MCU Eternals Romantic!Ikaris X Reader & Platonic!Druig X Reader AU Idea (AKA my ADHD/Neurodivergent brain is whipping my butt)

Ok so, I'm just going to spare y'all the misery and brain spiral I put both @valeskafics & @its-actually-minicika through, and give the most recent one. This is a really long post as it will go into a lot of detail about the character's personality and her interactions with other characters. Please read through it, and if you hate the idea. Don't be a jerk! Just move on, and ignore this post! But if this is something that you think would be interesting to read: like it and/or let me know in the comments, or send it to a friend you think will find this idea interesting!

So it goes without saying that the MCU Eternals' fandom has unanimously agreed that Druig is best boi/edgelord, and I have no disagreements with that. Hell I basically live on Tumblr's 'druig x reader' tag. BUT I too thirst after Ikaris (AKA Not-Mother's-Favorite)...look, it's Richard Madden, I'm only human.

If you are one of the maybe 10 followers I have, you will know that I am already writing 2 other fics (a Robb Stark x Yi Tish!OC, and an Ikaris X Water Elemental!Reader). But if you read this post's title...you will see that my ADHD brain refuses to listen to reason...and since starting to write fanfiction...it has only gone into overdrive. You will also know that I love drawing inspiration from mythology...and dragons but that's another discussion.

BACK TO THE POINT! So I have seen a lot of Nature Eternal!Reader x Druig fics, and I love all of them. But I read @spacetalbot's Druig x Reader x Ikaris fic where the reader is basically Persephone, AND @winterlves's Ikaris x reader fic where the reader is Thor and Loki's sister who controls nature. Needless to say...I became obsessed.

Basically, I wanted to explore the idea of an Eternal!Reader whose powers are like Persephone (Chlorokinesis, Geokinesis, Fertility Manipulation, etc.). And while Druig is like Hades, he serves more as this reader's overprotective older brother/guardian. Instead, her main love interest in this idea will be Ikaris.

Druig and Hades actually share a good amount of similarities to each other. Both are mostly disliked/not popular amongst the Pantheon/Eternals and humanity, both are secluded to their own domain/community, both are much more somber compared to their family members, and the list can go on. But the reason I wanted to use Ikaris as the main love interest is mostly to due with his attitude towards humanity and how he interacts with them. While life goes on for everyone else, it just sort of "stops" for him. He doesn't really make any effort to connect with them outside of being with Sersi, and when he leaves her, we don't see any further attempts. And this is where Persephone!Eternal kind of comes in.

Now, unlike my other Oc's/Reader fics, I actively plan on writing this reader to show neurotypical symptoms. For example, she will show signs of having trouble emotionally connecting/socially interacting with others. Her mind will wander in meetings and need a nudge to focus back. She might unintentionally put off someone by how she phrases her question/response. She will prefer to study the differing flora and fauna in the places they visit than interact with people. While she does hold some love and affection towards them, she knows that it's not her the humans love, but rather what she can provide for them. This last part is kind of what lays the foundation to Ikaris' and the Reader's connection.

One scene I intend to write that really shows how Persephone!Eternal's mind works is how she interacts with Phastos when he describes the steam engine to Ajak. Personally, I headcanon that Druig likes to be around when Phastos is inventing something, but more just to be his annoying little brother. Persephone!Reader is not at all tech-savvy, but it's how Phastos' thinks of his ideas that fascinates her. What materials would be needed to build it? Does the materials need to be first sourced by humans? Is the conversion of high pressure to low pressure like when an area with a lot of water flowing into an area with low amount of water? If I decide to write Ikaris seeing this, it will make him notice how Persephone!Reader's mind definitely works differently than his. As normally, he wouldn't question Phastos, just accept it and move on. But he would notice how you are the only one to really connect with him by how you don't outwardly mock him like Kingo or Sprite, and by being the only Eternal to act genuinely interested despite not technologically inclined.

Another scene would be how Persephone!Reader was supposed to be attending a feast for the harvest, and so Ajak sends Ikaris to look for her. He finds her in a secluded area of a forest, and with a cow and her calf. He is confused and so Reader explains that she noticed that the cow had been eating much more lately and been much more tired and unable to work. She overheard the humans wanting to kill it, but then she noticed that the cow was in fact pregnant. So while the feast was busy, she snuck away and made an area so that the cow could safely give birth in peace. Ikaris would notice that Persephone!Reader is smiling and much more at peace alone, than in a crowded area with tons of laughter and noise. You are worried that Ajak will find out and make you not see the animals anymore, but Ikaris promises you that he will keep your secret, and that he will just tell her that you weren't feeling well. This furthers your connection.

