We've had a tree fall onto our roof by a hurricane, and it required a bit of patching up, but it really wasn't bad. im kinda curious about how benji making an account resulted in him manipulating fans if you'd like to explain a little more :)

cause i get how that would be bad for both sides. i've seen so many people just using that accs dms as therapy session which is,,,not good imo. so yeah thoughts?

sure anon! i’m gonna put this under a cut bc it ended up being pretty long. but here’s my ramble on that little case study, and the danger of parasocial relationships in general:

so we have benji krol and jorge garay. maybe you know them from being kinda relevant on tiktok like a year and a half ago, maybe you remember the accusations that practically ended both of their careers. i’m exposing myself heavy here, but i used to run a stan acct on twitter for them. i know it’s embarassing! i regret it too! typing their names still kinda makes me sick tbh! but i used to see a lot of myself in them, and the community was fun, and it was nice to see what i thought was a healthy queer relationship. we move on.

benji had a very close relationship with his stans, especially after quarantine started. he had multiple private/secret twitter accounts where he would take a very active role in the fandom. he’d spend so long on those accounts, to the point where there were times where we would tell him not to use them (and that in and of itself is very showing of what our dynamic with him was like). he would reply and talk to a lot of ppl on stan twt, myself included, but there was a small groupchat of about a dozen people that he talked to very regularly. he would tell them things that were meant to be kept secret even from other stans, and in some cases things that we know for certain he didn’t even tell some of his closest friends.

because they were so close with benji, these stans obviously got a lot of clout within the fandom (as they should have too! they were mostly all rly nice, i’m still moots w a few). but what was going essentially unnoticed there was just how much manipulation was occurring. i honestly don’t believe it was even fully intentional on benji’s part. but over the course of more than a year he manipulated them into defending him against almost every negative accusation he faced. these people would have screenshots and receipts from him personally, ready to pull him out of all potential drama or criticism. and he did this by presenting their relationship as a mutual friendship, as if there wasn’t a blatant and vast imbalance of power.

and then one day last august, the allegations came out. jorge, who was 18, was accused of grooming another influencer who was 15 at the time, and benji was accused of enabling and even contributing to the grooming. over the course of the following days and weeks, as it became apparent that these alleged events did actually happen, the fandom was forced to collectively reevaluate the things that had been going on for over a year, and how we had all ended up in a situation where we unknowingly supported those people. since then, various other information has surfaced that implies that benji himself was somewhat unaware of what was happening. you can watch his yt vdeo if you’re interested in hearing his defense, and the reason he’s not canceled off the face of the earth like jorge is. but the degree to which he may or may not be innocent is not really my focus here.

i cannot begin to express the shock of spending so long idolizing someone, genuinely learning a lot about who they are, only to have something so significant and disgusting revealed about them like that. everyone in the fandom kind of compared receipts and took an outside look at what had been happening and realized just how harmful the close relationship with benji had been. to quote one of my rant tweets from august 22nd: “i just feel so stupid because i would always say ‘we shouldn’t act like we really know them’ and. here i am sobbing anyways bc i still put too much trust in these people who are rly just fucking strangers”. and there were several dozens of people that were much closer to him and much more personally affected than me. plus hundreds of others that were involved in the fandom.

and that brings me into my main point here. this is a firsthand account of a very extreme example of manipulation within a parasocial relationship. i think benji did genuinely care about his fans, even if it was in a very self-indulgent and egotistical manner. but caring about your fans does not do anything to negate the harm that is done by manipulating your relationship with them.

it’s not that a fan doesn’t know what a given content creator is really like, because a lot of them do present their honestly selves to a considerable degree. it’s that there is no way to know what things you don’t know about a CC. no way to tell what will surface tomorrow and completely change your entire perception of them. and no way to interact with them on equal grounds. and because of this, i am extremely wary of any CC who presents their relationship with their fans as one of friendship, especially when a large amount of those fans are minors. it’s not inherently wrong persay, but it’s more dangerous than i think a lot of fans or CCs realize.

#and the reason i say all this is bc there's an uncomfy amount of parallels for me #between how b*nji used to act with fans #and how dream does now #especialy with dt*twt in last may/june as i said earlier #obviously none of this is actually implicating of dream in any major way #i cannot stress that enough #just a bit of a cautionary tale. and definitively #my most embarrassing era to date #all hail the cracker!#asks #anonymous

I wanted to do this for the blog's first anniversary but then completely forgot about it lol.

The following lists are all in chronological order according to the date each post was first published.

#1: Don and Gilda - Chapter 138: Demon serch (1)

My very first redraw from my very first edit posted here, so it deserves an honorable mention. Back then I was young and inexperienced, I didn't even apply a gray filter (lmao I was so unskilled I even unintentionally scratched the picture, I hadn't realized until today). I'm actually very happy my first redraw was of Don, boy deserves all the love.

#2: Emma and Ray - Chapter 140: I’m Here!

Date: Jun 28th, 2019

Back then this looked like so much work to me!!! And to this day, I think it turned out pretty well. I'm particularly proud of how the bow turned out. This is one I was really proud of right after having finished it; it gave me the confidence to try redrawing bigger areas. Also, the edit were I first applied the opacity of layer / opacity of brush for the gray filter that would have stuck with me.

#3: Krone's birthday edit

I don't know I just really like how Krone's hair vanish to a more sketch-like style here– and consequently, how I managed to replicate such effect. I think Krone's beautiful.

#4: Emma, Norman and Ray - Chapter 153: Coward

Probably the single panel redraw I'm the most proud of. That Norman panel was beautiful and very poignant at the end of a chapter I adored, so I believe it deserved all the time I've spent working on it. It's far from being perfect - the back of his head is too plain, and the difference between my brushes and the original brushes is pretty visible - but I still like it very much and am extremely attached to it. The horn looks kinda big but I honestly believe it to be more of an issue with the original than with what I had redrawn lol. Funny enough, the whole picture didn't make it to the final edit and had to be trimmed.

#5: Full Score Trio - Chapter 154: A Breakthrough

Sis I love this so freaking much. The shift from redrawing almost exclusively people and clothes to redrawing this mess was so fun and refreshing. Even though it's a mess I think it turned out very clean and overall it looks beautiful? I remember after finishing this I felt so powerful, like now that I had redrawn this thing I would have been able to redraw anything I set my mind on lol.

The very first edit I'm actually proud of; I'm really attached to it. It's the first edit I had put all of my effort into, and I remember feeling anxious people would have left it without notes. It kinda feels weird to think about it now, because I really don't care about notes anymore; yet, it somehow makes me happy to think that past-me wasn't let down. Thank you @neverlandstrio for your support, you may not remember but it really meant a lot to me back then! And it still makes me smile. You're the best!!!!!!

