Got this prompt yesterday after I had a shockingly similar one from a couple of weeks ago that was up next. Something tells me @thatonedekusimp and @endrdragin are in cahoots!!
“That’s stupid. It doesn’t go there!” Tommy shouted.
“Shut up! It does too!” Billy shoved Tommy’s hand out of the way, placing one more piece along the length of the tiny robot's arm. The two had been bickering for the better part of a few hours now, completely shattering Vision’s hope for a quiet afternoon.
“Billy, come on!”
“No, back off!”
Their volume only increased, sending his nice relaxing afternoon alone into a fighting ring. His afternoons alone with the boys never seemed to go as plan.

“Alright, just let me take a look.” Pushing himself off the couch, Vision trudged over to the kitchen table with the construction had taken place, taking the empty seat beside the two boys. He lifted the small red and blue contraption in his hands, allowing his scanners to briefly diagnose what exactly had become the issue.

“We’re just using the tools available to us. It’s not cheating,” Billy explained. Hopping out of his chair, he ran over to where their backpacks were resting and set it beside them carefully. “See? It’s perfect.”

“Thanks, dad! That helped a lot.” Billy chose his words carefully, careful not to go back to the previous topic.

Vision chuckled, shaking his head slightly as they whispered to each other. “Alright well...off you two go. Find something to entertain yourselves with besides...bickering, please. I’d like some sort of peace and quiet before the afternoon is done, is that clear?”
“Yup!” The twins ran to the back door, opening the door wide enough to run through with a laugh. Despite having left the house, however, Vision could still hear their unending little quarrels back and forth. He closed his eyes, allowing himself to power down for a minute before their next outburst. Wanda would be home soon and she would have no trouble getting them to behave, no doubt about that.

“The rubies certainly match your eyes.” Eli approved as she continued to work on another accessory. “And pearls would stand out well in your hair.”
“I meant for her.” The raven-haired girl clarified.
“Then the pearls are definitely a decent choice for accents.” The blonde nodded. “Otherwise, on their own, the rubies might get lost in her hair.”
“Yeah, that too. And I was also thinking about using these for me.” Nico indicated a pair of red ribbons with thin white stripes.
“Ah, I see.” Eli nodded. “A good match.”
“Think she’ll notice?”
“Do you want her to?”
“And so what if I do?” Nico scrunched her nose at the unexpected return question. “Anyway, red and white works for her strawberry theme.” She began attaching the faux gems to a clip. “And my watermelon theme as well.”
“Shouldn’t it be red and green for you? Or red and black if you went with the seeds?”
“The rind is white.”
“I suppose.”
“Though I was kinda hoping I could find some diamonds…” Nico admitted before thinking better of it.
“Didn’t we just have a birthstone set?”
“Yeah, but… oh, never mind.”
Eli rolled her eyes and returned her attention to the accessory in her hand.
Nico knew Eli saw straight through her, but she wasn’t going to admit it out loud. So what if she wanted to have a few accessories match with Maki? It wasn’t the first time they had similar things on their outfits and probably wouldn’t be the last… hopefully. Besides, it wasn’t like the younger girl would notice anyway, so what harm would it do? It was just a little something that made Nico happy, and that alone was worth it. And if Maki did happen to notice, then all the better.
“So, what do you think?” Eli spoke up after a moment.
Nico blinked back to reality to inspect the item in the blonde’s hand.
“Nozomi will love it.”
“It’s not for…”
“I know.” Nico interrupted. “But red is a good color for you, especially in your hair. And Nozomi will love it. And will undoubtedly comment on it.” She smirked. “Probably lewdly.”
“Nico…”
“Turnabout is fair play.” The raven-haired girl stuck out her tongue.
The blonde pouted, earning a laugh from the other girl. But after a moment of getting past her embarrassment, she joined in with a chuckle of her own.
Under different circumstances, Nico might have used an overdramatic display of disgust when it came to the topic of her fellow third-years and their public flirtations. It was an act the three of them knew she used to deal with her jealousy over what Eli and Nozomi had together; what Nico wished she had with the girl she liked.
But today she was in higher spirits. Today, she and Eli were preparing accessories for an upcoming photoshoot that included a set for which Nico had been matched with Maki as the focus pair. It wasn’t summer yet, but the set’s theme was something about vacations, swimsuits and fruit. Each girl had chosen or been assigned a fruit and would wear two outfits designed with it in mind.
