My first new illustration in a while! This was inspired by this verse of the song Wildflowers by The Walin' Jennys (originally by Tom Petty).

You belong among the wildflowers

You belong somewhere close to me

Far away from your trouble and worry

You belong somewhere you feel free

We sang this in the Singing Mamas group I go to, and since I heard it I've been singing my son to sleep with it. It just makes me feel emotional thinking of my son and everything I hope for him. 

Hopefully this brings back some balmy Summer feelings 🌞💖

The first line demonstrates "Ap iril sğoppim" as a set phrase for introducing quotes; fronting of prepositional phrases is otherwise largely reserved for focus constructions. The second line shows negative concord between pori "never" and hamn "not". The conjunction hwopimn in line 3 is a (not fully transparent) compound of hwopi "occur" and hamn "not". There is no explicit marking of comparatives, "ğiwnang oi" is implicitly comparative. Double marking of the pronoun nga in the serial verb complex "emrong nga salsh nga" is emphatic.