#2: Mujika and Queen Legravalima - Chapter 158: The Reason I Was Born

This whole edit was an hella wild ride. It's midnight before a school day, when I think: "Mh, it's been a while since I last made an edit, why not make one about Musica and the queen from the last chapter?" And seven hours after this was born. I'm particularly proud of the queen's redraws on the 3rd, 7th and 9th picture (ofc), the areas which have been redrawn are pretty huge yet I think the difference with the original is almost impossible to notice?? @Redrawing skills where did you go please come back (part 2)

#3: Emma - Chapter 174: A New World (part 1)

I think the panels that were selected work very well together, especially considering the close-up / full body alternation. I love Emma, and I've always been kinda sad noticing that edits that focus one her take the less notes... She deserves all the love. Also, fun fact: for the last but one panel, I had redrawn Emma's whole left ear before remembering she doesn't have one, so I had to redraw the panel from the start. Besides from the error with the ear, the reason why this (and all the others after) took so long is because official panel take way longer to clean.

#4: Isabella and her children - Chapter 177: Mother

Date: May 22nd, 2020

Lmao tbh I can't understand how this has so few notes it's like. Technically speaking, probably the best edit I've ever done. I don't even like Isabella that much, I haven't got the slightlest idea why I decided to spend so many hours on this. Anyway, I find the composition (full body on the left / headshots on the right) really good looking in this as well! And I think the redraws turned out fine, especially Isabella's.

#5: The Promised Neverland manga ending countdown→ 1/7 chapters: chapter 1 - Grace Field House

I don't know how I came up with that idea for the composition but I find it really beautiful??? I think it does a pretty good job conveying the sudden, terrific shift of atmosphere from the first chapter, and I think that sharp bridge is very nice. I'm very, very proud of this.

A very good chapter, and the edit turned out surprisingly amazing??? All the redraws look great and make it almost impossible to distinguish them from the original; honestly I feel like I'll never be able to redraw so neatly again lol.

Honorable mention #2: Don and Gilda (+ Norman) - Chapter 160: Shackles

That one is really one of my favorite scenes; I'm telling you peoples, Gilda and Don are a blessing to the earth. I think I've never mentioned it, but Gilda's hair is a nightmare to redraw??? More specifically, it takes me h o u r s to fill the texture without making it look too weird, it's the worst.

Honorable mention #3: Norman and Ray - Chapter 179: Compensation

I was so glad to finally be able to make a Norman / Ray edit, and it turned out it was just in time before the series' finale. I like how it turned out and I'm pretty satisfied with the redraws (even though my sister helped me with the lineart of some panels - it was exams time and I really couldn't afford to spend more time on it), too bad we didn't have more chapters that focused on the boys. Ray sweetie one day I'll fix your ear it's just today's not that day.

Btw, I justed realized I have never done an Emma / Norman centered edit? I'll have to make one eventually. I remember considering focusing on them alone for the chapter 154 one, but then I thought "even if the manga is gonna ignore Ray, I will chose to do not" lol.

I just had really a lot of fun doing it. I love putting all the little things to their own place, it's so calming to do and that's why I love making this kind of things. Also, loved how @temporoom contributed to the post! It was so nice of them to add what they had noticed to come up with more exact conclusions, that's one of the things I love the most about the internet.

#2: A study of how many times the characters of The Promised Neverland call each other through the first season of the anime

I REALLY LOVE IT! I mean it *was* kinda stressing to note everything, but it was very also very satisfying to see everything methodically divided and organized! And it's not just that– it's also the fact that it looks good. That's one post I have fun rereading because it's actually pretty! Also, even though it can be very stressing to learn to use new programs and sites, it's always very satisfying to look at the final result. Again, I really adore compiling these tiny little details! I would love to make more posts of that kind if i had the time.

#3: The Promised Neverland musicals headcanons

Somebody wants to hear my opinion on this subject! I'm flattered (◍•ᴗ•◍)”

#5: Some other considerations on the series' finale and Emma sacrificing herself

Pretty much the same as above. It's like some kind of clarity when the post is done and signed. Another fun fact, I had to censore the post a lot; the first version was extremely sharp and harsh, but I believe it's right to express your opinions calmly and politely.

Hi. I monetize my traffic by placing Google Adsense ads on my blog. Those do not pop-up, are safe and based on the visitor’s search history and location. This is how most websites make money these days. In the past they would give out accs to just about anyone, but these days they are more strict about it. Most cc creators might have to put a bit of money (optionally, around 6-9$) and time to get approved. The requirements are the following:

Very long post ahead

1). Top-level domain (com, net, org, etc, so mauvemorn.net, not mauvemorn.tumblr.com).

Alternatively, you can get an acc on Blogger without having to buy a domain, it is owned by Google. It’s best to have a SSL certificate, too (additional security measure that turns http into https, Google is said to prioritize websites that have it, Tumblr does not allow to edit themes that have links that start with http). If you’re buying your domain for Tumbr, there’s no need to buy SSL. Tumblr offers their own. You just need to wait for a day or so for it to change. If you’re buying it for another website that does not offer this feature, it’s best to buy it in the process of buying a domain. I remember Namecheap offering me it for 2$, but after I bought a domain, SSL started to cost 8$. Make sure to google for a discount!! I saved 3$ this way lmao.

2). Unique written content.

This will be the most important and challenging thing to get for a cc creator, i will give suggestions in the end. The exact number of words and text posts is not voiced anywhere in google documentation, but people say you should have at least 10-12 text posts that have at least 800 words each. When I applied, I had around 50 posts, 14 (if I’m not mistaken) of which were text posts with the word count above 1200. Almost all of them were posted in a row, like, not scattered across my blog. You should also check the grammar, it does not have to be perfect, just no random typos.

And by “unique” I mean it should not be copy-pasted from anywhere, should be written by you. The software will scan everything available to it to check if your written content is not plagiarized. Do not use copyright protected images either.

3). Privacy policy, About, Contact us, Disclaimer.

Privacy policy basically warns your visitors that the website is collecting some of their data. You can rephrase mine, just make sure to do it more-or-less thoroughly so that google does not count it as copy-pasted.

Disclaimer is the same thing but shorter. You know the window that pops-up when you enter a new website telling you something about cookies? That’s it. It does not have to pop-up though. Just make a new page and put it somewhere.

About is, well, put whatever you want there.

Things that may or may not be important, depending on who you ask

1). The blog must be active. Post something after you apply.

Once you apply, the window will tell you you’ll get a reply after 24 hours. I received it on 18th day, coincidently or not right after I posted something. The long wait may also be a matter of the platform I chose (Tumblr is not a SEO friendly website, but it is the best for this type of content since it has large the sims fandom).

2). Traffic.

Some people say it matters, other say it does not. Before applying, I didn’t post any cc in months, so my traffic was very low, around 200-300 page views per day. If your website is new and you get no traffic at all, you can install vpn and just open all of your pages from each country available until you get at least 200 pageviews. I think it does not matter though, but, again, I do not know for a fact.

3). SEO

So as I mentioned, Tumblr is a very bad choice of the platform SEO-wise, does not work well with search engines, but most people do not actually look for cc this way. Most of my traffic is direct (from simsdom and similar websites). However, you can improve your tumblr performance (…i think) by tying it to Google search console and submitting site maps. I don’t know much about it tbh, but you can do it just in case.

4). Website appearance

You want your website to be simple, no red text on a yellow background or something as dramatic, no micro font, no pop-ups or effects, no music that can be copyrighted, etc.

