Father & Son by peterparkr for ephemeralstark
Rhodey’s certain about two things. The kid is definitely Tony’s son. The kid is also Spider-Man.
OR
Rhodey meets Peter and tries to become the best uncle that he can be.
carpool introductions by sapphirestark
“It’s - it’s nice to meet you too, Colonel Rhodes, sir. I’m Peter. Uh, Parker.”
“I heard.” Rhodey smiled. Well, teenage Tony had certainly never been this polite. “Just call me Rhodey, kid.”
“O-okay, Rhodey.” Peter’s timid smile transformed into a grin. Rhodey decided he would definitely rub that in Clint’s face the next time he claimed Rhodey wasn’t good with kids.
“Are you kidding me?” Tony interrupted from the driver’s seat. “He’s Rhodey after two minutes and you’re still calling me 'Mr Stark'?”
Revelations by Angeeelatin
When Peter Parker had crash-landed into their tiny little circle and promptly made himself a home, it was obvious that everyone had had to change and adapt to the new circumstances a little.
It was a process and a half but by the end, Peter Parker had slotted himself into their small little family quite nicely, as if he was always there.
This process, however, wasn't something that Rhodey had consciously done.
Or: Peter Parker and his relationship to the Iron Family as seen through the eyes of James Rhodes
boundaries by OnlyForward
in colonel james rhodes’ expert opinion, there were three things that people needed to know when it came to tony stark. the real people, not the journalists: the people who knew him, spent time with him. tony had boundaries, and they were sacred boundaries, not to be crossed.
rhodey has never seen someone be able to break these boundaries. at least, not until peter parker.
"I have a nephew!" by zimnokurw
After six long days of a business trip, Tony comes back home to his not-son-but-totally-a-son and Rhodey gets the pleasure to witness it.
A Big Heart by honestmischief
The thought of Mr. Rhodes sitting alone in his hospital room made Peter feel uneasy, even though they had only exchanged a few words to each other in Germany. It didn’t feel right for Peter to do nothing.
Allston Christmas by Gruoch (orphan_account) for sagemb
“You guys didn’t have to do this,” Peter says from where he sits squeezed into the middle seat of the U-Haul, sweat running down his back. The air-conditioning in the truck they’ve rented is broken, and even with the windows rolled down it’s hellishly hot inside. “Really. I could have handled it myself.”
“We wanted to,” Tony replies as he blasts the horn at a minivan with a “Harvard Mom” bumper sticker that is attempting to cut into his lane. “It’s like a little trip down memory lane. It’s nostalgic—it’s gonna be fun. Right, Rhodey?”
“Absolutely,” Rhodey agrees, with all the enthusiasm of a man being lead to the gallows.
a drunken ode to peter parker by indexofangels for TheOceanIsMyInkwell
“You’re an emotional drunk,” Rhodey says. Rhodey has his arms straight in the air and he’s staring at his hands like they’re deeply puzzling to him.
“Nuh uh,” Tony says, wiping the tears from his cheeks. “You just. You don’t get it.”
“I do get it,” Rhodey says. “I speak Tony language, and Tony language says that you… um, you love the kid. That’s what.”
“I do not!” Tony yelps. “I hate him! A scourge on my life and soul! I cannot stand his squeaky shoes and his stupid big ears!” Tony takes a deep breath and then delicately screams. “Who let him have such big ears, he’s going to fall over when it’s windy there are sailboats with sails smaller than his ears.”
Rhodey lets his arms flop down onto his chest and turns his head on the floor. Tony can hear the bumps in his skull rolling on the linoleum. “Man,” he says. “You love that kid so much it’s disgusting.”
decidedly dad-like behaviour by RandomRuth for Author_Incognito
“Something came up,” Tony says. “I had to make a detour on my way to our lunch meeting. I’m sorry you’re gonna miss those bacon sandwiches you like but…” Tony trails off and jerks his thumb, indicating the back seat.
Rhodey twists around and jumps. “Holy shit,” he says, just shy of shouting it.
(In which Tony is late for lunch with Rhodey and there's a good reason for it.)
