FUN FACTS.
as evidenced by the timeline section, nadia has moved around A Lot and has lived relatively little time in england. this was motivated by constantine's desire for nadia to learn the tricks of the money laundering trade as soon as she displayed an affinity for it. europe's best were spread across the continent and given that there might be some cultural nuances to the trade, it only made sense she actually lived in the regions.
she is an international baccalaureate girlie through and through. all of her education prior to tertiary education was ib; primary years in portugal, middle years in romania, and diploma programme in wales. given the programme's international nature, it enabled nadia to form connections with useful individuals all over the world.
nadia is 190cm / 6'3" tall, making her the tallest liddell by far. the massive height difference, especially compared to her father, has led to some speculation that she's an illegitimate child, but the liddells have always ignored such talk. they know she's a liddell by blood, as much as she detests their relation, and nothing can change that
speaking of height, rarely will you catch nadia without a pair of christian louboutin's in her feet. she particularly favors the kate design — a classic pointy pump with a red sole and a 10cm stiletto heel. this makes her 2 meters / 6'7" tall and very intimidating in the eyes of others. she couldn't care less about the feelings of others, though, she'll gladly crush you under her heel and exploit your insecurity gleefully.
even though she's got a great memory and likely remembers your name, even after a brief encounter, she'll shamelessly pretend she doesn't remember it if she's deemed you too boring / inferior to her. furthermore, she has no issue using a dehumanizing nickname when speaking about you. an example of this is maksim, who nadia sometimes refers to as "expense number (insert number here)" due to what his rehab cost.
capable of physical violence and killing, as all liddell children are, but considers herself above such vulgarities. however, can and will absolutely calculate the most and least efficient ways to commit such acts based on numbers and statistics.
nadia owns two russian blue cats, named mariinsky and bolshoi. they're the closest thing to children she'll ever have, and all of her capacity for warmth and caring is reserved for them only.
more headcanons to be added !

Rafael’s mother is the daughter of an Egyptian diplomat, and his father a well-to-do British rake.
He was conceived accidentally as the result of a youthful indiscretion, inspiring his parents to rush down the aisle to save face.
The marriage didn’t last. Although both parents loved their son (it was about the only thing they could agree on), the newly-minted Graceys were never meant to live under the same roof. His mother finally left when Rafael was four - she wanted him to return to Egypt with her, but his father wouldn’t hear of it. He hasn’t heard from her since (though this is likely due to intervention on Benedict’s part, not that Rafael knows it).
He’s always been really close with his dad - as a child he thought he hung the moon in the sky, and they spent as much time as possible together, working through all the books in the vast library of the Gracey family home.
His father remarried when Rafael was eight. To everyone’s surprise, he gets on very well with his step-mother (and he does call her Mama, even though they aren’t related by blood).
Rafael was eleven when his first sister was born, followed by another two years later. He was already too old to have anything in common with them, but he was utterly devoted to them nevertheless.
Started Eton at the age of thirteen. He was never particularly interested in the athletic aspects of the school, eschewing them in favour of academic clubs and social engagements.
Around this time he started to become aware of the truth of his father’s work with the Liddell family, who have been in their lives since before Rafael was born. He always knew he would follow in his father’s footsteps, and Benedict started him on the path at a young age.
After finishing at Eton, he attended Cambridge University, where he studied History and Politics. It was a given that he’d join the Gracey Group eventually, but a well-rounded education was imperative in the mean time.
His father suddenly died when Rafael was twenty-one, suffering a fatal heart attack just a month after he graduated from Cambridge. It shook him very badly, but he knew it was up to him to take care of the family now, and he’s never been one to shirk his responsibilities.
With the help of his step mother, Rafael stepped into his roles with both the Gracey Group and the Jabberwocks seamlessly, picking up right where his father left off.
He tries his best to keep his sisters out of any gang business. He rarely discusses the nuances of his work with them, so they’ll have plausible deniability in the event something goes wrong.
Rafael Gracey is the man you call when you need something fixed. He has connections everywhere, more money than god, and the kind of sensible, efficient personality that could make a person believe he’s capable of anything.
other things.