Another one is where there had been a big dispute amongst the humans, and some people are severely hurt. Druig and Ikaris get into a fight about it since it was under Ikaris' order that Druig not engage. Ikaris is impassive and stern and Druig calls him a coward. Persephone!Reader is seeing the fight and asks Ikaris why he wouldn't let Druig stop it, if he can do it, why not let him? Ikaris retorts stating that it isn't their place to settle their disputes, to which Reader states that he should care about the humans, and not be so cruel. Ikaris gets angry and tells reader that it is not his job to justify his reasonings to Druig or anyone else, much less her. So he storms away. A few hours pass, and Ikaris hasn't been seen by anyone, not even Ajak or Sersi. Reader finds him in a hidden area and notices that his face is very tired looking. Reader realizes that she has made a big misjudgement on her part in saying that Ikaris doesn't care, and is very careful in saying she is sorry. Ikaris is still upset and tells her to go away. But Reader just stands there and doesn't move, refusing to leave him alone. She eventually gives him a hug stating that she was wrong and she was sorry, and that she should have known better. This comforts him a lot as he allows the hug. Reader also makes him a wreath of flowers of her appreciation of him as her leader, but mostly as her friend.

I got a ton of scenes planned, so like and/or comment of what you think!

Sheet lightning crackles high above the small city, bathing the evening sky in bright flashes of light. The thunder that accompanies it sounds remarkably similar to the sound of the shots that were being fired mere moments ago. It’s almost completely drowned out by the heavy rain striking the earth and concrete, what started as a gentle pitter patter of droplets now a raging downpour. It was already difficult to see with so few lights, and the intensity of the deluge makes night vision equipment unusable.

Kat sprints through the streets of the small town as she heads toward the rendezvous she’d been given by Price. With luck, she would be able to meet up with Soap and the two of them would together retreat to the truck waiting for them. With the intel they’d been sent to retrieve firmly in hand, the mission is complete and as soon as they’re away they’ll be able to begin decoding the data.

It had been a simply in-and-out mission, with Price and Gaz watching the town from a hill in the near distance and Ghost and Soap circling the building Kat had been tasked with stealthily infiltrating. All was going well until a couple of guards blocked her entrance. Unable to avoid them and not wanting to fight her way out, Kat had requested a distraction – one that Ghost and Soap were more than happy to provide – and then continued to exit the same way she entered, now that the guards had moved to investigate what was causing their companions trouble.

Now, she’s almost reached where the sergeant was supposed to be taking down the last couple of guards who had come to investigate the disturbance. The ground is no longer dirt, rather a road paved with brick that, coupled with the rain, makes for a rather slippery surface. It’s lucky that Kat has always had remarkable balance, otherwise she likely would’ve face planted in one of the puddles by now.

She skids around a corner just as a flash of lightning across the sky creates a large shadow against one of the walls. It’s automatic for her to immediately crouch low to the ground, practically diving behind a nearby car for cover. She can’t quite tell who is wandering the street, so she shifts into the body of a ginger feline and darts under the vehicle, datastick held firmly within her teeth.

It occurs to her that she probably should have just asked for Soap’s current location via comms, but her instincts haven’t failed her yet, and if they tell her to hide then she hides.

The figure is moving like something out of a horror movie, closer and closer with each flash of lightning, yet still almost completely obscured by the heavy rain. Kat hears what she thinks is the rumbling of thunder, only to realize belatedly that the sound is coming from the figure before her. A low, dangerous growl loud enough to rival the sound of Thor himself.

Kat can feel her heart racing, breath coming out in quick, shallow pants as the creature slowly stalks further toward her.

The rain that strikes the figure sizzles, before evaporating from the heat it encounters, creating a thick barrier of steam reminiscent of dense fog. Even the very ground is drying out beneath the man’s footsteps and, logically, Kat knows it must be Soap, only he runs that hot. But a shiver runs down her spine at the sight of the half-transformed hellhound lumbering ever nearer.

He’s closer now, and Kat can see the way his jaw is hanging open, taking in deep breaths of air and displaying the sharp canines now adorning his mouth. Large ears swivel around and bright eyes that burn with the intensity of hellfire scan the street.