(A one-shot that has turned into a one-shot series.)
brighten up, sunshine by iron_spider for killerqueenwrites
Rhodey doesn’t know what the hell to think, and Tony doesn’t give him any reason to stop as time moves on. The kid is always there, and he starts showing up at family dinners, Rhodey meets his aunt, and they actually pick him up from school a couple times when Happy gets sick. Rhodey pays close attention and no, Tony doesn’t treat any of the other interns like this, and Rhodey has to accept what his head has been trying to tell him all along. Actually, legitimately accept it. Visualize the word and link it to Tony and link it to Peter.
This is Tony’s kid.
Repeat After Me by battybatzgirl
Tony’s face hardens as he says, “What kid.” “I don’t know, some twelve year old—” Below him, the kid coughs out, “Fifteen.” “—Fifteen year old—” Tony scrubs a hand across his face. “Don’t tell me he’s wearing a dorky shirt with a chemistry pun on it.” Rhodey frowns. That was oddly specific. Glancing down, he looks at what little he can see of the kid’s shirt—which isn't much since there’s so much blood now, but what could be once called a cartoon joke is printed on it. “Um, yeah?” “Son of a bitch.”
Otherwise known as how Rhodey finds out about how old Peter is, and how badly he needs to beat Tony with a stick.
the child (born to be a light) by aimingarrows
Tony is watching Peter when the realization hits him like a speeding train.
“I want kids, Rhodey.”
“What?” Rhodey coughs, his eyes blown wide as Tony turns to look at him, “Where the hell did that come from?”
Tony’s eyes slide over to Peter.
Wingman by sahiya
Holy shit, Rhodey thought. Tony’s a dad.

The Same Soul by KatinaMoon
Rhodey admittedly doesn't know a lot about this kid that Tony not-so-secretly loves, this kid that seems to spend more time at the Tower then not. He'd meant to, he'd wanted to, spend more time with Peter and learn what had made him so special that Tony, of all people, had gobbled him up.
Not like this, though.
Better Than I Was by Sara (ctrsara)
Hey Rhodey :-) Hey Pepper :-) When are you going to come see us again? It’s been weeks. You know how Tony gets. Yeah, that’s the funny thing. I know it’s been a while, but he’s only been mildly annoying instead of increasingly demanding and whiny. What gives? Oh, I might know something about that. You gonna share with the class? He’s been busy being a role model. We talking about the same Tony? Is this about that intern he mentioned? --------------
Rhodey makes it down to the Tower for a visit, and to meet the "intern" Tony has been so busy with, and is surprised by what he finds there.
Part of the post-Homecoming series "Strands in the Rope," but stands alone, also.

Sassy Peter is a MENACE.
not only is he a menace he's also a spitting image of Tony when he was younger.
No.
Not his playboy days, or his snarky remark days.
The days where Tony would ramble on like the nerdy scientist he is.
So that's why, when rhodey comes back, seeing a nerdy little kid with curly brown hair that strikingly resembled tonys, He didn't question it.
He simply patted Peter on the back and went to go grab Tony to interrogate the poor man on why he kept his nephew from him.

Irondad fic ideas #133
Morgan Stark discovers the joke format, "__, __, and __ walk into a bar..."
She doesn't quite get the concept, but she enjoys it. And, like most children, when she enjoys something she becomes absolutely obsessed with it.
Morgan: A spider, the spider's aunt, and a grumpy walk into the house!
Happy: Morgan that's not how that works
Peter: I dunno, you do seem more like a Grumpy than a Happy :)
---
Morgan: A princess, her bestest brother ever, and their cyborg chef walk into the kitchen.
Tony: You can just say you want pancakes, Mo.
Peter, tearing up: That's Princess Mo to you.
---
Bonus:
It becomes an inside joke that the whole family uses.
Tony when Peter cuts off his coffee supply: (gasp) A genius, his robot minions, and a hater walk into the lab.
Peter, not even missing a beat: A genius, his son, and his robot children who agree with the son walk out of the lab and in to their beds.
Tony, so completely endeared every time Peter calls himself his son he can barely protest: I- I- now wait just a second...
---
Teen Morgan, upon finding her brother and MJ making out on the couch: Eughh! An intern, the goddess way out of his league, and the amount of space reserved for Jesus between them walk out of the shared living space.

Fic Prompt: Free Day Thursday
So some years ago, when My Hero Academia: The Two Heroes had just come out, my sister and I would joke around imagining the chaos Dave probably got Toshinori into during college. Then we were like "Y'know what, there's literally a Kal-el agency in canon, and the first volume has a Wolverine and Spiderman cameo. We can add some more Marvel characters. As a treat."
