I have a hc for why Thor links pinkies as a sign of affection when it’s so subtle compared to his usual behavior. Because growing up he found out early what the consequences of being caught holding Loki’s hand were.

He quickly learned a small brush of fingers linked together was more easily hidden away from prying eyes. So that's what he gets used to. And he is so attuned to Loki even the grip of a finger can alert him to feelings of being anxious, scared, unsure. And with that solid physical connection to his brother he can convey a silent, "I'm here, you're not alone." With the squeeze of his little finger.

So of course Thor holds hands that way. It's the way he's done it for over a millennia.

I feel like Thor and Loki would communicate more genuinely with body language than words, and that they did it so often that no other than themselves understand what each gesture means.

I imagine that Loki’s pride held him back from ever venting or admitting something was wrong. He HATED opening up. And you know what he loathed even more? That he WANTED to open up to Thor.

That Thor was really the only being who’d sit and listen. He hated that Thor still stood by his side after everything, because at one point, he felt he no longer deserved that sacred sanctuary he felt himself enveloped in whenever Thor was around.

But even so, he wished he had the words to speak to him. So he was blessed with the very rare gift of having someone like Thor, who, despite his sheer bluntness, learned to understand him through the simplest of gestures; eye contact. Loki’s eyes always spoke more than his words. They weren’t always twinkling with that little mischievous gleam, not even if he tried to cover it up. Almost like his mouth was saying one thing, and his eyes tried to say another.

Loki needn’t say a word; one simple look? Boom.

They’d sit alone, in a comfortable silence. Loki would try and fumble for words, but his tongue fails him and he falls silent again. Thor would just smile knowingly and wrap an arm around his back. He’d give Loki the freedom of speaking, and knowing him well, it was rare for Loki to go ahead and spit it out. But Thor never pushed it. He knew Loki only spoke when he was comfortable enough, so he didn’t want to embarrass him away from it.

Instead, he acted casual. Just a little softer. Have a little conversation far from the subject.

Thor would sometimes secretly act exaggeratedly blunt or stupid, just to get a laugh or a sarcastic remark out of Loki. And as much as Loki did his best to seem irritated, in times like these, he was always resisting the urge to smile.

And you know what? In those few minutes, the bitter memories of their complex relationship would wither away with the wind.

Oh my...Getting asked about my headcanons in general always makes me blank out and be like

so I've been trying to think about them for the past day and they refused to resurface 🤦‍♀️

But here we go:

✵I love the idea of Thor having freckles all over his body. They are so light in winter that you can barely see them but when spring comes around they start getting more and more visible because of how much time he spends under the Asgardian (and not) sun, usually shirtless, either training or lazing around. Of course Loki is OBSESSED with them. He loves caressing them with both his fingers and lips, and every winter he can't wait for spring to come around again so they will decorate Thor's body along with his marks on him.

(and I just got a nice image of Thor walking through a field, barefoot and shirtless alla Billy Lee, just enjoying the warmth of the sun and indolently gathering flowers to later braid into Loki's dark hair ugh 😩)

✵Loki for all his smarts and wit and cleverness (yes they are all synonyms I know :p) can actually be really f obtuse sometimes. Exactly like Frigga said to him when he was in the prison in TDW. So one of my HCs is that he is incredibly slow on catching up with his actual feelings for Thor and thinks his obsession and jealousy is for other reasons than the Very Obvious (re: he's in super duper love). It takes him a long while to realise but when he does he's got this enormous *Oh.* moment. Meanwhile Thor has known he's been in love with him (and Loki with him) for years and has probably just been waiting for Loki to catch up because he knows Loki needs to come to his own conclusions at his own pace.

✵The above leads me to Thor being really f patient despite his energetic and enthusiastic character (golden retriever spotted!)—he's willing to wait for Loki for thousands of years if need be. On the other hand Loki had to *learn* patience. He gets a thought and wants to act on it? He needs to act on it *now*! But that doesn't work for mischief and it's the reason why his plans usually fail. He's got an especially short patience with Thor. He wants Thor? He wants him Right The F YESTERDAY! WHAT IS THOR EVEN DOING LOSING TIME INSTEAD OF PAYING ATTENTION TO HIM?? THE AUDACITY!

✵And last one (for now 👀) when they do settle down, tired of fighting for their lives and fighting each other, Thor is very pleased to live a quiet life, do stuff with his hands, build, create and, while Loki also feels good, he also needs to escape sometimes. And he does. Sometimes out of the blue, leaving no note, nothing behind him to indicate where he's gone. Thor knows that, understands that and accepts it, finally stopping to count the days for when Loki will return to him after each time. Loki is never away for long though because not having Thor feels like a part of his body is missing. He always returns home to Thor.

