‘elp, Old Tumblr users. Rebloging question!

Uh, Howdy! I am quite the new user compared to some of y’all, and I want to see if I can compile a little help here. For my own sake and I suppose whomever may ever run across this.

Why is rebloging so important? Why doesn’t liking suffice? The overarching questions of this! I almost completely understand Tumblrs other functions, but this one evades me. Is it due to the lack of algorithm? Some side questions are below.

Is liking and not rebloging viewed as rude? From what I have gathered, I’ve seen this is fat yes, but I understand things better when there’s an explanation and I haven’t actually found a blog compiling the dos nd donts on this particular issue! I’ve seen that it’s because users, especially artists, won’t get as much traction without a reblog, which is fair, but then what does the like function do? I thought I was being nice by liking, but I’ve seen a couple of blogs that they find it relentlessly annoying and I went “awh shit oh no”

Is there a way to keep your reblogs in a separate space? I seriously don’t want this to come off as rude, I’m just genuinely curious. I post art, myself! I’d love to show off other artists work, but I also don’t want my own stuff to get drowned out in my tirade of showering someone in the plethora of reblog hell (I can and will death scroll way too deep into artwork or fandoms; the large compiling of just everything is the reason I came here! Inspiration galore!). I’ve seen some blogs with no reblogs of others, but who say they want to be rebloged themselves and seemingly take part in the practice somewhere! Which just has me curious. Would it be rude (to standard… standards?) to use a side blog to repost instead? I understand the point is to push the posts to people who follow you, and this would technically go against that. I just want thoughts!

No clue if anyone will see this. Not actually sure what methods you’ll use to respond. But rest assured, if anyone does, you’ll be doing me a favor so I can leach off of your responding habits also because I’m a little fool who wishes to learn and interact.

is there anyone rooting for epel and sebek because those two are literally twisted from objects from their movies 💀 (epel is twisted from the poison apple and sebek is twisted from the lightning which is obvious)

I would say the evil queen is rooting for Epel, but be honest with ourselves. Vil is first and foremost the one she wants to win, because Vil is more or less a variant of her, and she is that vain only care about Vil. That being said, I think Snow would also want Epel to be happy. She likes Vil, but she'll root for Epel too. I also lowkey want to say Hercules would not be upset if Yuu liked Epel. Hercules remembers when he was a scrawny little farm boy, maybe he'd see a bit of himself in Epel.

As for Sebek, I feel like he'd have a lot of the henchmen on his side. Especially Maleficents little henchman. "He's one of us! :D" type of deal. Also this might be silly, but Zeus. "A lad with lightning powers! That's a fine choice if I do say so myself." Also if we include the Disney Faries, as in the Tinkerbell and friends franchise, I think Rosetta rooting of him would be kinda cute. Because in the pirate fairy, didn't she look after a baby Tik Toc the crocodile? Or he thought she was his mama or something like that? She takes one look at Sebek and goes "That is my boy! That is my baby!" Then proceeds to fuss over him. Fixing his hair, spraying him her floral perfumes, wiping a smudge on cheek. General fussing over him, but because she's a pixie all Sebek hears is the little bell sounds.

it's the 3 year anniversary of the day I realized I was trans. I have a few thoughts to share regarding how I'm more than pleased with how far I've come.

that night, and the first year and a half I was shattered I'm not going to lie to you. preparing for some hard truths like the rejection I was expecting from family, which sadly ended up being correct to prepare for. as well as some crippling dysphoria that i had always faintly recognized in my chest and forehead (metaphorically speaking) that hurt 100x worse fully realizing what those feelings were.

year two was defined by adjusting to hormones, and a new state of being since my prior persona as a human was mired with an aloofness and false bravado in order to try to fit in with male peers. in retrospect I would say for my levels of comfort, and who I truly am I may have overcorrected in order to feel girly and femme. I now find solace and peace in lesbian masculinity as I had taken note of from the trans woman who posted the "wearing a dress doesn't make you a woman" tik toc.

now I sit here today honestly in a pretty good place. despite rejection, despite displacement. I find myself a good mix between the two "personas" of mine. I guess that's what a normal person might call feeling like yourself. I do feel like I'm finally me too :) I feel like me! and I couldn't be happier.

I wanna say it’s because it wasn’t an actual word. Annihilate and slain are words that Tik tocs algorithm could’ve picked up on and suppressed because there’s actual definitions for them. While when you used to look up unalive there wasn’t any. That and also possibly because the app is full of young kids. They might not understand words like annihilate so creators dumbed it down for them while also trying not to flag the systems.

But my poor 3rd graders vocabulary is SUFFERING XU

I will be makeing a comic!

it will be called “outcast” and the main character is Alex! Alex also has a twin sister named Alice and a friend named dustin!