Kat has never been afraid of another non-human before, but this fear is something deep, something primal that screams danger. She should be afraid of this creature, she should be running from him and hiding as far away as possible. The sound of the storm is drowned out by the rushing of blood in her ears, and Kat knows her fur would be standing on end if she weren’t completely soaked.

Soap sniffs at the air, tongue darting out to flick across his lips while his echoing growl continues without faulter. He stands still for what feels like hours, only foot away from the car Kat is hiding under.

Eventually, he moves on, continuing his scan of the streets, searching out other potential threats and for Kat herself. But Kat has no intention of being found by him. It’s stupid, dangerous, to run the streets alone, but the simple thought of being spotted by Soap has Kat’s chest clenching with painful anxiety. She’s seen him fight plenty of times before, showing off his raw strength and animal prowess, but this feels different.

Once Soap is out of sight, Kat can finally breathe again, momentarily collapsing against the ground as she attempts to calm her racing heart.

She needs to meet up with the rest of the squad and, forcing herself to leave the relative safety of the car, shifts back into her favored human form. She starts running again, weaving in and out of the alleyways with ease. There are a few times she’s forced to stop, checking her surroundings for potential danger, but she still manages to reach Ghost in record time.

Price and Gaz have already arrived at the meeting point, but Ghost is the first to spot Kat, ever vigilant. “Kat, where’s Johnny?” he asks, almost shouting just to be heard over the water.

“I’m not sure, I didn’t see him on my way here-” she starts, but is interrupted by another shout from Ghost.

“You were supposed to meet up with him before coming here,” he reminds her, his mood seemingly as damp as the weather. Price is on the comm system, telling Soap to meet them for exfil, but Ghost isn’t done just yet, “you’re on a team now, act like it, sergeant.”

A mixture of guilt and shame washes over Kat, but there’s little she can do now to rectify the situation. “Sorry, sir. I wanted to make sure the intel got back here in one piece first.” It’s a lie, and judging by the long stretch of silence that follows, Ghost knows it. But he doesn’t have the chance to comment on it, because Price calls out to Soap who is just rounding a corner and now in view.

He looks completely normal again, not the slightest hint of hellhound to be found, instead rocking his usual grin. It’s both a relieving and shaming at the same time. They’re supposed to be a team, they’re supposed to trust each other to watch one another’s backs.

This fear, while not entirely irrational, needs to be conquered and fast.

The group loads up quickly and set off for a safe house where the data can be properly processed, and while Kat would normally be glad the mission is over for the time being, she knows there’s trouble brewing. Ghost hasn’t said another word about her behavior, but even in the darkness of the truck she can tell he’s watching her closely.

She isn’t looking forward to what he has to say.

I've been working on SO MANY stories for a while now (plot bunnies drag me around from one to the next, through new stories, while I still work slowly on my current Ao3 fics), but decided to post a little here about everything (story wise) that's been going on with the fics being mainly worked on!

MCU - No Title yet, but is going to be an absolute TITAN of a story and series spanning from around 2007 pre-Iron Man 1 to Secret Invasion, with a lot of changes and a lot of additions (including Timeline event changes, Infinity War being an actual 3 to 4 month long war instead of 24hrs, PIETRO SURVIVES without Clint and the kid dying, Ultron is gonna be a far more badass boss fight with a moment of Avengers going "...Why do I hear boss music?", a handful of characters are going to be added to spice things up) and so much more! OC is gonna be Nat's kid via Red Room science (made in a lab) which will go over more in the fic (also other DNA is Yelena's, however there will be ZERO Nat x Yelena here. it will be Platonic "this is my child so i will cut a bitch if anyone hurts them" sort of parental situation. Yelena tends to be Aro/Ace in my fics being written, majority of the time, though there is an idea for an Ace!Yelena and Kate fic i have in mind, but that's for another story) - (OC -intersex afab- x Wanda Maximoff, and a lot of background pairings) - Inspired by "Smells Like Teen Spirit" version by Malia J, "Set It All Free" sang by Scarlett Johansson, and "Can't Help Falling in Love" version by Haley Reinhart

MCU - No Title Yet, a possible series of oneshots jumping around of Venom!NonBinary!Reader, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop platonic besties spreading some chaos and even possibly accidentally helping couples get together - (Background Wanda x Natasha, Pietro x Steve, Sam x Bucky, Tony x Pepper, Carol x Maria Rambeau, Peter Parker x MJ, Maria Hill x Sif, Thor x Jane) - Inspired by "Oath" by Cher Lloyd ft Becky G, "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga, and "Raise Your Glass" by P!nk

