╭─► ❝The Servant: Umbrella Academy's Servant❞
Five Hargreeves × Female! Reader || Written by Diana (d1ana-m0nd)
Tumblr media
➢ Description : A Q&A video with Y/R/N and Aidan Ghallagher.
➢ Word Count : 1,750
➢ Links : Masterlist && Character Profile
➢ Note : Not gonna lie, I am uncomfortable about writing a real person 😭, well, real people in general. That's why in this fanfic, Mr. Gallagher may come off as OOC. So please don't be surprised that I focused more on the reader's chaotic energy to contrast with Mr. Gallagher's tame personality. For the record, Y/R/N means your real name. Also please comment or let me know if you want a part 2 but with your questions instead.

Q&A with The Umbrella Academy cast ft. Aidan Gallagher and Y/R/N
"Hello everyone! As promised I promised to you guys, I brought over Y/R/N who plays Number Zero of the Umbrella Academy, for today's video." Aidan Ghallagher introduced the girl beside him who wore a large cardigan and an unamused look on her face.
"Are you for real?" Y/R/N asked, not humoured by Adian’s introduction but the actor looked amused by his fellow co-star’s reaction.
"Is that all you have to say I mean? You don't have a catchphrase or introduction for your channel?" She added but the brunette actor ignored her words knowing she’s just jesting for the video.
"Anywho, we will be answering some of your questions and we will be providing our answers to the best of our abilities."
The (your hair color) actor huffs and pretends to be hurt by being ignored.
"Oh yeah, I just wanted to double check Y/R/N, are you okay with answering the questions-"
"Of course I am, if I wasn't I wouldn't be here."
"You've been in my channel for 15 seconds and your already acting like it's yours."
The actress dramatically flips her hair then bats her lashes at the camera making Aidan laugh, "It's my job to make this entertaining. I know you can't possibly handle the weight of being the only star."
The boy smiles, clearly entertained by her actions but, managed to stifle his laughter. "We might as well start with the questions before this becomes her channel."
"So the first question is from, moe-moe-kyunette, I uh, did I say that right?" Aidan looked doubtful once he said the username then looked at Y/RN to help him out.
"Ship it and clip it everyone! You've tricked him into saying the thing!" The actress laughed as she slammed her fist against the table while holding her stomach, knowing the internet user just tricked Aidan into saying a meme.
"Wait, is it something bad?"
"Not a bad thing, it's like a japanese meme, an anime meme to be exact, about an idol girl trying to be cute so she says that."
"I see," As the actor was about to resume with the video but Y/R/N stopped him, "Wait, before you start, can you do the 'moe moe kyun' meme with the hand gestures?"
Aidan shook his head whilst smiling then resumed, "Well, they asked you the most important question. Have you ever listened to my music?"
The actress stiffened, "Did my manager really agree with the questions you picked?"
"Yes, yes, she did." He looks at her with a raised brow and an amused look then gestured to the camera, "Well, we are waiting Y/R/N."
"I-" She looks away flustered, "I'm sorry but I haven't listened to your music yet- I know I promised to listen to them but have not had the time to listen to them…"
"And why is that?" The brunette crosses his arms the look still on his face.
She nervously looks down at her feet, "It's just...I haven't been able to make time yet." He gives her a knowing look then gestures to the camera, "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?"
"I just, I just- I just think that we should move on now! How about I read the next question?" She then nears the monitor, and Aidan is silently laughing.
"So Aidan and Y/R/N, is it true you guys fought on set?" The girl quickly hides her face in her cardigan from the camera. " I should have never read the question voluntarily!"
The boy beside her chuckles, "But, to answer your question, we have never fought on set, some people just misinterpreted that we had a fight because she hit the back of my head."
The actress hides herself with the cardigan she wore, "Look! That's how I greet my friends. I know that's not how other conventionally greet others that's why I only did it to people I was close with."
"Let me," She takes in a deep breath, then removes the cardigan from her face. "Let me add some context to the story first, so I mistook Aidan for my friend Astrid without her wig on, and yes, I didn't notice he was wearing his costume!"
"So like, I greeted him by slapping the back of his head. He turned to me confused why I just did that and I ran away out of instinct and never explained it until he had the chance to corner me."
Aidan was laughing so hard, "I had to corner her because I didn't want our scenes to become awkward than they already were. When I found out the reasoning I just forgave her but told her that she really shouldn't have ran away."
"It was instinct okay! That was not the first thing I thought of when I processed I just hit you. It didn't help either that we weren't friends yet, so I thought my whole career was ruined at that moment." The (your hair color) actress covered the half of her face.
The boy smiled though it was his way of attempting to stop himself from laughing anymore at his fellow co-star’s flustered state. "Gajh1098 asked, what is that one trait we like about our character at the same time hate?"
Y/R/N gestures for Aidan to start first, "You can start first."
He nodded then prompted his chin on his hand, "I would have to say, I hate how Five is confident in himself to the point it comes off as arrogance. Being confident is not bad but if you have seen Y/R/N here-"
She jumped then exclaimed loudly, "What's that supposed to mean?!"
"She acts too confident on camera but we all know - especially the other casts members - that she's actually tamed. You can see on our interviews as a cast, that she's like that one cousin in the corner, that doesn't know what to say so she hides behind her other cousins."
The girl cringed, "Oh, god, you saw those memes? I was hoping you wouldn't."
"I was literally there to witness it," The actor laughed then, added on. "Anywho, Y/R/N acts confident but it doesn't come off arrogant. She knows her limits but Five doesn't because he thinks he can do everything by himself that he ends up not recognizing that he can't do everything himself."
Y/R/N nods, "Yeah that's kinda toxic in a way. It's kinda like how in group works. You lead the group and end up doing everything yourself, because you don't trust your teammates. I can see why you wouldn't trust them but, you shouldn't push yourself to the point where you crash down."
Aidan nods then gestures at the girl, "Your turn to answer the question."
"So the one trait I dislike and like about Y/N is that she's flexible with handling people. She is very understanding, too understanding! She knows how to interact with them very well. It's a good trait in hindsight - especially in work places - but, it's not a good trait if you become so malleable that people take advantage of it."
The actor nodded along agreeing with her words.
The actress then abruptly sat up shouting, "MY TURN! I wanna read the next question! Oh yeah, do we have to mention the usernames? Or are you going to show them on screen?"
"I usually mention them because I feel like it makes them happy-"
"Well too bad! I'm going to make their day miserable." Y/R/N cheekily grinned. "This person asked why I always hide behind other people or hold onto their clothes like a child… Can we skip this?"
The boy chuckled, "No."
"Seriously, I feel like you and my manager are trying to humiliate me for the video.” She muttered under her breath, narrowing her eyes at Aidan suspiciously, “Anyways, I'm still getting used to cameras and it's kinda instinctual for me to do that I suppose? I'm not used to cameras since I have been used to working with microphones being a voice actor first and foremost."
His hazel's eyes light up, "Oh yeah, I recall you saying you were a VA, why did you audition for the show to begin with?"
The actress scratched her nape with a wry smile, "I thought it was a voice acting job not acting. I didn't even know until I was picked that it was an acting job. I scrambled to research on acting and kept asking the others if they could give me advice on acting."
He face palmed, smiling, "Did you not read what you were screening for?"
"To be fair, it was my manager who read it out loud, I just butted in and just said yes mindlessly because I saw the character designs and thought they were cool, I'm referring to the comics by the way."
"Next question from is from wbip8581, they asked how we become close?" The brunette male read the question outloud.
"Since Aidan and I got a lot of scenes together, I asked if we could work on them - like rehearse with each other so he could give me pointers on how to deliver my character."
"We hung out but, it was more on watching reality TV shows to examine and decipher how an angry person acts or how someone similar to Y/N acts." He added onto the girl’s explanation to which she nodded along.
"I think because of him, I got into watching Hell's kitchen," Both the actress and actor laughed at how true the statement was.
The brunette male then decided to move, "For now, this is the last question since I know the video is probably going to be long with how much Y/R/N rambles-"
"HEY!" The girl pretended to look offended by putting a hand over her heart.
Aidan chuckled, "So, the last question is from Immpotato10, do you two plan to make more videos together? Assuming that the Q&A does well."
"That depends really… although I like talking to Mr. Gallagher." She says his last name mockingly which made him roll his eyes, "I don't wanna overstay my time here in his channel, and if he has good video ideas then I will probably reconsider."
“Well, I suppose that’s goodbye for now!” Aidan bid his farewell to his audience followed by Y/R/N waving her two hands at the camera like a child.

