Esme's voice holds the grief of a woman who is tired of losing her children. She's not entirely sure how much more she can take; it's largely the reason she's here now. She doesn't need nor want to lose Bella, too— especially after believing she already had.

Esme's eyes flicker upwards with Bella's remark. "It's awful, but I won't let it be so any longer... I promise." She goes to say more, that she understands how Bella feels, but she never verbalises it. Bella would not want to know how similar feelings led Esme to her demise.

With Laurent's name, Esme sits straighter. She feels her lips curl back with a slight snarl, eyes narrowing with sudden urgency. "She won't get to you," she finally states with more confidence than she truly feels. "I'll call Carlisle... We can liaise with Jasper— he'll know how to handle her."

The moment she felt him hit his release a smaller one echoed through her as well, though she was careful not to hurt his back. Kyleigh had noticed his scars earlier than that night but she didn't want Daryl to think that they made her love him any less. Her eyes were still closed, afraid that if she opened them she would wake up from some fantasy and be alone. Feeling his weight on her told her that this was real and an exhausted grin played upon her lips.

Softly she rubbed her nose against his, trying to slow her racing heart. Her hands began to slide up and down his back while she enjoyed just being this close to him. "Only because you're with me." She replied to Daryl, just wanting him to feel as good as she did in that moment.

finished watching netflix atla! i think the hate is unjustified lol like all that hate seems a little too intense for what i think the show missed. it didn't hit all the same notes as the original show, yeah, so i'm not sure it quite succeeds as an adaptation, but as a standalone show it's pretty good. and i might have some gripes with the characterization, but there was love in the casting and in the costumes and the world, and that goes a long way for me.

"I know," she answers, her voice surprisingly calm despite the guilt on her shoulders. "And I won't let it happen again, either," Esme assures with a sense of urgency, "I promise."

Esme releases a sigh, fingers uselessly interlacing with each other. "I think Edward knows that too. It wrecked you both— something I don't think Edward expected... Or intended." Esme is still beyond angry at him. At his lack of listening to reason, at the way he hurt his family and Bellamy. "It doesn't make what he did better, it can't, but I know it won't happen again."
