#thorkyrie fic
Last line tag game!!
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or however many you like).
tagged by @woobifiedvillain and absolutely not tagging as many people as there are words lmao that's TOO MANY. i'll tag @altschmerzes @countthelions @dgalerab @huntress-of-the-forest @astromechs and whoever else feels like doing it (but as always, no pressure loves)
i'm making headway on my commissioned-slash-charity-drive fics, so this one is from a thorkyrie request which has basically evolved into "hey what if i wrote thor love and thunder but, like, made it good this time" and of course loki's there because i'm me
“And hello, Jane,” Loki says with a smile that’s positively vulpine, turning and inclining his head toward her like they’re old friends—which, judging by the wide-eyed look she’s still giving him, is certainly not the case. “You’re looking distinctly less Midgardian these days, aren’t you? New outfit? Haircut, maybe?”

jealousy or envy
(short 800 word thorkyrie fic i wrote in a rage-induced blacked-out haze when the love & thunder trailer came out 3 weeks ago. can't believed it killed the chances of our ship being with just one line 😞)
Tumblr media
It was stupid. Really and truly stupid.
Brunnhilde was almost 2000 years old, the leader of the Valkyrior, the lone survivor of a massacre, the sovereign ruler of the fastest recovering nation on Midgard and yet here she was. Feeling emotions better suited for a silly young maiden, unsure of the ways of the world, of people… of men.
I am not jealous. She had to grit her teeth and mentally repeat that affirmation again and again but she couldn’t look away.
They were in a different dimension, Olympus, on the run from Gorr. She walked beside Korg in silence as she watched Thor and Jane talk animatedly and intimately. From here, she could see his eyes sparkle as he stared down at his ex lover in open adoration, a soft smile on his face. Brunnhilde couldn’t see Jane’s expressions but it didn’t take a genius to know how she looked at him in return.
She had seen that smile before, a few times, years ago. Six but who’s counting? In that time of limbo on the Statesman ship after surviving Hela but before Thanos’ attack, Brunnhilde had been the recipient of those smiles from Thor when they talked, when they sparred, when they joked about Lackey and Hulk.
Things had changed so quickly after that. Thor was never the same after reuniting with her and the surviving Asgardians on Midgard. He retreated inward and acted on the same self-destructive behavior Brunnhilde did for nearly 500 years on Sakaar. She tried to help him when she could but she was oftentimes busy helping rebuild New Asgard.
I should’ve done more. The Thor that left with the Avengers to restore half the universe was a shadow of himself and Brunnhilde regretted not doing more to help him. A year ago, he left with the Guardians and only just recently crash-landed back in her life, this time seemingly back to his old self again, physically and mentally. She was happy for it, even if they may very well end up dead soon.
He had mentioned Jane, a Midgardian scientist with whom he had met when he was cast out of Asgard, numerous times, during his drunken stupors on New Asgard but he had neglected to mention that she wielded Mjolnir and had the same powers he has. Apparently, it was a new development. She was clearly beautiful and Brunnhilde might’ve even approached her for herself under very different circumstances.
Why did she have to feel this way? Thor was a single man, an intergalactic superhero, a god, not to mention loved and desired by all who knew him, and Brunnhilde didn’t put up much of a fight when he left.
Suddenly, Thor turned around and gave her a blinding thousand watt smile, and Brunnhilde’s heart twisted and thumped loudly against her chest. Jane walked ahead, staring around at the heavenly city in wonder.
“Is it your first time on Olympus? Val, Korg?”
“Yep,” Korg succinctly answered, still distraught over what just happened.
“I've been here only once before, on a diplomatic trip with your father, the queen and Hela,” Brunnhilde said and watched as Thor’s face almost imperceptibly darkened at the mention of his family. She instantly regretted her choice of words and moved to change the subject.
She nodded her head towards his ex lover and Thor caught her eye. “Am I sensing feelings?” A teasing lilt was in her voice but inside she felt anything but. Brunnhilde both dreaded and anticipated his answer.
