As the Duke of Meropide, Wriothesley is expected to get up early to attend to his duties. As his assistant, you're expected to do the same. But today is one of the few exceptions to this, hence why you have the absolute delight of being fully awake and witnessing an early morning Wriothesley.

"You're so cute," you coo, kneeling at the side of the bed, fully dressed for the day. He's still shirtless, wrapped up and cozy in the sheets. He'd clearly taken advantage of your having to leave for the city early, having hogged all the blankets to himself and leaving your side of the bed to cool.

Wriothesley's blank look and glare hardly fazes you anymore. If anything, it just makes him cuter. Like a disgruntled puppy woken from his nap.

"I'm not cute," he says, voice gravelly and rough. You just grin and run a hand through his hair.

Instinctively, he leans into your touch, eyes fluttering as the soothing motions of your hand lure him back to sleep. There's an aww bubbling in your chest that you barely suppress. "On the contrary, I think you're so cute that I could die."

Wriothesley grunts, burrowing back into the sheets. But your hand still manages to remain in his hair, and he still refuses to shake it off. "Go die, then."

"Not when I have my handsome, amazing, so-very-skilled-at-boxing man waiting for me in our bed," you tease, leaning forward to press a kiss to his cheek in goodbye. Before you move too far, one of his hands comes out to cup your cheek and hold you still, just long enough for him to place a gentle kiss on your lips.

"Be safe," he tells you, looking into your eyes. "And don't be away too long."

"Why?" You reach up, caressing the back of his hand with your thumb. Your smile is still teasing, but the affection in it is genuine. "Sigewinne will miss me?"

"I'll miss you. So come back quick."
