clarke to come to talk to her on the middle of the bridge by herself, not letting Finn come with her. He lost the opportunity to be her knight protector. How do you think you can protect her, Finn, when you didn’t bring any weapons? In fact, not only does Anya come with armed guards, but she has a knife herself, and archers hidden in the trees nearby, including one ready to shoot Clarke any moment.
Bellamy made a mistake bringing Jasper, the guy who was speared by the Grounders – but having seen S2 and S3, it’s clear that even Abby has no clue about PTSD, so it’s not surprise that Bellamy didn’t. Though he seemed to have learned by S4, when he acted very differently with Riley. Jasper’s PTSD certainly was partly responsible for the way he jumped to the conclusion that the Grounders were going to kill Clarke. I don’t think they were intending to – or they would have done it immediately – but the archer was clearly there to shoot any moment she does anything suspicious, so her life was in danger for sure – it could’ve easily ended up as one of those “I thought he was reaching for a gun” situations.
I love the way Clarke and Bellamy just looked at each other and rolled their eyes at Finn when he started blaming Clarke for bringing up backup and said “All you had to do it trust me”. Geez, Finn, not everything is about your relationship with Clarke. And this didn’t even make sense – she could trust him but still think he was being dumb, he could not vouch for the Grounders, and he was wrong in his expectation they would do what he told them to and come without weapons.
I’ve always found Anya really annoying, and with the info we find out later, it’s even worse, because it’s obvious that everything that came out of her mouth during that meeting was utter BS. I had forgotten that she actually told Clarke: “You’ve started a war you don’t know how to finish”. Really?
Tumblr media
Not the last time the Grounders will blame the Arkers for the things they did themselves, or for defending themselves against them. Even more annoying is the fact that some fans take the “you started a war by destroying our village” argument seriously, in spite of the facts that Grounders speared Jasper way before that and engaged in intimidation tactics, that they must have known exactly what the 100 were like for quite some time since 1) at least one person, Lincoln, followed them and noted info about them, and 2) we learn in 1x10 that they had captured and tortured Murphy and that he told them everything. And you have to be extremely stupid to conclude that 100 unarmed kids going around having fun are an invading force, or that their first action would be to blow up a random village, rather than find out more about the Grounders, target their leadership, do anything strategically important. Lexa was not stupid, so I think that she was probably thinking along the same lines as Bellamy was in 1x04 when the crowd was lynching Muprhy – “give people what they want”. People want to blame someone, they want blood for blood, so let’s give them an enemy.
Anya’s other arguments are even worse:  the Delinquents also supposedly started the war because “you captured and tortured one of ours” – forgetting that they did it right after the Grounders had killed 3 of the Delinquents and were just about to attack and killed more when the fake signal for the acid fog interrupted them. She says she has no reason to make a deal that Clarke cannot guarantee the Ark leadership would observe. True – but we now know that Anya is not the actual leader of the Grounders or even Trikru, so she has no authority to do guarantee the rest would listen, either. The deal was negotiated over a few hours, so I doubt they could have consulted Lexa in Polis (and it’s questionable if even Lexa could guarantee anything, since the clans were not united, and Trikru were at war with the Ice Nation so much of the time).
And her reply to Clarke’s warning that the soldiers from the Ark would come to destroy them with their technology, “They wouldn’t be the first to try”, seems like empty bragging. That has to be about the Mountain Men, but they never actually tried to destroy the Grounders. Why would they destroy their continuous blood supply? They just wanted to enslave and harvest them, and it doesn’t seem like the Grounders were ever able to do much about it.
Body count: a ton of people from the Ark, but I don’t know the numbers. Dozens of people in the terrorist attack, including Kane’s mother and the cute girl who was giving the speech. Then everyone on the Exodus ship, including Diana, when it crashes – which we now know was caused by Mount Weather. The Mountain Men killed so many Arkers in S1, before they even appeared on screen. (They said before that the Exodus ship can take up to 700 people, so I guess it must have been around that number, or at least a few hundred people?) And Diana’s actions crippled the Ark and it lost power, so she’s responsible for the imminent deaths of a lot of people who remained on the Ark. On the ground, Jasper shot 2 Grounders, but I don’t know if they died.

The 100 Character Tag Game
How it works is you get tagged (or just try it out, even if you’re not tagged)
After that just copy/paste and determine what seasons were the best/worst for the character (personality wise) and what seasons were the best/worst (”look” wise).
