Actually shocked I've been able to study today seeing as I accidentally woke up at 4:40 AM, worked out at 6, had a two hour work meeting at 8, and then ran another errand before finally sitting down at my desk 😅
This Genmai Cha is saving my life, thank you toasty rice and green tea 💚

Note the dropping of the unnecessary exposition panel. Otherwise, thus far the page lay outs are actually matching up. That changes a little here.

This is Harry Lucey, moving into establishing his style for Archie, and Dan Decarlo, just after his shackles to draw like Montana were removed. Had Lucey drawn the story a couple years later, I imagine it may have gotten the reprintings -- arguably a better depiction for this 1950s era "Psycho Chick Betty". As it were it is off model enough -- and has an uncomfortable title to boot.

Archaic conjugation:
'You say to yourself that you're done, yet you aren't' becomes 'Thou sayest to thyself that thou'rt done, yet thou art not.'
It worketh [works] all day.
The 'eth' form is not used for plural subjects, so 'they go to the shop' doesn't change. Subjunctive sentences often don't change as well, unless you go back to the English of Geoffrey Chaucer, such as that of the Canterbury Tales.
However, be is sometimes used for plural subjects: 'Be the warriors ready for battle?' Be can also be used instead of if in subjunctive clauses, as in the following, where it acts like 'if': ‘Be this that which the so-called “Starred” bid to further spin some tale, be that they speak through me, then may the wind dry this mouth to a withered, deadened, hollowed shell.’
The last example is from the first chapter of my novel, Fallwind, which can be found here: https://rowanbyrneauthor.wordpress.com/2023/09/18/chapter-1-farm-raised/

Does learning to conjugate Spanish verbs make you want to hit your head against a brick wall?
Same here, but day by day, I feel less agitated by the concept. I think that’s due in large part to this cool app. I’m not affiliated with them, I just think it’s a really awesome tool. The free version gets you LOADS of practice with the present and preterite tenses, and if you decide you love it and want to practice all the tenses, it’s only $6 to support a lovely developer and unlock the whole app for life.
I use ConjuGato in conjugation with (see what I did there?) SpanishDict’s cheat sheet tables. I write out and sing a silly song to memorize all of the endings for each tense, and then rapid fire (or not so rapid when I’m first learning a new tense) work through as many verbs in ConjuGato as my brain can handle before steam starts rolling out of my ears. Honestly, I don’t even focus very much on learning the infinitive verbs that I don’t know in the app, I just try to breeze through the words.
ALSO, you have control over which tenses it shows you (so when I’m first learning a particular tense, I turn off all of the other ones) and you have the option to turn off vosotros endings if you’re focused more on Latin American Spanish like me :)
Best of luck to you friends!

Exploring Spanish Verbs and their Cultural Significance
The Heartbeat of Spanish Like the steady rhythm of a heartbeat, delving into Spanish verbs reveals the pulse of fluent communication. Just as in English, verbs propel action and convey meaning, yet exploring Spanish verbs leads us into a rich linguistic terrain where each beat carries nuanced shades of expression, diverging from their English counterparts. Learning these verbs is like tuning…

"Para ñga po diyán sa tabí"
Whenever we need to get off the jeepney, we all say “para” to the driver. By now, I believe most Filipinos already know that para is Spanish for “stop”, conjugated from the verb “parar” (to stop). To students of Spanish grammar, it is also known that para is the informal imperative form. Therefore, in Tagálog, para means “humintó ca” (you stop). Not so polite, isn’t it? Meanwhile, the formal…

Verb conjugation in Old English (c.1500) was way more varied than it is today:
1st person sin.: I take
2nd person sin.: thou takest
3rd person sin.: he/she/it taketh
1st person plu.: we taken
2nd person plu.: ye taken
3rd person plu.: they taken
Compare that to verb conjugation in English today:
1st person sin.: I take
2nd person sin.: you take
3rd person sin.: he/she/it takes
1st person plu.: we take
2nd person plu.: you take
3rd person plu.: they take
I feel sorry for speakers of Old English. Not only did they have to contend with thou/thee and ye/you, they also had to learn all these bizarre verb conjugations!

something very cute about english is how "audio" and "video" both seem like they could be abbreviations of longer, more technical english words, but in actuality they're just the latin words for "i hear" and "i see"

things that seto kaiba is almost certainly bad at:
singing
playing literally any kind of instrument
learning languages (i will concede that he can read and write well in "business" languages like Chinese or English but a uvular r would kill him and also you can speak well enough to get through a meeting but that doesn't mean you're conversationally adept!!!)
dancing (a man with negative rhythm)
casual conversation
picking his own outfits
speaking in an inside voice