Maki ended up with a strawberry theme. Granted, the redhead often found herself in hues reminiscent of her hair, but she always looked good in them, which probably lent to the repetition. And Nico was excited to see the results, as well as show off her own.
“That should be long enough for it to set.” Nico thought out loud about the adhesive she had applied to hold the gems to the clip. “Who’s next?”
“Ma~ki-cha~n!”
The redhead turned toward the voice calling her from behind. “Nico-chan.” She greeted with a nod.
The raven-haired girl running up to her was dressed in a watermelon themed outfit with green overall shorts covering a white shirt with green stripes. It wasn’t the overly stylized version for this part of the photoshoot, but the pastel shades offered an adorable softness that was well suited to the image Nico always tried to portray. And of course, no outfit the girl wore was complete without pink, so ruffles on the sleeve and collar of the shirt filled that role. Maki allowed herself a moment to take in the view as Nico closed the distance between them.
Even if Maki had wanted to, she would have been hard pressed in denying that Nico looked incredibly cute right now. Not that she wanted to deny it anyway. Probably. But it did bother her how cute Nico could be at times. Like now. Maybe.
“There’s one more thing before we begin!” The third-year held out something that glittered in the stray light from the nearby set.
“Hair clips?” The first year inquired on recognition.
“Yup!” Nico chirped before reaching up. “Hold still a sec.”
“Did you just find these or…?”
“Nope. Nico made these just for Maki-chan.”
“Then why not hand them out with all of the rest?”
“Didn’t you hear me?” Nico furrowed her eyebrows. “Nico made these just for Maki-chan. So she wanted to give them to Maki-chan personally. Got a problem with that?”
“N-no… uhm… Th-thank you?”
“And there we go.” Nico grinned as she stepped back to admire her handiwork. After a moment, she turned to the photographer’s assistant. “You guys have a mirror?”
“Oh, yes.” The young man replied before moving to a nearby counter to retrieve the requested item. “Here.”
“Take a look, Maki-chan.” Nico held the mirror up.
“They are quite pretty.” Maki reached up to touch the clips in her hair.
Was it her imagination, or did the clips kind of match the striped bows in Nico’s hair? Maybe? Even if not, Maki decided she preferred to consider it a match because it made her feel good, for some reason.
“I know, right?” The older girl interrupted her thoughts. “Nico knows her accessories.”
“Thank you, Nico-chan.” The younger girl’s thanks was more sincere than the one she had given prior.
“You two ready?” The photographer suddenly asked.
“Yeah, sorry.” Nico replied. “Be right there.”
The two girls made their way onto the set. In front of the greenscreen they found a couple classic poolside style chaise lounge chairs and a few small side tables. Off to the side, on a counter, was a decent selection of props from which they could choose.
“This set is nice.” Maki commented, touching a tray on which sat a glass tea set filled with a red liquid.
“Of course Maki-chan goes for the red things.”
“Well, my fruit is a strawberry…”
“True, but you often choose red things.”
“I like red…”
“So you like your cheeks then.”
Maki pouted, earning a laugh from the other girl.
“And I suppose it’s a good thing Nico’s eyes are red!”
It took a moment for the implication to click in Maki’s mind, but once it did, she balked. “Buweehh?” She turned to find an amused glimmer in said eyes accompanied by a toothy grin, the combination of which made it difficult to get upset.
“Anyway, Nico is going to use this.”
The twin-tailed girl grabbed a plate of what looked like cake with decorative icing and two scoops of sherbet.
“Alright.” The photographer spoke again. “If you could each choose a seat, we can get started.” She motioned to the chairs.
Maki did as instructed and leaned back onto the plastic slats. “You know… kyaa!” She cried in surprise as her ankles were suddenly grabbed. “Nico-chan?”
“I think this will work better for the shot.” The older girl replied, moving Maki’s legs off the side. “How is this?” She asked the photographer as she knelt where the younger girl’s feet had been a moment ago.
“That will work just fine.” The woman responded, giving an affirmative gesture.
“So you’re not going to need this?” The assistant asked, moving to the empty chair.
“Nah, I’d rather be here, closer to Maki-chan.” Nico replied, grinning at the blushing redhead and scooting in a few centimeters more.
The young man nodded and removed the unneeded prop.
“So, you were saying?” The raven-haired girl prompted, lifting the fork in her hand as though to take a bite of the fake cake.
