I followed Re:Dracula when I heard Jonathan Sims appears in it, the Hotel promotion made me more excited to get into it, BUT- it reminded me-

If you’re a fan of Jonathan Sims and some how haven’t heard of Slay The Princess, the full game is coming out soon and there’s a generous free demo still available and it’s really good.

Nichole Goodnight (who I know from The NoSleep Podcast) plays the titular Princess, Jonathan Sims is the Narrator and ‘The Voices in your Head’ and both of them do a really good job.

I don’t want to spoil too much but your goal in the game is what it says on the tin, you have to slay a Princess or the world will end.

Would me saying that Sims also does a Matt Berry impression in the game sweeten the deal as well?

The full game is coming out on October 20th so now is the perfect time to check out the demo on Steam.

Edit: I looked up Nichole Goodnight’s socials to check if I was spelling her name correct and still managed to drop the ‘h’ on accident.

Can we please normalise putting content warnings for horror media or podcasts like the Magnus Archives does?

"But Quinn!" You cry "It's horror! What do you expect?"

Everyone has different levels of what they can handle. I can listen to a monster story and be a bit scared, terrified even, but the moment there's something like infanticide I'm just... not scared, just rattled and disturbed (not in the fun horror way)

And ALSO I'd like to listen to spooky podcasts without the supposed supernatural events suddenly turning out to be goddamn pedophilia or r*pe what the fuck (looking at you Nosleep Podcast)

Look. When people are complaining about how the quality of a piece of media took a complete nosedive and I agree, it's because the creators are lazy hacks who shouldn't be writing. I shit you not the main narrator for The Nosleep Podcast in one of the season 4 episodes was discussing the criticism regarding their content and lack of content warnings and he was like

"There are content warnings, only I decide when when put them there and no, content warnings for mentioned events (e.g: mentions of rape) don't count I refuse to put them in" and I've never felt such a strong urge to punch someone.

There are no content warnings, at least not on Spotify. I have checked multiple times.

He then goes on to say as the story editor he won't include stories that he feels crosses the line of "good taste" excuse me my guy what about all of those stories that are just like "oh yeah the Chinese guy was ate my dog" or "Oh its not a monster it was a pedophile in the wall"