A Leap Of Faith // Five Hargreeves X Reader (Pt.1)
Some info:  Just an inspo from Demon Slayer (totally irrelevant), “Below the Surface” FNAF(also irrelevant) and of course “The Umbrella Academy” show and comics. Reader and Five are 20 for the sake of being mature content (no smut but violence, alcohol and such). I kinda follow the real plot but also not???? There may be multiple endings so be warned. I’m not new to fanfiction but its been a few years so excuse any mistake or not well written parts. Also, English is not my first language so bare with me for any grammar mistakes. Please enjoy the story!! <3
Words: 800
/Part 2/
Tumblr media
“Why? Why did you do this? Are you dumb?”
“I trust you with my life. A leap of faith.”
He smiled bitterly. “Like a leap of faith…That’s our life journey like”
She smiled, coughing up blood. “Like my love for you”

43 superpowered infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy at the start of the day. An extraterrestrial disguised as a famous entrepreneur, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, begins his journey to adopt as many of the kids as he can. In the end, he adopts seven of the children and prepares them to save the world from an unknown threat. Their name?
The Umbrella Academy
Each one of the kids had their own set of skills and paths to walk. From power, to speed, to smarts, looks and many more. Some could ask what about the rest 37…Well, that’s were I come in. Not an Umbrella Academy superhero, not a young girl living her own life. I wasn’t that lucky to be chosen or found by Mr. Hargreeves. Instead, I was raised by the “Unknown” threat, the Commission and especially by her own majesty, the Handler. In the place of saving, I was taught killing. I was taught survival of the fittest and to trust no one. “Trust is a leap of faith with a bad ending” That’s what the Handler had told me and Lila.
I’m sure you have many questions as to what happened and what I’m trying to say. So, let’s hurry up. Time is money after all.

/ I think we’re alone now playing/
Dancing was and always will be the way of the family to relax and let their personal burdens away. But a sudden gash of air, an earthquake like feeling disrupts their fun and reunites them outside to face a giant hole connecting them to another time? Place? None of them knew. Usually, Five was into that stuff but he was long gone for 15 years. Like the earth had swollen him whole.
Diego walked out the door first seeing the scenery in front of him in shock “Oh…” The wind was howling loudly pushing Allison’s hair in her face. Luther carefully helped her by pushing it behind her ear and smiled at her lightly before going in front of her protectively. “What is this?” Asked a semi confused and semi scared Vanya/Viktor as she carefully walked closer to it. Allison immediately got in front of her. “Don’t get too close!” she warned Vanya but really it was meant for all of them as she held Luther’s arm. Diego kept staring at the huge hole in front of them ”Yeah, no shit…” he said rolling his eyes slightly. “It looks like some sort of temporal anomaly” he added which of course Luther would have to comment on it. “Either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two” “Pretty big difference there,  Paul Bunyan”.
“OUT OF THE WAY!” Klaus screamed running to the front using the fire extinguisher in an attempt to help but of course no use which he proceeded with throwing the item through the hole. “What are you-“ Luther begun but his brother’s question was soon answered. Allison looked confused and pointed at the anomaly. “What is that gonna do?” “I don’t know~ Do you have a better idea?” Klaus replied whining and pouted as he raised his hands in defeat. A few thunders roared in front of them as they took and few steps back from the thing. They saw two people, an old like couple from the opposite side screaming as they tried to pass the through the hole. As the protective older brother, Luther pushed them behind him holding Allison’s hand. “Everyone, get behind me.” “Yeah, get behind us.” Diego said joining his brother at the front. They may have grown apart but thy were still a family. And a family always sticks up for one another. Klaus swayed from left to right in his high like state. “I vote for running, c’mon” he said ready to grab Vanya’s hand and run to the door.
Two loud screams stopped them from moving when suddenly the elderly couple slowly transformed into two youngsters and fell in front of them. “ Well…that was a trip I ain’t planning on repeating.” The girl said standing up and felt her outfit a bit looser. She turned to look at her companion only to find him but younger and just different. “Oh no” “Does..anyone else see lil Number Five with a fine lady, or is it just me?” Her head snapped to the drunk like man who spoke. Five stood up looking at his body, then  his friend and lastly his companion. “Shit….”

Sometimes I'd like to read a Percy Jackson and Umbrella Academy crossover where Viktor is actually the son of Zeus/Jupiter and the Hargreeves siblings discover Viktor's true heritage and mythological world.
That would be cool.
And the fact that Viktor was always locked up in the mansion during his childhood could explain that he could never be attacked by monsters and that Reginald always says (plus Allison's rumor) that our sweet boy is "ordinary" is delayed the fact that Viktor can realize that he is a demigod.
I'm just saying.

I am starting a running list of the TUA fics I've written during my binge and the angsty thoughts that inspired them. Because I'm sure my needs aren't singular.
Rip Me Apart - Let's have Viktor rip out his sibs powers in a self-sacrificing move in Hotel Oblivion.
Chase Me - Let's have Viktor want to cry but refuse to when none of them come to show support or say Allison was wrong after S3E7 so he mentally recreates the impact of his "anti-anxiety" medication.
Grocery List Goals - Oh, those anti-anxiety meds you've been taking for decades? There's gotta be some long-term side effects of those, yeah?

(((I’m still doing a TUA re-watch, so I'm still not at season 3, but I'm at work and I'm bored and this AU idea kinda wouldn’t leave me alone. it’s just a very short little blurb and I highly doubt I'll do much more with it, but it’s an idea, lmao.))).
When Vanya was four, a natural disaster had struck the city she and her mom had lived in.
For years, her mother spoke of a bright angel that had saved them both, bathing them in blinding ethereal white. Vanya remembered that light, but she also remembered the deafening, head-splitting, ringing sound of her own cries as it echoed off the rubble. It wasn't until she was 14, when she realized that that angel her mother spoke so highly of, had been Vanya all along.