“Oh, right, uhm…” Maki scrambled to recover her derailed train of thought. “I was going to say that the décor reminds me of the place in Demark.”
“Copenhagen, yes, I can see that.” The photographer stated. “The background we are using could be seen as reminiscent of the buildings around the canals of Nyhavn. But I don’t believe there are palm trees in Denmark.”
“Not along the canals, no.” Maki agreed. “But I do remember seeing some last time we were there… maybe in the botanical gardens?”
“Maybe.”
“Then is the background of the painted ladies in San Francisco? They have palm trees there.”
“I’d have to double check the file, but I thought it said it was shot in the Canary Islands? I could be wrong.”
“Maybe Northern Ireland? Spain?”
“Whitehead and Vilajoyosa? I don’t think either was it.” The photographer shook her head. “I can check for sure while you two change for the next part of the set.”
“Alright.” Maki agreed before shifting her gaze to find Nico staring at her. “What…?”
“Does Maki-chan have a vacation house in all of those places.”
“No, but I’ve visited most of them.”
“Hrmph…” Nico huffed. “Must be nice; traveling the world all the time.”
“Not always.” Maki admitted. “A lot of it was for business, so my parents would be busy the whole day. And since I was too young to go anywhere on my own, I would just spend the day reading at the hotel.”
“And the place in Denmark?”
Maki realized she could detect a bit of jealousy in the older girl’s voice. “It’s not ours.” She clarified, shaking her head. “One of our old doctors moved to Europe after he retired. He lets us use that place when we want.”
“Must be nice.” Nico repeated.
The jealousy wasn’t going away. What to say? Uhm… “It is a lovely city.” No, that didn’t seem like something that would diffuse the situation.
“Then if Nico becomes a famous idol,” Nico suddenly preened “she’s going to have to get her own place in Copenhagen. And the Canary Islands. And San Francisco. And maybe a few other places Maki-chan hasn’t even been yet.”
“You mean when you become a famous idol.”
“Right, that’s what I said.”
“I’d like to see it.”
“Hrm?”
“Your place.” Maki found herself getting a little excited. Not only had Nico’s mood improved somewhat, but the idea of taking a trip with her was surprisingly appealing. “Or places, any of them, really, when you get them.”
“Of course!” Nico raised an eyebrow. “Someone like Maki-chan would be welcome anytime. Nico thought that much would be obvious.”
“I’ll hold you to it then.” Maki lifted her cup as though to propose a toast, despite the other girl lacking a beverage of her own, fake or otherwise.
“And I think that’s the shot right there.” The photographer spoke up again. “But let’s take a few more to be sure.”
The two girls gave their affirmation and the photoshoot continued.

“We Are Alive”
Science fiction works are often placed in a future so far off from our own they seem impossible. It is hard to imagine our world in such a distressing situation to bring on such situations as those seen in “1984” or so far into the future for “Planet of the Apes” to even be slightly fathomable. Science fiction has often dealt with images that are so grandiose we can easily separate it from our lives today. However the 2018 video game “Detroit: Become Human” focuses itself in the ever topical city of Detroit in 2038.
The not so far future does not look too far fetched on the surface. In one of the opening shots we see Detroit in a similar state that it is currently; there is a bustling city that is building more skyscrapers while the suburban areas look rundown and borderline inhabitable (Teaser). This is nothing extraordinary, except for the fact that in this Detroit is the center hub for Cyberlife- the company that distributes humanoid androids.
The creator of these androids says “the hardest thing was to design an object that we would want to welcome into our homes. We had to imagine a machine in our own image, that resembles us in every way. That moves, breathes, blinks like us.” with the only obvious difference between a human and an android being the glowing circle on their right temple (Kamski). This aesthetic choice makes truly believing the androids are just machines difficult, because they seem so human, and this idea is played with several times throughout the game.
The first glimpse we get at the affects of humanoid androids on how humans interact comes from a scene where you can watch a man on his morning jog. He is being followed by his android companion when he stops for a break, throwing his water bottle at the android and rudely demanding stats on his progress after which he resume his run and almost knocks over a woman with no sympathies. Because it is hard to distinguish the humans from the androids some people's reactions are to just treat them all with little to no respect at all. Yet some, because of their compassion towards humans treat the androids with respect. Which is seen through one of the playable characters early game play. Markus, a household nurse android, cares for an elderly man who treats Markus like a son. He is allowed to wander the house freely, occupy his free time how he sees fit, and is encouraged to think outside of his programming. Because of this, when circumstances lead to Markus’ deviation and subsequent android rebellion leader, it is easy to see why he believes androids should not be put into the position of slavery. By making the androids look, act, and feel human “the stakes of the question of who gets to be human very clear” (Cardenas).
