TMT: Mutant Mayhem opinion/rating/analysis thing lol

OKAY OKAY

i just got back form seeing it and i had to write about it. I loved this movie so much!! Obviously a more kiddie take on them, but so much character and personality. I haven't really consumed any other TMT media, but this was great.

So first off, the theme and overall meaning of the storyline. It is to be accepted. This is a theme i really dont see much in movies, but i love it. The way they wrote it into the movie is like, "I want to be accepted, but i cant change the way i am for that. I want people to accept me. ME. Who/what i am." I think that this is a really valuable theme to have in a child oriented film. Similarly to the 2023 Nimona movie, it can be taken in many ways depending on who you are and your perspective. Its in out nature to want to be accepted, its in out nature to be liked, but a lot of people change themselves for that. But there are only a few people brave enough to say "I wont change myself, accept me for who i am." And that is the message kids and teens can get from his movie. From my perspective, an LGBT teen who lives in a very republican state, i really love this. To me, it feels like standing up for who i am, and not letting others tell me who/what to be. Saying "Im the way i am, and i wont change. if you dont accept me, ill find someone who does" (i def went over the rails with this but oh well lmao)

ANYWAY THE ART STYLEEEE

I love the art style!! This year has been a phoneomal year for animated flicks, Spiderman Across the Spiderverse, Nimona, and not TMT Mutant Mayem. All 3 of these movies have broken away from any other animation style. Spiderverse took the first movie, and just completely one upped it. And the TMT movie was so creatively done. I love the scribbles, the colors. They way they drew fire and explosion was awesome. Truly a step in the right direction, breaking from the 3d styles found in Pixar and a lot of the Illumination movies.