In spite of his not-inconsiderable wealth, Rafael only owns one watch, and is rarely seen without it. It belonged to his father when he was alive, and his grandfather before him, and as such has tremendous sentimental value.
He does not like nicknames. The number of people that can get away with calling him 'Raff' you could count on one hand, and two of those are his younger sisters.
Rafael is the sort of man that never seems to go home. He owns a beautiful flat overlooking Regent’s Park, but there's nothing to suggest that he actually lives there - it's almost clinical, kept meticulously clean, with hardly any personal effects to speak of.
His last proper date was so long ago, he genuinely can't remember when it was - or the woman's name.
He would rather have a starter than a dessert.
Once you have Rafael's loyalty, you will have it forever. The only caveat to this is if something you do directly impacts the safety or wellbeing of his step-mother or younger sisters, who he loves more than anything else.
This man is a workaholic. He’s addicted to workahol.

Art Criticism Task 3.2 notes for task 4 about a contemporary artist and one of the artist works
These are notes that helped me to do the 1000 words essay and the presentation about a contemporary exhibition artist 's and one of his artworks.
Sebastian Tanti Burlò
The artist name is Sebastian Tanti Burló was born in 1987 and the education that he did in the University of Westminster London – BA Architecture and Urban Studies
The artist exhibition is in "Froġa / Farrago," at Sliema’s R Gallery, displays of oil paintings showing the artist surroundings in Siġġiewi, Florence, and London
The series of works that he made are "Growing Gardens," "Rajt Malta Tiħxien (I Saw Malta Grow Fat)," "Probable Headlines," and "Everything remains the same (The Beating of Yūḥannā)
His known for the political cartoons, Burló transitions to the brush, maintaining his bold social commentary
Throughout the paintings that the artist made show a rich hue and emphasizing that he is enduring tie to his beloved island
His work focus on the global concerns, addressing environmental threats and democratic regression
His work creates a tragicomedy, juxtaposing Burló’s romanticized memories of his birthplace with the stark realities of contemporary society
He focuses on dull-coloured themes, and the paintings show the beauty in the gardens and countryside where he grew up and spent most of his time in Siġġiewi, also celebrating friendships, childhood adventures and sharing good moments with his friends and family
Throughout the artist paintings made to represent as totems, symbolizing humanity’s progress and fragility
The exhibition has no donkeys because of his metaphorically expressing concerns about an uncertain future
In his political cartoons the artist used oil paint to infuse lightness and wit into his social commentary, encouraging viewers to pause and reflect on pertinent global and personal issues
"Rajt Malta Tiħxien"satirically explores Malta's over-construction and overconsumption, it's delicious and unsavoury characters offering a humorous take on traditional paintings showing artworks of still life, landscapes and portraiture
"Everything Remains the Same (The Beating of Yūḥannā)" reflects on Caravaggio's masterpiece, addressing racism and violence.
"Probable Headlines" draws on Burlò's background in journalism, tackling fake news and buried truths with fictional yet plausible headlines. The juxtaposition of stark newspaper headlines with mundane scenes emphasizes society's apathy toward critical issues
Burlò's upbringing, influenced by nature and his parents' commitment to a better Malta, shapes the ethos of his art
The exhibition intertwines personal reflections with a broader commentary on Malta's challenges and global crises, inviting viewers to engage with the changing world
By thanking his wife Lydia Cecil, collaborator Ann Dingli, and the R Gallery team, Burlò acknowledges the collaborative support behind “Froġa / Farrago.”