✯༄
Neither of you wanted to let go of the other. But you suddenly remembered something Five had mentioned. You parted away and suddenly took him by the shoulders as you said with wide eyes:
'Wait, did you just mention an apocalypse?' you asked.
For a brief moment, as he held you, he had forgotten about it all. For the first time in decades, he had forgotten what had been his obsession: save the world from the apocalypse.
'Oh, yeah' he said bluntly.
You starred at him, questioning him with your wide eyes.
'Care to elaborate?' you asked sarcastically.
At the use of that word, he made a funny face.
'Don't say that. But yeah I jumped too far, and I found my entire family dead. I never found you and figured you were gone like everyone else.'
You felt a sting of sadness as you realized how lonely he must have been there.
'I'm sorry you had to go through this' you said with a soft voice.
'And I'm sorry you had to go through this' he said bitterly as he vaguely gestured towards everything around you.
'So... when does the world end?' you asked after a moment.
— ☽ —
Luther and Diego finally arrived on the floor where you two were. You seemed both deeply asleep and... drunk, even though that was only true for one of you two.
'Are they...?' started Luther.
'Drunk as a skunk' smiled Diego.
Luther took Five and Diego took you. They got out of the library under the curious glances of readers and people passing by.
It was by then night.
'Well we can't go back to the house' said Luther. 'It's not secure. Those psychopaths could come back at any moment.
- My place is closer, no one will look for him there' said Diego.
'What about her?' said Luther as he glanced towards you.
'She might know something about them if she was with him. She stays with us for now' decided Diego.
Inside, Five had briefly explained to you what was going to happen and when. He told you about the eyeball and how lost he felt. You still reprimanded him for drinking so much and he thought you sounded like Delores very much.
'Wait' you suddenly said.
The ground beneath your feet had barely trembled.
'I think someone is moving us' you said as you looked around you. 'We have to wake up' you explained.
You grabbed him by the arm, as usual, and you both stood over the giant gap, or fall as you'd call it.
'This time around, you're not pushing me' said Five.
'I'm sorry about last time' you apologized. 'But I have to push you, otherwise it doesn't work. When you wake up from a dream, you wake up because you fell unexpectedly, not because you decided to jump.'
He didn't admit it but you made a point. He starred at you before standing in front of you, back to the fall.
'Oh and by the way' you added. 'Please don't tell your siblings about any of this.
- Why not?
- Because I didn't feel like explaining it to them so I kind of lied...
- Wait, you saw them?
- Yes. There's been an attack, at the house. A big man and a woman in suits and masks came.
- Shit... Hazel and Cha-Cha.
- Yeah, and I kind of froze his arm and they saw it and now they just think I can freeze stuff.
- Wait, you what? How did you do that?
- We really don't have the time right now' you quickly said.
'Don't you da-' he started but too late. You pushed him over. Again.
Five woke up dizzily. The effects of the alcohol had been gone while he was in your mind, probably thanks to you, but now he could feel it all... And it felt terrible. He burped as he realized he was in Luther's arms and still holding onto Delores. Diego was holding you but you weren't awake yet. What were you still doing there?
'If you vomit on me...' started Luther.
'You know what's funny?' ignored Five. 'I'm going through puberty' he scoffed. 'Twice. And I drank that whole bottle, didn't I? Well, that's what you do when the world you love goes bye-bye' he vaguely gestured. 'Poof, it's gone... What are you guys talking about?'
'Two masked intruders attacked the academy last night' said Luther.
'Interesting choice of word' said Five. Intruders. Now that sounded much like you.
'They came looking for you' said Diego. 'So I need you to focus, what do they want?
- Hazel and Cha-Cha.
- Who? snapped Diego.
- You know I hate code names, added Luther.
- Ah, the best of the best. Except for me, of course.
- Best of what? insisted Luther.
- You know... Delores always hated when I drink. She said it made me surly-
- Hey! shouted Diego. I need you to focus. What do this Hazel and Cha-Cha want? We just want to protect you.
- Protect...? glared drunkenly Five. I don't need your protection, Diego. Do you have any idea how many people I've killed? No. I'm the Four frickin' Horsemen. The apocalypse is coming.'
He puked.
Once they arrived at Diego's place, Luther laid Five down on the bed and before Diego could decide where to put you, you suddenly woke up, slightly gasping for air. You immediately jumped out of Diego's arms as you looked around.
'You might want to slow down' said Diego.
'Hold it' you retorted. 'I'm not drunk'
'Then what were you doing there with him?'
'I stumbled upon him.
- You expect us to believe that? asked Luther.
- Uh, yeah?' you said.
You looked at Five and back at the siblings.
'I'll be at the house' you said as you quickly got out before any of them could hold you back.
Once you were back home, you spent hours in your mind, thinking about what Five had told you. Sure, you didn’t like the real world very much but you didn’t want it to end either. There had to be a way to prevent the tragedy.
You spent hours inside, weighing down all the possibilities, thinking about the probability of each event your imagination displayed for you and that could happen in the real world. You had to know how to react, it was the most important thing. And you had to be prepared for all eventualities.
The next day, you went outside around the city to train more. What you had achieved when you froze Hazel's arm was incredible, but it had also deprived you of any energy and made you exhausted. Your body has to hold the consequences of such powers, your mind was capable of great things, you just had to push yourself a little bit more. As you walked around, you tried to find the equilibrium between both worlds you had found during the fight. You had to be able to live simultaneously in both the real and your world. You took in everything around you and replicated it in your mind every minute, every second, every millisecond. For years you had been afraid to use this part of your power because you had paid the cost of it. But now you knew what was coming up, you had to master your mind. You had to be able to replicate the real world exactly without trapping yourself in your own perfect copy.
Something suddenly prevented you from focusing though. You saw the bus stopping and someone with bloody hands, a briefcase and a veteran tattoo come down. You were at the end of the road but could've sworn this was Klaus. He suddenly ran towards the bench next to the bus stop and hammered the briefcase on it. Could it be the briefcase Five had mentioned to you when he told you about his work with the Handler?
He suddenly threw the briefcase away as he screamed. You ran towards the briefcase but it exploded before you could take it. Klaus dropped to the floor as he cried.
You crouched next to him and he didn't even wince. You stroked his arm very gently until he got up and you walked him home.
You gave him water and sat him on the couch as he gasped for air and cried.
'What happened?' you simply asked with a low voice.
He turned his head, slowly, to look at you.
'(y/n)...' he said. 'I remember you...'
If Klaus didn't seem so bad himself, you'd have bursted into tears right now. You couldn't believe he remembered your name. Like all the other Hargreeves, he had probably seen you twice at best.
He looked at you, and saw your eyes turn a bright red. He felt all tension from his body melt, and suddenly warmer, like he wasn't in the living room anymore and like he'd been put in a bed of silk. The sensation didn't last long, your eyes turned back their usual (y/e/c) color but he felt better.
'h- How did you do that...?' he started.
But you hushed him kindly, like a parent would to a beloved child. He slowly started telling you about what happened, but stayed vague. You didn't mind though, you were already glad he had opened up to you. He saw how you could relate to the sadness and despair and loneliness he felt.
After that, you convinced him to go clean himself up and like an obedient child, he went upstairs as you sighed. Time travels really did more harm than good and you were starting to think so did living in your mind.
You went back to your room, proud you had provided some sense of comfort to Klaus using your powers. You could do good things with them, and that's something you never would have imagined before. You got back out of your room, and decided to go wait for Five somewhere in the house. You went upstairs and roamed the corridor slowly until you heard some noise from one of the rooms.
You followed the sound and saw Five writing on the walls with a chalk. You hadn't seen him since he was drunk and you had pushed him again over the gap before he could ask about your powers and weren't sure if he was still mad at you. You stood there, hesitantly as you read what he had written... it looked like a probability map.
'Okay, I think I've got something, Delores. It's tenuous but promising.'
You didn't hear Luther come up so he startled you when he walked past you and got inside the room.
'Who you talkin' to? What is all this?' he asked.
You felt the courage build up inside of you and followed him inside.
'It's a probability map' you said before Five could answer.
Five's head snapped, startled you were here. His brothers had told him you were home but he hadn't found you. He was worried but had to work on his equation. He was glad you were okay.
'Probability of what?' asked Luther.
'Of whose death could save the world' continued Five. 'I've narrowed it down to four.
- Are you saying one of these four people causes the apocalypse?
- No, I'm saying that their death might prevent it.
- Oh...'
You tried to hide your smile. He clearly didn't understand.
'I'm not following' whispered Luther to you.
'Time is fickle, Luther' said Five quickly. 'The slightest alteration in events can lead to massively different outcomes in the time continuum'.
'The butterfly effect' you added.
He didn't say it but he was so glad someone else than Delores could understand.
'So all I have to do is find the people with the greatest probability of impacting the time line, wherever they may be, and kill them' summarized Five.
He got down from the bed to take a book and jotted down some notes in it.
'Milton Greene' read Luther on the wall. 'So who is he, a terrorist or something?'
'I believe he's a gardener' said Five without looking away from his book.
Luther winced.
'You can't be serious... Wait, this is madness, Five. You-'
Five took out a rifle from under his bed.
'Where'd you get that?' asked Luther.
'In Dad's room. I think he used it to shoot a rhinoceros. It's similar to the model I used at work. Nice shoulder fit and highly reliable.'
'But you can't- This guy is just an innocent man!
- It's basic math, explained Five. His death could potentially save the lives of billions. If I did nothing, he'd be dead in four days anyway.'
He did make a point, you thought to yourself.
'The apocalypse won't spare anyone'
'We don't do this kind of thing!
- We are not doing anything. I am.'
'I can't let you go and kill innocent people, no matter how many lives you'll save.
- Well, good luck stopping me'.
Five turned around and looked at you.
'We need to talk' he simply said.
But before he could head out, Luther said:
'You're not going anywhere' said Luther.
'NO!' you shouted as you saw him take Delores and put her outside the window. You knew how much she meant to Five. Well... you didn't know, you had guessed she had been a huge part of his life during the apocalypse, just like the imaginary people who had been with you in your mind all these years.
Five immediately turned around, scared Luther had threatened you but saw Delores and immediately brought his gun up.
'Put... her... down...'
'Put the gun down, you're not killing anyone today. I know she's important to you so don't make me do this. It's either her or the gun. You decide'.
You sighed, baffled at the lack of maturity between these two. Luther suddenly threw her over. Your eyes turned a bright red as you suspended Delores in the air from afar. You didn't need to do it for long though as Five quickly jumped to catch her but Luther saw what you did.
'I thought you could freeze people' he suspiciously said.
Five sat down on the bed as he starred at you too.
'I hate to say this but Luther makes a point. How can you do all these things? You didn't let me ask you this back inside' said Five.
'Inside? What is he talking about?' asked Luther.