A rare blush bloomed on Thor’s cheeks and he stuttered a bit, seemingly trying to figure out what to say. “I am- Jane is- I still care for her a lot,” Thor finally said and nodded determinedly as if to affirm the statement.
He still loves her, obviously. Brunnhilde forced a half-smile on her face, ignoring the pangs in her heart. “Well I’m sure she’ll say the same for you,” she replied and continued after Thor visibly relaxed, “Come on, we don’t have a lot of time left and we need to get into the Hall of Olympians soon.”
Thor nodded, patted her shoulder and left her side to go get his ex lover. Looking at them from afar, one could almost swear they were siblings given by how alike they looked.
I am not jealous. Or was she feeling more envious? The truth was, Brunnhilde knew what those looks from Thor meant back then… she just didn’t want to let him in. From the emotionally closed off haze she had been living in for a few centuries to the pain she still sometimes felt thinking about her ex lover who sacrificed herself for Brunnhilde in battle, she just wasn’t ready to put herself out there then. She never encouraged Thor’s looks but she never denied them either. When he gave her that haunting kiss mere hours before Thanos’ attack, she didn’t act on her wants and could only think about the inevitable heartbreak love always deals.
Brunnhilde knew now what she felt. It wasn’t jealousy nor nor envy or even heartache. It was the feeling of regret.

Sorry I’m incapable of asking about anything but Gammafrost and you’re busy doing other stuff
I'm never too busy for gammafrost.
Here's my latest gammafrost fic from September 2022 if you missed it.
I really did get fed up enough with the MCU fandom and how they behaved generally (as a generalized group) as well as how they treated me specifically, to the point that I really don't remember most of what I was going to do with little cuts and at this point it will almost certainly never be finished or tbh probably even get added to after this. BUT. It was going to eventually have a whole plot(s), including thorkyrie and gammafrost romances.
Planned parts of the gammafrost plotline included but were not limited to:
Loki esoterically explaining magic and strongly implying that Bruce himself has some magical prowess as evidenced by the existence of Hulk, an implication which Bruce refused to hear
The whole fake dating thing the fic above set up
Loki and Bruce playing pranks on select Avengers during the time they are in Wakanda (referenced in Take & Give, AO3 is down so I can't link it RIP) and still don't know Loki is on earth, in which they get caught and Loki disguises herself as Shuri - and later Shuri gladly taking the blame/credit
A suitably fucked up First Time in which Loki was having one of their Unlovable Monster Moments and took Jotunn form to prove to Bruce that they're inherently dangerous, but out of concentrated solution of pettiness and horniness Bruce spontaneously figured out how to do a partial Hulking and go green and un-frostbite-able only where Loki touched him
A short one where Bruce - not a morning person - couldn't find a spoon for his yogurt and simply ate it out of the container with his tongue, the witnessing of which caused Loki to semi-involuntarily take female form because she wanted him to do that to her so bad
Loki becoming a Broadway musical playwright overnight via as much influence as talent and taking Bruce to the premiere of his rap opera (because flyting) romcom retelling of a Norse legend I have now forgotten, which also would have revealed that Loki was indeed lying about his betrothal to Freyja in Palate Cleanser
I also did really wanna do a deeply romantic direct sequel to Smash (Me Baby, One More Time) and Some Little Thing... Alas.

Day 2: Training
"You are out of practice," Valkyrie teased, grinning as she ducked below another strike, moving back and away with far too much ease. It was fluid, really.
She wasn't trying to hit back- that wasn't the purpose of this training session. For now it was dodging and taunting in equal measures.
"Give me a break," Thor grumbled. "I've only got one eye. I'd like to see you fight with no depth perception."
From the viciously gleeful look on her face, Thor gathered that he had said exactly the wrong thing.
"Shall I get a blindfold, my liege?" Oh yeah, definitely the wrong thing. "Even up the odds a little bit?"
Thor couldn't call her on her bluff, because he knew she wasn't bluffing. She absolutely would go get something to fight him without the use of depth perception, and she will 100% kick his ass. And they both knew it.
"... no."
"Well come on then," she said. "Try again."
There were worse ways to spend the afternoon than teasing and training.

