Scott was sure he'd fail school. He never thought he'd make it this far but he did and he had. School was hard, college was hard, and grad school was hard, but he'd made it and he celebrated. I’m applying to vet school for the second time, and I’m genuinely not sure that I want to go now.

I couldn’t tell you if it’s my dream or my family’s dream at this rate.

I don’t know if I want to work in a clinic day in and day out, I’m fearful of going to Vet School, but I’m more fearful of missing out on life. I’m scared that life will continue to just pass me by instead of happening to me, and I know that its happening right now anyways.

I worry that I won’t have time for myself if I go back to school, and I might as well give up on even trying to ride horses and take reining lessons.

I’m just tired of always needing a plan for life, and some days I feel that going to vet school will be more of a stressor on me. It’s not fun or exciting for me most days.

Does anyone have any advice? Whether you’re a pre-vet or Vet med student now, it would be appreciated.

December update

I passed my first semester! 📝 Went to the movies quite a lot this month. Im always in awe of the beautiful architecture in the south of this city. 🌆 The number of rottweilers 🐕 we get at the hospital with trypanosomiasis 🪱 is getting concerning now. We had this poor dog with right atrial enlargement and in CHF 🫀and A fib with a HR of 240. The owners declined further diagnostics/ interventions and signed up for a euth.