Chapter 4: Man on the Moon
Ever since the other numbers chose to leave the academy, Number One and Number Zero were the only numbers behind left. Luther mostly spent his day lazing around, uncertain of what to do next as he awaited for Mr. Monocle's missions. Y/N kept herself busy by doing her assigned chores and helping Pogo and Grace around the house, and visited Vanya from time to time under Mr. Hargreeves' orders.
Today was the same routine for Number One. The only difference was that Luther thought it would be a great idea to ride a bicycle around the house, whilst drinking a container of milk. The servant noticed this through the CCTV and giggled but, you cut off your amusement short because you had orders to follow through.
You turned on the PA system and called over the larger male's attention. "Attention, Master Luther. Mission alert. I repeat, mission alert. Mr. Hargreeves' request for your presence in his study room."
The dirty blond male stopped his shenanigans and hastily placed the bicycle against the wall, as he hurried to his room to dress up into his superhero suit. Once he finished dressing up, you escorted him to his father's office.
Heading to his father's room you couldn't help but, sneak glances towards his direction. Was he comfortable with you? Is he fine with working alone in missions? Would he mind if you assisted him?
"Do you have something on your mind Y/N?" Luther quipped, most likely catching onto the smaller girl's glances.
You let out an airy chuckle, "I'm sorry, It's just… I'm worried for you."
The larger man raised a brow, "Why would you be? I've handled a lot of missions by myself, this one is nothing new to me."
"I suppose you are right," You sighed and added, "Though that doesn't mean you can handle everything yourself, sometimes you need other people to help you."
Number One nodded, "Yeah, I see your point but," he ruffled your hair, "You have nothing to worry about, I'm Dad's Number One for a reason."
You forced yourself to keep your lips into a smile; You didn't want to tell him that being number one means nothing when it comes to life threatening situations…
"Also, Master Luther, please refrain from messing with my hair." You reminded him as you tried to salvage the neatness of your hair, which made the larger male giggle.
When you've both arrived at Mr. Hargreeves' office, you were quick to stand by the patriarch's side prepping his tea as he spoke to Luther.
"There's a biochemical substance, unknown, but dangerous, especially in the wrong hands. As my Number One, I need you to deal with the threat." The older male commanded as he jotted down things on his priceless notebook.
"I'm ready. But, uh..."
"Yes?"
"You don't need to call me by my number anymore." Number One requested.
Mr. Hargreeves' and you were intrigued by Luther's words. Why would he point out something so miniscule and have no importance to the mission?
"Why not?" Mr. Monocle inquired, his sharp gaze on Luther.
The larger male stiffened under his father's gaze, it made him feel small but pointed out. "Because I'm the only one left."
"Ah." The older man didn't seem surprised by his son's statement, though he shrugged it off as he went back to writing where he left off.
"Ouch. I'm totally not here." You sarcastically thought brushing off the pain of being ignored, was Luther even aware you were still in the same room? Or did he forget you were still there?
When Luther left the room, you raised a question to the head of the Hargreeves' family, "Mr. Monocle may I raise a question?"
The older male merely nodded and gestured for you to shoot your question.
"Why am I not sent to missions with Luther? Wouldn't it be better for him to have assistance rather than doing them alone?" You mused, subtly pointing out the dangers of doing the mission by himself.
"Ah. Simple," Mr. Hargreeves' paused as he drank his tea then spoke, "You will serve as a hindrance. Number One knows how to deal with missions by himself without my orders. You, on the other hand, would need guidance on every step of the way. Which is something I don't need in missions."
You couldn't help but bite your lower lip. Your throat was clogged with colorful words that were wanting to be spewed at the patriarch's direction, though you knew your situation better now. You were merely a servant in everyone's eyes, not a person who wants to help…
Unexpectedly, the mission Luther was sent to almost got him killed. The last thing he'd witness as a human is gunfire going off, metal clanging, air hissing, loud clattering and banging as he battled with his opponents. The whole fight ended with the larger male groaning in pain, as his body was covered with bullet wounds, knife slashes and burns from the fight. Making haste, you and Grace hurriedly pushed the wheeled stretcher to the infirmary.
"Hurry! Let's get him inside. Get that gear off him." Reginald ordered you and Grace to assist him.
The injured Luther was wheezing in pain as you took out the scissors and cut away the gear that was in the way.
"Paddles. Quickly!" Mr. Hargreeves' commanded, Grace charged the paddles then placed it on Luther's chest. The paddles whirred and buzzed but Number One was unresponsive.
"Again."
You turn up the paddles and increase the voltage. Whilst Grace charged it up and placed it on Luther's chest awaiting for his pulse to become more stable but got nothing.
The monocle cursed as he saw no improvement, "Damn it! Bring me the serum. Pogo."
Pogo walked up to Mr. Hargreeves' side and gave him the serum that was mixed with your blood and Pogo's, a modified serum that could save his life. The older man hurriedly inserted the serum into Luther's veins and pushed the liquid into him. For a moment, everyone went silent since Luther wasn't wheezing in pain anymore, unsure of what to do next, but they left the room as soon as Reginald told them to.
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
It was early in the morning, most likely around 5 am. Pogo woke you up to share his discovery with you. Groggily, you followed his lead, when your eyes met a deactivated Grace, your eyes widened, immediately awakened from your tired state.
“Mr. Pogo, was this part of the plan or did the masked people do this to her?” You murmured, your hands gripping onto the fabric of your sleepwear.
The advanced chimpanzee wore a sullen look glancing at Grace, “Mr. Hargreeves expected this would happen but, he didn’t plan to do this to Grace.”
“So it’s the masked people then… By any chance, did Mr. Monocle anticipate that other people would get involved?” You asked your eyes narrowed at the ground because you didn't know how to take your anger out.
“Yes, yes he did.” Pogo replied which made you sigh, this made you think one thing.
“Mr. Pogo… does Master Hargreeves not trust me?”
The formal chimpanzee looked away, guilt weighing his heart. “I’m afraid not.”
You could not help but feel like crap. As the servant of the Umbrella Academy and as Number Zero, you've done everything in your power to please Mr. Hargreeves and serve his family. However, in his eyes, what you were doing was not good enough, you were not trustworthy enough. As the servant of the Hargreeves family, were you not perfect enough… Did he see the cracks? The flaws you have tried so hard to hide? You could not help but blame yourself for being so incompetent and being unable to keep up to their expectations.
The older chimpanzee noticed that the servant seemed bothered by his admission, based on how she was staring into space whilst she fiddled with the fabric of her pajamas. He decided it would be best to redirect their discourse.
“Y/N you should use this opportunity to run away now. You plan to monitor Five right? Leaving now will give you a headstart.”
You shook your head no, ”I cannot… Master Luther’s already suspicious of me, I would not want to create any more discord between us.”
“Understandable," Pogo nodded, " Please inform the others that are left behind, regarding the state we found Grace in.”
The servant bowed to Pogo and did as you were told. You informed the ones who were left behind in the academy: you told Diego before he departed early in the morning, you looked for Vanya but couldn't find her, the same could be said to Klaus, you told Allison and planned to tell Luther but the Rumor stopped you claiming she would tell him herself.
You were planning to start doing your chores along with Grace's tasks but you suddenly recalled Klaus' absence. His absence worried you a bit, because his 'disappearance' occured after the masked people came to terrorize the house looking for Five.
“By any chance Miss Allison, have you seen Klaus? I can’t seem to find him.” you questioned the older woman, hoping her answer would ease your worries.
The woman in curls shook her head but wore a small smile, “Don’t worry about it Y/N, he’s probably out there doing his own thing. You have nothing to worry about, he’s a grown man and he can take care of himself.”
You forced yourself to smile once again; you understood that she meant well but it felt wrong to brush off Klaus' absence at a time like this. Though you told yourself that maybe you are just overthinking things, might as well redirect that energy to the chores that needed your attention.

It was a cloudy day, Lance, the prosthetist, spent his morning walking his dog. Once he finished taking his dog out for a walk, he carried the dog and headed to his car. Unaware of the danger he'd face the moment he stepped foot into his car. He unlocked the back door and carefully placed his dog on the backseat then went to the driver's seat to start the car.
Out of nowhere, someone blinked to the passenger seat. Before he could react, a knife was pressed against his neck by the brunette boy that had been "harassing" him, rather, threatened and scared the crap out of him for days.
"Oh, Jesus!"
"One chance. That's all you've got. One chance to tell me exactly what's going on in that lab." Five placed the blade against the prosthetist's neck, harder.
"I... I manufacture prosthetic devices for fake patients. I bill the insurance companies and then sell them for cash on the black market." Lance rambled, sweating bullets as he feared for his life.
The boy brought up, "Including eyeballs?"
"Yeah, they're my biggest seller. I mean, they sell like hotcakes. I... I've got a list, a waiting list, probably 20 buyers."
"So, the serial number I told you..."
"Uh, could've already been bought. Yes, off... off the books."
The brunette boy glared at Lance and sighed, "I needed that list, Lance. Names and numbers, and I need it now!"
"I don't have it!" The prosthetist exclaimed but, Five pressed the blade further into his neck. "I mean, not on me. The only copy's in my safe at the lab."
The boy withdrew the blade and sat on the passenger seat comfortably, like he owned the car. "Well, you start the car, then. 'Cause we're going on a field trip."
Lance let out a sigh of relief, "Okay."
"Now." Five threw a cold glare at the doctor's direction.
Despite being half Lance's size, Five's glare was enough to urge him to start the car, "Okay."