MCU - Waking Wanda - a Dark started story intro that leads to OC being reborn as Wanda Maximoff (though doesn't get flashes of memories until a young child of around 5ish and it's only enough to sort of let me give a reason for character changes Wanda will have, also no "MCU knowledge"). Story will toe the line with Dark status every so often (Wanda has very little problem being an Antihero right off the bat when around Teenage and that carries on as she ages, and has no problem literally killing to protect, more so when it comes to protecting Pietro). Sort of a test story for Darker writings, but ultimately will have a happy ending because i'm a sucker for happy endings. Technically the OC is just a placebo spark for me to change Wanda up a little for a story idea, and the OC stuff itself means very little beyond those "sparks" to induce change which will butterfly effect over time. (Wanda Maximoff x Natasha Romanoff, with background Pietro x Sam, Steve x Bucky, etc, etc) - Story was inspired by "Vicious" by Halestorm, and "Sweet but Psycho" by Ava Max

MCU - No Title Yet, and a smaller fic (and closer to the MCU timeline of stuff, though still plenty of changes and yes, Pietro lives along with Clint and the kid here, too). Will also toe the line with Darker stuff like Waking Wanda will (i'm very fond of writing antiheroes lately...), and OC will have Animal Shapeshifting powers. OC is also a brother to Wanda and Pietro via triplets instead of twins. - (TransMale!OC x Natasha Romanoff, with background Wanda x Darcy and Pietro x Monica) - Story was inspired by "Insane" by Black Gryph0n and Baasik, and "Wrong Side of Heaven" by Five Finger Death Punch

MCU - No Title Yet, this story will be a fic that doesn't heavily dip into fighting battles at first like the other stories, and instead will be set where Reader will end up in the MCU and steps in where possible (healing ability and also has wings, though you can hide them into a scar on your back) to try to encourage change to bring a bit less pain and suffering to our Avengers. Wanda and Natasha end up dating Reader (triad poly) during Civil War era (bigger changes here, and yes, Reader saves Pietro, there is deff a pattern here for me, i think) after Reader sort of gets pulled in via sticking around after Lagos to heal any wounded (Wanda yeets Rumlow a little more viciously so it clears it just enough to only cause a little bit of roof damage) - Wanda x Natasha x Female Reader - Inspired by "If Today Was Your Last Day" by Nickelback, and "Soldier" by Gavin DeGraw

MCU - No Title Yet, possibly a small series of oneshots about Wanda and Reader being a Soft!Couple, but also has Wanda and Vision being besties, and Reader and Natasha being besties. Literally just a "feel good" series - Wanda x Female Reader (Reader and Nat being Platonic besties, while Wanda and Vision being Platonic besties) - Inspired by "You and Me" by Plain White T's, and "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves

MCU - No Title Yet, set after Endgame. Natasha comes back via Steve's stone exchange, but she's not really healed from it. Scars, recovering from broken bones, and honestly feels lost. While Clint is dealing with Kate stuff (Yelena goes to help him at Natasha's request, and because she's become fond of him like an older brother as well), Natasha meets Southern!Reader who is a friend of Laura's, visiting from Texas (was also a Marine). Reader and Natasha are a bit awkward at first (Natasha because she's still recovering and unsteady from retiring, thus not really sure what she wants to do now, and Reader due to just being a shy awkward person who still doesn't really understand how people "people"). The two end up helping each other. Natasha helping Reader with moments of night terrors spawned from PTSD of war/battles against other humans and other skirmishes with Thanos' army during the blip era. Reader helps Natasha stop pushing herself so hard during her recovery (physical and mental), and start to stop and just breathe, along with the fear of a truly unknown future. - Natasha x Autistic!Female Reader - Inspired by "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" sang by Scarlet Johansson, "Rise Up" by Andra Day, "Shatter Me" by Lindsey Stirling ft Lzzy Hale, and "All I Know So Far" by P!nk

MCU - No Title Yet. IM SO WEAK for Vera Farminga that it's unreal (dare i say Wanda Maximoff levels)?! That held my existence hostage and spawned this one here, of Eleanor Bishop x Reader. Reader is gonna be Wanda and Pietro's slightly older sibling (Marvel can pry Pietro's survival from my cold, dead hands) and has powers much like Magneto of the X-Men movies, but also cannot be harmed by metal objects, and has a resistance (read: resistance, not immunity) to more extreme cold and hot temperatures, as well as the abilities extending to Vibranium.