Brodinsons|Thorki HS Teachers AU

If HS teachers AU then thor would teach geography (as main), history and social/environmental studies and their AP courses.

Loki would teach english, chemistry and math and their AP courses. (He knows a bit of biology but not enough to teach).

Both of them know many languages but where Loki is intent on learning more, to defeat boredom and his idle mind, thor is content with a handful.

Thor would be a hands-on experience type of person so he'd go to the geographical locations of volcanoes, terrains, deserts, etc to see and feel their texture. He's adventurous so it's a double bonus. He loves the stars at night which is his favourite!

Loki tags along almost reluctantly, whining, unitl he finds something itching his curiosity. Even drags thor to dangerous enough places.

Loki does researches in his lab and has a unique way of identifying chemicals. He used to be a chemistry professor but he wanted more time and a break from uni stress so he turned to school teaching. He loves a tight schedule that doesn't suffocate him or involve bell curves.

Both brothers are soo fond of stars. Even more of sleeping under a dark sky. They've been doing that ever since they were children and still do it.

Thor wanted to fully devote himself to research but Odin pressured him into taking a job that would "pin him down" and not let him "merge with the earth". Thor also does guest lectures at colleges about his findings and on latest topics.

(In some rainforest like Kong: Skull island) Loki drags thor along to his latest reseraches, some rare toucan.

Thor whined, upset all they had to do was walk. He loves climbing and using his hands as extra feet. 'Such ape behaviour is only found in Thor-type species', Loki would comment.

Loki records thor on all fours, sniffing the rocks or doing some weird shit as he narrates in documentary commentator voice, "And to the left we can see a Thor in it's natural habitat." Once even, Loki threw money at Thor, yelling at him to eat the rock. "Lo, what the fuck!?", sneered his brother as he laughed.

"Are you famialir with the term self-preservation?", Thor said, over stepping a pool of goo, "You should try that sometime. I highly recommend it."

Only to get a counter of, "Says the guy who nearly killed me wanting to see a rock."

"Hey, that was [rare metal] and it was for research!"

"So is this."

Thor kept quiet for precisely 2: 34 minutes.

"Are you sure you didn't bring me here to be torn apart by a panther?"

"There are no panthers in his area, dumbass."

"Asshole."

"Fuck you."

"Fuck you times seven!"

Loki blew a raspberry at him.

Animal starts chasing them. Thor saves them by swinging from an aerous root because "if a 10 year old can do it, [he] can too." Damn Rudyard Kipling for giving thor such ideas!

(Later) the bros have set up a tent in a somewhat secluded place where Loki assured there would be no wild animals. Thor kneels over Loki to get the lamp and their eyes lock. Thor can't resist and leans in gently to brush his lips across his brother's. Loki lets a soft moan and thor abruptly pulls back to Loki's chagrin.

"We can't, Lo, it's not safe here."

Loki shot him a look. "I'm not doing it in a tree again."

"And I'm not doing where I can get eaten while.. y'know.."

"Animals have a code. They don't disturb another's coupling."

Thor had a tiny hint of a smirk as Loki pulled him on top of him.

"Well, in that case, I suppose we can-"

"Shut up and kiss me, asshole."

"Douchebag", Thor smiled and complied.

[After coupling] Thor turns to see a rabbit and few other small animals in their tent. "What the fuck!", he cried, waking loki up. "You said animals won't interrupt coupling!" Loki rolled his eyes. "You actually fell for that sorry of a lie? Really, Thor, you're a phenomenon." Thor's glare could melt glaciers. "They're here for the heat." Loki shooed them away and turned off the lamp, placing rocks on the inside of their tent so animals won't sneak in again from the ground. When thor wouldn't budge, Loki kissed him sweetly and pulled him for a cuddle.

The bros have a gentleman agreement that Loki will only accompany Thor in his research if thor does the same.

Fandral, at times, substitutes for Loki when they venture in a quite civilized area, for obvious reasons. (Fandral is a fashion tech professor.)

Loki's room is a mess, but occasionally he cleans it and it looks pristine for a while, until Loki's fixated on something again -then it doesn't get cleaned until he gets dust allergy from it.

Thor's room is neat as he only uses it for sleeping and keeping his belongings like dumbbells and books. His garage is the exact opposite and once in a blue moon cleaned (only bc couldn't find an equipment)

Loki is very playful in the bedroom while Thor is quite serious, though they are the exact opposite in other matters.