Once Luther woke up and was caught up to speed with the situation, he made a beeline to Five's room with Pogo and you in tow. The larger male rummaged through Five's things and room to look for something of use. At the moment, you and Pogo were trying to reason with him.
"Like I said, Master Luther, Number Five hasn't lived in this room since he was a boy." Pogo said watching over the comically larger male crouching and looking for something that could help him.
Luther nodded, "Yeah, I know, but we need to warn him. He doesn't even know we were attacked. He doesn't know they're looking for him, he doesn't know…"
Unexpectedly, a new pair of footsteps caught everyone's attention, everyone's eyes were redirected to the man in leather who just entered Five's room. It seemed like he had the same plan as Luther.
"What are you doing here?" Diego narrowed his eyes to Number One.
"Uh..." Spaceboy sighed then shifted his attention to his brother, "Do you know about Mom?"
"Y/N informed me before I left." The Kraken said and added, "It looks like you got what you wanted, one way or another, right?"
The whole room was silent with the latino's remark. The dirty blonde merely sighed in response to his brother's remark. Their relationship has always been like this after all, one upping the other over the smallest of things.
"Wanna tell me what you're doing here?" Luther questioned the other male.
"Looking for Five." The knife wielding vigilante briefly replied.
"Let me guess, you're gonna save the day." The larger male snided, as he rolled his eyes knowing his brother's antics.
Diego narrowed his eyes at Number One, "It's what I do. Asshоlе."
"Really?" Spaceboy stood up and looked his brother in the eye. "Last I checked, you mopped floors."
"And what do you do? Sit on the moon for four years, waiting for orders?"
Although that insult wasn't directed at you, it stung. Though you wouldn't voice that; what you said and felt didn't matter at the moment.
"Keep on being a loyal soldier after everything our father did to you."
"Master Luther and Master Diego, arguing will not be of any help in trying to find Master Five." You tried to meditate the situation but your words fell on deaf ears as the men kept arguing.
"What? You mean save my life?" The larger male defended his father.
"No, I mean... turn you into a monster."
Luther let out an exasperated sigh in response to his statement. He tried so hard to hide it from the others but they now know the truth. It was embarrassing to say the least, even though he knew he couldn't hide it forever. He couldn't help but wish they didn't see this side of him.
"Can't hide it anymore, champ." Diego mockingly pointed out.
"He had a difficult decision to make, and he made it." The dirty blonde defended their father again.
"Grow up, Luther. We're not 13 anymore."
"Making difficult decisions to save others, is what leaders do, by the way." Spaceboy desperately added, as he tried his best to paint their father in a good light.
The latino scoffed, "He sent you on that mission all alone. Almost got you killed."
"Yeah, well at least he was there. Where were you? You and everyone else in this family? You walked out." Luther hissed as he glared at Number Two.
"Everyone, please calm down-" You tried to pacify the situation but got interrupted instead.
"And thank Christ that I did, or I would have ended up just like you." The Kraken looked at him in disgust as a eureka moment occurred in his head. "Let me ask you a question. When you watch one of these nature shows…"
"Diego, please." The advanced chimpanzee begged knowing where he was going with his question.
"Does it turn you on?" The knife wielder wore a smug expression that angered Luther. It tempted Spaceboy to physically wipe off the expression on Diego's face.
"So what? Is he just an animal to you, too now, Diego, huh? Don't-"
"Enough! This house was attacked. We barely got out with our lives. And Grace... she wasn't so lucky. Your brother is missing, and this is how you rise to the occasion? Take your nonsense elsewhere. Now." Pogo's voice boomed which caught everyone off guard.
"Sorry, Pogo." Luther apologized.
"Yeah, sorry, Pogo." Diego muttered.
"Wow. It's almost like I wasn't here trying to calm them down as well." The girl silently remarked, hating the fact that no one in this household took her seriously. Was it because she looked like a little girl?
ㅤㅤㅤ❲ T H E ☕ S E R V A N T ❳
By some miracle, Luther and Diego decided to team up with you to go look for Five. They added you to their search party, since you were the one who Five kept by his side ever since he came back, and you probably had an inkling of where he was heading to. Number One was hesitant to let you join but Number Two managed to 'persuade' him. The Spaceboy, the Kraken, and the Servant headed to where they last saw the van was parked.
"This is it. He's still here. This is Five's van. Go. Go." Luther urged the others to hurry.
They - Diego and you - did as you were told and hurried. You opened the back door whilst Diego and Luther fought over the passenger seat, until Diego gave up as he rolled his eyes and reluctantly opened the sliding door at the back. The three of you looked all over the van for any signs of where Five was.
Diego whistled loudly, "I know where to find Five." He took out Vanya's autobiography, the first page littered with equations and a library stamp. The library was hours away from their current location.
"I should stay behind just in case Master Five plans to come back here." You said, assuming the possibility he would come back to the van.
The dirty blonde seemed hesitant to let you stay behind without anyone keeping an eye on you but Diego butted in before his brother could say anything nonsensical - his words, not yours.
“Yeah, we need someone to check on the van just in case he comes back, just message me if he comes.” Number Two ordered which you bowed to.
They left you behind to head to the libraries that were nearby, with Luther occasionally peeking over his shoulder making sure you'd stay in the van. You sat on the passenger seat and waited for Five to show up.
As time passes, you grow bored, your attention drifting from one thing to another. Suddenly, you saw two well dressed people entering the prosthetic building. They wore similar suits to the masked people but, you couldn't verify if they were the same people since they didn't wear a mask. Out of caution, you called the police over the nearest phone booth and reported them about suspicious individuals entering the building.
Just in cue, Five arrived at the prosthetic building. As he and Lance were heading to the entrance of the building, the brunette smelled something familiar - fire. Alert coursed through the boy's veins, he hurriedly ran to the entrance of the building. The fire from within the building roared and the fire alarm rang for help, which increased the adrenaline and his pace. He was about to enter the entrance and try to salvage the only lead he had, only to be pulled back by his collar, the glass shattered and exploded which grazed Five.
The flabbergasted brunette sat on the pavement watching as his only hope to save the world was burning right in front of him. He felt helpless watching it all burn away, it was the only thing he could do, as he thought of one thing, we are all doomed.
"Master Five, are you alright?" You asked as you removed your hands from his collar and crouched to his level, a worried look etched onto your facial features.
"What are you-" Five was taken aback by your presence then narrowed his brows at you. "How long have you been here?"
"Long enough to see the masked people come in…" You muttered looking away, you had a gut feeling he would lash out on you again.
"Why didn't you stop them!?"
"I didn't know I was supposed to stop them, I assumed you were already inside, that's why they came in. Plus, you told me to stay out of your way last time, so I just called the police again-" You tried to explain only to be interrupted by a glare and Five scoffing at you, "You're useless!"
"You haven't changed one bit!" The brunette hissed, venom seething through his words; It made you flinch. You tried to assist him to stand up, only for your hand to be swatted away.
"You are still a puppet waiting for someone to pull your strings. You can't even think for yourself without someone's orders! Is it that hard to think for yourself just for once?!" The boy exclaimed angrily as he stood up in his own accord, without your assistance.
"You know my goal is to stop the apocalypse but, you let this happen."
"I'm sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to -"
"You not knowing does not cut it! You just lost me the only lead I had!"
You froze in your place, as you fidgeted with your skirt's frills. Five was right… Despite following orders, you have caused nothing but trouble to him and everyone else. You have tried your best to help everyone but, why do you keep messing up everything?
"Rossweisse, If your plan all along was to sabotage me then, expect me to get rid of you. Luther already told me you might have something to do with the old man's death and I could care less about that but, you getting in my way is something I won't stand for." Five declared as you watched him walk away, again. A heavy weight on your heart.
You left the front of the burning prosthetics building, noticing the sirens were getting louder, to avoid any more attention you sat on a nearby park's bench, Five's words deeply engraved into your head. The only thing that brought you back to reality was the sound of your phone's notification going off.
Tumblr media
You did as you were told and met up with Diego and Luther. You carried Delores, whilst the larger male carried the drunk Five in his arms. Throughout the whole walk, you were quiet because your own thoughts were clouding your head.
"Well, we can't go back to the house. It's not secure. Those psychopaths could come back at any moment." Luther pointed out.
The latino suggested, "My place is closer. No one will look for him there."
The brunette in spaceboy's arms belched, which made the dirty blonde sighed and gave Five a 'look'. "If you vomit on me..."
"You know what's funny? Aah! I'm going through puberty." The boy scoffed then continued speaking, "Huh. Twice. And I..." Five chuckled under his drunken breath, "I drank that whole bottle, didn't I? That's what you do when the world you love goes bye-bye. Poof, it's gone. What are you guys talking about?"
"Two masked intruders attacked the Academy last night. They came looking for you. So I need you to focus. What do they want?" Luther questioned, eagerly awaiting answers from the boy in his arms.
"Hazel and Cha-Cha." He drunkenly answered with a poor attempt of a smile.
"Who? You know, I hate code names." Diego remarked as he played with the knife in his hand to calm his nerves.
The boy explained. "Ah, the best of the best. Except for me, of course."
"The best of what?" Spaceboy pestered his 'younger' brother.
"You know, Delores always said she hated when I drank. She said it made me surly…"
"Well, you certainly act the opposite of it." The girl internally pointed out, as Five was more tamed than his usual self.
"Hey!" The male in black leather impatiently shouted.
The drunk Five smiled drunkenly, unaffected by Diego's impatience, "Hm? Yeah?"
"I need you to focus. What do Hazel and Cha-Cha want? We just wanna protect you." Number Two reasoned, only for his worry to be scoffed at.
"Protect me? I don't need your protection, Diego. Do you have any idea how many people I've killed? No. I'm the Four frickin' Horsemen. The apocalypse is coming." The brunette explained then vomited over Luther's shoulder then went back to sleep.
The 'Five search party' arrived at Diego's place, which is the Boiler room underneath Al's place. Luther carefully placed the sleeping Five on Diego's bed. Whilst you placed Dolores on an empty chair and sat beside the top half of a mannequin.
The latino took one good look at the boy's sleeping figure, "Funny. If I didn't know he was such a prick, I'd say he looks almost adorable in his sleep."
"Well, don't worry. He'll sober up eventually. Be back to his normal, unpleasant self." Luther muttered, keeping his voice down, while you silently agreed to his statement.
"Yeah, I can't wait that long. I need to find out what his connection is with these lunatics before someone else dies." Number Two said as he paced back and forth.
"All that stuff he was saying before… What do you think he meant by that? Y/N, do you know what he meant by it?"
You were about to answer Luther's question but footsteps that were approaching Diego's room caught everyone's attention. The vigilante cautiously approached the door and readied his blade as he cracked the door open ready to throw it at the 'intruder'.
"You throw another one of those goddamn knives at me, I'm pressin' charges!" Al exclaimed angrily, most likely exasperated by how it was a common occurrence.
Diego let out a sigh of relief and fully opened the door, "What do you want, Al?"
"I ain't your secretary." The gym owner snarked with a grouch, "Some lady called for you, said she needs your help."
"What lady?" Number Two placed his blade back into place, curious about the lady Al was referring to.
"I dunno. Some, uh, detective. I think she said her name was, uh, Blotch or somethin'." The old man tried to recall as he scratched the back of his nape.
"Patch? She needs my help…"
Al nodded confirming the name was what he heard then added, "She needs you to meet her at that motel, a dump on Calhoun."
"When?"
"About half an hour ago. Uh, said she found your brother."
"Well, that doesn't make sense…" Diego looks at his 'missing' brother who was currently snoozing on his bed.
"Klaus…" You muttered and then pointed out, "He hasn't been home since the shooting, the masked people probably took him as hostage!"
"Go. I'll wait here," Number One said, well more like gave his brother permission to leave. Without another word, Diego slammed the door closed as he ran.
"...With them." Luther muttered as he glanced at you and Five. The awkward atmosphere reigning the boiler room.