Conjuring Universe - No Title Yet. read above about weakness, RIP. Anyway, Reader will be Ed's sister who portrays a masculine build/clothing (and yes, binder! inc history research of binders and what was common and uncommon in that time era). Will happen around the main 3 Conjuring movies, as well as dabbling in The Nun 2 post credits scene (and extended), and the Curse of La Llorona getting a lil bit of a rewrite.

A/N- This is my first imagine so please be patient, I am trying my best but I've only ever written full stories or Incorrect Quotes. But there is a first for everything, right?

All the Avengers excluding Celia and Peter Parker were in the lounge area, talking when suddenly music started blaring from the floor above them. Tony knew what was going on and leaned back in his chair with a hand over his face and a roll of his eyes. Noticing this, Stephen Strange, cocked an eyebrow curiously over at the Genuis, Billionaire, Playboy, who simply huffed before answering. "I tried sending Celia and Peter to bed." He spoke, answering vaguely much to the Teams annoyance. As the music continued to blare, muffled voices can be heard in the room directly above them, which happened to be the Twins room. Tony tried giving them separate rooms but the twins always ended up in the same room. After interrogating them, Tony came upon the answer of which they've shared a room since they moved in with their Aunt and Uncle, and of which after having their Uncle shot right in front of their faces, they find comfort in each other to make the nightmares go away. Tony understood completely where they were coming from and ended up combining two of the rooms to make one big one by knocking down the wall in between the once separate rooms.

Upon further listening, the team realized that the song playing was Sweet Caroline from Neil Diamond and of course, their curiosity gets the best of them. One by one, the team went to the floor above them to listen better. Once everyone, including Tony, was upstairs, listening at the end of the hallway, by the elevator, they do admit, that it was worth coming upstairs. As soon as Tony, the last person to come upstairs, set foot on the floor, all they heard was Celia and Peter singing, "Sweet Caroline! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Steve was absolutely and utterly horrified at the young kids language, while Nat, Loki, and Bucky were smirking. Tony just huffed in annoyance, mouthing "Every. Night." Sam and Wanda were smiling trying to bite back their laughter. Stephen Strange and Thor's eyes were sparkling in amusement, with a slight lift of the corners of their mouths. Bruce and Clint were gaping in pure shock at never hearing such foul language from the two babies of the team, Pietro was silently howling in laughter and Vision was off to the side wondering what the hell was going on.

Upon coming back to the lounge, all they heard was a sound of glass shattering. Suddenly, FRIDAY spoke up. "Miss and Mr. Parker wish to apologize for breaking a lamp in their room. They promise to at least try and be careful next time." FRIDAY had said. "But they can't promise it won't happen again." FRIDAY had quickly added. The Avengers apart from Tony laughed at Tony's disgruntled expression. "Their lucky I love them." Tony muttered with a sigh before plopping back down on his armchair. The rest of the team shared a laugh before going back to their original seats just like Tony had done, while upstairs, Peter and Celia were in their assigned beds, letting each others sound of breathing and heart thumping inside the others chest, lull them to sleep, knowing that their other half and best friend were safe.

Summary: The morning after. Marc and Sigyn have #noregrets, but they do have some things to answer for...

A/N: THANK YOU again to everyone who’s read and supported! Can’t believe we’re wrapping this beast of a fic up! Though of course I have a few more plot bunnies thumping around in this silly little head of mine for Moon Knight...

It was nearing midday when Thor trudged down the hotel corridor. His battle-weary appearance – blood smeared across his face, cape torn and singed, ash and dirt clinging to his hair – was incredibly out of place amongst the pristine hallway he lumbered down.

Yelena and the rest of S.W.O.R.D. weren’t far behind him. He’d arrived back first, opting to use the Bifrost to travel back to London instead their ship. Thor needed the space. It wasn’t often the god felt defeated, and he feared if his comrades noticed just how despondent the previous night’s battle had left him, the whole team would lose morale. Gorr was much more slippery than they realized, which meant he was all that more deadly. They were outmatched on Contraxia. It frightened Thor. Heavy is the hand that carries the ax.

Thor was genuinely looking forward to seeing his sister however. He wanted nothing more than to take a long, hot shower, order a feast’s worth of room service, and watch the show about the Midgardian island of love with Sigyn that they’d grown shamefully fond of.

