An update to my personal journey,
I’ve made it a mission to hit the gym at least 3 times a week. Some days I feel strong and break previous PRs. Other days I just need a little push, or to remind myself that rest days are important too. It’s always a battle between my mind and my body; I know I’ll feel great after completing a workout, but I don’t always have the motivation to grab my duffel bag and walk into the gym. On the days I decide to rest, I still make it a priority to get at least 10,000 steps, read a book, stretch, or complete other projects. As long as I keep the blood flowing and stay productive, I can feel better about not going to the gym for 1-2 hours out of the day.
This self-proclaimed quest of mine has taught me a lot. Things that I already knew prior to the beginning, but always wrote off as having an easy solution.
There’s no such thing as starting over when you’ve missed a few days or went on vacation for a week, it’s just returning to the usual routine. Just as you’d do with school or work.