A Leap Of Faith // Five Hargreeves X Reader (Pt.2)
Some info:  Just an inspo from Demon Slayer (totally irrelevant), “Below the Surface” FNAF(also irrelevant) and of course “The Umbrella Academy” show and comics. Reader and Five are 20 for the sake of being mature content (no smut but violence, alcohol and such). I kinda follow the real plot but also not???? There may be multiple endings so be warned. I’m not new to fanfiction but its been a few years so excuse any mistake or not well written parts. Also, English is not my first language so bare with me for any grammar mistakes. Please enjoy the story!! <3
Words: 2.1k

 /Part 1/
Explaining to the guys what happened and who the girl was, was a mess Five had nor the patient or the mood to do. So y/n tried her best to explain as calmly as she could. “We’ve been working in an organization kind of company doing missions for the past 30 something years.” y/n said as she took a sip of water that Vanya offered her. She looked at Five who was making a peanut butter sandwich. Luther was getting even more confused. After hearing Five’s explanation of time travelling, the Commission and the apocalypse coming he felt like he had lost every connection with reality. “So…you guys are actually 58?” Diego asked piecing the newly acquired information together. “Our consciousness is 58. Currently, we are stuck int the bodies of our 20 year old selfs.” Five explained cutting the sandwich and passing half to y/n. Y/n smiled at him, mouthing a thank you and turned to face the confused family. “We basically had to transfer out consciousness to the last existing body that existed in this timeline” she added which from their expressions she could understand they were beyond confused. “Are you two fucking?” Klaus asked which made both Y/n and Five choke on their sandwiches. “Far from it, we worked together. Partners” Five said and patted Y/n’s shoulder. “I’m gonna go get some decent coffee” he told her and blinked away. She was a bit worried about him since they may be chased by the Commission but she had to hide how she felt. It wasn’t new for y/n to do so. After working with Five she had learnt to hide her one side love feelings for him quite well. That along with her worry about his well being.
Allison was watching them standing besides Luther and cleared her throat. “Care to explain to us what happened? Like from the start?” she asked y/n and smiling she nodded. “I would have many questions if I were you as well. I can’t really tell you much about how Five survived the apocalypse before the Handler found him. But I can certainly fill you in about some of our adventures together.” Y/n said and stood up. Walking up and down she started telling them about how together they passed the last 30 years. The family looking at her as if nothing was more interesting in the room. After all, they ere all worried about Five being gone all these years
.
.
.
“Y/n we have a new recruit working on desk 35. You will be his partner. Lila works better alone and you are not ready to work alone. His name is Five. I’m sure you’ll be able to warm him up.” The handler said as she guided Y/n through the office. “Yeah, yeah…Lila is so good and strong I get it.” She replied rolling her eyes. Don’t get her wrong. She loved Lila like a sister but this discrimination their “mother” had against her was making her sick. Y/n was not weak or less capable than Lila. Her powers just requested someone to guide her body while she possessed the enemy.
Y/n left the Handler behind walking to the desk she was told she would meet the young man. “33…34.. 35!” she counted and looked at the chair only for her to stop breathing. She had seen many hot guys during her life but literally no one had taken her breath away. She felt like for the first time she was the one losing control of her mind. “Can I help you?” an irritated voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she shook her head. “Y-You are Five right?” The young man rolled his eyes. “Am I that famous? If so you could at least bring me some good coffee. The machine on this floor is broken and most employees here drink tea.” He said and went back to typing away at his typewriter. Y/n blinked a few times. “I can totally get some coffee. I’m Y/n. I am…actually your appointed partner for the ‘missions’.” She added and smiled at him. Five turned to face her and her smiled instantly warmed his heart. He felt like he could at least talk to her. She seemed smart and could actually reply to him, unlike Delores. No No…let’s not ahead of himself. He was loyal to Delores. She was the one by his side when he had no one…But then again some company wouldn’t trouble him. “I would really appreciate it. Black please” he said in his monotone voice and went back to typing. Y/n nodded and walked out to go get the both some coffee.
.
.
.
Present Day
“It was hilarious seeing him spit out the coffee I got him. Turned out he didn’t like the offices coffee so going out for some coffee became a routine for us. Y/n said and laughed remembering how they first met. Vanya smiled as well. “Sounds like you two are good friends” she said and y/n looked at her. “That’s one way to describe our relationship. We are not actually friends but not simple coworkers either.” She added and sat back down. “Our time with the Commission wasn’t all happiness and jokes. If it was he wouldn’t want to leave so badly…Actually, I think he would leave the Commission even if it was paradise. He may not look like it but he missed you guys. He talked to me about you guys and you could see his eyes being happy.” She said and looked at them. She could see that they were all touched by knowing that little detail about how Five felt. Klaus touched his cheek tilting his head to the side” Aww lil brother Five actually loves us”. Y/n and the guys laughed at this except Diego. He stayed still as a rock thinking. “What did you mean with the Commission not being a happy place? It sounds normal.” Diego asked. Signing Y/n nodded and sat back down at the chair fiddling with her fingers. “Our job was not an office job. We were assasins. The Handler promised that if Five did her dirty work, she would allow him to come back. Of course, that never happened. After each mission, she would tell him he had to do more.”
.
.
.
“Y/N! Did you see what we are asked to do? How can we go there? It’s a suicide mission” Five whispered full of anger as they were sneaking into the warehouse. “I’ll take care of the guard and you sneak inside okay?” y/n only said to him. She closed her eyes and to five it looked like she just took her last breath. Next thing he heard was the guard walking to the wall and smashing his head against it until he was dead for good. Y/n took back a deep breath and Five immediately held her. “What just happened…how did you do that?” he asked her. “I moved my consciousness to his body and killed him. Simple.” She said as if it was not a big deal.
Five couldn’t recognize her at that moment. Her eyes had lost their usual glow, her soft smile was erased from her sweet face. She looked different. Thinking about what she told him his eyes widened. “You..you committed suicide to kill the guard?!” He asked shocked  and y/n stood up walking inside. “After a few years death and suicide don’t have the same meaning.” She said quickly. The rest of the mission was a shock for Five but also Y/n. She felt awful. Every time she moved to another body, killed them and went back to her own was like she was having multiple heart attacks. Watching Five blink around and kill was amusing to her. She felt the rush of adrenaline hit her hard. It was like doing her job and amusing Five was her new goal. She wanted him to see her as a strong woman and not as a weak child. “Y/N!” Five’s scream snaped her out of her mind just in time before she was shot. Five blinked to her grabbed her and blinked them behind the last guy killing him. “Are you stupid? What were you thinking? I can see why The Handler didn’t trust you alone” He said frustrated as he pushed his hair back. He wasn’t actually mad at her but what if she got hurt? He was worried. No…No he wasn’t worried. He didn’t care at all. He only did this for his family…right?
Y/n was shocked and hurt by his words. She was grateful he saved her but her plan to awe him backfired “You are right…I’m sorry..” was the only thing she said dropping her head down. As anyone would expect the drive home was quite and awkward. Five wanted to apologize but he found himself being a coward and selfish.
.
.
.
“I want to come with you” Y/n said looking at Fives wall which was full of equations and graphics. “No! It’s dangerous, not safe and I don’t want to risk you. Your family is here. You have your life here. Mine is not here.” Five told her as he was fixing his suit. Now both of them being 58, their relation was not only as coworkers for sure. They had build a certain level of skinship between them and trust. “Five, let’s be honest, just time travelling won’t work. Let me try to transfer our consciousness to our bodies in that time line” y/n said sitting on his bed. Her intelligence and grasp of things never seized to amaze him. She had a point. His teleportation and her mind transferring could accomplish the plan better. “Are you sure you are willing to leave everything you know behind for me?” He asked her walking closer. Y/n stood up and connected her forehead with his, cupping his face. “This is a leap of faith I am willing to make.”
.
.
.
The brothers and sisters were shocked at what Y/n had just explained to them. “I am also one of the kid born on October 1st 1989…as is my sister Lila. She is a strong bitch if you ever get on her bad side.” She said jokingly. “I am more interested in your powers though Y/n…We have similar powers yet so different. I can’t imagine having to “kill” myself in order to defeat an enemy. Allison commented and Klaus jumped in. ”I can! I totally relate with you my friend. Death is so weird. Like being high” he said and laughed. Y/n looked at the time and stood up. “Five, has been gone for a while. Is there a place-“ she was cut off by the front door opening and closing. Five walked past them and Y/n rushed to the staircase meeting a bloody Five, a not so unfamiliar sight. “They found us” Five told her and she swallowed hard. “The chip right..” He nodded and walked to her. “We have to take yours out too.” He said and carefully held her hand, rubbing just above her wrist which was scared and with dried blood. “You took yours out?” He asked and looked at her. “When?” she took his hand and smiled. “I had to before I came to your room this morning” Y/n said and looked at his siblings. “They will most likely find us soon. And the apocalypse is 8 days away” Five nodded. “I guess we go back to work then”