***Please note that everyone will have different opinions/things they enjoy. No hate on the characters! Just something fun to try out while we wait. Feel free to add other characters. I’m trying to stick with ones that were in the show for more than 3 seasons but you can choose others if you’d like!)
Tagged by @galaxyblake who also just made up this awesome tag so that’s cool as shit
Clarke Griffin:
Best season personality: Season 4/Season 1
Best Season “look”: Season 1
Worst season personality: Season 3A/Season 5
Worst season “look”: Season 3A/Season 5, 3A is clearly worse, I’m just salty that in S5 they gave her like 20 different short hair wigs that all looked different when it would have been infinitely easier to just have Eliza use her natural hair
Bellamy Blake:
Best season personality: Season 4
Best Season “look”: Season 1
Worst season personality: Season 5 by a landslide
Worst season “look”: Season 6. I’m a #nobeardbellamy, so it’s gotta be 5 or 6, but ultimately I think S5 rocks the beard better.
Octavia Blake:
Best season personality: Season 4 (I’m using best/worst by interest not by like... morality)
Best Season “look”: Season 4
Worst season personality: Season 3
Worst season “look”: Season 6? It’s just boring.
Raven Reyes:
Best season personality: Season 4/Season 1
Best Season “look”: Season 1
Worst season personality: S E A S O N 6
Worst season “look”: She looks fundamentally the same most of the time. Maybe just Season 6 because I miss the pony.
Monty Green:
Best season personality: Season 4.
Best Season “look”: Season 2, love me the Mt Weather clothes. Or the S1 hoodie.
Worst season personality: I mean, not possible.
Worst season “look”: Season 3...? Or 4? He’s just in the Ark Guard clothes a lot.
John Murphy:
Best season personality: Season 4
Best Season “look”: Season 6.
Worst season personality: Season 1/Season 6
Worst season “look”: Season 3
Emori:
Best season personality: Season 6
Best Season “look”: Season 5/Season 6
Worst season personality: Season 2 just because she’s barely there.
Worst season “look”: She looks pretty fucking good all the time idk.
Jasper Jordan:
Best season personality: Season 2
Best Season “look”: Season 1, baby boy
Worst season personality: Season 3
Worst season “look”: Season 3
Harper McIntyre:
Best season personality: Season 3.
Best Season “look”: Season 5, nothing but lewks.
Worst season personality: Season 1 because she’s not allowed to have one. (Secondarily 5, because they fucking cheat her so much.)
Worst season “look”: Season 2 because pain :(
Nathan Miller:
Best season personality: Season 3.
Best Season “look”: Season 1 BEANIE BEANIE
Worst season personality: Season 5
Worst season “look”: Season 5, I wasn’t a fan of the Blodreina armor.
Abby Griffin:
Best season personality: Season 1
Best Season “look”: Season 2/Season 1
Worst season personality: Season 5
Worst season “look”: Season 5... why they put her in Clarke’s s3 bodice... I’ll never know
Marcus Kane:
Best season personality: Controversial opinion but Season 1, secondarily Season 4
Best Season “look”: Probably Season 2
Worst season personality: Season 5, he was veryyyy self-righteous
Worst season “look”: Season 5/Season 6

The 100 Ask Game
I was tagged by @foreverandalwayscrysis! Thank you ;)
1. What Station on the Ark would you be from? Probably Factory station because my parents both work in insurance and there’s nothing like it on the ark, but since I’m training to be a chemical engineer, I’d probably transfer to Mecha or Hydra.
2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark? Stealing medecine/supplies to help someone.
3. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground? No, I’d keep it because I’d probably follow Clarke everywhere haha.
4. What would the necklace Finn would make for you look like? (Clarke: deer/Raven: a raven duh..) A lynx
5. If you could resurrect any MINOR character who would it be? Wells, without hesitation. Or Roan. My boys.
6. Create a squad of 5 characters to go on missions with. Who are they? Clarke, Bellamy, Murphy, Wells and Roan
7. What Grounder Clan would you belong to? Floukru
8. What would your name be in Trigedasleng? I have no idea how my name would be changed (it’s Ariane so? maybe add an h? or an apostrophe somewhere?)
9. Thoughts on Finn? Some people hate him, and others love him, so I’m curious. I never liked him. I disliked him from the moment he got the kids killed in the pilot. It was obviously a bad idea to go floating around in a falling space shuttle.
10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does? I would’ve been completely unwilling. I don’t even drink alcohol, the chip would horrify me.
