honestly kinda left Star Wars after TROS and came back this year after rereading tmatbb and was surprised to see FinnPoe wasn’t at all thriving like I thought it would. And it makes me sad. our boys deserve better than this. Why does the rat ship get to thrive?

yeah unfortunately finnpoe died once tros was released. 😔 It really only thrived before each movie was released like after tlj it died as well but then the build up to tros being released it was so popular like it was all over tumblr/twitter, the cast interviews always mentioned finnpoe plus john and oscar supporting it as well, but once tros was released I think most people dropped finnpoe cause of how they were treated in the film (especially finn) and plus the sequel trilogy is done now so the hype is gone, but I'm still here! Maybe one day we will have canon finnpoe :) at least we know ratlo is dead as well with 1/2 of the pairing 6feet in the ground <3

I think I’ll always associate Closer by the Chainsmokers ft Halsey with FinnPoe bc I have a very distinct memory of listening to it on repeat while reading ‘tell me about the big bang’

i've read tell me about the big bang before! (different anon ftr) and yeah i don't think you're too off the mark about it. it's from finn's perspective and some of the sections did feel worth the read! the prose can be really pretty. but overall the characterization for finn never felt... 100% Right? i think it (like many fics) leaned too into the Sweet Finnamon Roll trend w/o incorporating his anger/complex feelings. canon finn has a Vibe and way of interacting w ppl that felt absent for me

yeah...like im pretty sure i have the pdf somewhere on my old computer but i just never got around to it and by the time i remembered it i was like...hmm i missed the train on this one. i might read it one day for like scientific curiosity but i already feel very disconnected from it so it’d be more of a study/analysis than anything