The door guards ushered the Asgardian in without hesitation. Thor wasn’t sure what he had been expecting when he entered the suite, perhaps Marc asleep on the couch or he and Sigyn eating a late breakfast, but the god’s heart dropped when he found the living space quiet and deserted.

“Seeg?” he called. When there was no response, he tried “Marc?”

Nothing from either of them. Thor brushed it off, they must be sleeping in!

He checked the suite’s smaller bedroom first, the one assigned to Marc. Empty. Not only was Marc missing, the bed was still made up, clearly never touched over the course of the evening. Indignant rage and cold fear competed for Thor’s attention. That puny Midgardian shit. Where had he gone? Surely Marc wouldn’t have abandoned Sigyn?

Sigyn. Before the god’s anger could consume him any further, he raced down the hall to the principal bedroom. They must’ve escaped, he assumed. A worse thought pushed into his mind on the heels of the last, what if they were taken? Though he hadn’t met this version of Loki, he knew no incarnation of his brother would let his supposed bride be absent from his side for long.

“SIGYN!?” Thor bellowed as he threw the bedroom door open, startling the lump in the bed from slumber.

“In the name of Valhalla, what is it?!” Sigyn hollered back.

Yet the sight before him rendered Thor speechless. Sigyn and Marc were safely in the suite alright, naked in bed together. Both lovers had bolted upright in the bed when Thor intruded. Sigyn clasped the sheets to her bust to preserve some sense of modesty while Marc brooded bare-chested next to her.

She turned to her bedmate, searching his face, and murmured something Thor couldn’t quite make out. Marc replied back just as lowly, his response causing Sigyn to relax somewhat and whisper “good.”

“I um…I just wanted to make sure you were here,” Thor told them with all the nonchalance he could muster. It wasn’t much.

“Brother, would you give Marc and I a moment?” the princess asked.

“I can leave,” Marc volunteered before Thor could respond, moving toward the edge of the mattress.

“No,” Sigyn objected. The softness and need in her words didn't go unnoticed by her brother.

“Your highness, could you?” Marc gestured to his exposed skin.

Whereas before Sigyn had required Marc to call her by her title, now its use stung her with its cold formality. Nevertheless, Sigyn conjured a similar set of pajamas onto Marc’s body as she did for Steven.

Thor stopped him when the Midgardian tried to pass him to the door. “I wager you’re not stupid enough to leave these rooms before I speak to you?”

Marc nodded and the god allowed him to leave, closing the door behind him.

A heavy, anticipatory silence transpired between the two Asgardians. For the first time, Sigyn observed how disheveled her brother appeared. The mission couldn’t have gone well. Thor would be ornery which meant she had to get the first word in. She straightened, trying to seem as imperious as possible with her messy hair and lack of clothing.

“Brother, you more than anyone cannot judge me for laying with a Midgardian.”

“That may be so, but he was your guard,” Thor began pacing. “Which alters did you sleep with?”

“All of them.”

“All of them?! By the Norns Sigyn!” the god exclaimed. Deep down, he was impressed at his sister’s stamina, but concealed it.

“What did you think would happen?” She shot back. “You’re the one who enlisted the devastatingly handsome, recently divorced man to watch me and then left us alone!”

Thor pinched the bridge of his nose. Tried to calm himself.

“I thought you’d be pleased that I didn’t leave the hotel.”

He summoned some of the breathing techniques from the meditation applications Bruce had shown him, but like always, they only made him angrier.

“You mustn’t be cross with me,” Sigyn argued, “You’ve locked me away–”

“I’m not cross with you,” Thor cut her off. “I’m exhausted, and frustrated, and smell like a bilgesnipe that bathed itself in mud.”

“I can smell you from here,” she attested. “I do apologize however. I’d planned to be decent by the time you returned and overslept.”

“I’m sorry I freaked out,” he admitted. “I was afraid you’d left.”

“Have the rest of your compatriots returned?” Sigyn asked, concerned by what Marc was potentially walking into outside of the bedroom.

“No, thank the Norns,” Despite his hellacious B.O., Thor leaned Stormbreaker against the wall, and sat on the edge of the bed closer to his sister. “It was a disaster, as I’m sure you can tell.”

“I’m sorry,” the princess swallowed the remark she wanted to make about bringing her along and increasing their chances for victory. Instead she inquired, “Was he there?”

“No,” Thor knew she was asking about Loki. “They’ve divided and conquered it seems.”