5). Your blog’s age

In some countries ( India, China) a blog must be older than 6 months to get approved. However, I’ve seen people from India say they got it for 2 weeks old blogs, so just…try and see it for yourself.

Once you get approved:

1). Tie your website to Google analytics.

It can help you understand where your traffic comes from, what posts get the most of it, etc.

2). PUT DOWNLOAD LINKS UNDER THE CUT ( like, Read more thing ) LIKE I DO. Not only does it drive traffic to your page instead of someone who reblogged it, BUT ALSO ENSURES PEOPLE DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF THE PACKAGE. There’s always a possibility of you missing something and having to update the file.

3). Be considerate.

Do not use link-shortening websites. They give people viruses. Many would just not download from you if they know you’re using it. MAKE SURE TO SPECIFY THE LINK IS DIRECT OR HAS NO ADF.LY. These websites bring very little money, so you won’t lose much.

Upload you cc on google drive and generate direct links this way. Websites like Mediafire with their pop-up windows can be annoying.

Do not make content that is very high-poly. I do not go past 10k unless I absolutely have to (and when I do, I mention it in the description). If your 60k item will crush someone’s game, they will not download from you again.

Do not half-ass your cc. If there is a problem, post it in Creator’s help and someone will assist you. If your cc does not morph, people would not want to use it. If your cc distorts, people would not want to use it. If your mesh greatly slows down game or crushes it, people would not want to use it.

Do not make content that is very simple or very complex. No one needs 5653467 simple white t-shirts or CK bras in their CAS. Not many people would need some avant-garde shoes in theirs either. For example, my simple Zoe pumps have 25k page views, while the last DVN sandals have 207k. That’s ~40$ against ~345$. Clearly the last took longer to make but it was worth it.

3). Some say that the post shows up only in the first 5 tags used. I think Tumblr fixed it but just in case put the most commonly used tags first.

4). If you started a completely new Tumblr, your posts will not appear in the tags (anti-bot measure). So the best way to be noticed is to contact some cc finds type of blogs. Once simsdom starts to post your cc, you will no longer need to worry about search results or your following, as I said, most of my traffic comes from them.

5). The more ads you have per page, the more money they will bring you. However, when you put a lot of them, it affects the page loading speed, usually by seconds, but if a person has a very slow internet, it can be much longer. So I suggest you to not use these whatever they are that make people wait for a minute to access a download link because they use an adblock. Most people do not use them and you will make a lot of money regardless so long your cc is decent.

6). Ad size will affect your revenue, too. Choose the most popular ones not locally, but in general. Most of your traffic will come from USA, UK, South Korea, Brazil, Russia, so, again, better not to choose ad size by region.

7). Preview. If you do not know how to make previews in the 3d software of your choice, I strongly advise you to learn. Not only will it be much easier, but you will also give a better idea of what textures really look like without graphic card coming into play. However, do not overdo it. Do not play too much with lights or specular, this will give people the wrong impression of what your cc is really like. As for picture editing, you can change the skin, background, anything, but NEVER EDIT THE OUTFIT/SHOES/ACCESSORIES/WHATEVER YOU’VE MADE ITSELF. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. When I download something that looks good in previews but significantly worse in-game, I do not download from that creator anymore and neither will many people.

8). Specify if previews are made with HQ textures or not.

Just a warning. Once your earning surpass 10$, google will send you a pin code. It can take 2-4 weeks for it to be delivered to your address by post. You need it to be able to withdraw money. Your earning must surpass 100$ per month for you to actually withdraw them. But you will actually receive them 22 days later. So, say, by the 1 of November I know how much I will receive for October, but I actually receive this sum on the 22nd of November….yeah.

As for how much money to expect. 60k pageviews bring me around 100$. The click on ads is what actually brings the most money, but for the love of everything, do not click on them yourself or ask people to do it, do not buy traffic, you will be banned.

About text post suggestions:

1). In my case they were tutorials, but PLEASE if you’re new or do not understand why certain things need to be done, DO NOT MAKE TUTORIALS. When I began making cc, I was happy with anything, but as I started to moderate Creators help, I also started to wish some people would just not make them. Newbies keep making the same mistakes, keep having no idea why they are doing what they’re doing, keep being discouraged and confused. The more tutorials with no explanation there is, the less chances a person will find the right one. I understand that one cannot know everything and there is very little official info on these matters, but please, if you are not confident in your knowledge, if you only know how but not why, if you do not have time to properly explain something, do not make tutorials before educating yourself or making time for it.

2). If you have been around for a while now, you can groups all of your asks into new text posts by topics. Make sure to copy-paste the questions, check for typos, hide it under the cut to not make your followers scroll endlessly, and delete or hide the original asks. I DO NOT PROMISE IT WILL WORK but it should.

3). If you started a new blog I THINK BUT I DO NOT GUARANTEE you can make those 10+ about anything, post them one or two per day, apply, get approved, then just delete or hide them and start posting your cc. Again, I do not guarantee this will work, but logically it should and nothing of it goes against the rules. Simsdom, simfileshare and many websites without any text posts continue to have these accounts, so nothing should happen to yours.

kaia was born into a wealthy family right off the bat. her father ran a fortune 500 company and her mother was a retired singer who rose to fame in the mid eighties and dominated the industry up until she retired and had kaia in 1997.

for as long as kaia can remember, her parents’ relationship had been toxic. they were always arguing with one another and cheating on one another. kaia wouldn’t be surprised if her and her siblings were half siblings given how often their mom cheated on their father and vice versa.

ever since she was a little girl, her parents, her mother especially, was really hard on her and her siblings. if they expressed an interest in something, she made them practice it until they perfected it. oftentimes that would lead to them developing a hatred towards what they once loved because she ruined it for them.

the first thing that their mother ever ruined for her was dancing. she wanted to be a ballet dancer when she was four years old. her mother put her in lessons and suddenly it was like all she was allowed to do was ballet. for six years kaia had to endure ballet lessons even though she didn’t want to, and she despised it by the time she was able to get out - still does to the day tbh

her music career started when she was just fifteen years old. she was signed to her mother’s former label and they worked on music for a year until she released her debut album when she was sixteen. everything was pretty much done for her, she was just told what to sing and how to sing it. she enjoyed music though, so she didn’t really mind it at first.

she got pretty popular pretty early on, more than she thought she would. she quickly began to grow weary of the industry because even at a young age, she was being sexualized and it made her feel pretty uncomfortable.

on top of that, she had signed a contract that made it so that she had to release at least one album every year, although it would be preferred that she release two. not only did she have albums to release, but she had to tour, do appearances, and other performances. she was being stretched super thin and her stress was becoming more and more difficult to handle.

by the time she was twenty and had been in the industry for a few years, she released seven studio albums - one in 2013, two in 2014, two in 2015, one in 2016 and one in 2017.

the stress on her mind and body from being so overworked eventually took its toll, and she ended up having to take a break from the industry altogether. she developed major anxiety issues and had to go on medication for it. that was in 2018, the same year that her contract with her label expired. they gave her hell, trying to get her to sign back with them, but she refused.

they tried to have her blacklisted in the industry, but fortunately for kaia, her name still held a lot of star power. if someone heard her name, they’d want to work with her, regardless of her label.

now she’s under a new label and is currently working on her first EP

is very bitter towards her mother because her mother basically saw everything her former label did to her and didn’t try to help her or stop it, even when she was still a teenager. they don’t get along, and they don’t even speak these days unless they absolutely have to.

she’s nervous about releasing new music because she’s afraid that people have forgotten her/won’t like her new sound.

still the same kaia personality wise - materialistic, a little catty, kind of a bitch, but a loyal ass friend.

only this time add a dash of bitterness and self deprecation.