11. What character do you relate to most? 100% Clarke and it always will be. I’m the kind of person who looks at the pragmatic solution first and foremost.
12. What character do you like the least? Is this even a question? E/cho. Always E/cho. The best moment of my life was when Roan banished her, and the worst was when they decided to bring her to space so that she could survive. Fuck that.
13. Describe your delinquent outfit. (Would you wear something like Murphy’s jacket with the spikey red shoulder patch or have a trademark like Jasper’s goggles? Be creative, yet practical) Jeans, sneakers, a warm shirt and a blue pastel rain coat (with many hidden pockets)
14. Favorite type of mutant animal? I loved the underwater animal they encountered in the pilot even if we never really saw it, and I would love to see more, even if I wouldn’t want to see it in real life.
15. What would your job be on the Ark? Chemical engineer
16. Would you have willingly pumped Ontari’s heart if Abby asked? Yes, and I probably would’ve volunteered before she asked.
17. If Lexa wasn’t Heda, but she was still alive, then who would have made the best commander? I really love Roan, but maybe Indra or Luna (before she went “let everyone die”)
18. How would you act if you ate the hallucinogenic nuts like Jasper and Monty? I’d probably go hide in a corner until it was over
19. How would you have dealt with Charlotte’s crime? A more John Murphy approach or Bellamy Blake approach? More like Bellamy.
20. Who should have been the Chancellor, if anyone? The political system on the ark seems a little bit broken (which political system isn’t?), but if I had to choose, I’d prefer either s1 Abby or s2 Kane.
21. Would you have been on Pike’s side like Bellamy or on Kane’s side? Or Clarke in Polis? Kane. I wouldn’t have been on Pike’s side at all, but even after all this time, I still dislike the Grounder society, so I wouldn’t want abide by their rules in Polis.
22. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s iPod) What is the one thing you would snatch while there? Anything that could be used to play music and/or play games and/or read a lot of books.
23. What would your Grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint? I wouldn’t have any war paint, but I would probably get tattoos on both my arms, I’d want them to be really intricate, and abstract. I’d probably wear my hair loose or in a French braid.
24. Favorite quote? I have so many! It’s either "You may be the chancellor, but I'm in charge” (Clarke), "Maybe life should be about more than just surviving." (Clarke) or "Who we are and who we need to be to survive are very different things" (Bellamy)
25. If all of the characters were in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning? It depends on the season of the show. In s1, I’d said probably a grounder (Roan, Indra, Luna and Lexa would definitely be in the finals). By the end of s2, I’d say Clarke or Bellamy might have a chance. By s3, Clarke would be the clear winner for me.
26. Least favorite ship? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non-canon ship?
Least favorite: B/echo
Favorite canon ship: Marper
Favorite non-canon: Bellarke. Always.
27. A song that should be included in the next season? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo? My swiftie side is showing, but anything involving Taylor Swift would make me very happy.
28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time? I’d probably spend all my time trying to figure out how to get out of there? Because since we’d be two in the bunker, the food supply would go out twice as fast and we’d probably starve if we stayed as long as Murphy did.
29. You’re an extra that gets killed off. How do you die? In an epic duel (that I almost won, if only my opponent hadn’t cheated) with the villain of the season, a sword through the heart. It makes the delinquents want revenge for my death. ;) ;) ;)
30. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of? I know he’s dead, but Roan. I really wanted to learn more about his past.
31. A character you’d bang? Bellamy or Roan or Wells.
32. Would you stay in the Bunker? Go up to Space? Or live on your own in Eden? Before s5 I would’ve said space, but now I want to stay with Clarke and Madi on the ground, and never have to worry about other people ever again (or at least until 6 years later)
33. In the Bunker, would you follow Octavia? What would you do to pass the time underground? Yes, but after the cannibal thing, I probably would’ve made myself as small as possible so that she wouldn’t notice me. Ever. I’d go in complete stealth mode.
34. What crime would you commit in the Bunker that lands you in the fighting pits? Trying to cover for someone who spoke up against Bloreina or did something that would get them in the pits (like stealing).
35. Up in Space, who would you bond with first? Who would be the most difficult for you to get along with? I’d bond with Monty for sure, and I wouldn’t get along with E/cho at all.
36. How long do you think you would last on Earth by yourself? I’d die within 3 days. Because water. And not being able to find it.
37. When the Eligius ship lands what do you do? I’d probably watch from a distance, hidden, to see who they are and what they’re doing. I’d probably realize that they outnumber me, so I’d show myself because there is nowhere else to go on the planet.