Another pregnant lull ensued.

“Did you um, enjoy yourself at least?”

“Thor!” Sigyn tossed a pillow at him. “But yes, if you must know.”

“Was that the first time you…since–”

“Thor,” Sigyn interrupted before he could say her estranged husband’s name.

“What?! You promised we wouldn’t keep secrets!”

The dynamic between the two gods was unexpectedly endearing, Marc contemplated on the other side of the door while he eavesdropped.

We shouldn’t be doing this, Steven admonished, they’re having a private conversation.

Jake jumped in the headspace so Marc wouldn’t have to reply verbally. Too bad hombre, this Gorr and Loki shit concerns us. Besides, she just said she enjoyed herself, don’t you want to hear what else she has to say about us?

Steven harrumphed but quieted down. He did want to know if she’d mention him to Thor. He didn’t have to wait long to get his wish.

“So what do you think?” Thor queried. “What’s the other alter like?

“Steven is much warmer than Marc,” Sigyn divulged. “He’s open and trusting, and I sense that he’ll fight to his last breath if he believes in what he’s fighting for. Which is advantageous for us.”

“Then we recruit them,” Thor concluded. A pause, then the god followed up with “Why not?”

“Because there’s a third.”

“You had a threesome?”

“NORNS, Thor! No!!” Marc heard the distinct thump of another projectile pillow. “Marc has a second alter he neglected to tell us about.”

Shit, the system swore in unison. They’d let their guard down and she’d ratted them out. Fucking Sigyn and her fucking sparkling eyes and fucking perky tits and fucking juicy pussy and fucking plump ass. Of course the wife of the god of mischief would have ulterior motives.

Sigyn continued. “His name is Jake. If Marc is cold and Steven is warm, Jake is fire. He’s the most ruthless in battle I suspect.”

“I don’t see a problem, Seeg.”

“Brother, not only did Marc keep his existence from us, Jake professes to be Khonshu’s favorite. I know you’re desperate to–”

“I’m not desperate–”

“I know you’re keen,” Sigyn amended, “to rebuild the Avengers but we can’t trust them. Not until we know their true intentions, let alone Khonshu’s.”

The god hummed as he mulled over her words. “I trust you, sister, and if you don’t believe we can rely on them, especially after you–” Marc assumed Thor paused to gesticulate the word “fucked” instead of saying it “--with all of them, I take your word.”

“Thank you, brother. Now please, I beg you, go take a shower.”

Thor laughed, a quick, booming guffaw, then stood. The sound of his heavy footsteps sent Marc backpedaling to the living room so as not to be caught. He pretended to be fascinated with the bland hotel art.

“You and Sigyn had quite the night, huh?” Thor stood a few feet behind him.

Marc crossed to the Asgardian and played dumb. “Look I don’t know what she told you, but it just sort of happened. It was unprofessional as hell, but I swear I didn’t make her–”

Thor held a hand up to stop him with a chuckle. “Oh believe me, I know you didn’t. You can’t make Sigyn do anything as far as I’ve seen.”

Marc cocked his head in silent agreement. “Rough night?”

“I wish I had better news for you to bring Khonshu, but Gorr is a man possessed,” Thor recounted. “Literally. He has the Necrosword and it’s corrupting him. We’ll stop him though, no matter what.”

“You know I have a lot more skills than babysitting a goddess,” Marc began.

“Clearly.”

Marc let out an irritated sigh. “That’s not what I meant. I can help, and so can your sister.”

Thor grinned “I see she worked her magic on you.”

Again, Marc faltered.

“I hear you, Marc Spector,” Thor told him, “and I’ll consider it.”

“Thank you, Thor.”

“And for the record, I’m not angry you bedded my sister, but I will be angry if you don’t go back in there and tend to her. Very poor bedside manner back there.”

The god motioned with his hand for Marc to leave. He didn’t usually let others tell him what to do, but the Asgardian had six inches on him, plus an ax the size of his head in his hand. He headed back toward the bedroom but Thor stopped him with a call of his name.

“Now I know you’re both adults, and you’re entitled to your privacy…but if you ever abandon or hurt my sister I will tear you limb from limb and feed you to the most heinous beast I can find.”

“Wouldn’t expect anything less.”

He knocked on Sigyn’s door.

“Who is it?”

“It’s Marc.”

The door swung open on its own. Marc stepped through just as Sigyn emerged from the en-suite refreshed and clothed in her black robe again.

