Gardening is probably my favourite way to honour, and actively work with Spirit/Deity/higher self etc. And the thing that got me interested in gardening in the way long ago was the huge variety of strange and beautiful plants you could grow that you can’t get in the grocery store, or even the farmers’ market. I decided to limit most of my seed purchasing to a single colour pallet in order to limit my choices when deciding, and this season’s colour is purple/black. How witchy✨ 😏
Through some neat synchronicities, I’ll be joining @breelandwalker in  documenting and planning my garden for this season and talking gardens and tagging mine #witchygarden2020.  Oh and I’m in zone 5b in southern Ontario, so most of the plants I look at will be suited for that zone unless otherwise stated.
Black/Purple Edibles, Part 1/?? (Updating with links to more posts at the bottom as they’re finished!)
Top Row: Japanese Black Sticky Corn | Black Nebula Carrot | Japanese Pink Mizuna
Middle Row: Purple of Sicily Cauliflower | Desiree Dwarf Blauwschokkers Pea | Montana Lavender Clay Corn
Bottom Row: Scarlet Kale | Succotash Beans | Purple Lady Bok Choy
Italics = Have grown in past season
Bolded = Will for sure be growing this year
Everything else is wishlist material!

🌱And the first edible seedlings of the year are up and about! Four cultivars of basil for all your culinary, medicinal and magical needs.

I took my cold-start seeds out of stratification (the fridge) yesterday, planted them and kept the heat mat on the opposite end of the seed tray and I can already see germination on 3 of the 5 species! 😵
I knew yesterday was a great day for ending stratification, but wow that was /fast/