So the school became The Rogers Institute for Technology and Defense, built by Howard Stark in honor of Steve, Peggy, and the Howling Commandos. Graduates include All Might, Maria Rambeau/Photon, Captain Marvel, Dave Shield, and Rhodey during a transfer semester. Everything after that was pretty much Shenanigans. Like these:
Carol and Dave came careening around the corner of the walkway between the Vision Center (where all the non heroics classes were held) and the Buchanan building (where the heroics classes were held). They hopped over the low line of bushes dividing the sidewalks and made for the tall figure ambling peacefully along, blissfully unaware of impending disaster.
The pair caught Toshinori on his way from "Politics of Heroism" to "Physics and Force I" and grabbed his arms, nearly unbalancing him, in Carol’s case. For the space of a heartbeat, Toshinori tensed, fighting to keep a grip on his textbook. He couldn’t afford to ruin another one!
"Toshi!"
"Toshi run!"
He stared at his two friends and wondered what on Earth could make Carol Danvers run. This boded ill. "What did you do?!" he demanded.
"He poked the bear!" Carol hissed with wide eyes, digging her fingers into his arm.
Toshinori paled. "Not Professor Haddock! Dave!"
"I'd do it again!" Dave declared rebelliously. He drew himself up to his full height -- which put him at just about eye level with Toshinori’s pecs. "His methods are outdated and he should feel bad!"
"HE'S COMING!" Carol grabbed Dave's arm and started running as an actual bear in a lab coat and spectacles came marching out of the Vision Center in high dudgeon. Toshinori winced and eventually decided discretion was the better part of valor.
“H-Haddock-sensei!” he offered a short bow, even though he had long since been made aware that you didn’t greet your teachers like that here. Sometimes he played up the “confused exchange student” act so that people would underestimate him. It was getting harder to pull off, though, thanks to how much time he spent with Carol and Dave and the other students in the Heroics course. “The essay questions on innovation entropy in a society of quirks are due in class today, are they not?”
The infamous professor of the “Politics of Invention” course bared one fang in a silent snarl before controlling his temper. “What? No! It’s due tonight, through the course website! We’ve been over this before, Yagi.”
Toshinori thought of his handwritten essay, and his problems with finding sturdy keyboards, and blanched. “Ah...I...ah...I see. Please excuse me.”
A glance over his shoulder revealed a glimpse of Carol peering down from the roof of the Buchanan Building. Presumably, Dave was with her. As much as he really wanted some answers, three years at U.A. had taught him one very important thing: never give away a fellow student’s hiding place when a teacher is on the warpath. He straightened his jacket, resigned himself to another lecture that should have been fascinating but was boring as heck, and shuffled inside.
Dave so owed them for this.

He didn't know how to explain it, mostly because it was less of a 'danger' bad feeling and more of a 'oh shit' bad feeling. "A bad for me feeling." It looked like Sam was about the make some kind of announcement and he wasn't wrong, she was letting them know that General O'Neil would be visiting the city along with a General Rhodes.
"Yup, there it is." Who had specially asked to check in on the city, she gave a look to John out of the corner of her eye at that and he just took another drink of his water that he suddenly wished was something much stronger.

Tony's sons help Rhodes courtship Steve?(I thought of this idea after seeing your posts)
Ultron, dume, vision would.
Butterfinger and U would be in different.
I think they would also tease them both a lot due to the fact they know more just by observing.
Of course, dume would beep incessantly about rhodey liking steve. Even though rhodey is give. Dume favorite magnet for steve shield.
Approval.
Vision would quietly suggest another pie. Rhodey making him a pie and vision showing a royal blue ribbon.
Ultron being the youngest would just tell steve, much to both of the men embarrassment. XD
Now, if it was rhodey who was single, and kurt was steve adopted child, kurt would definitely have rhodey sign the adoption papers and already have him moved in, "you like my dad, why not now?"
Rhodey and steve both blushing but they would take it slow. ^-^

Peter Parker, one day, used the “you didn’t say i CANT <ridiculous thing that nobody would think to forbid> so i thought it was fine!” line.
Since then, Tony, Pepper, Aunt May, Happy, and even Uncle Rhodey have taken to forbidding things fro Peter without any context.
