Sometimes I think about how many times Tessa woke up at night in search of Will and Jem, after Will died. How lonely she must've felt, knowing that she couldn't see either of them. How she missed their voice or simply, their presence. The color of their eyes, the streak of gray in their black hair. How, sometimes, she even asked herself if they had really meet, if everything they had been through had really happened. How it hurt remembering when she had had nightmares before, and Will was there to circle his arms around her to tell her everything was fine, and she felt better. Or the words of comfort Jem reserved only for her, whenever they met at Black Friars bridge.

‼️infernal devices spoilers ‼️
i did not cry when reading will herondales death.
quite the opposite, i felt like he lived to an old age, and he died with his only two loves at his side. he had a full life
instead it was this bitchass line that made me bawl:
she remembered when will had died, her agony, the long nights alone, reaching across the bed every morning when she woke up, for eighty years expecting to find him there, and only slowly growing accustomed to the fact that that side of the bed would always be empty. the moments when she had found something funny and turned to share the joke with him, only to be shocked anew that he was not there. the worst moments, when, sitting alone at breakfast, she had realized that she had forgotten the precise blue of his eyes or the depth of his laugh; that like the sound of jems violin, they had faded into the distance where memories are silent.

"I know people hurt one another. I know relationships are complicated. Believe me. But it's been my experience that - well when everyone loves one another enough, there will always be a way for things to come out alright in the end."

“Tess, Tess, Tessa. Was there ever a more beautiful sound than your name? To speak it aloud makes my heart ring like a bell. Strange to imagine that, isn’t it – a heart ringing – but when you touch me that is what it is like: as if my heart is ringing in my chest and the sound shivers down my veins and splinters my bones with joy. Why have I written these words in this book? Because of you. You taught me to love this book where I had scorned it. When I read it for the second time, with an open mind and heart, I felt the most complete despair and envy of Sydney Carton. Yes, Sydney, for even if he had no hope that the woman he loved would love him, at least he could tell her of his love. At least he could do something to prove his passion, even if that thing was to die. I would have chosen death for a chance to tell you the truth, Tessa, if I could have been assured that death would be my own. And that is why I envied Sydney, for he was free. And now at last I am free, and I can finally tell you, without fear of danger to you, all that I feel in my heart. You are not the last dream of my soul. You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth. With hope at least, Will Herondale”

A Different Kind of Music - Wessa
Set a few months after Will and Tessa get married. So let's say 1880-1881. They are deciding how to renovate the ballroom of the Institute, but things take a different turn when they get creative. ;) This was inspired by the amazing hot art by the talented @/thorndale/elisial_art on tumblr/Instagram <;3 Warning: Mature
“This room is such a mess,” Will glared at the windows, where long drapes of red velvet hung on by a literal thread. “First thing we’ll change are these curtains, I don’t like red,” he flinched, as if red offended him for some reason.
Tessa could only smile as they paced the ballroom together. She couldn’t believe it. Just a few months ago, they said their vows and they sealed their union. She was Tessa Herondale now, and even though not everybody saw it the same way, it didn’t matter to her. Only Will mattered, and the future they intended to build together in this place, which needed a little redecoration, according to him.

The Herondale Family of London
“‘Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm,’ [Will] whispered. ‘For love is strong as death; the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love; neither can the floods drown it.’”
- from Fairytale of London by Cassandra Clare (2021)
