Season one Deckerstar is like we have obvious chemistry and we could spark at any moment. So why don’t we?
Well, one of us just getting over a relationship and really needs to find herself – find her center – her gravity – her confidence - because she’s defining herself by the job and even that isn’t going well…
And the other one of us is trying to run away from the position, the job, they were forced into (fallen into) and start life anew – trying to find himself as well – defining himself by his own rules and no one else’s.
So we have obvious chemistry and could spark at any moment. So why don’t we?
Cause we are both committed to working on ourselves, but we are also committed to this partnership, to each other. And something about that kind of commitment – one we’ve never really entered into before – never really followed through before - in the sense this commitment is strung together with admiration and respect and hope and intrigue and what we won’t define as love – yet.
Because one of us likes the other – cares for the other - and might be the first human being – entity – constellation of light – he’s cared for in a long time…And that astounds him. More than you know.
So we have obvious chemistry and could spark at any moment. So why don’t we?
Because one of us likes the other – cares for the other - and might be the first person she’s trusted in a long time. And that really counts for her. More than you know.

Like I literally have second hand embarrassment for Vox after seeing what Alastor ACTUALLY is like in a rivalry.

personally very tickled by the fact that technically speaking gwendoline christie's and tom ellis's lucifer are the same entity... it really puts the lucifer TV show into perspective like the Devil is not just off on a fun irresponsible jaunt to LA they got defeated by an emo twink in a high stakes game of dnd and are now FULLY in the midst of an existential breakdown

The Deckerstar relationship throughout the seasons of the show is not segmented in the traditional television relationship dynamic of “we’re together“ vs “we aren’t together“ - they are seemingly always together - but we the audience get to watch, get to experience, the different iterations of them “being together“ – of the different evolutions of them reassessing, reevaluating, not just the “them” of it all, not just the “together” of it all, but internally, but looking inwardly at themselves as individuals and not just as the duo they present to the world. And I think that’s one thing I really admire about the writing of the relationship is that it’s not based on this contrived trope of “inventing a reason to break-up” or “the drama must arise from the tension rooted in the couple not being a couple” – the drama can rest in the figuring out, in the exploration, in the discovery, in the insight, in the growth. It doesn’t have to be so overridden with angst of loss or of separation, it can be more nuanced than that – the love, the admiration, can still remain while all of this examination is taking place.