Some of the more memorable ones:
“Hey Pete, would you mind swinging by for pizza before lab night? And do not, under any circumstances, make friends with the sewer rats on the way here. Thanks, Kid!”
<call at 3am, waking Peter up> “Hello?” “DO NOT EVER SWING WITH A SUSPECTED BROKEN ARM” <click>
“Peter, honey, make sure not to crawl through the vents at school today. Not above them either, please.”

Annoying Neighbour Masterlist
.
“Hi, I’m Pepper, Tony’s ex-wife. You must be (Y/N).”
It had been an awfully long ten seconds before a reply finally fell from your lips. A weak ‘yeah’ that was barely over a whisper before Tony’s ex-wife clasped your hands together in a firm handshake. The kind of handshake that had you wonder if she was gauging your character and intentions with her husband…well, ex-husband.
A part of you wished to disappear from the site while another part wanted to stay put. The woman was quite stunning. A part of you pictured Tony and Pepper together as the ultimate power couple.
“Were you here to check up on Tony? He’s dandy.” Her tone made you so self-conscious, it was ridiculous. The way she spoke was condescending, even if she probably didn’t mean it.
“Um. Yeah, I actually brought him some food.” You pointed to the take out boxes that sat on the kitchen counter, shifting uncomfortably as Pepper let out a small chuckle, shaking her head.
“Well, aren’t you sweet? We actually were quite hungry.”
We.
What did she even mean? And where was Tony? Why wasn’t he here? You knew it’d make you feel better if he was. At least you had hoped for that.
Shifting uncomfortably on your feet, you decided it was probably best if you left. Pepper clearly wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon and Tony wasn’t here for an explanation.
“I’m gonna go. It was nice meeting you, Pepper.” You mumbled, giving her a small smile and a nod before heading out the door.
“I’ll tell him you stopped by!” She called after you, her tone almost mocking at this point, you thought.
Your brain was on overdrive by the time you reached your house. Why was Tony’s ex suddenly in his house? How in the world did she know about you? And most importantly, where was Tony? There were too many questions that needed answers.
As stressed as you were, a way of coping with that stress made you grab a pair of rubber gloves and scrub your kitchen clean. You didn’t know why but it always made you feel better. Even as a child, every time you were upset, you’d either take a walk outside, clean out your toys or do something productive, a habit you had picked up from your mum.
About an hour later, your doorbell rang, revealing Morgan clutching the hand of a man you didn’t recognise.
“Hi Y/N!” she greeted you cheerfully, making you grin wide as she hugged your legs.
“This is Uncle Rhodey. Daddy’s best friend. Uncle Rhodey, this is Y/N, she’s my friend.” She introduced the man who offered you a kind smile and his hand. Morgan in the meantime was distracted by a painting you had on your living room wall and made a run towards it.
Rhodey explained he was dropping Morgan off at her home but there had been a sudden turn of events, which led him here. He was hoping you’d look after her for some time while Pepper and Tony had a chat. Whatever that meant.
“I’m really sorry to spring this on you, Y/N, and I understand if you’re busy or not comfortable, it’s just that, she insisted on spending time with you.” he nodded towards Tony’s daughter, who was now busy looking at magazines you had lying around your table.
“It’s okay. I wasn’t busy and I like her, she’s a good kid.” you smiled politely at the man, before taking her small backpack from him.
“Tony mentioned he’d pick her up from here later.”
Oh. So he was talking then. Just not to you. And Pepper and Tony were going to ‘chat’ while you played babysitter to their daughter. Shaking your thoughts away, you thanked him as Morgan waved her uncle goodbye before closing the door and letting out a sigh. Certainly wasn’t how you imagined your day to go.
“What were you doing?” Morgan piped up, looking around your house curiously.
“Well, I was thinking about baking chocolate chip cookies, and I wouldn’t mind some help. What do you say?” you grinned watching her face light up at the mention of cookies.
You had always been good with children, it came quite naturally to you and Morgan was definitely a well brought up child. All thanks to her wonderful father, you thought. You were probably too quick to judge but Pepper didn’t seem like someone with a maternal instinct although she was a mom. With what Tony had told you and the fact that Morgan never brought her Mom up in any conversation you had had.
“Are chocolate chip cookies your favorite, Y/N?” she asked whilst mixing sugar and butter with a whisk as best as she could.