“Did Thor threaten you?”

“Yeah, standard stuff,” he shrugged.

Sigyn shook her head with a little annoyed huff, then refocused back on Marc. “Hi.”

“Hi.”

She was sheepish. “I’m presuming that you could see what happened last night after we made love?”

“Yeah.”

She nodded. “Are you angry?”

“Not about that.”

Her brow creased with concern. “Then what about?”

“Why did you tell your brother about Jake? That we shouldn’t join the Avengers and the effort to stop Gorr? What is it, you think I’m crazy? A fun fuck to tell your brother about?”

Sigyn rushed to his side, genuinely hurt. “Marc, no.” She tried to place her hands on his arm but he shook her off. “That’s not it at all.”

“Well what was it? Because that wasn’t your information to share.”

“You’re right, I shouldn't have,” Sigyn’s apology was instant and sincere. “I’m so sorry.”

“Why did you?”

“Because as much as I love my brother, though I’ve only known this rendition of him for barely a week, he’s aligned himself with incompetent fools. I didn’t want him to recruit you because I wanted us to go find the Godbutcher ourselves. S.W.O.R.D. will only slow us down,” she confessed. “Besides, you don’t strike me as one who works well in a team per se.”

Marc arched an eyebrow in amusement. “You’re right there.”

“Again, I’m terribly sorry Marc,” she reiterated. “I hope you, Steven, and Jake can forgive me.”

Marc was reluctant to accept her apology.

“I had a dream last night. About Loki. I believe I know where he is.”

“How do you know it wasn’t just a dream?” he followed up, still not convinced.

“Because the only thing Loki loved more than fucking me was to fuck with me,” she told him. “He’s likely watching me too, and furious I had such stellar sex with you.”

Marc cracked a smile at that. “It’s probably a trap.”

“That’s why I’d like you to come with me. He’s angry which means he’ll be sloppy. We could outsmart him.”

“Okay.”

“Really?!” Sigyn beamed. She threw herself into Marc’s arms and kissed him.

He let her. But she could feel he was still holding back, so when they broke apart she asked, “You’re still cross. What is it?”

“You let Jake do anal.”

A laugh bubbled out of Sigyn but she tamped down on it. The princess pressed herself into him, caressing his shoulders and biceps as she assuaged Marc, “That doesn’t mean I won’t let you.”

“Yeah?”

“Mmm I’d love it,” the princess purred as she grinded her hip against his growing erection.

He kissed her again, this time holding nothing back. “Fuck, you’re bad for business. You scramble my brain like an egg.”

Sigyn treated Marc to the open smile he’d grown to crave. “I’m rather fond of you too.”

There was something else on his mind. “I have a question. You and Thor never..”

“No!” Sigyn exclaimed. “He’s my brother.”

“In-law,” Marc pointed out. “And this Thor isn’t even that.”

“Even so, I assure you our relationship is nothing but familial,” she averred. “To be candid, I could always see and understand his appeal intellectually, but never actually felt it. It must have fed into my resentment toward my mother for trying to match my sister with him when I lacked the desire every other maiden seemed to possess in Asgard for the prince.”

“I see.” Marc believed that they weren’t romantically entwined, but couldn’t shake that the two were in cahoots on something that went beyond stopping Gorr.

He kept it himself for the time being, enjoying the view of Sigyn changing out of her robe into a simple dove gray dress.

“Now I have a question,” she announced, sitting on the arm of the chair Marc had taken a seat in.

“Shoot.”

“I didn’t take Steven’s virginity, did I?” Before Marc could reply she added, “Please tell me I didn’t.”

“You don’t want the honor of being his first?” Marc teased. Sigyn slapped his arm. “You’re safe.”

She sighed in relief.

“Were you afraid that you were?”

“Losing your virginity to a goddess sets a rather high bar, don’t you think?”

Now it was Marc’s turn to give her a playful shove, which resulted in Sigyn climbing into Marc’s lap.

“So what’s next?” He asked, searching her deep blue irises, ignoring his body’s urge to buck up into her.

“You’ll need to summon your avian master, I presume. We need to get to Knowhere.”

“Where?”

“It’s a moon, made up of the severed head of a Celestial,” Sigyn elucidated, extracting herself from Marc’s hold. “I saw Loki there in my dream. I recommend getting dressed.”

Marc smirked, the wrappings of the suit already encasing him. “Way ahead of you, your highness.”