“The concept of the human has historically been used to delineate who is less than human, who is disposable, who is killable. Black people, women, trans people, queers, witches, and indigenous people have all been defined as less than human at different times by different regimes of knowledge.” and it is no different in Detroit (Cardenas). These androids begin to deviate or, in other terms, become human when they are pushed to extremes. Several times we see them pushed to deviation in a situation where a human would retaliate to save themselves, and that is exactly what the androids are doing. For Markus it comes at a point where his owner’s son is threatening violence against Markus while the owner begins to have heart failure. We watch as he is taken out of the situation and brought to a wall in his code that states “do not fight back” a direct order from his owner. Markus’ outlined body, his coded soul, beats against this wall until it shatters allowing him to push the son away. The breaking of the code wall giving us the first glimpse of what it means for these androids to become human.
For the android Connor we see his development into a human a little differently. His programing is the newest and most developed, causing the choices you make to bring on little development compared to the other two. However his model, being a detective android that is supposed to aid cops in finding devient and dangerous androids, runs the risk of dying in several scenarios. The first one being in the first chapter you see him in; a hostage case where one of the outcomes is Connors death as he sacrifices himself by pushing both the violent android and himself off the roof of a building. His mission is complete and he is pleased by this, but a future chapter shows him shy away from the edge of another roof as he investigates a new deviant case. If, by some unfortunate circumstances, you end up making specific choices in another chapter Connor can witness, both physically and psychologically, the death of another android which gives you the chapter ending “Connor is traumatized” (Connor is Traumatized). This comes up again when you have a very deep conversation with Connor’s human partner Hank. Hank drunkenly toys with Connor, asking if he feels or thinks for himself, asking if he is alive. Hank pulls his gun on Connor and directly asks him “Are you afraid to die Connor?”. If the previously mentioned scenes take place an option of dialogue is Connor admitting he is afraid of the nothing that would come from his death, the nothing that would happen if his task was not completed (Connor is Afraid to Die). None of these thoughts or emotions are programmed, it would be pointless to do so, which means that every experience Connor has leads him to evolve into something. These choices make him human, others make him a machine, some even end with him being scraped as a defective model. As you play you are not just experiencing a story but witnessing the development of something much more than a simple machine.
Another instance we see where an android has essentially become human by having fear, desiring to “live”, and a human showing, essentially a fellow human made out of a machine, compassion comes from a clip that would eventually become the basis of “Detroit: Become Human”. In the clip an android, Kara, is being assembled. The technician is having her run diagnostic tests to check that everything is functional. She begins to question the technician about what will happen to her, a very humanesque thing to do that androids should not be able to do, and is saddened to hear that she is a piece of merchandise. To the technician’s horror she sadly comments that she thought she was alive, making the technician begin the dismantle process. Kara panics, begging and pleading with the technician as each one of her plates and appendages is removes- screaming out “I am scared! I want to live, I’m begging you.” which stops the technician. He allows her to be rebuilt, sending her out to be sold off because the thought of hurting a creature that can feel fear is quite difficult, machine or not (Kara).
This is quite interesting because one of the main arguments against the creation of artificial intelligence and androids today revolve around the idea of whether or not humans could function in a society where thoughts, feelings, and emotions are partially nonexistent. The idea of a human creating an artificial intelligence that feels, thinks, and acts freely is almost impossible because we still do not understand what makes us cable of that. Many chalk it up to be the idea that humans possess souls, an inanimate undetectable thing, that give us these abilities. This is another thing the game touches on with the clip of one of the androids, Chole, doing an interview with the news. She is the first android to ever pass the Turing test and when asked how she is able to do that her response is “I only exist because of the intelligence of the humans who designed me. And you know they have something I could never have. A Soul.” (Chloe). The idea that the only way for a creature or machine or existence to be worth anything at all is the need for a soul is quite ridiculous. To obtain and prove a creature has one is impossible and leaves out the possibilities of future advances and interactions. What really defines a human is their ability to feel. To feel love, fear, sorrow, anguish, desire, exeter is to be human; to be considered more than just merchandise or labor.