brunnhilde.
thor x valkyrie
summary: he could admire her all day. no matter what.
warnings: violence??, not really, character death, fluff, angst
They’re losing steadily - a decline like a ski slope, their fight weak, soldiers dying. Everywhere Thor turns he feels like he sees someone he knows, however distantly, slain on the ground, or in the losing half of a duel. He tries to help when he can - slamming his axe into the spine of someone hurting his friends - but when he cannot he has to stop himself from mourning. It’s a battle they signed up for, knowing the consequences. They’ll mourn later, but they must fight.
Truthfully Thor feels he’s doing quite well. Stormbreaker hasn’t failed to kill anyone but he knows it’ll be hardly any match for when Thanos arrives to fight the final duel with the Avengers, no matter when that is. He must - they must face him, kill him, rip that gauntlet off his hands and figure out how to get everyone back. Thor has been prepared for years, for this moment. The moment he’d face the man who murdered his brother and his best friend and half of the universe with the snap of his fingers.
Though now - as Thor looks around the battlefield, at the bodies strewn on the grass, soldiers fighting in air or on the ground - he thinks they might lose.
Tony Stark, suit improved to a God-like mode that had been much improved upon since the snap, fought numerous members of an alien army, looking as though he were coming off better than they were, gushing thick purple liquid from the wounds he caused. Steve Rogers, rolling on the ground with an alien, fighting as hard as he can, but God if it looks like he won’t win. Thor can see Rhodey though Natasha is on the ground and Rocket has been knocked aside, totally still. Nebula fights but her skills are outmatched by Thanos’ army and Thor’s heart aches as an alien slashes against her and Nebula crumbles. She moves no more. Thor had wished she would get the chance to face her father, see her sister again, have the life she deserved.
The battlefield is cold. There are aliens and there are the soldiers. Black and white, good and bad.
Thor brings his arm back and throws his axe with as much strength as he can muster, taking out the alien attacking Steve (though Thor can’t know if he made it, if he survived, or if Thor hesitated long enough to wipe out the star spangled man with a plan) among others, including those who took Nebula. Thor doesn’t know if he can do anymore.
From beside him he sees something. Odd.
A light, high in the sky, bright and coming closer. Is it Thanos? Thor can’t tell, even as the battle briefly ceases to admire the phenomenon. Maybe it’s the coming of the end of the world, as though Thanos wouldn’t be. Maybe it’s come to take them before he could.
But - no. It slams into the ground as easily as a hot knife through butter, like a flashlight reaching ground. Thor takes a few steps back - surely this is nothing good. Thanos. Someone he isn’t even sure he can fight, now.
The light disappears, from the top to the bottom, until Thor is gazing upon the person who travelled through it, and it isn’t Thanos at all.
“Valkyrie.” her name is like a breath on his lips, so soft he’s sure she can’t hear it. But she turns, adjusting the cape on her armor, hands gripped around two swords. Behind her - a group of 50 people, people Thor can recognize as Asgardians, brandishing their own weapons with looks of fierce determination. His heart is filled with so much relief and love he can hardly take it. It’s as if she were an adrenaline rush, giving him the energy he needed to keep going, keep fighting.
Her nose scrunches as her eyes scan the battlefield. It’s resumed in action, mercilessly fast paced, but Thor is only focused on her. The light that brought her there - surely not the Bifrost, he was sure only Stormbreaker could summon it now - seemed to glow from within her, ethereal and spectacular. He could admire her all day.
“I thought you all needed some help.” Valkyrie’s voice makes him weak in the knees, and Thor steps forward, eyes never leaving hers. “This doesn’t look as hard as your bitch sister, truthfully. If I survived her twice - “
“This isn’t the hardest part.” Perhaps she can sense the despair in his voice for she glances at him, and he thinks he might be imagining her eyes softening at the full sight of him. “He’s coming. You and them - I don’t know if you can take them.”