38. Favorite Eligius character? Least favorite? DIYOZA!!! SHE’S THE BEST!!! And my least favourite is McCreary (obviously).
39. Would you Spacewalk? Not if it used up vital oxygen, but if I could, I would. I love space.
40. Would you prefer to eat Windshield Bugs, Space Algae, or Bunker Meat? Algea
41. Would you start a war for the last spot of green on earth? What would your solution be to avoid it? No, which is why I would show myself to Eligius in the first place. I don’t want to go to war, and I since I’d be alone against them, I prefer following their rules than trying to take them out.
42. Would you rather dig out flesh-eating worms or stick thumb drives into bullet holes? Neither? Neither? Neither? Please can I do neither?
43. Are you willing to poison your sister for the Traitor Who You Love? What would you do to stop Octavia? I have a brother, and if my brother tried to do what Octavia did to Bellamy, I would poison him. And hope it wouldn’t kill him. But even if I needed to stop him, I would never intentionally be able to kill him. I’d probably even try to stop attempts on his life. So really... don’t count me in to try and stop Octavia if she’s my sister.
44. Would you go to sleep in cryo or stay awake like Marper? Cryo.
45. Who are you waking up first to explore the new planet? Clarke, Bellamy, Murphy and Diyoza. The rest can stay asleep, but I would try to eject E/cho into space at some point.

2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark?
Probably for talking shit to an official/council member or for stealing something
3. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground?
I’d take it off in exchange for food yeah

10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does?
I have a hip injury (kinda like Raven’s) that causes me pain sometimes so if i was told that the chip would take that pain away permanently i would absolutely take it

I have never related to a character more than i relate to Clarke Griffin - especially in season 5 and what i can tell from season 6.
12. What character do you like the least?
s1: Finn
S2: Cage
S3: Pike
S4: Echo/Jaha
S5: Octavia/Echo

21. Would you have been on Pike’s side like Bellamy or on Kane’s side? Or Clarke in Polis?
Kane’s side duh
22. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s Ipod) What is the one thing you would snatch while there?
the music ie an ipod, books or art supply
23. What would your Grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint?
Tattoos: i’d probably have the flourku symbol on my shoulder or back of my neck
Hairstyle: probs like a french braid or smth
War paint: no warpaint for me
24. Favorite quote?
“For all its faults, earth is really beautiful.”
“Who we are and who we need to be to survive are very different things”
25. If all of the characters were in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning?
Octavia would be the obvious choice in terms of physicality, Raven would have a huge shot because of her brain, and then Clarke and Bellamy would probably make it to the end together and then pull a Katniss and Peeta.
26. Least favorite ship? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non canon ship? NOT INCLUDING CL OR BC OR BE
Least: Mackson
Favorite canon: Briller
Favorite non-canon: Sea Mechanic
27. A song that should be included in the next season? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo?

and i think Bootstraps cover of Stand By Me would make for a beautiful scene between the remaining delinquents
28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time?
Go crazy since it didn’t seem like he had a lot to do lol
29. Your an extra that gets killed off. How do you die?
Probably doing something stupid - i’d 100% die in season 1
30. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of?
I would have liked more flashbacks of the delinquents on the Ark and maybe some of spacekru
31. A character you’d bang?
Bellamy Blake
32. Would you stay in the Bunker? Go up to Space? Or live on your own in Eden?
If Octavia wasn’t in charge and they didnt turn to cannibalism probably the bunker but considering all factors definitely space
33. In the Bunker, would you follow Octavia? What would you do to pass the time underground?
I wouldn’t really have a choice but to follow her lol - and idk i’d probably teach or help out with the children
34. What crime would you commit in the Bunker that lands you in the fighting pits?
Probably just for talking back to Octavia or someone - or for refusing to participate in warrior training lol
35. Up in Space, who would you bond with first? Who would be the most difficult for you to get along with?
I’d bond with Harper first definitely - i would probably have trouble bonding with Echo or maybe Bellamy just because of his post-Clarke isolation
36. How long do you think you would last on Earth by yourself?
not long at all lol - i’d die of starvation and dehydration
37. When the Eligius ship lands what do you do?
Watch them and see what their deal is - decide whether they are useful/friendly and then make a decision from there
38. Favorite Eligius character? Least favorite?
Zeke or Diyoza are my favourites and McCreary is my least favourite
39. Would you Spacewalk?
Probably not lol
40. Would you prefer to eat Windshield Bugs, Space Algae, or Bunker Meat?
Space Algae tbh
41. Would you start a war for the last spot of green on earth? What would your solution be to avoid it?
I’d fight for it but i wouldn’t want a war. Negotiations and peace talks would be my first choice
42. Would you rather dig out flesh-eating worms or stick thumb drives into bullet holes?
thumb drives into bullet holes - seems nasty but not as nasty as digging out the worms
43. Are you willing to poison your sister for the Traitor Who You Love? What would you do to stop Octavia?
Me and my sister are chill so she would have had to do something really terrible for me to poison her - even if its at the expense of someone i love. If i knew that my sister would be fine if i did it then maybe but if there was no guarantee then no.
