;a wip i was planning on posting on Webtoon but forewent the idea for a lighter Webcomic that is also a, you guessed it, wip. Yaaaa....a..y. this Webcomic was basically about a girl who loses the last family member alive, her grandfather, and essentially ends up inheriting everything. Her family dealt with archeological discoveries, so bam bam done. They rich. Burying her grandfather in the family catacomb, she is a miserable mess, and her main housekeeper, seen in the drawing, is the only “family” she’s left, because rich people just exist differently okay.

anyway, skip a few days and she goes to visit her family catacomb, and coming upon her grandfather’s tomb, she realizes it to be empty. As in, the lid has been moved and he no longer is where he’s supposed to be. So she freaks out, as one normally would. Oh, and it’s night time, by the way, just for the effects. As she’s freaking out, unbeknownst to her and very abruptly, hands reach for her from inside her grandfather’s grave and DRAG her inside—to a world of utter darkness. Turns out, her family has been long serving an ancient being in the, yep, Underworld and now it’s her time to pick up the...staff(? Idk) and continue bowing to the being to preserve humanity. I haven’t figured out a better reason, so bear with me. Only, our girl doesn’t because, well, she’s rich. And she does what she wants. And they kind of, sort of, absolutely and irrevocably fall for each other. I don’t make the rules.

; this Webtoon, a soon-to-be-published story (I’m so close to finishing the first chapter 🤞so 🍻) is obviously and infamously named Piña Colada. It depicts a world after a nuclear winter where everything is green—and tremendously evolved. You will see people with features as terrifying as they are beautiful, mutated yet advanced, and bearing the terrible scars of the past. 

Enter our heroine, Misty. She has four arms and, in that, makes for a damn good barwoman as she owns a small cocktail booth by the beach that rocks the heels off all the locals that come to sip her famous drinks. She has three friends, one a kindergarten teacher (for lil monsters, really), one a...shark? he’s cute once you meet him, you’ll see, and one a bat. Again, once you meet them, you’ll understand. I’m not insane, I promise.

One summer day, a man sitting by her booth offers her a one night job in the city—where all the baddies are—to host as bartender in a societal party, and she agrees, seeing she could use the extra money to further her business. Big mistake, one she, slowly but surely, begins to understand as the days pass and her life gets more complicated—because a certain baddie of the baddies makes absolute sure of that.

This Webcomic, I affirmed, is in no way serious. Rather, it’s the most fun I’ve had curating a story that did not involve aspects of rigidity that some plot-heavy books entail. It’s meant to be fun, enjoyable, and a great laugh type of Webcomic. My hope is to have it simply live up to those words.

I’m so excited.