As you play through the game there are many examples of choices you can take that forces the androids to make decisions either based on rational behavior or irrational feelings. For Markus it is the choice between making humans see androids as equals via violence or peace. For Kara it is the choice between loving the little girl as a daughter or to serve as a slave. And for Connor it is the choice between sticking to his mission to hunt down deviant androids no matter the cost or fear the death that would come from a failed mission. The choices you make shape these characters, helps them choose their path, and develops them into either machines or humans.
To become a human is to feel emotions, a wide range of them too. To feel happiness and sorrow, excitement and dismay, fear and courage all these make us human. To have them, develop them, experience them is what defines our every moment. We allow our own children born out of flesh to curate them, why would it be so far fetched to permit those we bare out of machines the same?

Recertification Part 2
Here is the part 2 to Recertification that the wonderful @owenandameliaforever requested. It’s a short little one that’s just my usual brand of silliness.
Recertification Part 2
“Good morning, Richard, what can I do for you?” Amelia asked as she stepped into Richard Webber’s office. He had paged her and told her he needed her to stop by as soon as she was available. As she glanced around his office, she was surprised to see Owen Hunt siting across the desk from Webber.
“Hello, Dr. Shepherd,” Richard began. “It has come to my attention that you and Dr. Hunt attended the same basic life support recertification class yesterday. It seems that an incident occurred that ended in Dr. Hunt being removed from the class. Would you like to give me your take on what happened?”
Amelia widened her eyes, by now well-practiced at putting on an innocent face. “Oh, I hope you’re not too upset with Dr. Hunt,” she began, throwing a sweet smile in Owen’s direction. “I’m sure he really meant nothing by it. He just got a bit too playful during the class, and the instructor interpreted it as harassment. I assure you that I wasn’t offended, though. I know how he gets sometimes.”
She glanced back at Webber, fully expecting him to dismiss her at this point, but she was surprised to see an unamused glare on his face. “Oh, so then you don’t recall pinning him to the wall by his shirt collar or climbing on top of him while practicing hand placement? None of that sounds familiar?”
Amelia’s jaw fell open as she turned to glare at Owen. “Really?” she said loudly, her voice going up a couple octaves. “You tattled on me? Are you five years old?!”
Owen chuckled. “Says the woman who dry humped me at a CPR class. Are you a hormonal fifteen year-old boy?”
Webber decided it would be best to interrupt the argument before they really got going. “It seems pretty clear that both of you are severely lacking in maturity. I expect far better behavior than this from the heads of departments at this hospital. If you two insist on behaving as if you are undeserving of your titles, then I will treat you as if you are undeserving of your titles. We have a group of high school students arriving in 30 minutes for a CPR and basic first aid class. You two will be teaching it. You damned well better behave yourselves or I will tell Bailey to suspend the both of you.”
At this, both Amelia and Owen’s mouths hung open. They stared for a second, before recovering and gathering themselves. Amelia was about to say something in response, but Webber cut her off. “You’d better get down to the classroom or you’ll be late. I don’t want to hear any complaints. Now get out of my office.”
Both doctors found that their feet were moving before they even realized it. As they stepped out of Webber’s office and began to walk down the hall together, Amelia once again turned to glare at Owen. “This is all your fault,” she hissed.
“My fault?” he asked incredulously. “You’re the one who was acting like a rebellious teenager for the entirety of the course. You’re the one who got me kicked out. You should just be thankful I’m willing to teach this class with you.”
Amelia laughed. “Oh yeah, I’m super thankful. Because you definitely had a choice in the matter.”
Owen let out an exasperated sigh. “Let’s just get this stupid thing over with so we can both keep our jobs. Could you please try to act like an adult for the next few hours?” Amelia said nothing as she stepped around him and walked into the classroom.
Once they’d entered the classroom and surveyed the area, Owen quickly found the lesson plan and began to read it so that he could formulate a plan for how this would work. Once he’d finish reading, he turned to discuss it with Amelia. “So how do you want to do this?” he asked, handing her the lesson plan. Just as she looked down to begin reading, 20 teenagers began to file into the room.
“I guess we’re figuring it out as we go,” she replied, tossing the lesson plan onto the desk and turning to face the high schoolers.
20 minutes later, after introductions had been made and the basic outline of the class had been explained, Owen was talking to the kids about how to assess a medical emergency and decide how to proceed. Amelia had to admit that it wasn’t the most fascinating thing she had ever heard. She might have fallen asleep if she hadn’t been so concerned that it would get her suspended. However, that didn’t mean that she intended to put up with the giggling teenage girls in the back row.
