My BFF is visiting from Regina, Saskatchewan. She picked me up and we drove downtown and had a little treat, looked at a bookstore, then went to a local park for a walk. Afterwards, she took me to the hospital and took my mind off of my IV infusion.

This morning, I had to get the kid to school very early. We left before 7am so they could attend a “women in trades” seminar. She enjoyed the electronics module the most.

I haven’t been getting much sleep. My eye has been twitching, again.

I walked over 16,000 steps, today.

This week has been so busy with 184748329 different things. At this rate, I won’t be getting any downtime until May. Seems like every day is something.

Friday I have comedy class and we’ll be able to view the professional video taken of our show last Saturday. The one I posted is obviously recorded from a phone way off to the side. I hope I get a copy of the nicely recorded one. In the meantime, if you’d like to watch my set, you can see it here on YouTube.

I picked up Rebel Wilson’s new book “Rebel Rising”. I can’t say I’m a big fan of hers but her story interested me, so I got it. Plus, I haven’t been able to finish a book in a month. I keep starting and stopping books to read. Nothing is holding my attention. I hope this one gets me out of my reading slump.

Anyway, the IV infusion I had today is making me very tired and a little nauseous. I’ll be heading to bed shortly.

DON'T get a tortoise

please note i am specifically discouraging you all from getting a tortoise. they are exceedingly expensive to take proper care of, require a large amount of daily energy, and are just plain difficult and complex in their husbandry. the minimum enclosure size is 8 feet by 4 feet iirc and you need both an indoor and outdoor enclosure in most climates. your 8x4 foot indoor enclosure MUST be close to sealed and have very little ventilation to trap enough heat and humidity for your tortoise to survive without permanent pain (our best guess to prevent pyramiding). i have to keep my young redfoot in a 4x4 foot greenhouse in my attic for his health and when he grows i'm going to have to build him a room. there are very few tortoise-appropriate care products (even food, lighting, hides) so you will have to DIY most things if you're not mega-rich. i live in constant fear that i'm going to accidentally mess something up and kill fig. for the vast, vast majority of us, tortoises are really horrible pets (me included, but it seems i thrive best taking care of difficult little bastards). if you dont need a tortoise for your mental health save yourself the effort and heartbreak!

Boxer got a major tank upgrade last week. I figured, why not go all out and completely spoil him with live plants, even though past experience told me he would eat/maim them. “Try anubias,” they said. “It’s bitter and hardy,” they said. Well, Box gives no bothers and has been sampling it every day.

Any of y'all know anything about freshwater turtles because this little dudes eyes look swollen but he was also caked in mud when I found him and dehydrated but I don't wanna release him if he's got something he can spread his eyes are swollen closed but the swelling has gone down in the last hour I've given him water

Follow up question does each Randy plush have memory’s of his life before being kidnapped and dropped off at peoples houses or have you gifted around 2,000 babies to the hands of people who play dating sims religiously…

just for the record, i had to piss into a bottle less than a month ago, so I am definitely NOT distinguished enough to be considered any sort of 'sir'. Seriously, take a survey of politicians, wall street brokerage firm CEOS, distinguished local gentlemen, etc... I guarantee you this: statistically? virtually NONE of them'll have pissed into a bottle recently. I actually had a good friend directly tell me that i'd lost my humanity one of the previous times i had to do this, so I'm certain I don't qualify as a 'sir' and haven't for a while now.

maybe you should put yourself in randy's shoes. imagine you've just been randomly adopted by an inter-dimensional turtle or something, transported to serve as its pet, in a vast and alien dimension beyond your comprehension. Then, the turtle uses its god-like power of matter manipulation to form a cardboard replica of your previous WORST living arrangements for you to live in. Like, your bedroom is missing decorations, the walls are bare as if you haven't ever lived in it, but the drywall still also has that hole you punched in it when you were 16 and your parents wouldn't let you go see Will Smith's Shark Tale (2004). I like to believe it's like being in a nightmare where you're so disorientated that you don't necessarily remember any specifics from your life, but you have the same thought process that your intact mind (memories and all) would have if you weren't too petrified to remember your own name. Then again, that's just my answer. If you wanted, you could just imagine that your Randy plush is just dimly grinning inside and slightly amused at all times, like he's a kitten that's full of milk and about to fall asleep, or alternatively, like he's strung out on pretty strong painkillers. Whatever makes you happiest!
