WEEK 1: Favorite Movie - Logan

A love letter goodbye after 17 legendary years. Not to be forgotten this Marvel film was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Academy Awards in 2018. Director James Mangold and Hugh Jackman have done a number of films together including the previous solo outing The Wolverine but of course this is undoubtably their masterpiece. To use a football cliche because it’s that time of the year: He left it all on the field. But it wasn’t just about the tenacity towards bringing Wolverine to life but it was the love he had in doing so and the heart that he brought the character no more than in this film. Sir Patrick Stewart a longtime great and Dafne Keen greatness in the making came alongside Hugh to create this little and broken but beautiful family. I think it’s fitting in starting this celebration of the X-Men films that as we waited a long time for an rated-R Wolverine film with Hugh that we may never see him snikt up alongside the Avengers but hopefully they might consider bringing young Keen back as the MCU’s Wolverine instead of trying to recast the one and only Logan...
