WELCOME BACK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
September 29, 2021
Hello my fellow students! After a long hiatus and a long break from school I am officially back! I don't have a post schedule yet, but I will keep everyone updated. As for my whereabouts the past few months, I will address that in a post later down the line. For now I want to wish everyone a happy back to school season, I know many schools started earlier, but this is my 2nd day back. So to anyone just starting back and to those who have been in for a while, we're in this together.

New Notebook Layout
Tumblr media
Wednesday October 6, 2021
This term I started making new front page layouts for my notebooks so that I can find content easier when studying later. I got the idea from an old highschool teacher who had a similar table of contents idea, but I added a few more touches to it.
Tumblr media
We start with the name of the class written out at the top
Tumblr media
I added a key so that I knew what the colors mean for each class (I left my purple highlighter at home so ignore the empty spot)
Tumblr media
My scheduled hours for the class
Tumblr media
And finally the table of contents where I can write out what each page has on it.
I have always left my first page of my notebook empty because I didn't like taking notes on that first page, so l think this is a great way to add something onto the page that is helpful and appealing to look at.

Injury Prevention Research Project
I just turned in my research project on injury prevention and I had to show you all the final product because I am so proud of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The research project was supposed to be on a preventable injury and we needed to make a visual presentation for it, so I chose to make a brochure. I am obsessed with how it turned out and I think it looks so professional and organized. I'm so proud to turn this in as a final project.
This term has been absolutely insane. Not only is it my first term back in person at my first ever university, I have also been working full-time, taking 16 credits, and streaming on twitch 3 days a week. On top of everything going on, my mother also got very sick and needed emergency surgery last week before Thanksgiving. It's been a lot to deal with, but as of today I have a 3.75 GPA which is INSANE to me. Fall term has always been the most difficult for me and to see myself do so well gives me so much hope for the future.

Just a little progression of my notes while studying. I've missed coffee shop studying and I'm glad to be back.
If you're leaving your home to study, remember to wear a mask, socially distance, and support small businesses

Welcome back!
After a long spring break due to COVID-19 my school is starting classes back up next week all online. I've never taken a term completely online, so this is going to be a new experience for me as well as many other students, but maybe some of my ideas can help you all out.
Tumblr media
First things first, I have planned out my first week to help myself feel a little less overwhelmed. Getting into a new routine is going to be rough, but we'll get there. And you all are going to be getting a lot of pictures of my bedroom seeing as all of my favorite coffee shops and study rooms are closed.
I'll have more study updates for you all when classes start and maybe a little spring cleaning post.

5/28 Days of Productivity
Fri: What is your favorite subject/topic to study at the moment?
This term I'm taking a class called Ancient Mythology and Folklore and I am obsessed with it. I'm telling all my friends to take it. It is honestly one of the best classes I've ever taken. This week we're covering Roman mythology and last week was Greek mythology. It is a really fun class, we listen to a lot of podcasts and talk about our takes on the stories. I have even started writing 1 minute versions of stories that are incredibly amusing to write. Basically mythology is my favorite subject at the moment. Lots of fun.

Week 5/10
Real talk: This past week my mental health has taken a nose dive. I have no energy, I can't focus on school work, and I haven't been posting anywhere. I know I'm not alone in this and there are others that are experiencing this too. So here I am, admitting my downfalls, but refusing to give up. I got myself out of the house to study at one of my favorite coffee shops. I'm going to keep working and trying and here's to the hope that week 6 is better.
Also, I took my second stats exam this morning, so let's hope for an A together.
Topic of the day: Abnormal Psychology

I've gained quite a few new followers since I took a break from school and posting for summer, but I'm here to say hello to all of you and also tell you that I was accepted into a CNA program in my town. Therefore here is the start to my "summer term"
I will only be posting about this one class, because it's all I'm taking but I'm excited to have you follow my journey into my career!

Daytime vs. Nighttime
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really don't know what time of day I study better, I just study best when I am motivated to study. So here my workspace in the daytime vs the night time. Both are good options. Whatever it takes to get it done, is what you should be doing.

Week 5/10
Hello everyone, sorry about not posting last week. I'm not gonna lie, I just bought animal crossing and a switch and I can't stop playing it. However, school did not stop for me as much as I wanted it to, so we had a little struggle this week. I'm hopping back on the band wagon and continuing on with my weekly overview and breakdown for school. It's midterms guys. Honestly, I find midterms harder than finals, but alas they must always happen. Cheers to everyone getting through school right now. I know it's not easy. I'm right there with you.

Week 1
I have a couple books to read this term, and what better place to read them than in the grass on a beautiful day. I love reading outside with the sun on my back. When you can't leave your house, the backyard is the best feeling in the world.

Starting 28 Days of Productivity!
(Quarantine Eddition)
Day 1/28: Have you made a study schedule to help you study at home?
Yes! I call them weekly breakdowns and I post them every Sunday. I saved mine for today, Monday, because of this question. I also posted my to-do list for today, because sometimes you need to break stuff even further down to get everything done in a day. (And is there anything more satisfying than marking something off?)
What a better way to start off the week than starting off 28 days of Productivity!!

You're Doing Exactly What You Need To
I was having a conversation with a good friend who had been a straight A student all throughout college and high school. She was telling me that for the first time in her life she felt like she couldn't finish her school work. She felt like she had no motivation anymore.
I know that a lot of us are probably feeling this right now. The world is only barely starting to open up again slightly, but most of us are still strictly in quarantine. So, as someone who is majoring in psychology, I want to share some advice that my teacher has given to me:
We have never experienced anything like this. Teachers, students, parents, everyone is experiencing a new way of life. Be honest with us (teachers) we know what you're going through. Reach out to your classmates and other teachers, because if you don't ask you may never get the answers you want. We're taking this one day at a time, trying different things every week, maybe one of these will stick and maybe none of them will. Just because you aren't what you were before, doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. That's part of life. We change, we adapt.
From those wonderful words, I leave you with this... You're doing Exactly what you need to. To be healthy and sane and live your life.

Take a Moment to Relax
Anyone who sees this, I want you to take just 30 seconds to become aware of your body. Follow this quick checklist:
Release your shoulders
Unclench your jaw
Remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth
Relax your back and hips
Take a deep breath in through your mouth
Let it out through your nose
We tend to hold our stress in these places and are completely unaware of it. Try to remember to take a moment each day to become aware of your body and what it's telling you.
We're all in this together.
