skam españa’s split season with nora and viri made sense and we see that legit in the opening clip. they had contrasting financial situations, contrasting emotional situations, etc etc. but skam france’s season 8 makes no sense and honestly it’s really really poorly done. focusing on the love interest more than the main( who i feel i should add is a poc while the love interest is white) and then splitting the season with jo even though it makes absolutely no sense story wise and it’s just really disappointing to see this happen to the first skam season where they have their first man of color as a “main” (we all know that was just a way to earn some diversity points) but what else do we expect from skam france.

And you can see a clear difference. How Miquel is transforming her and not for the better.

They have become more optimistic, she's still turning her back on something, ignoring something, but at the same time, while she does it, she's smiling, as if it's not a burden to her anymore or not as much of one as it used to be.

Now that Nora's season is over I think I'm ready to give my final opinion.

I liked how they showed the toxic relationship between Nora and Miquel, it was 100% realistic. But the last episode felt kinda rushed and left me saying THAT'S IT?

At the same time this is a TV show and a lot of time I felt like I was watching the same thing over and over again, and sometime I was so bored I didn't even watch a clip and just read what happened.

I felt sorry for Nora but at the same I didn't connect with her at all, maybe because our personality are totally different or because I expected a more feisty version of her. I appreciated that she talked instantly to the girls about the photos.

Before the season started I was really looking forward about seeing Nora's relationship with her family but apart from Emma, their parents were showed like two/three times?

Meanwhile I enjoyed Viri's storyline and I'm very happy they showed a little bit of her life. Overall I liked the acting especially Alex's(Miquel).

About Alejandro I loved how his character was developed even tho I really was expecting him to be more present. I was so excited about Norandro but yeah🤷

okay so i havent watched the first five seasons of skam france, only getting into it for lola’s season basically and my only point of reference watching it now is the three seasons of skam españa. so with skamfr’s latest season i have absolutely no idea who's who since lola's not based on any of the characters in the og or spain remake.......finding out that DAPHNE IS VIRI?? IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE and like viri was such a little cutie and to think they gave the french viri a troubled queer little sister whomst i love and they have a tense but endearing ‘i hate you but also i dont because i love you you’re my sis’ dynamic going on?? man i think i just found a new sense of love for this show

So about the Viri storyline: After the first few episodes, I realized what they were doing with it. I enjoyed the clips for what they were: brief glimpses into Viri’s life. I wasn’t super disappointed or upset with it because I made my peace with it. What it boils down to is that if Skam España had devoted more time to Viri’s storyline, even half of what they devoted to Nora’s story (which I think was one of the best made seasons in the skamiverse), if they had devoted enough time to Viri, then I think they could have done something truly incredible with it. There were so many aspects to explore when inhabiting Viri’s head; her family’s struggles with money, an ED storyline, etc. I am confident that if Skam España had been able to make 5 seasons or if they had been able to make Viri’s clips a larger part of the girl squad’s story, then they would have done an amazing job with it.

I want to think, and from the bottom of my heart believe that the reason why Dilan looked so relaxed and happy when Hugo and Viri were kissing was because they had already talked about it previously.

An honest heart to heart between them along the lines of "I like her too, you like her, and we both deserve a chance to try to be with her" And while Dilan also liked Viri, he was ultimately happy his friend was also with the girl he liked because they were honest to each other about it.

And maybe the reason why Hugo ignored Viri the following morning is because he isn't entirely sure she actually likes him or if she remains believing it's a casual thing and nothing serious. Plus, she went to a date with Dylan and she has never been in a date-date with Hugo, so he might think she likes Dilan more seriously and he is just someone she likes to hang out with and not necesarily date. While Viri, genuinely likes him, but isn't entirely sure on how to be with someone, she is aware being with someone means being fully honest with them and she isn't ready to give everything of her self just yet despite loving Hugo, or maybe she knows what she feels but is not quite aware of it yet.

At the end of the Day, the three of them are precious and wonderful and deserve the world and more and should be happy, taken care of and protected.