“They are. What about you? What do you like the most?”
“Cheeseburgers. Daddy and I love cheeseburgers the most.” she watched you beat the eggs and sift flour, bring the mixture together after adding chocolate chips which she mischievously snuck into her palm.
“Do you like my Daddy?”
You paused for a moment as you opened the door of the fridge to keep the cookie dough to chill, contemplating the answer. It was easy though. You liked him. A lot. It was bordering on more than like for you. Until today. Now , you were not so sure.
“I do, honey. I like him.” you gave her an honest answer, smiling a little as her face lit up again.
“He likes you too. He talks about you a lot.” Morgan offered you some chocolate chips she had stolen, making your heart jump hopelessly at her candidness.
You had some time to kill before the cookies would be ready to bake so you asked her to pick out a movie to watch while you cleaned up. The window of your kitchen overlooked Tony’s living room, which is how you’d often converse with the man. There was a flurry of activity that caught your attention as you scrubbed mixing bowls.
It was Tony and Pepper. Walking around the living room, deep in conversation that you secretly wished you could overhear. You saw Tony rub a hand down his face before Pepper approached him, placing her arms around him and cupping his face. Your heart sunk to your stomach as you watched them kiss.
“Y/N! I think we should watch Frozen! Come quick!”
The bowl clattered in the sink as you pulled your gaze away from the scene that had stunned you. Taking a deep breath you tried to ground yourself, pulling the curtains close and continuing with your task at hand.
“Be right there Morgan!” you tried sounding as cheery as you could, blinking tears away and offering her a big smile.
They kissed. Right in the living room, right before you. Albeit unaware that you had witnessed it. Your brain worked into overdrive as the movie played, Morgan hummed almost every song enthusiastically as she sat next to you, blissfully unaware of the goings on.
This was such a mistake. How could you have been so stupid? Getting involved with a man who had a family? They were divorced, sure. But there was no denying that they were still a family. It was always complicated with families, you knew that. But let yourself get swept off your feet by Tony. The last few weeks now seemed like a dream that had suddenly just come crashing down.
By the time you finished both movies, Morgan was half asleep in your lap and your eyes hurt from keeping unshed tears at bay. You made sure she was comfortable and covered her with a blanket before heading into your kitchen to bake the cookies.
There was a knock on your door as you paced about the kitchen while the cookies cooled down on a rack. In your heart you knew who it was, and your mind was screaming on the inside, cursing you for getting involved in this situation.
Tony stood leaning against your doorway waiting as you opened the door, the sight of him almost making you tear up again. But you couldn’t let him know what you saw. Though a part of you wanted an explanation.
“Hi hon. I wanted to say how sorry I was for not coming by earlier. You know there was a lot that happened with Pep–”
“Morgan’s asleep on the couch.” you cut his speech short, opening the door further to let him in before heading back to the kitchen. He figured you would be upset but he was prepared to apologize. What he wasn’t prepared for was how you were avoiding meeting his eyes.
“Thank you Y/N for looking after her, you really didn’t have to. And look, about what happened–”
“We made these together. But she fell asleep. So here.” you handed him a small container in which you packed the cookies, still avoiding his gaze as he picked his kid up in his arms.
“I understand you’re upset. But you have to let me explain, Y/N. Please.”
You gave in and lifted your gaze up to meet his eyes. Yet another mistake. It felt like your heart shattered all over again looking into those brown orbs that held earnesty. You quietly walked away and held the door, silently hoping he’d leave you alone. You could not deal with this, not right now.
“Could I come by later today? I really need to talk to you. Please Y/N.”
“This was a bad idea, Tony. I don’t think we should see each other anymore.” your voice shook as you uttered the words, blinking away tears that welled in your eyes.
You couldn’t wait any longer. So you did what you had to and shut the door on Tony’s heartbroken face before he could stop you. Sinking to the floor, you sobbed into your hands, aware of the fact that he was probably still outside your porch, listening to your crying.
It had to be done. Getting involved with Tony Stark was a big mistake.

Ross’s quote about the Avengers ignoring sovereign borders comes up a lot and is often used to accuse Steve of American imperialism, so let’s have a look into it.
You've fought for us. Protected us. Risked your lives. While a great many people see you as heroes. There are some... who would prefer the word "vigilantes". What would you call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals, who routinely ignores sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who, frankly, seem unconcerned about what they leave behind them?
