there is, understandably, the “it’s just bungled writing under awful development crunch” answer, but i am just Obsessed with Audacity preying upon Marethari’s unexamined pride. There’s absolutely an element of dramatic irony to us the audience knowing Now that there’s no way the eluvian could’ve set the demon free; he was bound to Sundermount, so even if Merril’s eluvian led to the Fade itself, he couldn’t have escaped. But even with the knowledge Marethari could know in game aka the Imperium used the eluvians for long distance communication and Tamlen + possibly the Warden were infected with the Blight, not demon corruption, there isn’t really something which could reasonably point to Marethari to the idea that the demon could escape with the mirror’s completion. It simply preys upon her trauma regarding losing at least one member of her clan and her pride, her refusal to consider another perspective.

THINNING THE VEIL OIL

I have been hyper fixated on my craft the past two years. This oil feels like a culmination of all my knowledge gained in that time. It involves multiple specialty incense mixes I’ve perfected and a personal protection oil recipe. Not to mention wood that requires a fresh blood sacrifice and a deep enough connection with a passed on loved one to collect their graveyard dirt. And if you don’t have a blessing from Hecate to cross through her liminal spaces, this will just be sticks and dirt in some oil. Typically I wouldn’t share something so specific and private but I felt the need to on this one.

This oil is to be used to speak to the dead, thin the veil between this world and the next, strengthen the connection to our ancestors and call out to our spirit guides. Anointed candles, burned, will open your magical space to all spirits, so be warned: set your boundaries before, during and after your candles have been lit. Know the limits of your current power status. If you are new, this is not to be messed with. If you haven't done research on banishing unwanted spirits, this is not for you...yet. What I used:

[☪] personal protection oil as a base - my sturdy friend in all protection rituals.

[☪] peace to the dead incense

[☪] Hecate incense - the liminal spaces are her realm. Her permission and blessings on this oil felt imperative to me. if you aren't down with the deity thing, feel free to leave this out (if you dare).

[☪] Yew tree branches - please click the link and do your research before cutting any yew trees!

graveyard dirt - do you research on this before taking! offerings must be made and permission must be given. connect with your spirits before taking graveyard dirt.

[☪] blood - MUST be yours and MUST be given freely

dove's blood ink - totally optional, but I made the damn ink from forage to finish and have a lot of it. it gave the oil an incredible color. the picture above is taken before the ink was added.

I joined everything in a jar on the 17th of October, 2022. I meditated and reached out to my ancestors and to Goddess Hecate, and any other kind spirits that wished to bless my oil with otherworldly powers. I placed my biggest piece of selenite on top, to act like a high vibration beacon for any friendly spirits until Samhain. I have been giving offering to the oil and will continue until Samhain, when I will strain and bottle for later usage.

Halloween Dancers

I had an idea, I'll probably write it properly later but for now I'm getting it out of my head. I was reading a post a out Dash being a talkshow host and leading to them outing Amity and this came to mind.

A cousin of a citizen of Amity heard all about all the crazy stuff going down, they keep them updated in their weekly phone calls, but thought they were making it up. Eventually divolves into an argument and they decide to look to prove them wrong. And find the internet oddly sanitised, which makes them look deeper. Eventually they get others involved wondering tf is going on over in Illinois. They manage to break through but mess up, instead boosting the signal so much that the halloween livestreams take over a large chunk of American media. T.v. s, computers, phones, etc all playing the phantom streams, where someone sees phantom just chilling and starts streaming. this time it's Samhain and the place is eerie. Blue tinged fog covers the place, it's dark out, no living person in sight and the camera pointed to the sky. In the sky you see glowing figures dancing to music coming from nowhere. An ageless youth in regal clothes spinning his partner, white hair drifing like he's underwater, his partner dressed like the pharohs of old spinning alongside him. A woman dressed in victorian ballgowns joining their dance. Other etheral beings coming out of the woodwork, spinning in the sky alongside their king. The dead dancing in the starlit sky as the veil becomes thin enough they can all come through with no major issues. And this haunting scene taking over every screen within the signals range. As the hours go by the sun begins to rise and the fog fades. they bow and begin to fade back into the realms, leaving the original three waltzing in the sunrise as the stars fade before leaving themselves and the stream cuts off.

Turns out their cousin wasn't lying, wierd stuff is going on in Amity, and no one, including the JL, knew about it. Someones head was going to rule for the lack of info. This stunk of a coverup.

Anyway, as an alloaro, greyromantic, aceflux and non-communal Aro: Happy Valentine's day. You are not "Aro/ace/Aroacephobic" for celebrating your love. You are not doing Valentine's Day wrong if your celebrating your platonic love or love for yourself instead of a romantic and/or sexual partner. You're not hurting fellow LGBT people by enjoying your love and celebrating it. Valentine's Day can mean many things for many people.

And when your done healing, I hope you learn that some things just arnt about you and just because they arnt, doesn't make them bad. It sucks to not feel personally included in a wildly celebrated holiday but many people survive st. Patrick's without being Irish, Easter without being Christian and the 4th of July without being American or having American pride. This isn't any different and you don't have to like Valentine's Day, but understand for many gay couples, interracial couples, trans couples, interfaith couples, polycules and so many other people whose love is oppressed and destroyed, this day is a day for them to show their love.

with the context his DLC gave about what he means by finding it peaceful there, i think Vivia should have stayed in Kanai Ward in the epilogue instead of leaving so he could take care of the agency.

that poor thing was left entierly alone, it's the last thing they have of Yakou and they all abandoned it- it's a fucking tragedy they pulled that shit. if any of them should come back and take care of it it's Vivia; with his connection to Yakou thanks to the DLC showing us Yakou was his reason to live, and with Yuma having convinced him to presue his detective work- Vivia could pick up where Yakou left off as the only detective in Kanai Ward and build himself up proper.

you could have Vivia growing from where Yakou fell- you could have him learn from Yakou via his left behind work- you could have him honor Yakou by living on for him and keeping his spirit alive by keeping the Nocturnal Detective Agency afloat (pun intended)- could have him even purposefully keep every bit of furniture Yakou had in there even though it's garish and he could buy much better cause it was Yakous so it has sentimental value

i'm so pressed no one stayed to keep the agency running, and after seeing the depth of what Yakou meant to Vivia from his DLC i'm even more pressed that Vivia specifically didn't stay.