To stop Octavia i’d probably either do what Bellamy did or just kill her
44. Would you go to sleep in cryo or stay awake like Marper?
Go into cryo - unless i had a really good reason (or person) to stay awake for
45. Who are you waking up first to explore the new planet?
I’d probably go with Clarke, Bellamy, Raven, Murphy, Emori, Zeke, and Miller
I’m tagging @miles-ezekiel and anyone else who wants to do it but hasnt!

Rewatch: Episode 1x12, We Are Grounders, pt. 1
Some of our best commentary from our rewatch!
Bellamy is always so angry, its wonderful. We love our Grumpy boy
Anya mentions the ‘commander’ and we all just eye rolled. s2 and 3 are gonna be an adventure guys. bear with us. In Bri’s words “embrace it, we’re all Petty here.”
LINCOLN. Our sweet man deserved better.
Okay but they have toy soldiers on their little battle plan, where did they GET THOSE?!
Savage Jasper ‘saluting’ Bellamy is great
Bellamy going to get water for that sick kid is so sweet
And then Murphy just straight up murders that kid
Ohh jasper with the radio, so smart but also such a rookie mistake
Okay but Lincoln’s horse had two faces???
We are super obvious with characters we end up loving later hope you guys are cool with that haha
Jackson has SO many lines? and only one of them is “ABBY”
OCTAVIA BEING AN ASS TO HER BROTHER WHEN HE’S ALREADY GOT RAVEN ON IT? Like girl. Calm down and wait. Bellamy has it on lock.
This episode is hella intense
The 100 has fantastic two part finales like, seriously one of the best shows for finales
These are literally CHILDREN. Murphy is like... 16.
Murphy really didn’t want to hurt Jasper. He wasn’t trying to hurt anyone that didn’t deserve it, he just wanted to even the score.
But really if he hadn’t been banished for something he didn’t do, this would have never happened.
Murphy has the best character development of all time
So many s2 easter eggs in this season, reapers, mountain men, this show is so good
This show also does character development so well, like, Murphy from s1-s3, but also like Octavia from s1-s3. Like, positive or negative, its done so well
Elyse is in love with Ricky Whittle. Just an FYI.
Finn has had like no lines, so we haven’t hated him yet. Funny how that works.
Why is Clarke’s go to “doctor” move cauterising a wound? It does nothing for the internal issue AND NOW THEY HAVE A BURN
Season 1 Octavia is so worried about her brother.... funny how THAT changes.
Bellamy taking Jaspers place is so brave, he’s such a hero.
BABY WELLS.
Also Baby Wells and Baby Clarke SAVE ALL OF THE ADULTS. The adults are so useless tbh.
The end of this episode is so distressing, Bellamy being hung is so stressful.
The reapers are MAD creepy.
But Murphy and Bellamy’s relationship evolution is peak t100.
A MENTION OF LUNA HELL YES.
can finn just die though? like why not.
Murphy calling Bellamy the King is so good, its the recognition he deserves.
Jasper just goes in to hold bellamy up, what a badass.
And now Raven has been shot....
THAT MEANS THAT RAVEN REYES OPENED THE DOOR TO THE DROPSHIP AFTER BEING SHOT IN THE SPINE. WHAT A BADASS. THERE IS NO ONE BETTER.
Finn is really out here telling Clarke he loves her after like 2 weeks and while covered in blood. WHY.
FINN / CLARKE IS THE WORST COUPLE WHY
But why does clarke apologise to HIM for him ‘breaking her heart’ (10 days. literally like 10 days ish)? like girl NO.
Murphy dips out by blowing a hole in the wall, we love our drama hoe son.
RAVEN IS HURT AND ITS AWFUL.
okay but.... Is Jasper the first person other than his mom and O who has ever hugged Bellamy? (I was scolded for this comment yall lol)
BELLAMY BLAKE INSPIRATIONAL SPEECHES! WE. ARE GROUNDERS.