How do you deal with people shipping non-canon ships for your story?

To be completely honest, I've only had one person ever ship a non canon/endgame thing. I kinda just ignored it. I think I would in general just ignore it, no matter how many people did ship a non canon thing. But it does make me uncomfortable

I once had a professor tell me "once you release your story to the world it no longer belongs to you" and i think he was right. once your story is shared with others it can no longer be said to be solely your creation anymore. you can't stop other people from shipping non-canon ships and even if you want to discourage it it's kind of beyond your hands at that point. other people's interpretations of your work is something you have to accept as a creator even if you find it unsavoury

this is always in the back of my mind so uh, I let folks be and try not to search up fandom pics of my comic. at the US at least, I remember reading that creators who are currently writing/creating a story and it's not up to completion, anything like viewing fanart or reading fanfiction of alternative interpretations is not advised. So you have to stow it away till the story is thoroughly done, then you can just check out what fans are doing rip. I think it's aimed towards creators who have like NDA thing they're working on or if they're working with a publisher. still, I thought that's an important thing to keep in mind.

though I do get folks send me like single character fanart and really doesn't interfer with the story anyway so I accept those lmao

I totally agree carcarchu. Readers can interpret character interactions through their own lenses and sometimes what we as creators intend in the story may be seen as a potential ship to varying degrees. I actually just had a conversation about this within my beta circle where a friend who hasn’t seen the whole script shipped a non canon pair and it was interesting! I personally don’t feel disturbed by it unless the pair had a large age difference/can potentially be unhealthy etc. There is a threshold I won’t cross but that tends to be quite high. Otherwise I just think it’s interesting and continue the actual story

I haven't come across this with mine yet, but given that my story is deliberately non-romantic and the whole cast is aroace, I wouldn't be comfortable with anyone shipping any characters romantically. But that's very specific to my comic.

To me, there are four levels of "non-canon" with regards to shipping. 1. You were supposed to ship this and get disappointed, so good job. The obvious example is the Mizuki-Cahe-Pejiba love triangle. Mizuki x Pejiba doesn't work out in the end, but it's not like it was a non-viable ship - if Mizuki x Pejiba wasn't compelling at all, it wouldn't have been much of a love triangle, now would it? 2. Didn't think of it myself, but I get the dynamic you're going for. One surprisingly common ship in the shipping contest poll was Taci x Coruby, which isn't a ship I was deliberately teasing... but, like, I get it? Coruby is outgoing, loyal, and makes lots of dad jokes. Taci is prickly, self-absorbed, backstabbing, and was (is? probably is) literally afraid of dad jokes. I can definitely see why people would want to see more of that dynamic. 3. ...Why? An example of this is Zaxaty x Mr. Enetoro, which showed up in the poll. Even ignoring the bad age gap (22 vs 50 which is like... all right... she's half your age but ok...) and the sexuality incompatibility (Zaxaty's only into women, Enetoro's not into anyone)... these two have literally never spoken to each other either on or off screen. Literally what drew you to this pairing??? Like I'd almost believe it was a mis-click on the poll over anyone actually thinking these two work together. 4. Bad, bad, very very bad. AKA "they're related", "one's underage", and/or "i know exactly why you want this ship, and I don't like it". For a while during the shipping poll's running, the third place ship was Mizuki x Nothing. First off, the age gap there is pretty gross, but I guess I can't expect readers to know that (Nothing is an immortal demon, but relative to other demons it's a kid so... someone's underage there). And second... I know exactly why people were shipping Mizuki with the giant demon that uses tendrils to mind control people, and I do not like that dynamic.

As for what I do about the ships in #3 or #4... so far, nothing, because they've been contained to the poll. If someone drew actual art of them, though, I'd probably tell them to stop, and I for sure wouldn't post the art on my fan-art page.

I don’t have a very present fandom, at least in the sense that there’s any amount of shipping that’s unexpected. Or maybe it’s tucked away? I think the people who read my comic aren’t ones who make their own content. Either way, I’m pretty ok with shipping non-canon ships. I’d encourage it, really. I love the idea of people having fun with my characters in a way I didn’t expect. As for ships that are taboo... as long as they’re not hurting real people, I just don’t want to see it really or be made to be part of it. It would make me uncomfortable.

Yeah, how pushy/not pushy they are with Weird Ships is a big factor for me as well.

As long as they keep it to themselves, they can ship all the ships they want, no matter how icky. I'd prefer to not know if it's really icky.

So far there is only one Potentially Viable ship in my comic, though. And that Viable ship is very, very important to me. So if anyone ships one of the involved characters with someone else, I would seriously hope it's not because I've failed to develop the Viable Ship in a compelling manner. People are free to ship whoever, but don't let that be because of my own failure as a storyteller?

I've actually had anti-shippers against that Viable ship though lol, which may be relevant to the topic. What do you do when you get vocal anti-shippers of canon ships

I do think it is related, like another variation of "people sticking to their own thing with regards to ships."

As a shipper: any crack ships I come up with is usually just because I like to explore the dynamic. Some people are more extreme about hating ships but... idk it’s probably just because they don’t like one of the characters for some reason

I haven't had it happen yet (my comic is less than a year old and doesn't have a lot of followers haha) But I'm really open about shipping! Much like @kayotics I would probably encourage it. I'm personally aroace and in my original writing I like to explore non-romantic relationships, but I know the appeal of shipping and tbh i ship my own ocs that aren't canon to the story/don't get explored in the comic because they're background characters for whatever reason. It would be genuinely fun to see if other people started exploring those ships on their own! Or things I haven't thought about! If something made me really uncomfortable, I would likely ignore it. If someone tried to get their non-canon ship to become canon that would be worse, no matter if i personally liked the ship or not, lol.

It doesn’t happen so much currently with Phantomarine, because I just don’t have enough shippable characters yet (related, underage, or otherwise just kinda squicky). I wonder what will happen when I introduce more. But as long as people are interacting with my characters in a fun healthy way, but still respect my choices in the end, they can ship away in any (legal) direction. It’s honestly not a ship-heavy story. It’s far more about friendship and healing and rebuilding strength/trust after trauma - if any shipping were to happen, it would probably be in a sequel or continuation when everyone is... feeling a lot better

Depends on the characters. 90% of the time I don't care, I may even make jokes. There's nothing wrong with people wanting to see my hideous characters getting together, although there are two things that would make me a little salty. 1. If there is a scene going on that I want readers to take seriously. Such as if there is a part in the story where someone is overwhelmed and having a mental break down, then another character comes over to help calm them down. It would be kinda rude to get a bunch of comments screaming "KISS THEM!", "KISS NOW!" Although that could just be me being a stick in the mud. 2. Anything involving Julian. They are currently not mentally stable enough to properly consent to any romantic endeavors, so when people try to ship other characters with them it's a little... eeeeh! Kinda non-con, and it feels a little gross. I try not to get on anyones ass about these, realizing no one means any harm, they may not even be full aware of the situation. (Especially with Julian since they're still functional enough to talk to people sometimes and hold down a job.) Normally I leave the comments be, they just kinda irk me sometimes.