Loki can edge Thor for hours on end, may even leave him that way until he's panting like a caged tiger mad with lust, restrained and gagged, and thor absolutely loves the torture.

Loki always tops but on the occasions Thor does take the reigns, Loki's left a drooling cock-drunk mess. And passed out.

As children Thor was more protective while as adults it's Loki.

Loki has a handful of very close friends who know him deep -only slightly less than Thor ;)

Thor has a great number of 'friends' but none of them, save three or four, know more than his favourite colour. (Thor always wears red so it isn't that hard to guess). Thor likes to keep his life private (it rarely happens) and stays away from other people's businesses. He doesn't express heavy emotions to matters that don't involve him. Like, if a 'friend' lost their parents, he cares as much a third person would, but he's polite enough to give a hug and offer to drive them home (or train station/airport).

While Loki isn't afraid to show sentiment, Thor tries to tone it down having been constantly bullied for it by parents & peers in his childhood.

Which lead to emotional outbursts at the most inconvenient times (Loki knows but is stubborn himself, so though they hate each other awhile, they will get through it eventually. But others don't and lead to hurtful words).

Thor is quick to anger. Loki has a line and waits patiently till it's crossed to leave a lasting impact.

Thor isn't as obnoxious as he used to be, but is still arrogant for an adult. Loki was exposed to temper tantrums as a child, and sadly, it caught to him too. He's a master in giving the silent treatment. And when Loki shuts off himself, he won't be opened. (Unless it's Thor or Thor is in danger and no one else can help, though it hasn't come to that yet)

Thor will say he's sorry but that's just lip service. (Unless it's really an accident and Thor didn't mean to).

You are a dead person if you argue with Loki without any basis/evidence/proof. Loki cannot stand being interrupted repeatedly, and if it's on purpose, you bet something bad is soon to happen. The interesting thing is that you'll have no clue as to who did or why. But is that fulfilling? You may ask. You see, as long as Loki gets his revenge without proof it was him, it is fulfilling. >:)

Loki has self-destructive habits such as smoking or taking drugs if he is idle. And will not leave it until something catches his interest -after which he'll not so much as even think about them.

For Thor, drinking is a part of life. (He may forget it while deep in his research but once he has a satisfactory output it's beer time!)

Once Thor had ventured alone and gotten stranded on a no-man's land somewhere (no one knew about it) and when he came back all starved, red eyes protuding, dark, hairy and unrecognizable, Loki shrieked the house down.

"It's him! The man from my childhood nightmares. He's here to kill me! AAAHH!"

Frigga had come over that day and was late to recognize her son. "THOR! OH MY GOD! Son, come in!"

Thor fainted on the first step inside and was taken to the hospital by Fandral, Amora soothing Loki at home.

Loki vividly remembers both of Thor's hands pierced for glucose when he went to visit him later.

It took him a Year to regain half of his normal body.

Now, onto the actuall discussion...

So this started with my post about 99% of wolfstar fanart making Sirius look like a woman and how it is a gross fetishization of a queer relationship.

As a masc person who ships a lot of MLM myself, i have noticed that sometimes when i see a fanart of my fave mlm ship, one of the more femme one out of the couple gets portraied in a very femmine way, sometimes to a point of no recognition where it straight up almost feels like a gender swap fanart (and its not).

I usually kept it no mind as it wasnt that usuall and didnt really interest me (for example, i used to be a huge Loki fan a few years back and every time id see a hyperfeminized loki it would be a Thorki fanart, so i just ignored it cuz i dont ship thorki )

HOWEVER

recently i got into marauders and when i searched up wolfstar fanart for the first time ever, MAJORITY of it was portraying Sirius as a baby girl (hyper femme, to the point where it looked like a hetero fan art)

That is why i got fed up, bc before it was scarce but this fandom has a problem.( Like how is it a majority of fanart?? you ppl okay??)

SO, how is this a gross fetishization and queerphobic you ask?

Ive actually seen a lot of people talk about it back in 2020/21 and since then had a few conversations about it with my friends, bc im not the only one who noticed this.

There is this phenomenon of CIS and HETERO girls/women that obsess over gay relationships. They ship mlm characters, maybe desire a "gay bestie" (but not a lesbian one), or even would like to have a bi bf (with a perfrence for women ofc).

I noticed this but didnt know what it was. It wasnt until i heard other people talk about it and talk about some research and studies and so on, that i found out what it all was about.