With his raspy “i just almost got hung” voice... damn son. Bob is a LEGEND.
Bellamy saying “You trust that grounder?” is a through line with his season 3 arc, like Bellamy never trusted the grounders at all.
Bellamy is such a smarty i love him.
wait... Sinclair had a WIFE?
The whole scene where Jaha reveals the plan is so beautifully done. the music, the line, the delivery, its epic.
Kills: Murphy: 1  Attempts:  Murphy: 2 Anya: 2
“How many times did we talk about hating Finn” Tally: 6
Countdown to Finn’s Death: 15 days, 9 Episodes
Countdown till Raven meets Zeke: 6 years 6 months and 3 days.

on Raven Reyes and family
I’ve always been so interested in Raven and her relationship to the concept of family, and I think this was such an important theme for her throughout s5. Imo, Raven has had familial relationships with: her mother, Finn, Sinclair, Clarke, Abby, and all of Spacekru, and I’ll talk about them all in this post. (Under a read more because it got LONG.)
We’ve always known very little little about Raven’s mother, other than the fact that she was an alcoholic who endangered Raven’s life by trading her rations away for moonshine. But Raven’s conversation with Shaw and interaction with Abby in 5x08 shows how badly her mother’s negligence affected her. “Have you ever loved someone so much that, no matter what they do to you or themselves, you take it?” Raven loved her mother, despite her mother constantly putting Raven’s life below her addiction. And eventually, her mother drank herself to death and Raven was left without a family unit.
Tumblr media
Except for Finn. Finn, who saved her life by sharing his rations, who was her best friend, who remembered her birthdays, who made her a metal raven necklace, who fell in love with her so deeply, who saved her life yet again by taking the blame for the Spacewalk even though he knew he would likely die. I don’t think Raven had ever experienced love like that in her life, and she couldn’t live without Finn; she visited him constantly while he was in lockup and risked her life to go down to Earth for him.
Tumblr media
And I can’t imagine how it must have felt for Raven to come down and see that the person she loved more than anything and she thought would be in her life forever had moved on after six days. That she had been replaced so quickly, and no matter how much she still loved him, his whole world had adapted to one without her. Finn was her family, and she must have thought she meant so little to him that he never told any of the other delinquents about her existence. But Raven finds it within herself to realize that she deserves better, no matter how much it hurts to let Finn go. “Not the way I want to be loved.” During the back half of season 1, I think Raven felt so isolated and had really low self worth. She felt like she’d lost her family, she was struggling with feelings of resentment towards Clarke and Finn that she did’t want to feel, and she was shot. I think it was such a huge turning point for Raven when Clarke told her “I’d pick you first.” I think this was where she realized she could find family on Earth other than Finn.
Tumblr media
Then, just as she’s reconciled her relationship with Finn (”we’ll always be family”) she is powerless to stop it as he’s killed hundreds of yards away from her. Of course, Clarke had no choice and I don’t hold mercy-killing Finn against her at all, but for Raven, sitting there as the girl who’s known Finn (again, Raven’s only family at this point) for less than a year take Finn’s life into her own hands as Raven is able to do nothing. Raven was willing to kill Murphy, to risk all out war by killing Lexa just to save Finn and hold on to her lifelong family, and watching her scream out in pain and collapse as Finn dies will never not be one of the most painful scenes in the show. I also think at this point, she was starting to see Clarke as family too, but felt so betrayed by how Clarke took Finn away from her without any say from Raven in the matter. “You’re the only murderer here!”

Then we have Sinclair. Sinclair believed in Raven more than anyone, both on the Ark and on Earth. He overrode Raven’s health-related rejection for being a zero-G mechanic and reassured her in s3 when she was on the verge of a mental breakdown. "I took a chance on a Zero G Mechanic with a heart defect. Why don't you take a chance on her, too?" Raven, the girl without functioning parents, had Sinclair as a father figure and mentor, without whom she never would have been able to be the incredible genius mechanic she is today. So of course, because the writers have the biggest boner for making Raven suffer, Sinclair dies, sacrificing himself to save Raven from Emerson. Another person Raven considers family dead. (It’s really no surprise that Raven ended up taking the City of Light chip after this- she had been through so much.)