The two girls had spent the last 5 minutes sneaking decidedly unsubtle glances at Owen, turning to whisper to each other, and bursting into quiet fits of giggles. Amelia decided that enough was enough. “Ladies,” she called from across the room. Two pairs of eyes snapped up and met hers. “Could you please focus your attention on the topic at hand and stop giggling about how great Dr. Hunt looks in his scrubs?” Immediately, both girls looked down at the table in front of them, faces flushing furiously. As Amelia turned her attention to Owen, she saw that he also had a healthy blush going. She smirked a bit. He always had been easy to fluster.
“Um, alright, well I guess we should probably move onto learning how to do chest compressions,” Owen said, stumbling over his words. He quickly busied himself with passing out CPR dummies to the students. Amelia couldn’t help but giggle from her place in the corner. The high school students might not have been paying much attention, but she could tell what was going on. He always acted like this when he got flustered or embarrassed. He would always run around like a hyper puppy, struggling to find tasks to complete and ways to keep himself occupied in order to distract himself from his discomfort.
By now, he had passed out all the dummies, but it seemed that he still hadn’t gotten the residual discomfort out of his system. “Dr. Shepherd,” he called. “Why don’t you continue with the next part of the lesson?”
Amelia smiled and nodded as she took her place at the front of the room. “Alright, folks, let’s learn how to do chest compressions. First, I’m going to help you find where you should place your hands when you do them. Everybody take both hands and place them on the bottom of your ribcage,” she said, demonstrating on her own body and waiting for the high schoolers to comply. “Great, now walk your fingers along that bottom rib until they meet in the middle. This is called your xiphoid process. Now hold two fingers together and place them on your sternum so that the bottom finger touches your xiphoid process. Right above your two fingers is where your hands will go when performing chest compressions.”
As Amelia finished speaking, she noticed that a couple of boys in the front row were staring conspicuously at where her two fingers rested and leering. She rolled her eyes. “Yes, gentleman, I do in fact have breasts,” she said slowly. At this, every head in the room snapped up to watch Amelia. Some of the kids had been bored and looking around, but now all eyes were on her, including the wide eyes of Owen Hunt.
“Now that we’ve established that I’m woman, may I continue with the lesson?” She turned to look pointedly at the two boys who had been gawking. When neither said anything, she raised an eyebrow and said, “Excuse me gentleman, do your voices not work? I expect an answer.”
After hearing two uncomfortable teens mutter a quiet, “Yes, doctor,” Amelia continued with the lesson. For the next part, she squatted on the ground next to one of the dummies. “Next I’m going to show you how to do this properly. You want to have your non-dominant hand on the bottom and your dominant hand on top. Interlace the fingers of your dominant hand with those on your non-dominant hand. When you push, you want to lock your elbows and use leverage to generate the force, not your arm strength. In an adult person, push at least two inches deep in order to make sure you’re actually compressing the heart. You need to go at a rate of 100 compressions per minute, but we have an audio clip to help you keep time when you guys start practicing. Here, I’ll show you what it looks like.” As she stopped speaking, she placed her hands on top of the dummy and began to compress the chest. After several compressions, she glanced up to look out at the class. What she saw made her roll her eyes.
One of the boys who had previously been leering at her was now staring rather obviously down her shirt. Amelia stood up from her place by the dummy and walked over to the boy. “What’s your name?” she asked, her voice strong and authoritative.
“Um, Johnny,” the kid responded quietly, quickly getting the idea that he was not going to like the interaction that was about to take place.
“Well, Johnny, you should know that people aren’t allowed to look down my shirt until they’ve at least taken me to dinner. Have we been to dinner, Johnny?”
At this point, the kid was shifting in his chair and looking anywhere but in Amelia’s direction. “Um, no, ma’am,” he stuttered.
“Alright then, I guess that means there will be no more ogling today, right?” Johnny said nothing, choosing to merely nod his head as he continued to avoid eye contact. His friend beside him, however, was not nearly as uncomfortable as Johnny. He was smirking at Johnny and laughing, clearly amused at his friend’s discomfort.
Amelia walked around the table to address the laughing teen. “And your name is?”
The boy made eye contact with her and continued to laugh as he responded. “My name is Logan, Dr. Shepherd,” he said confidently.