It is because girls/women in this society and era strive to be seen as equal by their partner, want to be seen as an equal by their partner- emotionaly and physically and so on. And subconciously or conciously they know that they cannot get that from a cishet male partner, so they obsess over the fictive desirable world of a gay male love. (Male bc theyre not queer themselves and fantasizing about a sapphic relationship would be very fruity.)

And while all of that is understandable and valid and actually quite sad, it does not change anything about the fact that these people then go on and invade queer spaces, take away representation, selfproject onto one of the men in the ship to the point where they hyperfeminize him bc they dont actually want to see two men in love, they just crave what the gay couple has.

ps: if you do this and you do not identify as a woman/girl, i am very sorry if this made you feel invalidated and i need to say that this doesnt apply to you, queer ppl obsessing over queer ships is no problem at all and you are valid

Sirius is definitely a little fucked up, and it's hard to blame him, with his upbringing. And he hasn't thought about any of this all that deeply because he hasn't felt the need to -- he knows that he likes thinking about daddy owning him, though the specifics of that statement are just kind of revealing themselves to him as they go along.

But Sirius is smart, too, and he wouldn't be in this at all if Remus hadn't first shown him that caretaker side. Because Sirius really wad just fucking around, having fun anonymously flirting with this hot daddy; feelings wouldn't have been a factor had Remus not looked after him on his birthday, or asked about his family, or bought him groceries just because. That's part of the ownership too. The caveman is hot because it's the opposite side of that coin. Sweet, calm, nurturing Remus has a switch in his head and all Sirius has to do to flip it is flutter his lashes and say "Hi daddy," and suddenly he's got this handsy, snarling, possessive man all over him.

Give me a fictional character and I will say:

Favorite thing about them: His big dumb hero's heart. His compassion. How much he loves his home, his people, his family, his beloved, his friends — how much he loves.

Least favorite thing about them: //stares pointedly at his inability to form meaningful connections because Thor is Not Allowed to be Not Okay (even when it's obvious and people he loves asks him to share his heart).

Three things I have in common with them:

Random Headcanon: One time I considered the thought of little!Thor being exceptionally friendly with his kitchen staff servants, and because he's a strong little guy, he'd pick up giant barrels 3x his size and lug them around just because he wants to be helpful. And he'd do it with or without the prize of getting snuck goodies (though he would definitely prefer the goodies, were it up to him.)

Unpopular Opinion: I'm not sure if this counts as an unpopular opinion exactly, but I do always find it interesting that in the Frozen Vault Scene in Thor (2011), what the cinematography and editors show us that sets Thor off is seeing the dead einherjar...

And I'd actually say that this triggers his anger more than the interruption of his crowning ceremony.

So with that in mind, I'm not actually sure that (most of) his rage regarding the situation was about the coronation at all, in that case. At least, not in comparison to the fear he states (semi-subtextually) about being strong enough to maintain Asgard's borders were. ("They know you are vulnerable.")

He actually seems to only be upset about the coronation AFTER Odin makes it very clear he's decided to change his mind and rescind the crown from him entirely ... which only further fuels the point that Thor isn't ready. (aka: the one thing Thor is keenly aware of, scared of, and is scared the Frost Giants also know.) oh. that's not okay. I've seen some Thorkis attacking people because they prefer bottom Thor in their pairing. There are antis out there who harass unceremoniously but seeing this within the fandom because someone else doesn't follow your hc is scary tbh. There is someone on twitter who is unnecessarily trying to create a problem in the fandom saying bottom Thor art/fics should not be posted under 'thorki' tag, those shippers should use some other tag. Other fandoms might do that but this has never been a problem in thorki fandom. Thorki is an umbrella term like stucky and Stony and why should one half of the fandom stop using it because they don't want to see bottom Thor content. Tagging doesn't destroy a fandom, it is some people who try to control others because they think they are superior bc of their sexual position preference and can suppress minorities who don't follow their headcanon.

This fandom should behave better. It is my comfort ship and I hate to see it ruined for such trivialities.

my thorki shipper brain will always go to Loki being grey ace and his type literally just being Thor and no one else lol. but thorki shipping aside I don't think we really see Loki ever flirt with anyone (other than Thor that time in TDW - which in-universe is supposed to be a joke bc he looks like Sif) or express romantic interest in anyone so it's a bit hard to determine.

I suppose it's possible he could fall in love with a human. I don't personally headcanon him as having had a human lover in the past who died tragically (which I know is a popular headcanon) bc I think he would be a totally different person by the time of canon if he had had that type of mutually fulfilling and loving relationship.