Tumblr media
If Sinclair was a father figure to Raven, Abby was a mother figure, but ended up disappointing Raven and mirroring her real mother. Abby was supportive of Raven and cared about her deeply throughout the whole series (other than her slapping Raven which was gross but I digress I will not make this into an Abby hate post (but I Could)) but after the time jump, Abby’s addiction caused her to use Raven and even shock her to get what she needed. And this felt like such a betrayal to Raven, especially after seeing her mother go down the same path. Not only that, but Abby had the gall to try and condescend to Raven about pain after everything she’s been through “Don’t talk to me about pain!”
Tumblr media
But, while the time jump was not good for Abby, it gave Raven a new family in the form of Bellamy, Murphy, Emori, Monty, Harper, and Echo: Spacekru. I think these six years in space were SO healing for Raven and brought true family back into her life, which is the main reason I love the Spacekru bond so much. Raven has never had biological family. She’s had to fight for everyone in her life and let down her walls enough to find family, not to mention the fact that most of these bonds were made during war and the literal end of the world. But with Spacekru, they lived in peace. Raven was able to deepen her relationships with all of them and develop trust we haven’t seen from her in a long time. She was able to forgive Murphy for shooting her back in s1, she found a tech buddy, a roommate, and protegee (and best friend don’t @ me) in Emori, and probably had so much more amazing growth with all of them in space that the writers are too cowardly to show us (GIVE ME SPACEKRU FLASHBACKS OR GIVE ME DEATH.) Although that family is now fragmented by the loss of Monty and Harper, Raven will know that they lived their lives in peace and saved everyone, and will enter s6 with Bellamy, Murphy, Emori, Echo, and eventually, Shaw as her family.
Tumblr media
TL;DR: Raven Reyes has suffered the loss and betrayal of nearly all her family, but still has the strength and love in her heart to forge new, meaningful bonds with a family she has chosen and I love her.

6x04, The Salt, B/C
I really, truly think the writers fumbled the Bellamy/Clarke dynamic so hard. Nothing makes this clearer than my dashboard’s vastly different opinions about the scene where Clarke apologizes to him. The writers have never been clear on the relationship that Clarke and Bellamy have, I honestly think there isn’t any Behind the Scenes interpretation, given how some writers seem to write episodes that emphasize their potential romantic relationship and some writers seem determined to burn that down. Everything about them can be taken either way - romantic or platonic - and yet they no longer make any sense on either level.
And now, they’re trying to patch together a believable, strong friendship that simply isn’t believable - unless it’s what you want to see. So half the fandom is rejoicing that things are “back to the good old days,” and the other half is furious that Bellamy appears to be suffering from amnesia about the things that Clarke did to him only a few days ago. I honestly have no idea how to feel, and I don’t think the writers know how they want us to feel. Not about them.
It just doesn’t make any sense. It even rang hollow for me back in s5, when Bellamy poisons Octavia because she threatens to have Clarke executed. Time and time again, the show demonstrates that Bellamy is Clarke’s button, and Clarke is Bellamy’s. Back in s3, when Abby is under the influence of ALIE, she knows torturing Bellamy will break Clarke. Also in s3, Bellamy risks his life to save Clarke, despite the fact that she abandoned him three months before. In s4, when Bellamy is about to open the door to the bunker, he risks his life by forcing Clarke to choose between shooting him to stop him from opening the door, or letting him open it and bringing the death of hundreds of her people - of, in her eyes, humanity. She doesn’t shoot. In s5, Octavia is well down the warpath before Bellamy finally decides to personally try to take her out - because she threatens to execute Clarke. Bellamy’s biggest regret is leaving Clarke behind, to the point that he risks his life to wait for Spacekru, unwilling to make the same mistake twice. Clarke called Bellamy every single day for six years, despite never hearing a response, or even knowing if they survived long enough to make The Ring livable. Dozens of examples litter the entire narrative, starting in s3 especially, where Clarke and Bellamy choose each other over the lives of their own families, of humanity, of themselves.
But why? Because they’re in love? How?