A Lie About Death
Viktor returns to the Academy for his father's funeral, having run away 14 years prior without a goodbye. He wasn't expeting a heartfelt reunion, but the broken nose Allison gives him is enough to take him by suprise.
Things get more confusing when Allison keeps insisting that Viktor is supposed to be dead.
Or:
Viktor blinks. He looks different, sure, but does his own sister really not recognise him? It has been over a decade, but… “It’s me.”
“Who’s ‘me’?”
“Viktor.”
The minute he says his name, Allison’s eyes flash dangerously. She takes a menacing step forward, body slinking in the way it always did when she was preparing for a fight. “Cut the bullshit. Who the hell are you and why do you look like my baby brother?”

Viktor feels so young as he inserts the key into the lock of his childhood home. He has absolutely no idea what will be waiting for him inside. But he knows he has to do this. His siblings deserve to know that he’s okay.
With a deep breath, Viktor unlocks the door and steps inside. Everything looks exactly the same as it did 14 years ago when he ran away in the middle of the night. Not even the portraits have been taken down, despite the Academy’s disbanding years ago.
It’s bittersweet as Viktor ventures deeper into the house that always felt like a prison. There’s so many memories. Most of them are sad.
His gaze lingers on Five’s portrait, hanging above the fireplace. He exhales deeply. God, he misses Five, even after all this time. Ben, too. It aches in his heart.
The sound of heels clacking against the hardwood floor makes Viktor turn, just in time to see Allison walk into the room. Immediately, two pairs of brown eyes meet. Viktor’s breath stutters in his chest as he looks at his sister.
Allison’s grown up. It’s not an exciting revelation, but it’s still Viktor’s first thought. Sure, he’s followed his sister’s journey through Hollywood through T.V. screens, but it’s so much different to see it in person.
“Um… hi,” Viktor says, wincing at how the words seem to fall flat in the tense atmosphere.
Allison narrows her eyes, shifting from one foot to another with her arms crossed over her chest. “Hi. Who are you?” Her tone is accusing.
Viktor takes two steps backwards. What…? “Allison, I know it’s been a while, but--?”
“Stop!” Allison demands. Viktor can just barely make out the tremble in her voice. “Who. Are. You?” She crowds into Viktor’s space, backing the both of them up until Viktor’s back hits the wall.
“I’m Viktor, Allison, I don’t know--” The jab comes at him too quickly for him to dodge out of the way. A half-strangled yelp escapes him as he brings a hand up to clutch at his now bleeding nose. Allison had… punched him? What the fuck?
“Viktor is dead. Who the hell do you think you are, coming in here and pretending to be him? Do you want money? Are you really that pathetic?”
The pain in his nose and the words are all too much. Viktor lets out a strangled whimper. “Allison, it’s me!” Blood drips into his mouth, and he gags at the taste.
His sister hesitates, the rigidity in her composure wavering for only a second. But then she’s back to being cruel and angry, grabbing both of Viktor’s wrists and pinning them against the wall. They’re so close that Viktor can see the tears glimmering in her eyes. “I’m running out of patience!”
The doors to the foyer burst open, and Diego rushes in, having heard the commotion. There’s a moment of silence as he observes the scene in front of him.
“Diego, what’s happening?” Viktor asks, too confused and terrified to keep the hysteria out of his voice. “I don’t understand--”
“Shut the hell up! You don’t get to come in here and impersonate my dead brother!” Allison snarls, pressing Viktor’s wrists harder into the walls. Her nails dig into his skin until it breaks, and little drops of blood roll down his arms. Viktor gasps, the sharp sting shocking her.
Diego breaks out of his frozen stupor. “Who the hell is this bitch?” he asks, a deadly lilt to his tone as he takes out one of his knives and flips it in his hand. Viktor stares at him, unable to fit this Diego with the one she’d known.
His Diego hadn’t been nice, even on the best of days, but he would never, ever hurt anyone in their family. Not even Luther. He was always trying to protect them.
But this Diego seems content to threaten him, and probably even follow through. It’s startling and terrifying.
Allison releases one of Viktor’s wrists to grab his chin sharply, forcing Viktor to look into her eyes. “Answer his question.”
Viktor shakes his head wildly, nose aching at the movement. “I’m Viktor”
Diego’s lip curls in the most ferocious snarl he’s ever seen from him. “Rumor him,” he tells Allison.
His sister hesitates, but opens her mouth. Viktor flinches back. It was never fun to be on the receiving end of a rumor. “I heard a rumor that you answered all of our questions honestly,” his sister says, voice ringing around Viktor’s head as he feels a part of his free will being ripped away.
Diego steps forward as soon as his head stops ringing from the mind control. “Who are you?” he demands.
“I’m Viktor Hargreeves!” Their reaction is instant as they both rear back. Allison lets go of Viktor's wrists, and immediately he stumbles away. “Please, I don’t understand!” His words come out in a sob.
Allison and Diego stare at him as if he’s a phantom. Neither of them know what to do with his honest answer, apparently. Diego is the first to recover. “What the hell?” he asks, sounding shocked and angry and upset. Allison keeps staring at her. “Did the rumor work?”
“It did. It’s never not worked,” Allison mumbles, pressing one hand to her stomach. Viktor backs himself into a corner, trembling. “Viktor?”
He looks up at his name, staring into his sister’s confused and awe-struck eyes. “Allison, please,” he whispers.
Diego’s knife clatters to the floor as he takes a tentative step closer. “Viktor, are you… is this real?” he asks, scanning him from head-to-toe. “You’re alive?” His eyebrows are drawn together in a tight crease.
The rumor still in effect, Viktor immediately replies, “Yes.” His voice is nothing more than a whimper.
He doesn’t understand. A sob bursts from him as he clutches his nose, feeling the broken bone underneath his fingers. It hurts, but what hurts even more is that Allison did it to him, for reasons unknown.
“No, shit, no, don’t cry, don’t--” Allison says, taking a quick step closer. Viktor flinches back, skittering away from her. Immediately, Allison freezes, a horrified expression painted on her face. “Oh, God, Viktor. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t know!”
Approaching footsteps capture the attention of all three people in the room. Pogo stumbles into the room in a hurry, cane tapping against the floor. He stops short when he catches sight of them. “Oh,” he sighs. “Master Viktor, I should take you to the infirmary.”
Viktor stares at the chimp. “Pogo, what’s happening?”
Pogo shifts uncomfortably, glancing at Diego and Allison. “I can explain when you’ve been checked up, but right now--”
Diego grabs the knife off the floor and takes a threatening step closer to Pogo. “You knew. You knew my baby brother was alive.” It’s a condemnation if Viktor’s ever heard one. Allison whirls on Pogo, too.
“You must understand, your father--”
“I don’t have to understand shit! You told us he was dead!” Diego rages. Allison nods, falling into step beside him.
“Please, you must-- it was better--”