Honestly, I think I'd be flattered to see more fan interaction with Fractured Magic. Even if it's a ship I don't really get, it would just be nice to know people are engaged with the story and like my characters enough to interact with them beyond just reading (though this answer's definitely coming from a place of having been publishing it only half a year and not having a huge readerbase yet) Someone making fanfic with my characters is actually a major goal of my writing, but I agree with the above people who said reading it before the story's done probably isn't a good idea. I don't think there's much legal risk to it (I actually wrote a major paper on this in law school) - there's only been one case even remotely analogous in the US. Someone wrote a Rocky fan script and sent it to the writers, and then the next Rocky movie had a similar plot and the person sued. The judge said if you make a derivative work (like fanfic), you can't sue the creators of the original copyright for infringement. But I do think it would be bad form bc it is really easy to be influenced by stuff like fanfiction of your own story, even if you don't mean to be

Thankfully I haven't had to deal with people shipping my characters from MHIAC with anybody else. But that's mostly because I've only actually introduced the two main characters, who are husbands, and one friend. I think it'd be super interesting to see how people view the character relationships once I introduce more of the cast. I'd be really curious too! I mean, I don't want people to try and break up the canon couple that's for sure... but I guess all the side characters are fair game for shipping if people choose to. I'd honestly be super flattered if people shipped any of my characters, it would feel like I'm doing something right. As long as there's no NSFW stuff because boy that'd make me uncomfortable.

Shipping‘s fan stuff and just for fan, as long as you do it in your own space, go hog-wild. Have fun! Not gonna watch/read/view it, but have fun! People taking their headcanons as fact for the main-comic might end up a problem, but I‘ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

So far, I've only had people ship the canon main couple, so I haven't had problems yet. But honestly, I don't care who the readers ship for the most part, unless it's gross and/or illegal. For example, if they are related or underage... Other than that, I don't mind. It's all in good fun

I actually wanna add on to my comment: non canon ships only make me uncomfortable if they go against the Characters sexuality, or if it's an abusive ship or illegal. If it's not one of those then it doesn't bother me! My Characters are generally friends so I totally get someone wanting to ship two who won't be endgame

I dunno. I just can't be bothered by stuff like that for multiple reasons. 1) Most of my characters don't talk about their sexuality in the comic. 2) Because of setting and time period, everyone expects everyone to be straight (which of course isn't true). 3) And I don't think readers typically mean anything bad by shipping people with each other that won't be together (again, unless it's gross or illegal).

One of my characters, for example, is aroace, but he doesn't even know that's a thing, because sexuality and mental health is not understood in this time period. I have my own idea that my main characters are pan and ace respectively, but it doesn't come up in the comic and they don't have the lingo for it during this time period, so I can't blame readers for making up their own headcanons and ships

I have only had one single ship comment in the 14 years I’ve been doing webcomics, and it was over a decade ago. But it was also an intensely uncomfortable one, where a reader was trying to ship my 14yo gay character with an adult female villain. Needless to say I put the brakes on that right away, and have never had a ship comment since.

But secretly I wish readers did occasionally ship my adult characters, because so long as they don’t get toxic, I think non canon shipping can be fun. If the reader doesn’t demand their ship be made canon or fight with people shipping a different pairing, I’d be all for it.

I have a main ship that I push myself that so far a lot of readers have been really receptive to (Merlow/Nocturne <3). As a reader, I want to second that it's important to distinguish what you mean when you say you don't tolerate specific ships. Obviously, no one think pedophilia is okay and that would be a fine ship to not tolerate. However, if all you say is you don't tolerate specific ships, readers will also jump to the worst conclusion possible, which in this context is you don't tolerate anything that is non-canon (vs. what creators think is the worst possible conclusion when they hear non-canon).

lmao i'll try to get one comment in before the discussion closes As a creator, a lot of my feelings about shipping is related to how I am as a reader/audience member for media? Character dynamics and relationships are one of my favorite things + what'll usually hook me for a series, and definitely exploring relationships that either didn't receive any attention or were completely non-existent in the original material is one of my favorite things to do! And that'll inspire me to create or make certain choices with my original characters based on that "Well, what if [this] happened in that story?" So with that, I don't find myself get super-attached to canon/endgame ships and I'll just do my own thing, regardless. I always respect the original intent when it comes to character's sexuality or preference (unless it's a case of 'everyone's straight' lol), but I'm a rabid multishipper in fandom anyways so I'll carry that energy over to my own works LOL And let it be free for all, even if I have an 'end' goal in mind. Also input as a reader: sometimes it's good to be completely upfront about where your boundaries are as a creator! And also being explicit about certain character details or relationships can help, because a lot of times readers don't.. really know.. I can't tell you the number of times I've started reading a comic where the ages of the characters are very ambiguous with: - specific ages are never said - the art style is stylized in a way that unless they're explicitly a child or an elderly person, everyone looks like they're the same age - the context clues on their age is limited to.. they worked a minimum wage job - in-story they are treated with the same level of respect and authority status as everyone else around them - characters that are older than them that act the same age and that's led me several times to thinking a character was at least 18-23+ and actually they were supposed to be 14.....

I’m just gonna pop in here and say this: shippers making queer content of (presumably) straight characters is a large part of how I figured out I was queer, because for the most part (especially when I was younger) that doesn’t exist in the public eye.

My comic isn't romance based, it's horror but I feel that really good horror is best built off characters you can connect to. So I have some families. I have some married couples. The older two "children" (they are in their 20s) are dating. I made one of my main non-binary and their partner is ace. Another main is a transman. In my heart my characters are all pan anyway so I like just putting them with who I think works best lol

I also low key ship one of my married characters with another character that is coming in later. I do enjoy shipping so I might be biased lol

And like Snuffysam, I kind of have similar tiers for ships, too. Besides, if what I'm writing doesn't meet their needs, I'd rather see shippers search out, celebrate, and elevate work that better matches the values they idealize in pairings. I have run into more than one person who hyperfixates on a ship (in any media, not just comics) that's... honestly, truly, never going to happen? Like, a main character crossed with a background character who had no lines and showed up in a single scene. That sort of thing. Then they implode/explode when it doesn't become canon by the end. If it happened for my own work, I don't know what I'd say. Apart from telling people not to put all their eggs in one basket, I guess I fear that kind of manic fanaticism.