Valkyrie turns her head to glance back at the people behind her, shrugging her shoulders. “You underestimate us, your majesty. I trust that whoever is coming won’t make it past us. We’re tougher than you’d think.” She turns around. Faces the Asgardians. Her voice rises and it’s loud, determined, crystal clear. “Attack the aliens. Save everyone else. You all can do this.”
Thor admires her, still, as the Asgardians disperse in various directions. Thor can see them all, swords working at the aliens. One woman slices her sword through a creature advancing on Rhodey. Another takes down 5 preying upon the feebly stirring body of Natasha Romanov.
His heart swells. “How did you manage this?”
Valkyrie has the distinct look of someone proud but pretending not to be. For modesty. “People wanted to fight, to take down the people who killed half of them. Who was I to stop them? They seemed to respect me, anyway.”
Thor takes another step forward. The battle continues around them but to him they’re in their own bubble, where nothing can hurt them, where it’s just each other. She’s what he’s been needing, what he’s missed. “Why wouldn’t they? You’re brilliant. They saw what you did, on Asgard. I’m sure they’re so impressed. You’re easy to look up to.”
Her cheeks heat up and Thor struggles to hide his smile. He could be 12 years old again, flirting with Saga, his old crush. “I’ve missed you, Lord of Thunder.”
“It’s God of Thunder.” He steps forward again. So close that he uses the hand not holding Stormbreaker to touch her cheek, soft and willing as she leans ever so slightly into him.
She breathes out. “Later. When this is over, we’ll have all the time in the world for this. There are aliens to fight, and a murderer to take down, correct?”
Thor doesn’t move his hand. “You’re right.”
Valkyrie stands still for just another moment. Then she stores one sword under her arm and grabs his arm, pulling his hand away before stepping in, lips brushing against his softly and quickly. Thor could kid himself into thinking it hadn’t occurred, but God, it was like being shocked by lightning, the way he felt.
She steps back, dropping the sword from her arm back to her hand. Thor doesn’t think the butterflies in his stomach could ever stop now. They feel more like ravens than butterflies. Even in a battle, filled with the dead, she’s the light at the end of it all.
“Later, Valkyrie.” He brings his hand up in mock salute, at the woman he could easily consider his queen. Strong and courageous, always.
He throws Stormbreaker again. Doesn’t watch where it goes before recalling it back, recalling the feel of Mjolnir and thinking that Stormbreaker feels better than his hammer had. More confident, powerful.
Her voice carries as he turns around, prepared to exit the bubble and headbutt right back into the fight. “My name isn’t Valkyrie, you know. It’s Brunnhilde.”
As Thor slams his axe down over the head of an alien, the name resounds in his head.
Brunnhilde.
The love of his life? As his eyes flit to look at her, brave and spectacular even in battle, he thinks the answer is a resounding yes.

“You kind of stumbled into the wrong room last night and fell asleep in my bed.” Thorkyrie
🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼
Sidenote: Brunnhilde is Valkyrie’s actual name, so I’m using that.
“You kind of stumbled into the wrong room last night and fell asleep in my bed.” Thor offered her a bright smile just to show that this was indeed the truth and he hadn’t abducted her or something. Although if he had tried to abduct her, even inebriated, Brunnhilde would have kicked his ass back to Sakaar.
She blinked at him, groggy and looking as if she was still drunk, before throwing her legs over the bed. Brunnhilde swayed. “Huh. That’s new.”
“Umm… do you want coffee?” Thor asked. “I don’t really drink coffee. But we have it here somewhere. Or tea! I have tea! Loki bought tea the other day. I don’t like tea either actually.” He stopped speaking as soon as he caught sight of Brunnhilde’s amused expression. “So… tea?”
“I hate tea,” she said, standing up. “And coffee.” Brunnhilde moved past him towards the makeshift bar he had in his room and began pouring herself an amber liquid Loki also brought back from Sakaar. “Morning,” she said, raising her glass to him, before downing the contents.
“Actually, it’s the afternoon,” Thor pointed out. He hadn’t wanted to wake her up. She’d just looked so peaceful sleeping there in his bed, so young and pretty, not that he would ever tell her that. He valued his limbs.