It all has to rest on their interactions in s1 and s2, because they’ve been on the same side very rarely since then. They’ve barely even been in the same place since then! They had a really shitty month together, watched a bunch of the kids they felt responsible for die, and then were separated when Clarke was taken by the Mountain Men. They were together for a handful more days, but barely spoke, as Clarke was far more preoccupied with keeping Finn alive. Then she sends Bellamy to spy in Mt Weather. They’re separated for another few weeks. Then they genocide a bunch of people together (soooo romantic! they touched hands!! while murdering hundreds!!!!!), and Clarke fucks off into the forest to play Grounder for three months. During their time apart, they both fall for other people and those people die horribly. They briefly reunite to figure out how to save their people/humanity again in s3 and s4, then separate for six years. During that time, Clarke becomes a mother and Bellamy enters a serious, longterm relationship. They do not speak - Clarke talks into empty air to make herself feel better, to help herself remember her (most likely dead, at that point) friends, and on the dimmest hope that she might find some conversation with someone other than a child for once. Bellamy and Spacekru return, Clarke’s on their side for a hot second before Madi is threatened, and Clarke proceeds to systemically betray every single member of Bellamy’s family, who he has known and loved for six years at this point, much longer than the handful of weeks he spent with Clarke Griffin before the world ended. Then everyone rushes to salvation, sleeps for a hundred or so years, and wakes up with yesterday’s problems still fresh on their mind. It makes sense that Raven and Murphy cannot stop themselves from sniping at Clarke, and it makes zero sense that Bellamy is totally fine with her! There is no discernible onscreen reason for Bellamy to side with Clarke against his family, to defend her, to smile at her and hug her.
The only reasons are because, despite it not making a damn bit of sense, Bellamy and Clarke are each others’ buttons. And that only makes sense if you slip on shipper-goggles and assume you’re watching the world’s slowest slowburn.
The worst part of it all is that time jump. Without that six year gap, it might make sense that Bellamy and Clarke would fall for each other. They certainly seemed ready to in 4x13. But then, the writers separated them for so long, primarily because they needed to age their characters to match their cast, who are rapidly aging out of the believable “I’m a teenager” stage, even with television always stretching that to the absolute limit as it is.
But this isn’t a slowburn, it’s a fumble. The writers have been spinning the “they’re just friends!!!” plate for way too long. It’s just clumsy now, and the reason no one can agree on what Bellamy and Clarke mean to each other is because the narrative has never been clear about it, not once. Their feelings towards one another, how quickly they’re willing to turn on each other, whether or not they consider one another expendable - all of that can and does change on a dime, every episode.
Here’s what this has to do with 6x04 - pretty much everyone but Bellamy rejected Clarke’s attempt at an apology. Raven bites back, Murphy will not stop giving her shit - only Bellamy listens, and hugs her, and seems ready to accept her apology. I’ve seen a lot of people insisting he didn’t, but I’m sorry, he did. If you can’t see that, you’re stretching as hard as shippers do sometimes. Bellamy has forgiven Clarke, whether it’s deserved or not, whether anything has happened onscreen to justify it or not. That’s what the narrative is going to continue to do - support the idea that Clarke and Bellamy mean so much more to each other than they’ve ever earned onscreen or in the script.
Now, Clarke is “gone” - Russell indicated that her mind would be erased when Josephine took over her brain - and it’s going to be up to the people who know Clarke best to try and figure out that someone else is in her body. Given how everyone but Bellamy has responded to her so far, who do you think is likely to notice first? Madi is the obvious choice, but it’s clear she’ll be distracted by Sheidheda this season. Either way, I guarantee that Bellamy and Madi will spearhead the “save Clarke” campaign.
Even though it doesn’t make much sense, that Bellamy has even come far enough from what Clarke did to him and his family, that he’d be willing to talk or spend time with her unless he was forced to. That’s what’s coming. And I’m so frustrated, because I truly don’t think the Bellarke dynamic is earned, even still, and especially now, given how poorly the transition from s5 to s6 has been handled. All this will do is continue to fuel the fandom fire over what Clarke and Bellamy mean to each other, yet the writers will almost definitely still refuse to commit to making their relationship canonically romantic.
Why are they playing along this line? Are they ever going to do anything with it? There was a solid chance that The 100 ended last year, that we never got an s6. The writers gave us an ending that was meant to be open and yet satisfying - one that ended with Clarke and Bellamy embracing. Will they ever go farther than that? Will there ever be anything to legitimize their feelings for each other?
I’m not saying they’re behaving in a way that only a romantic couple can behave. Best friends are meaningful and frequently sacrifice for one another in stories and in real life. But even the idea of Bellamy and Clarke being best friends no longer makes sense to me.
It’s just...unearned. This whole season has felt unearned. The longer it goes on, the more I wish things had ended in s4. There are definitely some bright spots, but so few of them come from the OGs.
We’re heading into a brief hiatus - at least a week, next week there will be a repeat - so I’ve got time to wrestle with this and get over my salt. Still, I can’t help but dread how this messy, poorly written dynamic will continue, given that it’s my absolute biggest minus of this show.