The exhibition serves as a visual and intellectual exploration, urging viewers to take notice of societal changes and fostering a deeper understanding of interconnected narratives. "Froġa / Farrago" runs until December 3, offering a multi-dimensional perspective on societal nuances and the artist's evolving conversation with his surroundings
Il Giardino sul Mezzomonte
Colour: tints lighter, shades darker and intensity of bright and rich colour
Value: highlights with brighter colours and blended light to dark
Form: biometric of nature and cylinders
Line: vertical and curved for the gate, trees in a vertical and vertical, diagonal and curved in the bushes, different thickness and thinness on the trees in a curved effect of overlapping
Shape: Organic
Space: size, details, colour, overlapping, placement that focus on the horizon line is farther away
Texture: Impasto of overlapping paint, matte surface that reflects soft light and nature texture
Balance: colour, value and asymmetrical balance
Repetition to create rhythm
Rhythm: progressive, random and flowing rhythm
Feeling of unity
My opinion about the work Il Giardino sul Mezzomonte
I feel that the artist wants to show a feeling that boosts self-esteem and inspires people to reach new levels of skills it also has a relaxing, open environment where people feel safe to explore their creativity
The artist chose a garden to show a great sense of well-being and a place where a person can relax their mind and help reduce their stress and improve their mood by making a person feel peaceful reduce negative emotions and give peace of mind.
I wish that I could go every day to enjoy nature because everyone needs a space where they can enjoy life with no technology.
After all, technology is taking over our lives and we are a creature that is supposed to work with nature not to destroy it.

A dream about sleep told by an insomniac: a conversation with Aleksandra Blinova
I sat down with one of Central Saint Martins most exciting MA fashion graduates and talked about everything from her delicate craftsmanship to the role of fashion in the midst of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
It’s always exciting to see an intersection of artistic crafts play out, especially when it’s translated into clothing and even more so when there’s fascinating storytelling at play. Russian-Latvian designer Aleksandra Blinova does just that. Recently graduating with an MA from Central Saint Martins, Blinova’s work is just as steeped in emotion and feeling as her meticulous handcraft.
As I sat down with Blinova just outside the fashion studios at Saint Martins, she felt like an old friend from times gone by after I had left Lithuania, perhaps it was her accent, but I feel it was her warmth and general openness. When I asked her why she came to London to do her BA in Westminster she explained “there was a restricted system working all the time…you finish Kindergarten then you go to school then you go to university then you get a job for all your life and I just didn't see myself there.” She continues : ”England is a good place I can be because they can give a loan for the education that I couldn't afford otherwise so it was like a no brainer for me”. She later reveals to me that this restrictive system had impacted her psyche as a designer: “I became very perfectionist and controlling,..I feel like everything that’s happening is my responsibility so I feel like when I work I do a lot of time consuming and almost painful, physically painful processes, like gathering by hand for example, I do a lot of that and like hand stitching to the point that my fingers are bleeding and they’re like rough and I feel exhausted and I feel lightheaded and I feel like I’m going to pass out and it gives me so much emotion and so much motivation and inspiration somehow it's very strange, but I see it in my designs, it's very complicated, complex pieces — controlled by me and my hands.”
Emotional storytelling is at the heart of Blinova’s profile of work, there’s always a narrative at play when she comes to design her collections. “ I usually start with my own pictures that I take by myself when I walk on the streets and I just see different objects that are like flaming my mind, and I just feel like a little spark, and they can often be like super disgusting images of like rubbish and like wet plastic sheets and like dead birds and like bones sticking out of them and like blood stains on the ground…And after that I just search for fabrics that represent the textures and colours from the images and I start to manipulate with them and I don’t know how, but I believe that these fabrics have their own life and I just discover it. It’s almost like I don’t really do anything, I just let it take its own shape and yeah I just fix that into place and that's how my designs come out and it’s always unpredictable to me of what it’s gonna happen and what it will look like but it’s always exciting.” So when it came to her MA collection, Blinova didn’t hesitate to fill it with bucket loads of emotional baggage.
Titled ‘Insomnia’, Blinova’s graduate collection told the story of her battle with insomnia and the night when she finally saw victory over her own mind. Stuck alone in a flat in Paris during lockdown: “The insomnia got so bad that all the days seemed like they were a year long, like it was a never-ending day and I felt at some point like an observer, like I’m just looking out of the window, there is no light, and I’m just looking at the people that are all sleeping but I am not and it’s almost like I’m separated from the world.”