Sooo. Civil War was a terrible piece of world-building. The first problem is that it came way too early in the franchise, not just for the fracture between Tony and Steve to be anywhere near meaningful, but also the number of missions preceding this that would actually fit Ross’s accusations.
Let’s look at all the MCU movies so far leading up to Civil War:
Iron Man 1-3
Captain America 1-2
Thor 1-2
Ant-Man
Avengers 1-2
Hulk
(Guardians of the Galaxy)
Cap 1 took place in WW2, Cap 2 took place mostly on US soil, with the exception of the Lemurian Star which was a SHIELD mission. Thor wasn’t part of Civil War but he was dealing with extraterrestrial threats that came to Earth. Avengers 1 similarly - the only time the team was out of US was to confront Loki in Germany, and again that was under the supervision of SHIELD. Ant-Man also happened in US territory.
The only person on the team who “routinely ignores sovereign borders and inflict their will” without any oversight was Tony. He did it in IM1 against the Ten Rings. In IM2 he opens the movie with:
I'm not saying that the world is enjoying its longest period of uninterrupted peace in years because of me (...) I’m not saying that Uncle Sam can kick back on a lawn chair, sipping on an iced tea because I haven’t come across anyone who’s man enough to go toe-to-toe with me on my best day.
It is implied - the showing was done in the first movie - that Tony continued his "peace-keeping" activities which consisted of zipping into other countries and blasting everything with fire.
Never forget that even Rhodey assessed Tony as:
As he does not operate within any definable branch of government, Iron Man presents a potential threat to the security of both the nation and to her interests.
Operating outside the law was started by Tony, not by Steve or any of the other (original) Avengers, most of whom were working for SHIELD until they had to bring it down themselves to stop Hydra from killing millions of people.
The narrative problem lies in the vacuum between Captain America 2 and Captain America 3. Avengers 2 deftly avoided discussing who was overseeing their operations, and by the time Cap 3 rolls around they're suddenly a privately operated group of vigilantes?
Speaking of Avengers 2, that's the time someone decided to make a “global peacemaking initiative” without involving his team, much less the global community.
Bruce Banner: So you're going for artificial intelligence and you don't want to tell the team.
Tony Stark: Right. That's right, you know why, because we don't have time for a city hall debate. I don't want to hear the "man was not meant to meddle" medley. I see a suit of armor around the world.
Tony knew the ethical implications and the risks of this but forged ahead anyway. Said murder-bot went all over the world intent on human extinction while the Avengers tried to chase him down. We can argue over whether it was appropriate for Avengers to intervene with Ultron before waiting for the UN to have their emergency committee hearing in 3 days, but I think the key is the Avengers risked their lives to tidy up Tony's their own mess, which is what accountability and dealing with the consequence is all about.
And that's the crux of Steve's argument, which I think a lot of people gloss over.
We are (giving up) if we're not taking responsibility for our actions. This document just shifts the blames.
The Accords passes the buck upwards to the UN…this means both the decisions and the responsibility for the decisions go elsewhere. The situation that riled Tony up in the first place was a mother telling him “I blame you” for Sokovia. Assuming we ignore Tony’s role in creating Ultron, how would oversight have changed the situation? They wouldn’t have been able to create Vision off the cuff, nor would they have been allowed to recruit the twins. The people in Sokovia? Would still have died, and likely far more of them because of a slower response.
But what Tony is saying is if they had oversight, the mother wouldn’t have marched up to him and blamed him. Or as Steve points out, he could shift that blame onto the UN.
Steve’s version of accountability is about taking ownership of their mistakes and finding a solution. Tony’s version of accountability is having someone else make the call and take the blame. (* I feel like this is a thing a lot of people - often young - get confused about. Accountability isn’t just about having someone telling you what to do. Some people and some organisations find themselves in the rare position of having no direct oversight, but they still need to have accountability measures in place - look at the UN Charter for example)
Going back to my original point, the only one shown to routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict his will wherever he pleases was Tony. The one operating outside government sanction for the majority of his appearances was Tony. The one actively seeking out “criminals” and trying to “win a war before it starts” has always been Tony. Tony might not be the one wearing the red white and blue but he’s the only one gloating about having done the job for “Uncle Sam”. The greatest advocate for American imperialism was Tony, not Steve.