I think everyone's mileage varies on what 'the right representation' of relationships and characters is. Barring obvious no-nos, I don't think everyone will ever be 100% satisfied. I do very much dread that one person coming into my comments to tell me "You did this character/ship wrong, thus, you are a bad writer, and probably a bad person - gonna write an article about you now kthxbye" At that point, I would just hope enough people come to my side to go "Um... no?" because I would definitely want to recede far into the nearest dark corner and think about what I've done

Yeah. when I did get that comment of someone kind of telling me off about how Ive chosen to represent things. I really kind of started... not overthinking, because I dont think that worrying about doing a good job and taking comments into consideration is BAD, per se, but I started really worrying about whether or not i DID do something wrong. my friends came to my defense, which was very nice, and the person did actually end up changing their mind and kind of rescinding their comment. I think places like this and having people that support you to back you up when stuff like this happens is really important

IT’S VACATION TIME!

‘Bout to drop a lot of info, so please read this post thoroughly, and like it when you’re done!

The gang is off to a cottage in Muskoka, Canada! Below is the schedule of events: this whole event will run from Friday 16th August (8pm GMT) to Sunday, 25th August (8pm GMT), and covers the same period in-game. As always, threads will be able to be wrapped up after this time, but new ones may not be started.

An important thing to note is that there will not be dash posts during this time. All interactions will be in our usual face to face format, which includes speech marks to indicate an in-character interaction, and can, but does not have to, contain description -- example one, example two. And, as always, other forms of communication are allowed and encouraged -- tweets, instagram posts, calls, and texts are all fine, just no tumblr dash posts.

(( Threads and posts relating to our AU development task are absolutely allowed to be posted during this time ))

(( We’ll also be finding a way to incorporate games on Discord into the event, as before -- Cards Against Humanity will definitely be played on an evening or two! ))

We will be having one mandatory event (the treasure hunt), and one big party on the final weekend of the trip, which would be Saturday for our characters, but, for us, will be Friday 8pm GMT to Sunday 8pm GMT. However, it is reasonable to assume that the gang would drink at other times, particularly together during evenings. This includes hosting parties in smaller groups -- such as a group of roomies hosting a party in their room, and maybe inviting one or two others. You do you, but please post in the plotting channel if any mini events are planned!

And -- a reminder that this event is, in part, a celebration of the birthdays of Harvey, Morgan, Ivy, and Levi!

The events below are to give you a few ideas of what people are up to. Your character does not have to take part in every event, but this is an idea of what most people will hopefully be doing each day. The ‘free day’ has two purposes: one, to allow you to post any new and unrelated starters with your own ideas, and two, to give you time to wrap up threads from previous days. Please title and/or tag your threads accordingly so we know which day each thread is for. If possible, try not to carry them on for too long, or else it’s all gunna get real confusing -- new days need new threads!

Luckily for our gang, the weather forecast is beautiful for Muskoka during that time -- at least, according to the made-up weather channel I’m watching. It will vary between a nice 25c to 30c (’cause they’re in Canada so suck it, Americans), perfect weather for swimming, sunbathing, and generally frolicking around in nature. Please assume any and all water or nature related activities are available -- this cottage is kind of like the Room of Requirement, so anything your character wants to do, they can absolutely do. Unless it’s like... murder. Murder is bad.

Okay. Enough info. Here is the schedule for the week! I’ll post each day on the main what they’re up to, and as always, shoot me any questions if anything was confusing!

16th: ARRIVAL: Everyone flies to the cottage and gets settled.

17th: free day

18th: KAYAKING: everyone is off on a kayaking adventure, paddling a little further away from home! We have one and two-person kayaks, and paddle boards available -- can’t wait for everyone to fall in tbh.

19th: CAMPING: some of the gang have decided to spend a night in tents rather than in the cottage -- though others are definitely staying at home. (( we’ll vote on discord who’s coming or not )) Those who are camping will be setting up in a clearing about a mile from the house, with a great view of the stars and s’mores for days. Will it be cute as fuck? Definitely. Will it get a little spooky? Maybe. Ghost stories are obligatory, and we’ll be hosting a camp fire over discord.

20th: free day

21st: TREASURE HUNT: please find information about this HERE. This is the one mandatory event, as we’ll be pairing up to hunt the treasure.

22nd: free day

23rd - 25th: BIG BLOW-OUT PARTY: Though this event would occur on the evening of the 24th in game, to give us time to write it, it will take up the whole weekend for us. Usual party rules apply!

25th: DEPARTURE: Gang flies home, though this won’t require any threads.

The death battle of Ben 10 vs. green lantern is going on youtube at may 22nd. Are you excited also do you think ben's gonna win?

I was actually not aware of this at all before u mentioned it… so thnx 4 telling me lol but from what I’ve looked up, I think it can go two ways:

1. If they go with 10 year old Ben then it’s unfair because I’d assume the other guy would be at his most powerful, which 10 year old/OS Ben is not (but I still think he’s capable enough to hold his own).

2. If they go with older Ben then I’m obviously rooting for him to win, which I think he would (lol but I’m also biased and don’t know much about the other guy, but then again Ben has an alien to counter pretty much anything).

tbh they better not undermine Ben’s abilities just because he’s from a “kid’s show” because that’s what I usually see being done in these kinds of “death battles”…something like this for example

HEADCANON: OCTOBER 2023-JUNE 2024

according to ffh, it's been eight months since thanos was defeated. what has lila been up to in this period of time? here we go:

sometime in october 2023 --- lila comes back from death, fights alongside all the heroes in the battle of earth. only after everything is done she finds out natasha is gone. she's required to come to school as she's still 15. in the same month there are both tony and nat's funerals.

november 22nd, 2023 --- it's her birthday. she turns 16 ( she actually turns 21 but eh ) and this is when she begins to reconsider becoming a hero since in the last month all she wanted was peace of mind to come to terms with her grief. however, before that she's got to come to terms with some other stuff; before the battle she was thrusted bow and quiver in her hands and told to fight, meaning that she had no chance to process the trauma of vanishing while practicing with her bow, five years prior. bow gives her bad memories and she wants it as far away as possible. at the same time, if she's supposed to be hawkeye she's got to face the issue. lila finally goes to therapy ( god knows her whole family needs it tbh )

january/february 2024 --- lila can't be hawkeye because a girl in the city is fighting crime and has given herself the codename as an homage to clint. lila considers taking up the black widow mantle as homage to nat. kate and lila eventually meet and lila suggests as a joke to make a STRIKE Team Delta 2.0 ; they end up doing it for real.

may/early june 2024 --- lila finally gives in and joins fury's crew. they make a deal that school still comes first even though a correction on her age has been made on her papers to prevent going against protocols on child soldiers.

during the events of ffh lila is not attending the school trip as she goes to school at BVA. however as peter fights against mysterio, lila is working on a way to bring nat back ( or at least her body ) ; natasha gave clint hope by bringing her back, and now she's going to return the favour.

june 2024 --- after the events of ffh, lila gets into SHIELD as she had planned in 2018. at the same time fury gives lila a "mission". it turns out she actually has to keep an eye on him and make sure he recovers from trauma and possibly finds a friend with some similar trauma, but of course things take the worst possible turn and peter's identity gets released worldwide.

