AI should be used as guidance and inspiration in the field of art and creativity. Not something you should just make do all of the work
Half the time AI is built off others work half the time without the creators' permission. It's also rather disappointing that students are using it to just get away with not doing assignments. They're only screwing themselves over in the end when they do that because then they don't learn the concept. Not to mention that those students are ruining it for others. There's been an issue at my school where teachers are using an AI scanner that is unfortunately not the most accurate. It's caught students who did use chat gpt but it's also caught students who never even used it
It's the fucking AI art prompt generator all over again. No one can tell the difference and now everyone's paranoid and blaming each other
I'm so sick of this shit and I'm sorry for rambling to you about it. I don't mean to be artsy-fartsy but I want to see work that was made by people, not by a machine. Ruins the whole point of creativity and relaxation if it's just an AI. It's just soooo frustrating to me!!
PREACH!!!

How do you research for your series? First about music and now about food! You're such a good writer
awwwww thank you!!! really, i know i still have a lot to learn and improve but im grateful for all the kind words and encouragement i've been getting!!
hmm i guess it helps that i have prior knowledge? So i know what to look for... For music, I have family members in the film/ music industry so that helped. And with food, my family takes food and cooking to a whole new level so all of this was already in my head.
but still, google is your best friend! (idk my best friend says i'm odd for having bits of knowledge in my head about the most random topics)

two things I want to go to are happening on the same day at the same time, whether I have the confidence to go to either idk but at least there's an option there. There's a trans/non binary picnic in one of the parks near me, or there's a queer bookclub walk and talk in another one of the parks near me. I think I can take my dog to both. idk what to do!!!

You know how in algebra, they teach you to manipulate formulas so you can work backwards and get the answer if you have the variables to work with? Like you use the formula as is and you get the answer; you manipulate the formula to isolate x and you use what you have to find the answer. Well in food service math, it doesn't really work like that. There is always one extra step before you can do anything. You have to do that one step before you can continue the rest of your calculations. It would be nice if that extra step was the same for every formula and that way, it would be consistent. But NO, not in food service. The extra step at the beginning is different for every calculation, and if you think you can manipulate the formula to work backwards and think it's simple, you are incorrect and you WILL get the wrong answer. Food service is the bane of my existence and I'm doing my best to crack it so I don't struggle with this on my test. It is absolute garbage math. Dietitians pulled this out of their butts and called it math, and they made it everyone else's problem, too. Thanks, I hate it.

to read leer
Imagine Bruce Lee reading a book about medicinal leeches in his private Learjet. (that’s a private jet completely filled with books, like a flying library) What is he wearing? A Lee denim jacket and Lee jeans.
Reading is learning.
Bruce reads a book. Bruce lee un libro.

Duolingo Sucks, Now What?: A Guide
Now that the quality of Duolingo has fallen (even more) due to AI and people are more willing to make the jump here are just some alternative apps and what languages they have:
"I just want an identical experience to DL"
Busuu (Languages: Spanish, Japanese, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Korean)
"I want a good audio-based app"
Language Transfer (Languages: French, Swahili, Italian, Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish Speakers)
"I want a good audio-based app and money's no object"
Pimsleur (Literally so many languages)
Glossika (Also a lot of languages, but minority languages are free)
*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.
"I have a pretty neat library card"
Mango (Languages: So many and the endangered/Indigenous courses are free even if you don't have a library that has a partnership with Mango)
Transparent Language: (Languages: THE MOST! Also the one that has the widest variety of African languages! Perhaps the most diverse in ESL and learning a foreign language not in English)
"I want SRS flashcards and have an android"
AnkiDroid: (Theoretically all languages, pre-made decks can be found easily)
"I want SRS flashcards and I have an iphone"
AnkiApp: It's almost as good as AnkiDroid and free compared to the official Anki app for iphone
"I don't mind ads and just want to learn Korean"
lingory
"I want an app made for Mandarin that's BETTER than DL and has multiple languages to learn Mandarin in"
ChineseSkill (You can use their older version of the course for free)
"I don't like any of these apps you mentioned already, give me one more"
Bunpo: (Languages: Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Korean, and Mandarin)