“You told them I was dead?” Viktor asks, his quiet voice cutting through the conversation like a knife. Everyone turns to look at him. Pogo with guilt, and Diego and Allison with that same awed expression. “You told them… You told my siblings that I was dead?” He wishes that his tone was hard and mean, like Diego’s, but it comes out soft and whimpering.
He’s come to terms with Pogo’s hand in his and his siblings’ abuse, but he never thought… he never imagined that he would sink that low.
Pogo’s eyes trail to the floor. “Your father believed it would be better if they were not distracted--”
“Shut up.” Allison interjects, her tone burning hot steel. “You should leave, Pogo.”
He looks about ready to object, but then Viktor covers his mouth and begins to sob in earnest, and he nods slowly and takes his leave, glancing over his shoulder to throw a concerned look at the sobbing man.
“Viktor,” Allison mumbles. “Viktor, I’m so sorry. We should have known… Oh, God…”
Viktor shakes his head. It’s certainly not their fault. Dad and Pogo are the ones to blame. “It’s okay,” he says through his tears. “It- it’s fine.”
Diego lets out a deep exhale. “It’s not fine. Fuck, Viktor, you need to get checked out. You might have a concussion.”
Viktor’s pretty sure he doesn’t, but even so, his broken nose requires medical attention. “Okay,” he agrees, trying to quell his sniffles. Ever so hesitantly, Allison reaches out, gently taking Viktor’s hand in hers. She leaves plenty of time for the smaller man to object, but Viktor doesn’t. Instead, he grips Allison’s fingers as tightly as he can without hurting her.
And then Allison is wrapping an arm around his shoulders and pulling him along to look for Mom, Diego trailing behind them like a guard. Both of them keep looking at him like he’ll disappear the moment they turn their gazes away for too long.
They find Mom in the kitchen, humming as she bakes some cookies. When she hears her children approaching, she turns. The smile on her face twitches as she catches sight of them. “Oh, dear, what have you children done now?” she chastices, approaching Viktor and cupping his face in gentle hands. She moves his chin side to side in an effort to observe the damage.
It’s subtle, but her fingers are trembling.
Viktor tries to give his mother a reassuring smile. “Hi, Mom.”
“Hello, darling. What on earth happened?”
Allison makes a choked, guilty noise. No one speaks. How are any of them supposed to explain? But their mom seems to understand. “Ah, no matter. I’ll be sure to patch you right up!” Her humming resumes as she briskly guides Viktor to the infirmary. Allison and Diego continue to trail behind them.
It doesn’t take long for Grace to patch up her son. Viktor does let out a pained keen when she sets his nose, the noise causing Allison to flinch. Diego even stiffens, hands clenching and unclenching rapidly.
When it’s done, Grace tells Viktor to wait in the infirmary so they can check for symptoms of a concussion, and then takes her leave. Viktor hates to see his mother go, but he’s glad to have some time with Diego and Allison, who practically demanded they stay with him. Allison sits by his bedside while Diego leans against the wall.
The conversation is awkward at first. “Uh… hi,” Viktor mumbles, rubbing his cot’s thin, uncomfortable blanket between his thumb and forefinger.
Allison smiles. “Hi,” she whispers. Her hand reaches out and brushes a strand of Viktor’s hair behind his ear. The touch is strange. Even before Viktor left the academy, physical affection was rare. After the academy, he was too shy and isolated to have anyone to touch.
But his sister’s fingers are gentle, almost reverent, as they skim his forehead. Viktor can’t help but lean into the touch subtly. “I’m sorry,” Allison says. “For everything.”
He shakes his head, brushing it off so quickly. “No, it’s fine, you didn’t know--”
“We should’ve,” Diego growls. His scowl softens when their eyes meet. “We all know Dad’s a liar, we should’ve known he’d lie about…” he trails off, eyes going unfocused before he snaps back to reality. Allison nods.
“What did he tell you?” Viktor asks, unable to help his curiosity. Allison and Diego share a look.
“He told us you got sick. At first, he just said you were in quarantine, but then…” Allison begins, but the words, which she’s always been a master at crafting, fail her completely. Her eyes squeeze shut as Diego finishes her sentence.
“He said you had a heart attack,” he says shortly. “If I had known he was lying I would’ve killed that bastard myself.” There’s a deadly promise in his voice, but Viktor can’t find it in himself to be concerned.
Rather, he feels oddly flattered. His brother threatening violence on his behalf is the closest thing he’s had to love since Ben died. “I’m sorry. I never would have left if I had known--”
“You were right to leave. It was r-re-... really br-rave,” Diego tells him, his dark brown eyes looking directly into his, as if to make sure he internalizes his message. Then he recovers from his seriousness, and a small smirk ghosts across his lips. “For what it’s worth, I’m glad you’re not dead.”
Allison goes stiff, studying Viktor’s reaction to the dark joke. Even Diego seems nervous.
But then he giggles and they both relax, smiling. It’s been so long since they heard their brother’s laugh. God, they missed him so much.
They spend a long time in the infirmary, uncaring about the fact that the rest of their family is no doubt searching for them. Allison eventually crawls into the cot to hold her brother, while Diego takes up his bedside seat.  They'll explain Viktor's presence to the rest of the family later, once they’ve gotten their fill. Maybe that’s a little selfish, but neither of them can bring themselves to leave their baby brother. Especially when he dozes off in Allison’s embrace, right after murmuring, “I love you guys.”
And the best part is that he knows they love him, too.

I know it might seem like I've abandoned Grocery List Goals to work on other stories, but I have been writing it! Hoping to get a chapter up tonight.
-----
"Are you okay?" Five blurts out and Vanya gives him a confused look.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Missing memories is a big deal."
She dips her hands in her pocket. Finds the stress ball. Holds it gently.
"Maybe," Vanya admits. "But I don't know what I'm missing. I mean, some of our time as kids, but I don't…" she trails off.
The memories someone has brought up that Vanya can't recall are evening hang outs, or after events she'd probably found stressful at the time. They're moment with her siblings that have slipped through her fingers, and she doesn't know how many of them there are. If she had remembered them, would she had felt closer to them? Less alone? Less likely to blow up the moon?
She thinks of Allison, and then Diego leaving shortly after they turned eighteen. Of learning about Allison's wedding through celebrity magazines, of Luther turning down her invitations to dinner the first year she was back in the city after school.
She thinks of Leonard being her first boyfriend, but not her first date. How she'd always been nervous and took her anxiety medication before meeting them, and how not remembering much of the dates the next day, to her, was an indication she hadn't enjoyed herself. Could she have found someone to fill her life? A partner, or even a friend, whose first impression she deemed lack luster when really it was just brain fog?
"Vanya?"
She tilts sideways, letting her head fall onto Five's shoulder and he goes stiff and still. She's done this often enough at home she knows it's not because he doesn't like it, but because he's worried of dislodging her head.
"Okay, maybe a big deal," she admits.