Eurovision 2019 my top 41 after show

Hello!!! And welcome to another episode of this ESC top series, and we go to May 14, 16 and 18, when the 64th edition of the contest was held in Tel Aviv after Netta’s victory in Lisbon. Before the live shows I posted a provisional top and many things have changed so I’ll mark them. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Bulgaria and Ukraine because they withdrew, Bulgaria because of financial reasons and Ukraine because of some problems regarding the selection of the artist (MARUV NOOOOOOOO, still hurts). The winner this edition was The Netherlands with Duncan Laurence and the song Arcade, making this the 5th time they won the contest and the first one after 44 years!!! So let’s go in this musical adventure.

1st Place: THE NETHERLANDS/Duncan Laurence-Arcade (Real Placing: 1st-498 points) (Before the show: 1st place)

I think I manage to guess the winners in odd years, and ladies and gentleman, THIS IS SUPERB, the perfect winner for this year, simply staged, beautiful performance, stunning voice and Duncan is such a cute person, and I’m so happy this won this year, and what a win!!!!!

2nd Place: ITALY/Mahmood-Soldi (Real Placing: 2nd-472 points) (Before the show: 4th place)

SOLDI SOLDI *CLAP CLAP*. Simply one of the best songs this year, this has a lot of quality and it would’ve been an amazing winner, the music is so unique and beautiful and also the lyrics are amazing, maybe the performance wasn’t as spectacular as I thought it would be but it works.

3rd Place: SWITZERLAND/Luca Hänni-She got me (Real Placing: 4th-364 points) (Before the show: 2nd place)

AAAAAAAA FINALLY THEY FINISHED TOP 5 AAAAAAAAAA. I’m so glad because this is one of my fave songs this year and it deserved top 3 tbh, also the staging is so amazing, he managed to deliver an amazing performance while dancing and I enjoyed every piece of this performance. GO SWITZERLAND.

4th Place: AZERBAIJAN/Chingiz-Truth (Real Placing: 8th-302 points) (Before the show: 3rd place)

Whoa, this was lifted to the sky with the performance, Chingiz has an amazing voice and the song itself is very good, it’s catchy, enjoyable and it worked so well at the end, a very good result for them after 5 years of not so great results.

5th Place: ALBANIA/Jonida Maliqi-Ktheju tokës (Real Placing: 17th-90 points) (Before the show: 5th place)

I can’t describe how crazy I’m about this song, her voice is something awesome, the music is epic, and this was stunning, the staging was simple yet effective and I can’t believe it finished very low, I hope Albania keeps sending quality entries like this and Mall.

6th Place: ICELAND/Hatari-Hatrið mun sigra (Real Placing: 10th-232 points) (Before the show: 6th place)

The power this song has is amazing, and the performance is so enchanting and mesmerizing, time passes and I enjoy this song more and more, maybe this is what my life needed, this is an epic song and I’ll always remember this, and it’s a good song when you feel angry.

7th Place: SPAIN/Miki-La venda (Real Placing: 22nd-54 points) (Before the show: 11th place)

ARE YOU SERIOUS THIS FINISHED 22ND???? EUROPE PLS, this was the perfect way to close the show and I was expecting this a bit higher, Miki’s voice was way better than in OT and he carried a fiesta on stage, it deserved like 10 more places.

8th Place: MALTA/Michela-Chameleon (Real Placing: 14th-107 points) (Before the show: 8th place)

The best Maltese entry in years and it finished outside the top 10? Maybe she wasn’t very energetic on stage but everything else was so good, her singing improved from the semi and maybe performing first wasn’t the best idea, still a very good song.

9th Place: POLAND/Tulia-Fire of love (Pali się) (Real Placing: 11th SF1-120 points) (Before the show: 7th place)

WHY EUROPE WHYYYYYYYYY, NOOOOOOOO. This was so good and deserved the final, they were amazing, on point and it was a nice performance, this had a lot of energy and it will remain as one of my fave entries in recent years, I never stop listening to this.

10th Place: NORWAY/KEiiNO-Spirit in the sky (Real Placing: 6th-331 points) (Before the show: 9th place)

NORDIC REALNESS SERVED IN THIS SONG, and I’m so glad this did better than people thought, they sing well together and I enjoy the jojk part so much, this is everything I like in a modern schlager ethno Nordic song, and I’m so happy they won the televote <3

11th Place: NORTH MACEDONIA/Tamara Todevska-Proud (Real Placing: 7th-305) (Before the show: 18th place)

CONGRATULATIONS NORTH MACEDONIA!!!!!!! You finally broke the barrier of the 12th place, and with a hell of a song, Tamara is such a wonderful singer and when she got her 12 points she was so surprised, but with this performance you can understand her placing, also I loved the dress (unpopular opinion) A well deserved score and well done finally NM!!!!

12th Place: AUSTRALIA/Kate Miller-Heidke-Zero Gravity (Real Placing: 9th-284 points) (Before the show: 36th place)

Where is my clown wig? Remember when I said I didn’t like this entry, it took me 3 months to like it kskkskks, Kate is such an amazing singer, the staging surprised me so much and it’s beautiful, I really thought she was flying around the world, Australia, I’m so sorry for mistreating you before.

13th Place: RUSSIA/Sergey Lazarev-Scream (Real Placing: 3rd-370 points) (Before the show: 10th place)

Again Sergey Lazarev finished 3rd lsskskks, but seriously his voice is very impressive, the staging was nice, and the song is great also, maybe it needed a bit of an oomph or something like the music video but I enjoy this.

14th Place: SWEDEN/John Lundvik-Too late for love (Real Placing: 5th-334 points) (Before the show: 15th place)

Again Sweden delivers a lot of quality on stage, John is such a good singer, his voice is flawless and I love The Mammas, they sound so great, and the staging is perfect for the song, the song is also very good and catchy, another nice entry.

15th Place: ISRAEL/Kobi Marimi-Home (Real Placing: 23rd-35 points) (Before the show: 28th place)

They revamped the song!!!! AND THEY MADE IT 1000 TIMES BETTER, also Kobi’s voice is so stunning and the staging was beautiful, it moved me so much and I thought this was going to score very well, a pretty performance and I hope I can listen more of Kobi in the future.

16th Place: PORTUGAL/Conan Osiris-Telemóveis (Real Placing: 15th SF1-51 points) (Before the show: 16th place)

Another one of the NQ’s that I’ll never forget, maybe the staging wasn’t the right one but Conan’s voice is amazing and the music is hypnotic, it certainly deserved more love.

17th Place: CZECH REPUBLIC/Lake Malawi-Friend of a friend (Real Placing: 11th-157 points) (Before the show: 23rd place)

AWWWWW YEEEEES THEY DID IT AGAIN, this song it’s so wonderful, it puts me in a great mood and they’re so charismatic, I loved the staging and finally they got their first 12 points ever!!!!

18th Place: SLOVENIA/Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl-Sebi (Real Placing: 15th-105 points) (Before the show: 17th place)

This song is like a trip to another dimension, so calm, intimate, and everything is good and pleasant, I’m so glad this song did it to the final and the performance was so good, it’s one of those songs that’s perfect for a rainy day.