Brunnhilde frowned, as if something about his sentence didn’t make sense, then walked over to where a curtain had been hung to keep the passing galaxies from streaming light into his room. She pushed it aside and stared out into the vast nothingness of space, punctuated only by twinkling balls of gas.
“How can you even tell?” she asked without turning around. “It’s the same day every day.”
“Well, you see,” Thor said, walking up to stand beside her. “We decided that having a schedule like we did back on Asgard would keep the people’s morale up. Make us all feel a little saner.”
Brunnhilde glanced at him and shrugged. “But you have no way of knowing what time it actually is?”
“Uh, no.”
“Good, because then I can pretend the night never ended,” she said with a smirk, turning back to the bar.
Before she could drown herself in even more alcohol, Thor decided to just ask her. “So why did you choose my room?”
She paused. “What?”
“You came into my room,” Thor said, walking up behind her. He’d never been timid with women, but with Brunnhilde, he felt like a small boy learning how to wield a sword for the first time. It was maddening. “And threw yourself onto my bed… while I was in it… It kind of hurt.”
“I was drunk,” she said, shrugging it off. “Don’t get any ideas, your majesty.”
“Well, actually…” Thor reached for her wrist and gently pushed it down so she would drop the container of alcohol. “You told me you wanted to be there, so I don’t know. Maybe you knew exactly what you were doing.”
She turned around and tilted her chin upwards. Though short and small like a puppy, Thor instinctively took a step back. There was a glint in her eyes.
“What are you suggesting?”
“Nothing,” he said, raising both hands up, but Thor smirked anyways. “Or maybe –”
“I strongly urge you not to finish that sentence,” Brunnhilde said. “Your majesty.”
Thor laughed and decided to close the gap between them till he was towering over her. “Or what?”
“Or you’ll find yourself with another missing eye.”
“You know if you like me, you can just say so. Many women like me. Well, not many women. I’m not some kind of… philanderer. I respect women. All women. Women are great. My mother was a woman,” Thor rambled off. “Of course… you knew that.”
Brunnhilde raised her brow, took a step back and snorted. He smiled at her, all toothy and ridiculous, but she brought out a part of him that was more playful than kingly. It was nice to have that with someone again.
“Good afternoon, your majesty,” she said firmly, as she backed out of his room. It was a dismissal, but it wasn’t a rejection and that gave Thor hope.
One day, he was going to get her to finally admit to liking him. Until then, he could get used to waking up in the middle of the night to a prone Valkyrie falling on top of him, even if she had elbowed him in the face as she did so. It was worth it.

I'm feeling really emotionally drained and lazy, taking this week really slow (and probably week too).
I would love to read some fics in the meantime. I'd love some suggestions for ones you have written and read that you liked. Please send me recommendations.
By the way, most of things I read center women of color. (Such as: Valkyrie, Thorkyrie, Sarah Wilson, Helen Cho, Gamora, women from xmen, Okoye, Attoye, Shuri/Riri, and so on)

Three Sentence Fic Prompts
So, I’ve taken a bit of time off from writing to clear my head and keep other stuff going and flowing. Now, I’m quite happy to get into the swing of writing some more chapters, but I’d like a bit of a warmup first. So, feel free to send in your prompt, pairing, fandom, or any combination, and I’ll write a three sentence fic for it. Within reason. Basically, it doesn’t have to be something in my tags, and if I’m not comfortable writing it, or I feel like I shouldn’t, then I’ll let you know. It’s about 1 am here as I send this in, I’ll reblog when I get up for other time periods. Basically, main things I’m definitely happy writing for are:
Pokémon (before Sun & Moon for Anime - haven’t watched yet)
Spideychelle (MCU)
Miraculous Ladybug
Rayllum (Dragon Prince)
Star Wars (Clone Wars or Rebels)
Hiccstrid (HTTYD)
Big Hero 6
 Thorkyrie (MCU)
My Hero Academia (up to anime’s current point)
Beyond that, anything that fits within those fandoms or has similar connotations should be fine. Again, if I’m not particularly comfortable writing, I’ll let you know and give you the opportunity to send in another option.
