We actually didn’t went through an half dozen games of Riku’s character development just to have him proclaimed King of Darkness xD so, listen to me:

He gives the boy a once-over. Short. Uncharacteristically armour-clad for a chosen. Hmm. “Might I ask who on earth you are?”

“Coffee will just prevent me from going to sleep and then when I eventually pass out from exhaustion, the high amounts of caffeine in it will cause disordered dreams of chaos and fire. It’s been suggested that coffee can help with depression but hinder those with anxiety or even PTSD, of course, this is also dependent on one’s normal caffeine intake. If I have always drank coffee, from before the onset of anything divergent about my brain, then staying to my caffeine intake is necessary to ensure I don’t have a downwards mood episode. But if I only started drinking coffee after the onset of such things, then it would be smarter to simply stop drinking it and lessen my caffeine intake.”

Ken continued to type up his plan and ramble about the pros and cons of drinking coffee and mental health, before he stopped suddenly, both hands and mouth. After a moment of pause, he turned to Kouichi and smiled softly.

“I’d love a cup of green tea, actually. Maybe it’s time I take a break too.”

Kouichi gently rolled his eyes out of Ken’s sight, listening patiently to the other’s intellectual side, which the warrior was want to refer affectionately as ‘the spore.’ The warrior took the opportunity to run his fingers through Ken’s hair while the digidestined was distracted, until finally Ken snapped back to this reality.

“Green tea? Good choice.” Kouichi let his hand graze from Ken’s hair down onto the other’s shoulder. “The water should be ready by now. I was going to have coffee, myself.”