19th Place: GREECE/Katerine Duska-Better love (Real Placing: 21st-74 points) (Before the show: 14th place)

This song didn’t meet my expectations live, the performance was a bit too much and I was expecting something else, also her vocals were a bit restrained, I’ll stay with the studio version.

20th Place: SERBIA/Nevena Bozović-Kruna (Real Placing: 18th-89 points) (Before the show: 26th place)

STUNNING!!!! Her voice is so good, the staging is beautiful, this is amazing and also she delivers a lot on stage, I missed a good Balkan ballad in the contest, I love the spiral and the smoke with the vents, everything here works perfectly.

21st Place: DENMARK/Leonora-Love is forever (Real Placing: 12th-120 points) (Before the show: 19th place)

Again a very lovely song that I can’t resist to, even if it fell in my top I’ll always like this song, and I was so surprised when this qualified, the performance remained simple and yeah, she sounds great.

22nd Place: SAN MARINO/Serhat-Say na na na (Real Placing: 19th-77 points) (Before the show: 20th place)

San Marino again in the final!!!!! How amazing, and this song will always have a regard for me, even if Serhat wasn’t so good live, this song is catchy, and it makes me happy, i’m so happy for them!!!!

23rd Place: LATVIA/Carousel-That night (Real Placing: 15th-50 points) (Before the show: 22nd place)

Awww this song is lovely, the performance was so intimate and her voice is stunning, also the music is calm and this give me chills, a very guilty pleasure this year.

24th Place: BELGIUM/Eliot-Wake up (Real Placing: 13th SF1-70 points) (Before the show: 21st place)

Another one of the disappointments this year, I was expecting so much more of this one, and the performance was so dull, the outfit, the drums and overall everything was so poor, also he was so nervous, again Belgium, you did it, you crushed my dreams.

25th Place: CYPRUS/Tamta-Replay (Real Placing: 13th-109 points) (Before the show: 12th place)

WHAT’S WITH HER VOCALS AND THIS PERFORMANCE, everything was a big letdown for me and I felt so uncomfortable with her vocals, they weren’t good, at least Eleni slayed her vocals last year but this... is... so disappointing.

26th Place: HUNGARY/Joci Pápai-Az én apám (Real Placing: 12th SF1-97 points) (Before the show: 24th place)

One of the biggest shocks to me is Hungary not qualifying with this beautiful song, the staging was very simple but good and his voice is perfect, so... I’ll never understand why this didn’t qualify.

27th Place: ARMENIA/Srbuk-Walking out (Real Placing: 16th SF2-49 points) (Before the show: 13th place)

What a sad sad performance, this was so empty and she was very nervous, also the running order killed this song, I was expecting so much more and AGAIN THIS IS ARMENIA’S WORST RESULT WHY???

28th Place: ROMANIA/Ester Peony-On a Sunday (Real Placing: 13th SF2-71 points) (Before the show: 27th place)

ARE YOU KIDDING THAT THIS IS ROMANIA’S WORST RESULT???? THIS IS UNFAIR, this song is very very good, and the performance was perfect and flawless, also her voice was on point and... why this didn’t qualify.

29th Place: FRANCE/Bilal Hassani-Roi (Real Placing: 16th-105 points) (Real Placing: 34th place)

A very big leap, even if I don’t dislike the song as much as I did on January, I still think this isn’t special enough, the music is quite generic and Bilal’s vocals are still bad even with the lower key, still the message is very powerful to me and I love the performance.

30th Place: IRELAND/Sarah McTernan-22 (Real Placing: 18th SF2-16 points/last) (Before the show: 29th place)

Oh Ireland, you knew your fate and you tried to save you, but in the end you finished in last place and with a lovely song, pleasant song but sadly this wasn’t going anywhere.

31st Place: BELARUS/ZENA-Like it (Real Placing: 24th-31 points) (Before the show: 25th place)

A very very very suprising qualifier and I was happy, but now I realize I don’t like the live performance and the staging, she sings nice but still everything seems out of place for this song, this was better on studio and in the NF.

32nd Place: MOLDOVA/Anna Odobescu-Stay (Real Placing: 12th SF2-85 points) (Before the show: 31st place)

Whoa Ukraine 2011 2.0 Electric Boogaloo, as I said many times before, I like this song but it’s there, they tried to lift it up and it was a bit ridiculous, also her voice wasn’t on point here.

33rd Place: GEORGIA/Oto Nemsadze-Keep on going (Real Placing: 14th SF1-62 points) (Before the show: 41st place)

This is what I call a revival, the staging was so powerful and his voice here sounds great, even if the song isn’t still my cup of tea, I must admit it has a good message and you can feel it.

34th Place: UNITED KINGDOM/Michael Rice-Bigger than us (Real Placing: 26th-13 points/last) (Before the show: 33rd place)

Poor Michael, another case of a good singer with a mediocre song, and it paid off in the results, another last place for the UK, surely his voice was good but it was so plain... nothing remarkable about it. Never do a two artists-one song NF.

35th Place: CROATIA/Roko-The dream (Real Placing: 14th SF2-64 points) (Before the show: 40th place)

The fact this song rose it’s because the other ones fell a lot. This is way cheesier than a pizza, the angel wings... I thought they would get rid of them, again his voice is good but I can’t stand this song.

36th Place: LITHUANIA/Jurij Veklenko-Run with the lions (Real Placing: 11th SF2-93 points) (Before the show: 32nd place)

Poor Jurij, a victim of the juries mistakes... Anyway this song is pleasant but it’s a bit forgettable, also with the staging I was expecting so much more, his voice is perfect and he’s charming, but he deserved a better song.

37th Place: ESTONIA/Victor Crone-Storm (Real Placing: 20th-76 points) (Before the show: 35th place)

Wow I never thought this would finish so low in my top, my biggest problem here is his voice, in the final he was better but it was a big shock for me when it qualified.

38th Place: MONTENEGRO/D Mol-Heaven (Real Placing: 16th SF1-46 points) (Before the show: 38th place)

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL ON STAGE, oh wait, uhhhhh... yeah... this song is... here... and yeah, FALLIN. There’s nothing else to say about this.

39th Place: FINLAND/Darude ft. Sebastian Rejman-Look away (Real Placing: 17th SF1-23 points/last) (Before the show: 30th place)

The person that decided the staging needs to be fired, everything was so out of place here, also sadly this became a sad EDM song because of the key, and Sebastian wasn’t very good, also what’s with the boots.

40th Place: AUSTRIA/PÆNDA-Limits (Real Placing: 17th SF2-21 points) (Before the show: 37th place)

The only remarkable thing of this song is the performance, is stunning, but the song is very flat, nothing special tbh. Lovely staging though.

41st Place: GERMANY/S!sters-Sister (Real Placing: 25th-24 points) (Before the shows top: 39th place)

If a song begins with a glockenspiel and the words “I’m tired” you can’t expect so much, the performance was so boring, the song is dull and this is just there, nothing special and Germany, did you miss being bottom 5? You had a lot of better songs in Unser Lied, I’m sorry, sorry for the drama.