“One night, it was about 4am and someone had told me that I should eat an apple to fall asleep. So I tried every night, and I eat an apple and I eat another apple and I just don’t fall asleep. And next to my bed I have like a huge mountain of these dried apple core’s in hopes to fall asleep — never worked. So I was like, okay, that didn’t work. So what should I do? My heart was palpitating, I was like okay, I really need to calm down now. And I take a canvas and a dried out flower I found under a car once, and I start to paint it, like a maniac smudging colours on the canvas. Usually the way I would paint before would be so accurate and controlled and now I felt like okay I really need to splash it all out and that's what I did. And then I finally fell asleep. The whole collection is a story about this night.”
Split up into 5 chapters, the collection itself runs alongside a poem written by Blinova, with each stanza associated with a matching look. “The first chapter is like this ghost, almost like an illusion. This transparent spirit that just doesn’t let me sleep and I feel like — is it real or is it a dream? Then the second one is the apple hearts, connected to the apple that I ate and all these bitten stubs resting by my bed. The third one is the canvas, just like the purity of it, simplicity, something I’ve never really done before. Fourth one is the painting and the fifth one is the night. The fifth outfit is actually made out of the bedroom curtain that I had in my room that was really bothering me and I just ripped it in strips in anger and just started wrapping it around my body and now I’ve got rid of it and I’m very happy.” As I saw the garments on show at the Lethaby Gallery, I felt as though I was fully transported into Blinova’s world. Every stitch, every gathered tulle, every hand-crafted spelled out another chapter of her story.
When I asked her about what’s next for her going forward, she was slightly hesitant to make any solid commitments, mentioning how it's especially difficult to make any long-term plans in a post-pandemic world. “It's going to be all about creating singular handmade hand stitched pieces, from my pictures, like I do. I still want to connect them with stories and emotions that I’m experiencing and the environment around me. Ideally it would be like making my own brand and creating a website, being open with the media, I’d love to make some more jewellery.”
Being a particularly emotional person, Blinova felt very deeply about the events in Ukraine, as many Eastern European people do, Blinova has family on both sides of the war, so for her it was an especially difficult time. “After the MA show I was feeling like the future was bright and it was in my hands, and everything felt so exciting and then 3 days later the news about war I was just sobbing in my room, questioning my whole existence like what am I doing? Why am I even doing fashion, like what’s the point of making clothes if the world is going to be all in war. But I realised that if I were to stop, it would be like giving into Putin. And that he wants this separation. Now more than ever this world needs love and hope and kindness and beauty and that's exactly what we do here at CSM so we just have to keep making this world beautiful together.”

Allen Cunningham [09.03.1932–11.09.2020] _ Photos by: Spyridon Kaprinis [Paris, France _ 06-11.03.1997].
“Architect, teacher, writer, scholar, critic, organiser, creative artist, intellectual, cook, conversationalist – how to sum up the extraordinary range of talents of this man who was such an inspirational figure and friend to so many of us fortunate to have known him? Here we salute Allen’s founding role in conceiving and curating The Journal of Architecture that over its first quarter century has seen it become a leading international academic journal of architectural discourse and research. Yet, this project with its now vast heritage of scholarly material is only one of Allen’s many outstanding achievements. One could equally celebrate his career as a practising architect who worked with the likes of Marcel Breuer and Sir Leslie Martin, or as Head of Architecture at PCL/University of Westminster lighting the paths of generations of grateful graduates, or Co-ordinator of DoCoMoMo, the international organisation for conserving Modern Movement buildings and his milestone publication Modern Movement Heritage (1998), or his inexhaustible artistic creativity so splendidly displayed in his house in France, a one-man gallery of stunning inventiveness that delighted and amazed those of us who visited him there. To refer to his skills in the kitchen might seem trivial in this context, but to be a guest at one of Allen’s culinary grand projets was to witness a different yet equal creativity of operatic brilliance. And permeating everything was an innate modesty, warmth, and kindness revealed in all his personal dealings – even his mode of addressing his group emails to every member of the Editorial Board individually by name. For those of us privileged to serve the Journal under his leadership, our sadness at Allen’s passing is softened by the realisation that his legacy will endure far into the future to the benefit of an audience more numerous, more diverse, and more appreciative than perhaps even he could ever have imagined. “
